Hello Readers, I'm alive! I have recently had a fight with the dreaded COVID virus and I came out on top. for those who do not think that it is real, your only kidding yourself. This thing is very real and does do damage to you. I had only just gotten my sense of taste and smell after almost three weeks since I was out of quarantine. Also due to this being my final semester of college and being in student teaching, things are going to get super busy again, I'm lucky to be in a grace period so I can post this for all of you. I have been dying to get a new chapter out but all my time has been taken up.

Rescue Wolf: I have to say that if Cody gets discovered as a shapeshifter, that might not be the greatest thing in the world because that is a real "ace in the hole" for the Paw Patrol, but yet it could cause disarray for the gang dogs if they think one of their own is not who they seem to be. We will just have to see what happens after this story and I have to say that after some planning the story is coming to an end soon.
Surprisingly I think that was everyone from the previous chapter. well since you have been awaiting this chapter let's get right into it.
Everest's POV:
I opened my eyes to find myself in an open field covered in snow. I looked around and the sky was blue, not a cloud to be seen.
Where am I? How did I get here? I thought
"Everest!" a voice called
I turned around and saw nothing who was that? I wondered
"Everest!" the voice called out again
I know that Voice… it's Marshall! I thought
I turned around to see him running towards me, relief across his face "Marshall!" I screamed hardly able to suppress my joy.
I ran towards him as fast as I could. As I got closer, I saw the sky begin to change colors. I ran faster as the sky turned to grey and it started to rain. I could no longer see Marshall.
"Marshall! Where Are You!" I called out
There was no reply
"Marshall, If You Can Hear Me, Please Say Something!" I called out desperately as I felt my fur start to stick to my body
Still there was no reply from Marshall.
I ran towards where I last saw him. I had to run up a hill I can get a better vantage point up there I thought as I ran. Once I reached the top I looked around. I looked all over then when I was facing to the right side of the hill, I saw a shape on the ground. I froze in fear of what… or who it might be.
I rushed down the hill and came up closer to the object, praying that it was not Marshall. As I got closer, I slowed down and stopped when I saw what it was… it was Marshall.
He was lying there, bullet holes decorating his body and a pool of blood surrounding him.
"M-Marsh-Marshall?" I said my voice cracking and shaky. I staggered a bit and slowly started forward.
My legs felt weak and shaky as I staggered on, my chest tightened and squeezed as I got closer to him.
"oh… There you are, Marshall" I stammered as I continued to get closer, tears streaming down my face.
"No... No... Why..." I chocked as I got closer
"I've waited S-So long to see you," I said as I got up to him. I dropped to the ground and lifted him up with my paws. The sticky blood warm and gooey as it got into my fur.
"M-Marshall, p-please open your eyes, tell me that you are ok" I said as hysteria sunk in. I could suppress it no longer, and a sound filled the air.
I did not know what the sound was, but it shocked me when I realized it was coming from me. I nuzzled my face into Marshall's fur and cried. The sound was my heartbreaking as I held the one that I loved in my arms… cold and dead.
"Please! C-Come back to Me Marshall! I Don't Want To Live Without You! I Love You!" I cried in agony.
"Why did you wait so long to tell me?"
I looked down to see him looking up at me, "Marshall!" I cried in relief
Then he disappeared in smoke, all that was let was his blood covering my fur. I looked around franticly "Marshall!?"
I kept looking but I could not see him, "Marshall!" I screamed
Suddenly the world started to spin, faster and faster.
"MARSHALL!" I wailed when suddenly the earth disappeared, and I started to fall. I screamed as I fell seeing the world hurting towards me
"I don't want to die like this" I cried
"I still have to tell Marshall my feelings for him" I said as I saw the ground get closer and closer.
I gasped and sat up looking around. I was in a room, drenched in my own sweat.
"I was dreaming" I sighed in relief.
I felt my eyes burning from crying and I wiped them off. I looked around the room and realized I was on a medical table.
"Where am I?" I wondered out loud
"ah, your finally awake" a voice said
I turned to see a figure standing by a door, the light shining behind him caused his face to be completely covered in shadow.
"who are you?" I asked growling defensively
"wow, I'm hurt. I know it's been a while but don't tell me you forgot about me already?" the voice said then the dog stepped into the light and I realized it was Shawn.
"Shawn?" I said surprised and relieved
"yep, how are you? looks like you've been through hell since I last saw you" he said grabbing his gear.
"I'm fine… wait where is Olivia?" I asked not seeing her
"She is with Skye" he said "can you please sit?" he asked
I nodded and did as he asked
"I hear you and Skye fought?" he asked as he put his stethoscope on and warmed it up
"yeah" I said dryly
"the guard said you both seemed to be out for blood?" he inquired as he placed the sensor on my chest
"well, she was being an asshole" I stated in a matter of fact tone
"sit up on your hindquarters please" Shawn asked and I sat up for him
"wow, Skye did a number on you" he said looking at my body
"I must have done the same" I said rather proudly.
Shawn looked up and I caught his glare "that is not something to be proud of Little lady" he said rebukingly
He hasn't said that since we first met?! I thought suddenly getting nervous
He realized that I was in shock and smirked "Ah, I see you still remember that nickname I used once before" he said
I was silent as he checked on me. I could tell he was not happy; I could probably take a guess why.
"so, wanna tell me why you and Skye attempted to kill each other?" he asked, answering my previous thought.
"I don't know" I said coarsely
"Not a good enough answer little lady. I need you to lay down, belly up" he commanded
"What? Why?" I asked confused
"To make sure you're not bleeding on your stomach still" he said straightforward
I laid down as instructed, "now I want a real answer Everest" Shawn said in an ominous tone that scared me
"I Don't Know!" I repeated then I felt a sharp pain in my hindquarters and yelped
"Wrong answer Little lady, try again" he said holding that tone
"I Really Do Not Know!" I screamed, then he smacked me twice causing me to yelp at both, my eyes started to water
"you said that you'd never do that anymore!" I said my voice cracking slightly
"Since you are going to lie like a young pup, I'm going to treat you as such. Now tell me the truth Everest!" he ordered
"She changed!" I screamed expecting something to happen but nothing happened. I looked up to see him examining the cuts on my belly.
"how?" he inquired still looking at my belly
"She… She seemed to lose faith in everything. She was not the Skye I knew!" I said trying to calm my breathing
"and you attacked her for it?" Shawn stated looking at me
"she needed to snap out of the fucking phase she was in! she was acting like a bitch!" I yelled and felt another smack and I yelped
"What the hell!" I screamed and it came again, and I felt the tears fall down my eyes
"You two should not be fighting each other, you two need to stay together to get through this. Olivia and I are the only ones here looking out for you! So to hear that you two almost killed each other for no reason, well we were more than unhappy with you two." Shawn said
"Now sit up young lady" he ordered
I quickly sat up and shifted a bit as it was a little uncomfortable, I stared at my paws as I heard Shawn put things away.
"Now, you two are best friends and you should be there for each other. Your friend is hurting and so are you… look at me Everest" he said, and I looked up.
"… this is no time to be fighting, you two need each other to get through this, don't forget it" he stated, and I nodded.
I saw him leaving and I had something I wanted to say, "Shawn"
He stopped "yes, Everest"
"can I ask you something?" I asked wiping my tears
"what is it?" he asked bluntly
"Why do you care about us so much?" I asked "both you and Olivia treat us like… one of your own. Why?"
Shawn stood there for a moment and I saw his tail drop and I heard him sigh.
"well I guess it's a long story…" he said and turned to face me
"Do you remember when I told you and Skye about my mate and pups I lost in that hurricane? And how I also said that you looked like one of my daughters?" he asked, I nodded
"well, not long after I told you that, I was assigned to work with Olivia. It did not take long for us to fall for each other. We also had something in common… we had lost our families in that same storm. She lost her husband and kids as well. When we were assigned to you, the funny thing was that Skye looked like one of her daughters too." He said smiling at the end
"But how?!" I asked shocked
"well that is rather simple, Oliva is a golden spaniel, and her late husband was a golden doodle. When they had pups one of them was a cockapoo pup." After she saw Skye for the first time during that ring fight, the resemblance between the daughter she lost and Skye… well The resemblance was practically identical and it shocked Olivia to her core, the same with me when I realized that you are a spitting image of my daughter" he said
I tilted my head still not understanding what he meant.
"After we became partners and spent more time together, I realized she was just like my previous mate and I was like her previous mate. We developed a bond because of the two of you… if it was not for you two, I don't think we would have become mates." He said
My eyes widened "us?" I asked
"yep. That's it in a nutshell." He said
"Wow" was all I could say.
"Now, you and Skye need to make up. We might not be able to see you two again, so stay together, for our sakes." he said
"What do you mean?" I asked confused once again
"We heard that we might be reassigned soon. This might be the last time we see each other." Shawn said
"Really?!" I gasped
"Yes, stay alive and return to your friends. If we could help you, we would but there is too much at risk." Shawn said
I did not know what to say
"goodbye Everest" Shawn said
"Wait!" I said
"I have to go" he insisted
"one last thing" I insisted
He sighed "what would you like to know?"
"Her name?" I asked
"what?" he asked confused
"your daughter's name?" I asked
"her name was Genna" he said
"Thank you… and thank you for caring and looking out for us Shawn" I said smiling
"You are welcome. Goodbye Everest" he said walking to the door
"goodbye Shawn" I said as he walked out

Skye's POV:
I opened my eyes to find that I was high above the clouds. I looked around and realized I was flying. I looked at myself and realized I was in my Air Patrol gear. The clouds flying past my feet, they are cold and soft to the touch, my paw wet as I pulled it out. Then I heard an explosion above me, and when I looked up, I saw a shape in the clouds above me.
Then the clouds opened up and I saw something falling towards me, as it got closer I realized it was a pup. As the pup passed me I saw who it was… it was Chase! He plummeted past me just inches in front of me.
"Chase!" I screamed as I dove down after him in a straight nosedive.
He did not respond as we came out of the clouds and the ground came into sight
"Chase! Wake up!" I screamed still pursuing him as we fell to earth
Then I got close enough to grab him
"Chase, Please Wake Up! You Need to Deploy Your Wings!" I cried desperately, shaking him
Then I saw that his pack was destroyed beyond repair. Suddenly there was another explosion and then I felt something slam into my back and I saw my own pack destroyed. Fear flushed over my whole body as we fell faster than before.
"Please Chase, Wake Up! Save Me Chase! I Don't Want You to Leave Me!" I screamed
Suddenly I realized we were about to hit the ground and I hugged Chase's body closer and closed my eyes. when I opened them, I gasped for air and I looked around frantically. I realized I was in a room and I was sitting on an examination table that I've seen at Katies pet parlor when she does checkups on us.
"Where am I?" I grumbled to no one in particular.
"ah I see you up now" a voice said
I quickly sat up "who's there… woah" I said getting dizzy
"Woah now, not so fast, you need to lay back down" the voice said
"Who are you?" I asked steadying myself and laying back down
"wow I'm hurt you don't remember me, Skye" the voice said
I looked up just in time to see Olivia step out into the light.
"oh, I'm sorry Olivia. I couldn't tell that it was you." I asked laying my head back down
"Yep, it is me. How are you doing, looks like you've been through hell since I last saw you?" she asked grabbing her gear from her bag
"I'm fine… where Is Shawn?" I asked
"He is with Everest" she said, "could you sit up for me?" she asked, and I did as instructed
"I hear you and Everest got into a fight. Is that right?" she asked as she put her stethoscope on and warmed it up
"yeah" I said matter of fatly
"The guards said you both seemed to be out for blood when they stopped you?" Olivia investigated as she placed the sensor on my chest
"well, she was being a bitch" I stated in a matter of fact tone
"Could you sit up on your hindquarters please?" Olivia asked and I did as he asked
"wow she did some damage on you" she stated looking over my body
"yeah, but I know I did a number on her" I said proudly
I glanced down and caught her glare, and I froze and became nervous.
"That is definitely not something to be proud of young lady" she chastised sternly
I swallowed in fear and realized I was in trouble by the tone of her voice
"I need to check your belly for injuries ant to make sure it stopped bleeding, lay down on your back please" Olivia ordered
I quickly did as she ordered as I did not want to anger her anymore.
"So… tell me why you and Everest attempted to kill each other?" she asked with a knowing tone in her voice
"I don't know" I stated
"Wrong answer" Olivia said ominously, and I felt a sharp pain in my rear
"OW! What the fuck!" I screamed and immediately felt two more sharp smacks to my rear causing me to yelp in pain.
"What a mouth on your young lady, now I want a real answer Skye, Why were you and Everest trying to kill each other?" she demanded more ominously than before.
"I Really do not know!" I said on the verge of screaming
Olivia shook her head "Wrong answer little lady" then I felt three particularly stronger smacks to my hindquarters, and I yelped at each one and I felt tears falling down my face.
"If you are going to lie to me like a young pup then I'm going to keep treating you as such. Now I'll ask again, why did you two fight each other?" Olivia demanded sharply
"Because Everest Pissed me off with what she said!" I screamed half crying and nothing happened when I said it. I yelped and something touched my stomach and looked up to see Olivia checking my stomach.
"what did she say?" Olivia asked calmly and completely opposite of her anger 10 seconds ago.
"S-She said that I was acting like a moping puppy and that I lost faith in the one I love… even though he might be… dead!" I said half crying from the pain and from my feelings.
"alright sit up" Olivia said gently, and I did as I was asked. When I sat up, I realized that Olivia was sitting next to me and wrapped her front paw around me, at that moment I just cried in her chest. She said nothing until I had calmed down a little.
"Skye, I know that It must be hard for you, but fighting Everest is not the way to go about it. You two need to stick together to get through this. Shawn and I are the only ones here who are looking out for you and I have to say we were beyond upset to hear you both almost killed each other" Olivia said
"I-I'm sorry" I said hiccupping at the start
"I know, But you two are best friends and you both need to be there for each other. You are hurting and so is Everest… Skye look at me" Olivia said pausing for a moment. I did not look up so she tilted my head up to look at her.
"… so this is no time to fight each other, You need to stick together to beat this, do you understand?" she asked and I nodded in response
"good, and don't you forget it." she said with a smile and I smiled back. She then hopped down and turned to finish pathing me up. once she was done she headed to the door.
"Olivia" I said
She stopped "yes, Skye"
"can I ask you something?" I asked wiping my tears
"what is it?" she asked
"Why do you care about us so much?" I asked "both you and Shawn treat us like… one of your own pups. Why is that?" I inquired
Olivia stood there for a moment and I saw her give a smile that was happy but sad I heard her sigh.
"well I guess it's a long story…" she said and turned to face me
"Do you remember when Shawn told you and Everest about how he lost his family in that hurricane? She asked, I nodded
"well, I too lost my old mate and two pups in that very same storm. Then I was recruited to this gang and met Shawn, not too long after that you two came along and both Shawn and I were put in charge of taking care of you. It did not take long for us to fall for each other. After we first met you both we both made a startling discovery, Everest looked identical to one of Shawn's daughters and you… well, you are the spitting image of my daughter." She said smiling at the end
"But how?!" I asked shocked
"Well that is rather simple, I'm a golden spaniel, and my late husband was a golden doodle. When we had pups one of them was a cockapoo pup… like yourself." She said smiling and I realized that my mouth was hanging open.

Wow, identical copies of Shawn and Olivia's children, talk about two in a million. Skye and Everest must feel pretty lucky to have two dogs who care about the, that much... and maybe a little pain. Will we ever see Shawn and Olivia again? Will Skye and Everest be able to make up after that fight? What will the plan be for the Paw Patrol to get the girls out? all these questions and more to be answered soon.
