"You know your bed is really comfortable; I like it" Andy stated snuggling closer to Robert. "You're welcome to sleep in it anytime" Robert replied, giving her a quick kiss on her forehead.
Robert and Andy had just gotten off of shift earlier that morning and they celebrated Roberts promotion with a movie date on the couch and a toast with champagne and they were now laying on top of his bed.
Andy looked over at Robert and slowly began rubbing against his chest deciding on different ways to start the conversation that she had been meaning to talk about for a while now.
"What's wrong Andy?" Robert asked softly. "Nothing really I just want to ask you a question" she replied.
"Was it hard in the marines?" Andy asked in a whisper of which she wasn't sure Robert heard but he did. "I mean you don't have to answer, I understand if it's hard to talk about so soon"she added.
"No, I'll answer it,I have no problem. Physically yes it was hard with working daily in the hot sun and constantly moving around doing our assignments and drills and mentally it was even harder because there was a constant worry of "If I didn't make it" and that messed me up some days but I decided not to think too much of it and emotionally it was just hard not being here with Ripley and in my hometown and then towards the end of course being with you" he replied talking slowly to avoid any sudden urge of emotion to spring from him.
"Were you ever hurt?" Andy asked wanting to know more but still making sure that he was comfortable talking about it.
"Yes but it was nothing too serious. I actually got a pretty bad cut one day in the field and I had to get a couple stitches from the medics and it left a scar on my side" Robert started lifting his shirt a little to show her the scar.
"I won't push any further today but I just want you to know that I love you and I'm always here for you so if you need me just come to me" Andy said holding his hand and placing a quick kiss to it.
"I know love and I won't leave you out. I've been pretty closed off due to some things that happened in my past but with you I feel like it'll come easy it's just I need a little time before I jump straight into it" Robert replied looking up at Andy.
Andy decided to not respond to his statement because she knew that there was always a reason for his quietness and while she was glad to know the reason she felt that the topic needed to end there so she gave him a reassuring smile and stroked the side of his cheek.
"I know that I'm all new to the station and I haven't interacted much but um how does the team respond to me?" he asked laughing.
"I mean you're very tall and your voice is very strong which can be intimidating so I mean they were a little upset about it but it's up to you to make your team like you but like you to the point they'll still listen and follow your commands" she answered.
"Do you like me being your captain?" Robert asked, moving closer to Andy.
"I mean I like seeing you in work clothes and watching how you take authority over us so I think that's a yes" Andy said smiling looking over to Robert.
Robert decided that since it was getting later into the evening he would go start on an early dinner for the both of them and Andy decided to take a quick shower.
"Hope pasta is ok" Robert said as Andy came into the kitchen.
"Anything you make is more than ok for me and I hope you don't mind that I borrowed one of your shirts;uh I only carry a handful of extra clothes in my overnight work bag" Andy stated already knowing he wouldn't mine.
"It's fine you could even keep it if you like I have plenty" Robert replied handing her a bowl of the steamy pasta that was just made.
"Thanks for the meal. I enjoy spending days off with you. We should do this more" she said, winking at him which made him laugh in return.
Andy then picked her phone up from the counter of which she then realized she had a couple missed calls from the team and a few messages as well so she decided to call back.
"Hi Vic what's up?" Andy asked signaling to Robert to not make any noise.
"We were all calling to see if you wanted to stop by for a game evening we're not drinking, just a casual hangout" she responded in a louder tone due to the various background noises.
"Um how about I come to the next one I kind of already had my day planned out and I would hate to bail on it" Andy stated hoping that she was really convincing enough to let Vic end the call but of course that never happens.
"Oh so your with Sullivan well I can't stop you from that I'll uh make up an excuse for you and have fun" Vic said in a whisper of which turned into laughter.
"See you at the next shift and thanks for the cover" Andy responded before hanging up the call and giving her focus back to Robert.
"When are we planning on telling the team as a whole?" Robert asked clearly piecing together the conversation between Andy and Vic.
"Not right now but soon I just want to spend a little more time soaking you up for myself before the comments of you being both my boss and boyfriend start floating around" Andy responded taking another bite of her food.
"Fair enough whenever you're ready I'm ready" Robert said, taking a sip of his iced tea.
They sat and ate their meals and Andy then decided to wash the dishes and Robert went and took a shower and after they sat together watching TV and then Robert got a call from Ripley.
"Andy there's a three alarm fire and it's getting bad Ripley said he just went on scene and we most likely will be called in soon so we have to head to the station" Robert said in which Andy then got up quickly.
They changed into their uniforms and drove to the station in separate cars and got there pretty quickly. They checked the trucks for all needed supplies and Robert gave the instructions and they waited it out up in the beanery.
"So work interrupted us but that was an intense game we should totally bring it here and play again" Travis said excitedly to everyone around the table.
"It was fun until Gibson tried to cheat in the end" Maya said, drinking from her water bottle.
"Didn't cheat Maya, just take your loss" he responded laughing.
*5 ALARM/REQUESTING ALL UNITS/OCEAN-LANE DRIVE*
"19 that's us, make all decisions your best decisions" Robert shouted running into the trucks.
They got dressed and loaded up into the cars and made the speedy drive down to the requested spot. They quickly got there and finished suiting up before moving over to Ripley who gave them their positions.
Robert took in the scenery and took a deep breath. He was more than trained for this job and he knew he was ready to take on the blazing fire that was raging from the building but he needed a few seconds before he could move. He stood still for all of five seconds until the sound of an explosion was heard in the distance which made Robert jump.
"You ok" Andy whispered to him and pulled him behind the truck.
"Ya I'm good just still a little paranoid but I'm good don't worry" Robert responded and he knew he was good;he's been fine for a while and now it was just time to go in and contain the fire.
"If you need a break take it and be safe I love you" Andy said with a hint of worry in her voice before giving him a quick kiss and running off to help her team.
"Be safe I love you too" Robert replied even though he knew Andy was long gone he still said it and meant every word just a little stronger.
Ripley quickly took notice of the explosion and reevaluated everyone's position and then he noticed Robert standing by the trucks so he ran over to him.
"Robert it's ok we're ok" he said patting his back gently.
"I know I'm fine Lucas trust me I'm fine just a slight worry but it only lasted a second I need to be a Captain and do my job so If you could let me do that it'll be great" Robert replied before shaking his hand and running over to help his team.
After 2 hours of fighting the fiery flames the fire was now contained and clean up was now on scene and everyone was sent back to the station.
"Good work 19 clean up and you're all dismissed until the morning for our regular shift" Robert said before going into his office of which Andy followed.
"Andy babe I'm good I promise" Robert said, removing his shirt and going into his bunk room.
Andy already told the team she left for the night so she knew they wouldn't come looking for her so she went and locked the door and the blinds and sat on Roberts' bed.
"I know you're good and I also know you're probably not going to talk about it but I'm just showing you that I'm here and that I can see you so your not alone" Andy said in a lighter tone to convey her support in the best way she could.
Robert shook his head and smiled in acknowledgement and went and took a quick shower and quickly came back out to see that Andy was in fact still there. He soon realized she wasn't leaving so he quickly changed into his clothes and led her out to sit by his desk with him.
"Just so you know I said it back to you before you ran into the building" Robert stated breaking the thick silence that was settled upon the room.
"I know even though I obviously didn't hear it" Andy responded.
She looked up at him and wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a hug of which Robert immediately responded too and hugged her back.
"You mean a lot to me " Andy said in a light whisper against Roberts' ear.
"So do you " Robert said looking up to her and placing a kiss.
Andy couldn't take it anymore. She felt a surge of power run through her veins which caused her to drop everything and just indulge in the moment. She began kissing Robert passionately which turned into a heated make out session.
"Baby wait" Robert said, holding her back and looking up at her.
"Robert I know what I said about hooking up at the station but I need this right now and trust me nobody is here they all left we weren't on shift only just called in so please" Andy begged hoping that he would comply with her aching needs just this one time.
She also wasn't too sure that everyone had left just yet but she was planning on staying quiet seeing that "D" shift was out and around the station.
Robert took her by surprise and reintensified the moment. He pulled up her shirt and took it off followed by his and then they were soon completely naked and ready for their moments of love.
They went in as quiet as they could hoping to not make a single sound as they were laid up back in the bunk. They moved with one another like they loved and enjoyed doing and soon after they lied there panting and smiling from their heated moments.
"That was more than amazing" Andy said slowly regaining her breathing.
"Let's go back to my place and have a real good night's sleep" Robert said, getting up to redress himself.
"I would love nothing more than to cuddle up next to you and fall asleep" Andy replied, redressing herself as well.
Robert fixed back up his bunk room and office and turned off the lights and locked the door. Andy had already left to his house a few minutes prior just in case of any wandering eyes. Robert soon left the station and went back over to his house.
As they entered the room they decided on a joint shower and after their showers they did their nightly routines and went to bed for their shift in the morning.
