"Kaito can you stop bothering me?" Heiji said annoyed to Kaito who keeps cheering Shiho's name.
"Hey man! I'm just singing ok?" He smiled widely.
"I told you I'm not into her." Heiji said.
"J-E-A-L-O-U-S" Kaito yelled.
"Who's jealous?" Saguru suddenly appeared out of nowhere and asked them.
They look at him.
"Nothing." Heiji said.
Heiji's eyes are back on his computer typing some case files. They are in their office, the room is very comfortable and it has a 4 computer owned by them. Shinichi used to work there but he stopped when his wife died.
"Heiji is Jealous!" Kaito spilled it.
Saguru eyes got widen.
"Really? So there's somebody dating Kazuha?" He asked.
"Not Kazuha but Shiho." Kaito said.
"Hey don't listen to him!" Heiji said without looking at them.
"He's making up a story." Heiji added.
"Wait- you like Shiho?" Saguru asked.
"No but idiot Kaito is assuming things." He said.
Saguru looks at Kaito.
"If Shiho hears you I'm pretty sure she will slap you on your face." Said Saguru.
"Who's the mad guy yesterday when we saw Shinichi being a gentleman to Shiho..." Kaito teased.
"For real?" Saguru asked.
"Yeah he open the car door for her." Kaito smiled.
"Kaito I swear if you don't shut your mouth up I'll give you a hundred fishes waiting In your house." Heiji looks at him and smiled.
"Hey no!" Kaito said.
Heiji's eyes are back again in his computer.
"Guys? Next week Akako and I will be moving together in London." Saguru announced.
"What? Why are you moving?" Kaito asked.
"My Dad said we should move there and I think it will be nice moving there and Akako also likes it." Saguru said.
"And leaving us here?" Kaito asked.
"We will always visit here anyway and we'll keep in touch so don't worry, you're still invited in my wedding." Saguru laughs.
"So its gonna be Heiji and I here will be working in this office. How sad..." Kaito said.
The door suddenly open and They see Shinichi entered the office. Shinichi walks over his table.
"Shinichi?" Kaito said confused looking.
"What are you doing here?" Kaito asked.
"This is my workplace too right?" He look at them and smirked.
Kaito stand up and hug him.
"Finally Shinichi!"
"Kaito stop hugging me." Shinichi said.
Kaito let go of him.
"I'm so happy!" Kaito said again.
"Are you really gonna work again?" Saguru asked.
"Yeah. Shiho convinced me." Shinichi simply said.
Kaito steal a look in Heiji's back. He's busy typing and didn't bother to talk to Shinichi.
"Actually she's coming here later, I told her to come here so she can join us on lunch break." Shinichi announced.
They four of them starts busying theirselves in work.
Lunch Time...
Shiho knocks on the door of their office. Shinichi open it and give her a smiled.
"Hey. I'm glad you came." Shinichi said.
Heiji watching Shinichi being weird in his eyes.
'And since when did he becomes a sweet guy?' Heiji's thoughts.
Kaito noticed him watching Shinichi and Shiho walk out from the door.
"Told you to make a move! now you're just watching!" Kaito teased.
Heiji walk away and followed Shiho and Shinichi. Kaito laughs and Saguru walk away too from him.
'Wow they all leave me here!' Kaito thoughts.
They are currently in a restaurant to eat lunch. Shiho and Shinichi are sitting next to each other while Heiji is across Shiho while Kaito is in between Heiji and Saguru.
"Hey guys please come on Friday in my house we'll have a little party." Saguru said.
Shinichi looks at him.
"A party?" Asked Shinichi.
"Yeah. Akako and I will be moving in London next week." He said.
"What about your wedding?" Shinichi asked again.
"We'll plan it there. So make sure all of you that your schedule is clear." Saguru smiled.
"We will attend your wedding ofcourse. Right Shiho?" Shinichi looks at her and smiled.
Shiho looks back at him too.
"Yeah ofcourse." She smiled at him and looks at them.
"Excuse me..." Shiho stand up.
"Gonna use comfort room?" Shinichi asked.
Shiho nods and went to the Comfort Room. Shinichi looks at them.
"I have a question." Kaito said.
"What is it?" Shinichi asked.
Kaito looks at Heiji. Heiji punch his thigh.
"aAaaHhhH" Kaito bite his lip.
"What's wrong?" Shinichi asked looking clueless.
"Do you know where the men's room? I need to pee." Kaito answered.
"To the left go straight there's a sign of men's comfort room." Shinichi said.
Kaito stand up and leave them, Shiho is back and the foods served by the waiter. They are exchanging stories about their past cases and other stuff.
After lunchbreak the four detectives went back to their office and Shiho said her goodbye and went home at the Kudo mansion.
"Shinichi how did Shiho convinced you to work again?" Kaito curiously asked.
Shinichi is sitting on his table reading a case file.
"She went in my room and force me to get up and try to be productive." He said not bother to look at his friend.
"That's it?" Kaito asked again.
"We have a deal. I'll work again and she will stay in my place to take care of me." Shinichi said.
"Take care? Why would you need her to take care of you when you can obviously take care of yourself?" Heiji said Interrupting their conversation.
Shinichi looks at Heiji.
"Because she's my partner and I am his partner, I want to spend time with her just like the old days." Shinichi smiled.
Heiji stared back at Shinichi, Kaito and Saguru watching them. Kaito fake cough and change the topic.
Shiho is in the mansion now. She's now preparing the ingredients because she will cook for their dinner for tonight. She still can't believe he's trusting her again. She feels happy because finally he's trying to change. She's daydreaming what happened in the morning earlier.
A WHILE AGO...
Shiho went to Shinichi's room to wake him up. She wants him to be productive and do something in his life to make him busy. She barged in his room and see him lying down on his bed sleeping. She walks toward him and stare at him for a while.
'He looks even cuter when he's peacefully sleeping.' Shiho's thoughts.
Shiho calls him to wake him up.
"Kudo! Wake up!" She said a little bit loud enough to wake him up.
Shinichi open his right eye and look at her.
"What are you doing?" He asked.
"Waking you up obviously!" She said.
"I'm still sleepy." He close his eyes again.
"Kudo you need to get up now!" She said. She take his arm trying to get him up but Shinichi is not moving.
"Let's go! You need to be productive!" She said.
"Go to gym or go back to work just do something C'mon!" She added.
Shinichi smiled and pull her so she can lay on his top and he did it successfully. Shiho's heart is pounding. She's so close to him.
"I'm going to work today but we need to make a deal." He said.
Shiho didn't answered she's feeling uncomfortable in their current position.
"You have to take care of me. When I feel sad you need to be by my side cause you're my partner understand?" He command.
"But you need to make yourself busy first before I can agree on your terms." She said.
Shinichi is now hugging her. She feels happy but uncomfortable at the same time.
"Can you let go now Kudo kun?" She asked.
"Stop calling me Kudo. It's been 8 years since I met you. I think it's time for you to call me Shinichi." He said.
"I used to call you Kudo I think it's better if we didn't change an-"
"Just Shinichi." He hug her tightly.
She can feel his warm body embracing her. She can also feel his boner. This is her first time being so close to a guy and experience this kind of thing. Shinichi is very special to her and she loves him so much, she doesn't say that she can feel his boner because it will make more awkward.
"Shinichi please let go I'm going to prepare our breakfast." She said.
Shinichi smiled and let go. Shiho stand up immediately and went downstairs.
AT THE MOMENT...
Shiho is done cooking. She gets her phone and see Professor calls her few times. She dial his number calls him, a few seconds passed He picks up the phone.
"Ai Kun!" Professor said on the other line.
"Hi Professor, how are you?" She asked.
"I'm really fine. I just wanted to check on you. How are you?" He asked.
"I'm good." She simply said.
"Belated Happy birthday." He greeted.
"Thank you Professor." She said happily.
"Did you celebrate with Him?" He asked curious.
"How's him anyway?" He added.
"He's good and yes we celebrated my birthday, I'm actually surprised he remembered." She happily said.
In the passed years Shiho was celebrating her birthday with Professor or sometimes by herself. Shinichi was too busy studying, working and dating Ran. He always forgot special occasions.
"That's great to hear!" He said.
"I'm so happy he gave me a necklace gift."
"He did?" He asked.
"Yeah but it's a partner in crime necklace nothing romantic." She said.
"I know you're going to tease me so I made it clear alright." She added.
Professor laughs.
"Well ok." He said.
They keep chatting on the phone. After an hour they decided to hang up the phone. Shinichi is finally home, he see her smiling while holding her phone, she's sitting on the couch.
"Hey Shiho." He said.
He's staring at her and studying her happy face. She looks at him.
"Hey there Shinichi." She said.
"Who are you talking to?" He asked in a serious tone.
"It's Hakase. he checked on me and we talk over the phone. He's been asking about you." She said.
He walk towards and sit next to her.
"What did you say?" He asked while looking in her eyes.
"I told him we celebrated my birthday and we're fine." She simply said.
"Ohh..."
"Why?" She asked.
"I missed Hakase." He said.
"You haven't talk to him since he move abroad?"
"Yeah." He said.
"Hakase is like my second father. When Ran died he wasn't around here so it makes me even more sad." He said.
"I'm sorry." She said.
She see how sad his eyes.
"Let's eat dinner now?" She change the topic.
"Let's go I'm hungry." Shinichi said.
They went to the dining area and started to eat dinner together. After eating Shiho is cleaning the table and going to wash the dishes now. Shinichi went to the sink and look at her holding the plates.
"Hey let me do the dishes now and tomorrow you'll do it. Let's help each other in house chords." He smiled.
Shinichi gets the used plates in her hands.
"Just wash your dirty hands and rest now." He said.
"You rest! you've been in your office today. Pretty sure you're tired."
"I can handle." He smiled.
"I'm not going to my room I'll be going outside and will watch the stars." She said.
"Hey wait me there! let's have a drink." He said.
"Drink? But you will go to work tomorrow aren't you?" She asked.
"Please just one bottle." He begged.
Shiho sighed.
"Fine then bring 2 drinks only, I'll be waiting outside." She said.
She went outside and left Shinichi behind. Shinichi washed the dishes right away and after that he gets a 2 beers in a can. He see her sitting in a chair. She's looking up and watching the sky. She's too peaceful and calm to look at. Shinichi watch her admiring her from where he is standing. Shiho looks at him.
"Hey!" She calls out.
Shinichi suddenly look at her.
"Hey." He said.
He walks towards and sit down in the chair near her. Shiho grab the can and smiled at him. She open it and started drinking.
"Can I ask you something?" Shinichi asked.
Shiho stopped drinking.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Have you been in love?" He asked looking straight in her eyes.
Shiho is stunned at the moment hearing his sudden question, what should she tells him without confessing to him? Shiho look at him and smiled.
"Why did you asked?" She asked.
"I asked you first right? Why don't answer me first?" He said.
She sighed. And look up at the sky. Admiring the view.
"Yes I have but it's useless so it doesn't really matter." She said.
"Why do you think it's useless?" He asked.
"Because he's never going to pick me." Her eyes seems sad.
"And I never confessed too either so it doesn't really matter." She looks at him and smiled.
"Where did you meet him?" He asked not leaving his eyes on her.
"America." She said.
"In America?" He asked.
"Yes. I saw him in the USA with his parents and some kid." She said.
"He looked fake annoyed at the young girl he's with but his eye looks interested in her." She added.
Shiho drinks again her beer.
"I rarely saw him in that mall. Maybe once a year but I know that I like him." She said.
'So she's lying? Trying not to be caught huh?' Shinichi thoughts.
"You only like that guy?" He asked again.
"I'm inlove with him. But I already accepted that he's not meant for me." She said.
She looks at him.
"Shinichi I'm not drunk ok? Why are you asking me questions huh?"
"I wanna know you more better, I want to understand you..." he softly said.
The two continued talking and drinking, Shiho got drunk because she drink too much. Shinichi is looking at her.
"Hey criminal tell me now did you sent those knives?" He asked drunk Shiho.
Shiho looks at his direction.
"I-I...ha-have...been...in lo-love...with... K-Kudo." She laughs.
And suddenly she cries.
"I love K-Kudo i-it's hurts."
Shinichi is watching her. He stand up and walking inside his mansion when he takes a look again in Shiho. She's sitting in the grass crying like crazy.
