Chapter 13
Sabrina gazed up at the stars and began thinking about her first days in this house. It felt like a lifetime ago. Her parents were missing, she didn't know about Everafters, Granny Relda was a stranger. It was nice being back though. Granny was so happy to see everyone and Mr. Canis and Red had to hold Elvis back from jumping on everyone until he calmed down from all the excitement.
She was glad that Elvis was doing well despite his age. She dreaded the day their furry friend left them but she knew it would happen eventually. Just like one day she would have to say goodbye to Granny. Tears welled up in her eyes but Sabrina aggressively blinked them away. She didn't want to let this bring down her mood. If anything, it should inspire her to cherish all these moments.
Granny had cooked up so many dishes that Sabrina hadn't even tried to remember what they were. She had shared a smile with Uncle Jake but both of them tried their best to eat something. Her parents, Granny, Mr. Canis and Red had eaten at a slower pace than Daphne, Puck and Basil. The two siblings and Trickster King seemed unaware of the conversations going on around them because they were so focused on the food.
After eating, Sabrina and Daphne followed Red to her room and the three girls talked about what was going on in each other's lives. Puck had taken Basil out with a mission to show him all the important landmarks. Sabrina was sure it was going to be things like where Puck's old throne is in the forest and where he found $10 behind Old McDonald's farm but she didn't think too much about it. The adults were in the living room talking and Sabrina knew Granny was enjoying every moment that her sons were with her.
For dinner, they went to the Blue Plate Special. Sabrina's mouth was watering before she even ordered her food. Everyone in the diner was happy to see them and the entire place was filled with laughter and chatter.
Sabrina was interrupted from her recollection the day by the door opening. For a moment she forgot she was in Puck's room, the sky above her looked so real. Puck and Daphne walked in with blankets and pillows with Basil following behind them. The four of them would sleep in Puck's room. This house had been broken and fixed multiple times throughout the years. One of the more recent additions had included more rooms. They had broken down one side of the house and extended it for Red and Canis to have 2 separate rooms upstairs, an office room and then another bathroom. Downstairs had two guest rooms, a bathroom and a room that had games, a bright orange and pink couch, a TV and some other knick knacks.
So, while the four of them stayed in Puck's room, Uncle Jake was staying in a guest room downstairs and her parents were staying in her dad's old room. The same room she and Daphne had stayed in when they first arrived here.
"Can we sleep on the ground?" Basil asked as he tugged Daphne's sleeve.
"Sure, Bas. I thought you would want to sleep on the trampoline though."
Basil shook his head, "I don't want to fall off and hit my head. My brain will get messy."
Sabrina snorted as she stood up from her place on the ground, "That would explain why Puck's brain is all scrambled."
Puck glared at her but turned and smiled at Basil, "You don't fall off your bed and that's basically the same thing as this. I guess only the brave and mighty are worthy enough to sleep on it."
Basil still looked unsure so then Sabrina assured her brother that Puck was just being a brat and it would be okay if he slept on the ground.
Daphne and Basil started to place the blankets and pillows on the ground and Sabrina was conflicted for a minute. Should she sleep on the ground with them or on the trampoline with Puck?
Her dilemma was solved when Puck said, "Oi, Grimm. Come make yourself useful and help me. How many pillows do you want?"
Sabrina walked over but couldn't resist saying, "I'm not your slave."
"No, just my wife," Puck replied swiftly.
Sabrina scowled, "That joke is old."
"It's not a joke. You should know, you're the one who saw the future."
"Things can change."
Puck grabbed her arm when she reached to arrange the pillows and looked her straight in the eyes, "Not us."
Before Sabrina could reply, Basil ran over, while pulling Daphne, and asked if they could explore Puck's room.
"Yeah, you guys go ahead I'm just gonna check my phone."
Daphne nodded, "Okay."
Sabrina walked to her bag and rummaged around to find her phone. She found it and pulled it out, only to see it was at 9%. She wasn't sure if Puck had any outlets in his room so she pulled out her charger from her bag and made her way downstairs.
She could hear voices in the living room so she made her way to the "games" room. She plugged in her phone and sat on the couch while she scrolled through her notifications. She had a bunch of messages and some missed calls.
There were a lot of messages but that made sense. Some people replied to a picture of Elvis that she posted on her story, she had messages from a few group chats, and other reasonable things like that. She opened her messages from Bella.
2:00 pm - cant wait for u to see the decorations. i feel inspired to go into interior design
5:32 pm - mads and nate r gonna be so cute at the dance
9:07 pm - ok parker has been super weird all day
Sabrina casually looked through her other notifications while wondering what Bella meant by Parker being weird. She was interrupted by her thoughts when she saw the texts from Parker.
1:00 pm - Hey! How come you aren't home?
1:32 pm - Are you awake?
2:46 pm - Not sure if you got my calls but call me back whenever you can
4:03 pm - I was thinking maybe we could match for the dance. It could look great for pictures.
5:24 pm - Maybe my calls aren't going through but call me when you're free
6:41 pm – Why aren't you home yet?
There were still other messages from Parker but Sabrina decided to call him instead of reading the rest of them. He picked up by the second ring.
"Hey, Sabrina. Where've you been?"
"Um…hey. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm good. Where are you?"
"I'm with my family."
"But you aren't home."
"I'm visiting family right now."
"How come you didn't tell me?"
"Huh?"
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"It was kind of a last minute plan but I didn't think it was important. But how did you know that I wasn't home?"
"I was- uh- I was driving by your house and I wanted to hang out."
"Oh, well yeah I'm with family for the weekend."
"Cool, I'll see you at school then."
"Bye, Parker," Sabrina hung up and tried not to think about Parker too much. Had he asked Bella about her? Is that why Bella said he was acting weird? She wasn't sure what was going on with him but she didn't want it to affect her weekend with her family. The phone call should have probably worried her but it actually just inspired her to try and not focus on her family.
She left her phone plugged in and got up to head back to Puck's room. She heard someone bounding down the hall and looked up just as Elvis stopped in the doorway and stared at her. Sabrina smiled and Elvis took this as permission to attack her with his affection. She giggled as he licked her face while she rubbed his head.
The pair made their way back to Puck's room and Sabrina wondered if Elvis wanted to come in with her. She walked inside and closed the door once Elvis was inside. She looked down at the dog, "Okay boy, time to sniff out where they are."

Later that night. Sabrina was on her back, looking at the stars once again. Puck had his arm slung over her stomach and she could feel his soft breaths against her cheek. She could hear Daphne and Elvis snoring on the ground a couple feet away. She was too excited to fall asleep. They were going to see so many people later and she couldn't stop thinking about it. Snow White and Charming were having a party to celebrate their anniversary.
Sabrina couldn't wait to see everyone and she loved seeing Basil interact with everyone. He's known about Everafters for a while now but he still looks so amazed every time he meets someone he's never met before. Everyone worried that Basil would tell his friends and other people that he thought should know but he was actually pretty responsible with this secret. There were a few times when they had to use forgetful dust to handle some situations but, for the most part, she was proud of how much Basil controlled himself.
Elvis sneezed and Puck jumped awake. Puck blearily looked at her and blinked a couple times before asking, "Have you been awake this entire time?"
Sabrina nodded in response. Puck frowned and rolled onto his back. Sabrina found herself missing the weight of his arm but didn't say anything.
"You should sleep."
Sabrina rolled her eyes, "It's not like I'm choosing not to sleep."
"What are you thinking about?" Puck tugged her onto him so she was resting her head on his chest.
"The party tomorrow. How was your field trip with Basil?"
"I can't tell you where we went because it's top secret but it was a lot of fun. How was your day?"
"It was really good. I spent a lot of time with Daph and Red."
Puck began combing through Sabrina's hair with his fingers, "How's Red?"
"She's such an interesting combination of young and old. She's been alive for so long and has some much wisdom it could be intimidating. But there's also so much that she hasn't seen. Small things that I took for granted like going to a water park or having field trips at school. Things that I would consider normal aren't normal for her."
"It makes sense. The barrier trapped her in Ferryport Landing for like a million years and she was crazy for like half of that time. When was she supposed to go to the zoo with the rest of the kids?"
Sabrina stifled a smile, "That seems kinda rude."
"I'm not wrong."
"I guess not. I feel inspired. Hearing about everything she wants to do and the plans she's making really made me want to do the same. Like plan stuff out, you know?"
"Yeah, I guess. I don't really want to make too many plans. It feels like too much of a schedule. Reminds me of school."
"And we all know how much you hate school."
"Exactly. Now go to sleep already. You're talking so much and it's keeping me awake."
Sabrina poked him but decided that she probably should try to sleep, "Goodnight, fairyboy."
"Goodnight, Grimm."
