[BACKSTORY]
Robert and Andy kept on going to work like they did normally. Andy kept going on small calls and everything was still a secret within the team. She placed an appointment but they only had an available appointment the next month after she had found out so she booked it for then.
[1 MONTH LATER] -9AM-
{Andys POV}
I knew today was the day I was finally going to be able to see our little bean. I had grown a little bigger in size since finding out I was pregnant earlier last month. I was excited but nervous because I knew I had to take the first 2 hours off of work and I knew there was going to be a lot of questions about what happened.
A:"Good Morning" she said to Robert rubbing the side of his face
R:"Mmmmm Andy" he responded not fully awake yet
A:"Get up we have to go see little bean in an hour"
R:"I'm up go get ready first and I'll get ready after"
*Andy then left to go take a shower and do her morning routine she finally finished in the bathroom in about 45 minutes and she came out and noticed Robert sitting on the edge of the bed*
A:"Yes Robert"
R:"Nothings wrong you just took forever" he said standing up to kiss her cheek
A:"Well being pregnant supposedly makes simple takes just that harder"
R:"You could've asked for help" he said
A:"Then we would've been late"
R:"Babe do you see the time it's 8:45 our appointment is at 9:30 and we live like 10 minutes from the place"
A:"Ok but I knew I was going to take long now go get ready"
*They both finished getting ready dressed in their crew shirts. They packed their overnight bags into the car like always and Andy went back in and grabbed her water bottle with a granola bar and some fruit to eat on the way*
R:"You really do take a while now" he said noticing it took her a while to come back out to the car
A:"Robert this is your child I'm carrying"
R:"And that's all the better because I wouldn't want anyone else to carry my babies"
A:"Just drive to the appointment" she said
R:"Are you happy?" he asked holding her hand
A:"Ya I'm happy to see the little bean but I'm not happy that soon I would have nothing to wear and I won't be able to be a badass firefighter"
R:"You will have something to wear babe and you'll still be at the firehouse"
A:"Really you think listening to that phone ring all day is fun?"
R:"No but you'll have me"
A:"By that time I'll be glued to a chair"
R:"Then we'll be glued together"
*They then approached the hospital and went up to the maternity section. They filled out all the necessary documents and they then took a seat to wait for the doctor*
R:"Isn't it crazy that we're not at Grey Sloan?"
A:"Ya but that place is like family and if I know one thing about them is they can't keep a secret for too long so I rather get appointments here and I'll deliver there when everyone would already know"
R:"That's really smart thinking"
*The doctor then came out and called them back*
D:"Hi my name is and I'll be your maternity doctor. Is this your first child might I ask"
A:"Yes it is our first one"
D:"Ok so Andrea you can sit up on this bed and your husband can sit on the stool beside you and watch from the monitor"
A:"Ok"
D:"First I'll be applying this semi cold gel to your stomach and then I'll place this wand and it should detect a heartbeat and you should see your little baby on this screen ok" she said giving them the instructions
A:"Ok got it"
*She placed the gel on Andys stomach and she then placed the wand she soon discovered the heartbeat and she then saw the baby and measured it*
D:"Ok Andrea it seems to be your about 12 weeks pregnant which puts you at around 3 months. I'll finish up here with some pictures and a prescription for some vitamins for you and baby. No hard labor on your lower body and you should be good. Experience any pains go straight to your nearest emergency department"
A:"Thank you so much "
R:"Thank you"
D:"No problem see you again in 4 weeks and we can find out the gender then. I'll get you out of here soon. Congratulations on your new addition"
*She then left the room which gave Andy and Robert some time to talk about the news*
R:"Your 12 weeks already?"
A:"Yup baby is supposedly pretty big"
R:"I love you so much and I get wait to see our little bean" he leaned over and kissed her
A:"I love you too baby"
R:"We're telling the team right" he asked hesitantly
A:"We're telling them" she smiled back at him
*The doctor came and gave Andy her prescription and the pictures and they were cleared to leave*
[AT THE STATION]
M:"I wonder what the Sullivans are up to this morning they're already two hours late"
T:"They're probably you know doing grown up things" he said
V:"Shouldn't they you know leave that for the night time"
J:"When you want it you want it" he said laughing
D:"Shhh someone is coming over here"
*Robert and Andy both entered the garage where the team was all standing cleaning and restocking the trucks*
R:"19 I see your all doing your chores thank you but.." he turned to Andy
A:"We have an announcement to make so If you could please stop and face us that would be great" the team responded to what she said and all eyes where on them both
R:"I know you guys still have lingering assumptions about your Battalion Chief marrying your Lieutenant but I think you guys should know this information because your Andys other family so.."
A:"We're adding onto the family because I'm pregnant!" she said holding tightly onto Roberts hand seeing all the faces her team made
M:"Awww Andy that's happy for you guys" she said giving Andy a hug and breaking the silence
T:"I love you Andy and I know I'll love your baby too. Congratulations you guys" he said
J:"Chief;Andy Congratulations on your addition" he said from a distance still wiping the trucks
V:"Awww go mama Andy I'm excited someone new to hold and be around. Congratulations you guys" she said hugging Andy
B:"Congratulations!"
A:"Thank you guys I appreciate the love but this momma is tired so I'm going to the desk"
R:"Thank you 19 you know your assignments for the shift. Herrera is on Aid Car for today"
*Robert went back inside the station to go up to his office but he decided to stop at the desk to see Andy*
R:"Hi baby"
A:"Robert I literally just sat down no need to watch over me you know"
R:"I'm not watching you I'm saying goodbye to you before I disappear upstairs"
A:"Goodbye my love" she turned around and gave him a kiss
R:"Before you forget your on Aid Car today so please be safe"
A:"I'll be as safe as I can now go to work"
*Andy stayed at the desk for what seemed like forever watching the team go out on ladder and engine calls. She received a few walk ins but that was all so she decided to get a yogurt and some strawberries and went back to the desk*
V:"Someone is on full pregnant mode" she said walking down to see Andy
A:"I thought you guys were on a call?"
V:" We just pulled back in"
M:"What's this guys" she questioned
A:"Nothing really just a pregnant lady snacking and I was just about to ask Vic about the call"
V:"It was car accident that wasn't too big no one was pronounced dead so that's a plus"
M:"How are you holding up? You miss being on calls?" she asked
A:"Well considering I'm measuring 12 weeks I'm not super big but I'm not small either and I am constantly eating and my feet are starting to hurt but that's about it. I miss being an actual lieutenant not a stay put only go on medical calls person"
V:"Well your husbands the chief and you don't want to endanger the sweet little baby"
A:"I know.I'll do everything I can to make sure he or she is safe considering it's now my priority because I'm a mommy"
M:"I'm happy for you Andy seriously it's nice seeing you get back into things"
A:"Thank you guys for being my friends I had a rough year but it's getting better now so I'm happy for that"
V:"If you ever need us you know our numbers and where we'll be so call us"
A:"Thank you"
*They left to go shower and Andy finished her snack and she then got called to a scene. Shift ended pretty soon after and everyone went home*
[GENDER REVEAL] -4 weeks later-
*Robert and Andy got up and ready and they were now back at the doctor's office to see the gender of their baby*
R:"Ready to see what we're having?" he asked her
A:"Yes I'm ready to see what little bean is so we can have a real name and actually shop and decorate"
R:"You know Andy you've grown a lot over these weeks" he said rubbing her belly
A:"I know everything is starting to slowly hurt and soon I won't be able to do normal things"
R:"I'll help you and so will Vic and Maya you know there obsessed with the baby already"
A:"I love them but they're only helping me at the station and maybe at the house. A wife needs time with her husband"
R:"Oh really time you say" he said lifting an eyebrow at her
A:"Robert stop we're not doing that kind of time no time soon sorry love"
R:"But baby" he said pleading for her to change her answer
A:"As much as I enjoy our private time I don't have energy to do that so it'll just fail and be unsatisfying"
R:"Your never unsatisfying" he whispered in her ears which made her smile
*The doctor then called them back*
A:"Hi "
D:"Andrea and how are feeling today"
R:"Hmm pretty excited"
D:"Are you taking your vitamins?" she asked
A:"Yes exactly at the right time"
D:"No physical labor work?"
A:"Nope same old stuff like last time"
D:"Great now we'll need blood work today and you'll be finding out your gender but you know the drill"
A:"Ok"
*She did the blood work and now she was placing the wand and gel on her stomach*
D:"Ok Mr and Mrs Sullivan it looks to be your having a precious little girl" she said pressing the button to capture the picture
R:"We're having a daughter baby" he said holding her hand and giving her a kiss
A:"Your happy?"
R:"Yes she's going to be beautiful"
D:"Here's some more pictures and your all set to leave"
[IN THE CAR]
R:"Baby I'm so proud of you" he said holding her hand
A:"Thank you. Now that we know the gender what's going to be her name?" she asked
R:"We'll we thought of two girl names so pick and tell me. I like both either way"
A:"How about we go with Brinley Grace Sullivan" she said smiling at him
R:"Perfect love. I'm happy that.."
A:"Let's go home and sleep"
R:"Really baby sleep is what you want to do in the mid afternoon" he responded laughing
A:"Pregnancy is both happy and tiring so I choose to sleep"
R:"Ok we'll sleep and relax"
A:"I have to tell our gender reveal planner everything before the station questions us"
R:"Well we didn't exactly tell them what appointment we had today so we're safe to still plan it for another month"
A:"That's perfect!"
[GENDER REVEAL PARTY] -A month later-
*It had been about 6 weeks since Andy and Robert found out the gender of their baby and Andy was now 22 weeks so she was significantly bigger and was going well within the pregnancy. She planned a gender reveal with a planner at a small park and today was the day to reveal the gender to the team*
R:"You look very gorgeous wifey" he said kissing her
A:"Thanks love you look and smell delicious as well. Our daughter is getting so big" she said looking in the mirror at her stomach
R:"We have about less than 4 months"
A:"I'm scared but excited to take on this journey with you"
R:"Me too let's go now before we're late to our own event"
*They arrived to the park and everything was set up very simple but cute just the way Andy wanted it to be*
M:"Hey Andy" she said approaching her in her chair
A:"Hi Maya thank you for coming"
M:"You think I'm missing this oh no I've been waiting for this day because I'm about to swipe my card on this precious baby" she said rubbing her belly
A:"You don't have to do that you know"
M:"Of course not but I'm still doing it right Vic" she said as she also approached them
V:"Say what now?" she asked
M:"Remember what we talked about earlier at the station after calls"
V:"Oh ya were definitely doing it Andy and we're not backing out"
A:"Ok you guys win just don't show up at my house without letting me know first"
M:"Oh noooo Andy I'm never doing that"
V:"Ya we don't want to see Chief without clothes or worse doing the you know what" she said
A:"Guys stop we're not doing any of that but I can't promise the first one to you we both just walk around in our robes so ya definitely call me"
R:*clears his throat* "What's going on here?" he asked clearly knowing what was said
A:"Just telling them don't show up unannounced because we could be doing something"
R:"Babe stop you know that embarrassing right" he whispered in her ear
A:"Get used to it they've heard far much worse" she said standing up to kiss him
A:"This mama is getting tired yet again so let's pop this balloon shall we" she said
*Everyone gathered around Andy and Robert and considering they didn't t have much friends it was pretty much just the station and a couple of other close friends to Robert*
R:"1...2...3..."
*They both popped the balloon together and pink confetti and glitter poured out everywhere*
A:"We're having a baby girl!" She said to the team and then turned to Robert and gave him a kiss
V:"Another girl to our family" she said hugging Andy
M:"Congratulations mama Andrea"
*Everyone gave their congratulations on the gender and they just finished partying until they got tired and decided to call it an evening*
