Day 31 - From Michael JG Meathook: Crossover.

A/N: 221B, and another Gotham by Gaslight crossover, adding to the storyline in the other short stories (In chronological order the stories are "Candlelight, Cursed Tome, Gotham, Crossover, and First Case". Sorry if it's confusing!)

Thanks to everyone for reading and reviewing! And to Hades for organizing this fun event! :)

It was cold, not quite freezing, and rain pounded on the cobblestones outside, and ran in rivulets from the rooftop, making the air damp and cold. A damp chill seeped from the windows and door into the edges of the room, that even the fire couldn't completely remove.

"Tonight's the night, Watson," Holmes said, pulling on his overcoat and stomping about the room.

"I thought you said the creatures abhorred the cold," I protested, not looking forward to venturing into the damp cold.

"Generally, they do," Bruce said, entering the room. "Which is why now might be one of our best opportunities to take them down. If the creatures are what I suspect they are, they can't move as quickly in the cold."

"And even if the murderer isn't a legendary creature," Holmes said, "the cold and rain will make it less likely for any other interference in the case."

I couldn't argue with their reasoning, and started pulling on my overcoat and grabbing my bag, with one final longing look at the warm fireplace. It would likely be a long cold night of laying in wait for the murderer to make an appearance.

Alfred gave us all a long-suffering sigh as we headed to the door, laden with gear. He said, "I'll have something warm ready when you get back."
