"You do look like him," Shinobu warily conceded, studying his features before taking in his bizarre haori, the dated uniform, the blade at his hip. "…But you're not really my Tomioka-san, are you?" A blood demon technique sends Giyuu to another time, to another universe where the world is kinder, and where its Kochou Shinobu is perhaps a little too close to its Tomioka Giyuu.

Determined to stay up until sunrise, Shinobu dragged him to the nearest konbini. Considering the hour there were hardly people outside, but Giyuu remained hyperaware, much too conscious of his missing sword.

"Leave it!" Shinobu had argued. "We'll get arrested for carrying that thing around!"

"I've been arrested before."

"Sorry, what?"

"…What?"

Fortunately, the konbini's apparent novelty distracted him, and Shinobu humored his curiosity all while splurging on snacks and sweets. Giyuu eyed them with growing concern.

"Are these… fulfilling?"

"It's the satisfaction that counts!"

"That doesn't make sense."

"Nothing made sense today either, To-mi-o-ka-san."

Giyuu almost smiled. "Fair."
