Carlisle's POV- A Few Days Later
Alice and Jasper arrived a couple of days ago and Bella seems to be feeling somewhat better considering what happened. In about two weeks she should be able to get her cast off if everything goes fine. While Bella was in the shower, I decided that I needed to talk to Alice and Jasper about what my next move is. I am still a little unclear on what I want to do, so Alice has had a hard time seeing what will happen. They where sitting in the living room and I joined them on the couch across from them.
"Carlisle, I know you will be leaving tonight for Forks and no I haven't been able to see what you will do or the outcome." Alice said.
"I figured that much since I was having a hard time deciding what I am going to do. I just know something needs to get done though." I replied.
"I know Carlisle. You are a good man, and you will figure what course to take. You know Bella needs you and you won't do anything to jeopardize that."
Alice's words were very comforting. I could tell Jasper has been using his ability to make everyone calm and that was extremely helpful especially with Bella.
"I'm going to talk to Bella and let her know. I want to make sure she is alright with me leaving or if she needs a few more days." I said as I got off the couch and headed upstairs. Bella was sitting on my bed brushing her wet hair out.
"Hey, love, can I talk to you for a minute?" I asked trying to announce myself before entering the room. She has been jumpy and that is totally understandable.
"Sure, Carlisle. Is everything ok?"
"Yes, at the moment. I would like to leave to Forks tonight to take care of the situation, but I would like to make sure that you are ok with me leaving. I'll only be gone for a few days; three at the most."
"I'll be fine here with Alice and Jasper. Just please remember not to do anything that will take you away from me. And please call me or text me so I know that you are ok." Bella said while walking towards me and throwing her arms around my waist.
"I promise, my love."
"Can you wait till I'm asleep before you go?"
"Of course." At that, Bella walked over to the bed and crawled under the covers where I laid down with her and watched her fall peacefully asleep.
I decided that I would run and when I got closer to Forks I would but a car and drive the rest of the way. I thought if I should up to town with vehicle that it might through up some red flags, and I want to avoid that.
Several Hours Later
I was able to find a car that looked similar to one I own at the dealership. As I was driving, I called Alice's phone. I figure that Bella might be sleeping still and I did not want to wake her.
"She's fine, Carlisle. She's still asleep like you thought." Alice said.
"That's good. I don't think she hasn't had much sleep lately."
"Do you want me to have her call you when she gets up?"
"Why don't you text me first because I'm not sure where or what I'll be doing when she does."
"Alright, Carlisle. I still can't see anything though."
"I know. If you do see something and it is going to be bad, please call."
"I will. You let me know if you need anything."
We said our goodbyes and then I was in Forks. I think I know what to do now. I need to get a message to Billy Black or on of the council members to meet in a neutral area. The only way I can do that without breaking the treaty is by talking to Bella's father, Charlie. I know that he is not going to be happy when he sees me. That will just have to be and from what I know of him if Bella is happy, he will be fine. I parked the car on the street right in front of Charlie's house. His curser was in the driveway, so I knew that he was home. Times like these I sometimes whished I had Edward or Jasper's gift. I would be easier to gage what I was walking into. Whatever the outcome I must do this Bella. I got out of the car and walked up the door and knocked.
"Yea, coming." I heard Charlie yell. He opened the door and the expression on his face changed.
"Dr. Cullen, what are you doing here? Bella is not here, and I am not going to tell you where she is. How dare you knock on my door after what your son did to Bella. "He said as his face turned red with anger.
"Chief Swan you are absolutely right. I have no right to be here or ask this of you, but it's for Bella that I do." I replied to him. His face softened some at the sound of Bella's name.
"Is Bella alright? What happened? Tell me everything… wait, you know where Bella is?" Sometimes I forget it takes humans a little bit to catch up.
"Yes, but I need you to do something to help Bella first and when it's over we will explain everything to you. I put this on my own life that we will once it's over." I pleaded. He looked at me with such uncertainty but sighed and nodded for me to continue.
"Can you please get a message to Billy Black to meet me at my home tonight? I do not have his number and I do not have the time to go to the reservation. And yes, he should bring the council with him. If he cannot meet me at my home here is my number that he can call me at the set it up. Can you please do this for me? For Bella?"
"One question before I do, is Bella here? Is she with you?"
"No, she's at school. And Alice is with her." He seemed to be relived to hear Alice's name. Alice would always tell us that she was Charlie's favorite.
"Ok, Dr. Cullen, I will call Billy now. Um before you go, when do you think Bella will be able to explain to me what is going on?"
"I'll have her call you sometime today to talk to you about her coming for a visit. Is that alright with you?" Charlie nodded and then walked into the house. I walked back out to the car and started to drive to the house. I should be able to get the electricity turned on in the next few hours along with the water. I know that I do not need any of those things, but my human guests will. I pulled into the driveway and my phone started to ring.
"Mr. Black, hello. So, I take it you got my message?"
