Rumia: So, anything?

.

Duncan: N-Not much. Whoever Augustus is, he sure does like to put every amenity in one building.

.

Wriggle: It was really cool to look at. I would say romantic, but I guess we aren't the chattering types and light eaters so we didn't stay for long.

.

Alfreda: And What about the man?

.

Duncan: We never really saw him. Our waiter did say that one of the statues was hand-chiseled to look just like him.

.

Alfreda: So What does he look like?

.

Duncan: Tall, muscular and sexy. Basically, someone better then me.

.

Rumia: Weeelll, we clearly need more reconnaissance. Pam And Mystia, you're up.

.

Pam: Oh actually, I have other plans. Sorry.

.

Daiyousei: I'll go.

.

Rumia: Okay, please be careful.

.

Mystia: Yeah, Yeah. We always are, R.

.

Yuuka entered the village

.

I believe you can understand and can speak.

.

The Bean said nothing or did anything to avoid Yuuka from finding out, but all it did made her sweet smile fade into a slightly sinister frown.

.

The Bean: Okay, you win. I can talk.

.

Yuuka: Good, because I wanted to ask you something. How is Duncan doing?

.

The Bean: Good, I guess. Why do you care? He already has a girlfriend (sort of).

.

Yuuka: Haha, no, no. He's not my type, but his father was someone I respected.

.

The Bean: Mr. Spallgeti? He had many friends. What makes you special?

.

Yuuka: He was the only person that was actually nice to me.

.

Jake: Hey, ain't you coming?

.

Riko: Sorry, But I still got work to do. You know how I am.

.

Jake: Okay, But don't take too long.

.

Jake left as Duncan ran up to him.

.

Riko: Hey there, kiddo. Finished with those chores?

.

Duncan: Y-Y-Y-Ye-s. B-Beanie even helped out a-a bit.

.

The Bean:...

.

Riko: Did He? Well ain't he a good helper. Maybe making him a part of our family wasn't such a bad idea.

.

Duncan: Hey, y-you do m-m-mean that, Right?

.

Riko: Look, I will never get to see all this stuff you tell me about him or believe you, but as long as you're happy, I'm happy. I honestly wished that good things would happen to you.

.

Duncan: Good things will happen, Pa.

.

Riko: I know, but I want to make sure you're ready. I won't be there for you forever.

.

Duncan: What do you mean, Pa?

.

Riko: Look, eventually I'll spend my final moments on Earth and I want to make sure that before I go, you're gonna be ready to do things on your own.

.

Duncan: Don't worry, I will be ready. Besides you can always t-t-trust The Bean.

.

Nice motto, but please don't over do it kid.

.

Duncan and The Bean left

.

Riko: ZUN I hope so.

.

Before Riko could continue his work, he heard a commotion.

.

Unknown: why must you be so rude. I merely wanted to give you a sunflower.

.

Villager: I don't want your youkai germ infested flower. Now get. *Slams door*

.

Unknown: My three hundred and forty fourth attempt to make a friend as failed.

.

Riko: Must be hard to make a friend.

.

Unknown: At this point I'm convinced I shall never make a friend. Perhaps I shall just tend to my flowers and if anyone tries to come near me, then I shall turn them into fertilizer. I see that as fair, considering how they treat me. So, may I end your life?

.

Riko: Sure, friend.

.

Unknown: I'm being serious, human.

.

Riko: So am I. *Grabs the sunflower* I'll accept your gift.

.

Unknown: What is the meaning of this?

.

Riko: Listen, when you have a dream, don't give up on it. I just needed to help make it come true before you truly give up on it.

.

Unknown: Do you really have time to make a friend? Even when that "friend" is rejecting you.

.

Riko: Ironic, isn't it.

.

Unknown: Hmm. Well I do appreciate your kindness human err..

.

Riko: The name is Riko, Riko Spallgeti. What's your name?

.

Unknown: It's Yuuka Kazami.

.

Yuuka: We weren't talking much but when we did, it was like I finally had the feeling of happiness.

.

The Bean: Ah, So you weren't like Duncan's secret mother or some secret admirer? Or even some relative that was hardy talked about?

Yuuka: *Snickers* No. if he wasn't too manly, then I would of eventually fall for him. He was always a patient and fair man and I always wanted to make sure his son would turn out okay. It's at least a way for me to honor him.

.

The Bean: He and I never saw each other eye-to-eye, but he still took me in when Duncan told him I could hop around. Mad respects to him for being such a good father. I just wished things turned out differently or even if Kaz was still around.

.

Yuuka: I once told him that I would love to meet her.

.

The Bean: If only she survived the cholera.

.

Yuuka: I wonder about your origins.

.

The Bean: I ain't from Gensokyo, but I don't remember my past. All I know is that I'm a kidney bean that eventually made his way to the Spallgeti residence after a few weeks of running from everyone who wanted to eat me and they took me in. I do feel bad for never showing Riko what I can do or actually speak to Duncan. I guess I was too afraid of scaring them, I mean seriously, anyone who saw me do anything but be a normal bean would freak out. I just got lucky that Duncan found me amazing.

.

Yuuka: You show off without saying a single word.

.

The Bean: I'm a cagey bean, okay.

.

Yuuka: Well, we're here. I will say, I had fun talking to you err, what is your name.

.

The Bean: I don't know. Everyone calls me The Bean so I just stick with it.

.

Yuuka: Well Mr. Bean, I had fun and I hope we can talk more. Good luck on your pizza thing.

.

Yuuka leaves and The Bean rolls through the front doors and into the kitchen.

.

Alfreda: -So I think that we should-ah..oh, there's The Bean.

.

The Bean:...

.
