In front of her was a gravely injured wolf that was sprawled next to a cooking pot. The wolf had a huge cut across its belly; massive amounts of blood were pouring out of the wolf every second and the open flesh had already started to attract nearby insects. Horrified by the sight, Lumine crouched down and quickly grabbed a piece of clothing from her inventory. She tied it around the wolf's wound tightly and applied pressure on it.
"Don't die on me. Please…" Lumine croaked out.
Seeing the wolf's pained form ignited a burst of anger within her. As her gaze fell momentarily upon the cooking pot, Lumine felt her stomach drop abruptly. They were planning on eating the wolf. Lumine tore her attention away from the boiling pot and focused back on saving the wolf. How could they hurt such a majestic creature?
Meanwhile, Amber noticed that Lumine had changed directions and was sitting to the right of the Hilichurls' camp. 'What is she doing?' Amber questioned in her head. She was too far to see what Lumine was doing and decided to head over. Silently, she motioned Paimon to follow her lead as they crept toward the place Lumine had stopped at. Amber had barely moved a few steps when she saw a group of Hilichurls sneaking up behind Lumine's still figure. Amber sprang up from her crouched position and began sprinting desperately towards the blond girl. But she was too far away. All she could do was warn her.
"Lumine!" Amber shrieked.
Stunned by Amber's sudden scream, Lumine whirled her head around to look for Amber. Instead, what she saw was a group of Hilichurls jumping on her. She winced as a bat grazed her face and she felt blood dripping down her cheek. Her initial reaction was to grab her sword and slash them, but her seated position made it extremely difficult to reach her sword. And so Lumine relied on her second instinct; she channeled all of her anger at the Hilichurls into her palm and hoped that her power would come through. And it did. A strong gust of wind burst out of her palm as she released her hold on the wolf and instead pushed her hand towards the Hilichurls. In an instant, all of the Hilichurls had been knocked down.
Lumine was breathless as she saw the group of defeated monsters dissipate into the air and she noticed that a few of them dropped masks before they disappeared. With the immediate threat gone, she reverted her attention to the wolf that had begun to bleed rapidly again. She gently set her hands on top of the wolf before she felt something above her. Glancing up, she was surprised to see the wolfish-looking boy hovering over her. His eyes froze upon the injured wolf before he peered down and maintained eye contact with Lumine. His silky white hair fell next to her face as their faces became inches apart.
"You save him. Thank you. Name?"
It finally clicked. Lumine had first met this boy at Wolvendom, where he gave her a wolf's fang. She smiled faintly before answering his question.
"I'm Lumine. Nice to see you again, Razor."
He nodded slightly before he sat next to Lumine, their bodies touching each other. He placed his hand on top of hers and helped apply pressure to the wolf's wound. Lumine was startled by his sudden gesture but made no sound. His hot hands warmed up her cold ones as they sat there in silence.
"Lumine! Paimon thought you were dead meat! I'm glad you're safe." The tiny girl broke the silence.
Behind her was Amber, who was huffing and puffing after sprinting across the distance. She breathed heavily and smiled brightly at Lumine.
"I was so worried about you!" The archer stated as she made her way towards Lumine and Razor.
"By the way, who's he? And what is this smell? I– Oh my Barbatos! What is this?!"
The archer was flabbergasted at the sight of the wolf. She immediately signaled Paimon over to the bloody scene.
"Paimon! Can you teleport back to Mondstadt and report this to Barbara? Ask her to come and heal this wolf."
"I don't know who Barbara is, Amber!"
"I guess I have no choice but to go with you. Lumine, make sure you and that boy continue to look over that wolf! We'll be back with a healer in no time."
Amber began sprinting back in the direction of the teleport waypoint and Paimon trailed behind her. As soon as the girls departed, Razor shifted his focus to the blond girl next to him.
"Lumine. Give tooth to me."
Lumine felt a little disappointed when the boy took his hands off of hers. She ignored that thought and looked for the tooth instead. She found it quickly and handed it to Razor before pressing her hands on the wolf's stomach once again.
Razor examined the fang carefully before he turned his attention to the girl instead. He slowly stretched his hand outwards and cupped Lumine's cheek.
She felt a tingling, hot sensation when he touched her and she could feel herself reddening. She snuck a glance at Razor, who stared at the wound on her face and gently wiped the blood off of her.
Razor continued to touch Lumine's soft cheek, savoring each second that lasted. He wasn't sure what he was feeling, but he didn't want to release his hand from her skin. Sighing, he slowly withdrew his hand and noticed that the girl shivered slightly before turning her head away. A small smile grew on his lips when he saw Lumine's adorable reaction.
Lumine watched as Razor wiped her blood on the fang, which started emitting purple lightning sparks after Razor smeared her blood on it. The blood sank into the fang and quickly disappeared. After that, Razor seemed satisfied as he handed the wolf fang back to Lumine.
"Use when danger. It will protect you. I come rescue you." He spoke as he placed the gift into Lumine's delicate hands.
"Thank you, Razor. It's beautiful."
Happy with Razor's gift, Lumine placed the wolf fang into her inventory bag, where she knew that it would stay safe with her. The pair continued to press against the wolf's stomach together, with Lumine's hands on top of Razor's this time.
