The Mission's Speed Bump
The next morning Stephanie woke up To Tank's, Morelli's, Ranger's, and Captain's Potter's voices downstairs.
"What happened?" Stephanie said as she entered the kitchen.
"Little one," Tank said out loud. They, all looked at her.
"We have problem. Agent Tallen was murdered last night. Not only that, the evidence that the FBI had is gone."
"Poof" Morelli said as he did a bomb jester with his hands.
"Todd Robbin's and his wife" Stephanie said as she was sitting on one of the stools around the island.
"Gone, like they vanished." Ranger told everyone.
"Shit, could they have been in Witness Protection?" Stephanie just blurted out and put a hand to her mouth.
"Did not mean that?" Stephanie told everyone.
Everyone stared at Stephanie,"
"You want to join the force. I have an opening. I also have a contact with a connection with Witness Protection will use it." Captain Potter then left.
"Oops" Stephanie told everyone.
"Babe we love you" Ranger then left the house.
A few hours later, Captain Potter, and Ranger back.
"Well I checked with my contact and you Stephanie are a genius. Turns out that Todd Robbins is in witness protection."
What about Tiffany," Stephanie asked.
"just Todd Robbins and his real name is not Robbins." Captain Potter replied to Stephanie question.
"So who is he?" Tank asked.
"My contact could not tell me" Potter replied again
"What about Bob?" Morelli asked.
"I will have some one bring him here, Morelli" Captain Potter said out loud.
"You can't captain." Stephanie told him.
"Yes, I can and I am. See you in a half of hour with Bob." The captain left to get Bob.
A half an hour later a shagged brown dog started to run because he smelled Socks.
"Meow."
"Now I see why Stephanie tried to tell me I can't" The Captain said in shock.
"Who owns the cat." The Captain asked.
"Me" Tank said in the Captain's face.
"Socks, where are you?" Tank yelled.
Everyone looked into the living and saw a small paw coming out from under the couch and trying to hit Bob on the nose.
Morelli went up to Bob grabbed his collar trying to get Bob to stop going after Socks. But Bob was too strong and Morelli lost the grip of Bob's collar and flying into Tank's 65-inch flat screen tv.
Stephanie started to search, the bag that came with Bob she found his favorite bone.
"Right with you babe." Ranger stood by the back door.
"Hey Bob look what I have." Stephanie said to the big dog. He took one look at Stephanie and saw she had his bone.
He started charging at her. "Shit" She ran as fast as she could, made it to the back door and threw the bone out into back lawn. Bob lunged at the bone. Ranger shut the door leaving Bob out in the back yard.
"What mess," The Captain said as he was walking out of the house.
Tank started to walk to the Captain. Stephanie was standing in between the door and the Captain; she stood on her tip toes and gave Tank a deep kiss on the lips.
"Meow" and then Morelli saw the small kitten black with white paws.
Tank picked up the shaking kitten.
"It is okay little one. I am right here." Tank went to the living room and was about to turn on the TV.
"Aww shit, I have to get a new TV now." Tank said while holding Socks.
"Don't you have another tv in another room that you can move into the living room." Morelli asked.
"No that's only the one." Tank said to everyone.
"So, what do we do now," Morelli asked.
"How about reading a book" Tank said out loud. "I have a mini library down the hall." Tank said as he walked up stairs holding the terrified kitten in his arms.
Ranger, Stephanie, and Morelli, heard Bob whining and scratching at the door to get back in.
"Don't even think about it Morelli" Ranger said and walked out of the house.
