IN MADDIE'S TEMPORARY HOUSE
In the kitchen in the house Maddie was staying in at the moment, Tom had set Sonic who was still unconsious on a counter.
"It'll be okay, Jojo." Tom said to his niece
"You can help him, right?" Daphne asks
'I on't know Daphne, I don't even know what i'm looking at." Maddie replied
"He's a hedgehog or so he says." Tom states
"It talks?" Maddie asked
"Almost constantly." Tom answered
"Look, he doesn't seem to have any broken bones, he's just really banged up." Maddie said checking if any bones in Sonic's body were broken
Maddie eventually noticed the shoes had holes in them and took them off and saw that his socks had holes and his feet were slightly scarred from all the running.
"Look at his poor little feet." Maddie said
Jojo grabbed the shoes and checked the size. She then sat them down and hopped off the stool she was on and headed for a spare room she was staying in. Meanwhile, still in the kitchen, Maddie checked Sonic's pulse.
"Whoa..." Maddie said
"What?" Tom asked
"His pulse is super-fast.' Maddie replied
"That might actually be normal for him...I don't know. We gotta wake him up though." Daphne said
"Like, wait, I have an idea. This always works on Scooby, maybe it'll work on Sonic." Shaggy said as he pulled a Scooby Snack out of the box he had on him
"Shaggy, I doubt it'll work." Velma said
Shaggy held the Scooby Snack up to Sonic's nose as if it were some smelling salts. Sonic's eyes snapped open as he quickly stood up.
"Gotta go fast!" Sonic said before rushing around the kitchen after regaining consciousness
After he few seconds, he stopped running.
"Where am I? What year is it?Is The Rock President?" Sonic said
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down buddy, you're okay." Tom said
Sonic looked around, noticed Maddie and said, "Oh, hi, Pretzel Lady."
"Hi...' Maddie responded
"Tom...Maddie, can we talk for a second?" Velma said pulling the two to another room
"Space hedgehog, get some rest." Maddie said closing he door they used to the kitchen
"Got it, I am great at resting. I am great-" Sonic started as the door shut
Sonic was still talking. Seemingly to Daphne, Shaggy, and Scooby.
"He's still talking." Velma said
"Yep." Tom added
"Okay, first of all, can we take a second to realize how calm I was, didn't freak out, was totally under control..." Maddie said
"Yeah, really calm." Velma said
"Totally calm, second of all, WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON, IS THAT THING AN ALIEN!?" Maddie finished
"Okay so, you know how Crazy Carl is always going on about..." Tm started
"The Blue Devil...oh my god, that's him? He's real What's he doing here?" Maddie asked
"So, Daphne may have accidentally shot him with your tranquilizer gun..." Velma started
"She did not..." Maddie said
"She didn't mean to...he has to get to the Transamerica building, and we promised we would take him." Tom finished
IN THE KITCHEN
Jojo walked into the kitchen with some red shoes that had white straps and handed them to Sonic.
"So you won'thurt your feet anymore." Jojo said
Sonic was speechless. This is the second time he's ever gotten a gift.
"No one's ever given me this type of a gift before, guess I gotta cross that off my bucket list." Sonic said as he put on the shoes
Sonic stood up after putting on the new shoes. Wow, these are really comf." Sonic said
LATER
Tom put on his brown leather jacket after coming back inside.
"So, The Mystery Machine still runs, but it's pretty much totaled. Think we can find a couple of taxis?" Tom said
"Should be possible." Maddie replied
OUTSIDE THE TRANSAMERICA BUILDING
Across the road from the Transamerica building, a couple of taxis pull up and Tom, Maddie, Sonic, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby get out.
"So this is it?" Sonic asks
"Yep, there's your pyramid." Tomsaid
"So now what do we-" Velma started before Sonic took off running
"-do. Oh, he's gone." Velma finished
Sonic came back literally half asecond later.
"No use. You need a special key to get to the roof." Sonic said
"So, now what?" Maddie asked
"Well, gang, I guess it's time to slightly abuse the fact we're government supported." Daphne said
Everyone looked at her for a fews econds.
INSIDE THE LOBBY OF THE TRANSAMERICA BUILDING
In the lobby of the Transamerica building, Tom, Maddie, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby ran up to a counter awhile Tom was carrying a dufflebag that Sonic was hiding in.
"We have to get to the roof. There's a crook up there that's been on the run." Daphne said pulling out a form proving that Mystery Inc. is government supported while it also included that Mystery Inc. is from Coolsville, Ohio.
"You came all the way from...Ohio?" The receptionist asked
"Yeah, we were ordered to catch him.: Velma stated
The receptionist set the keys to the roof on the counter and Velma took them as Daphne put the form she pulled out back up.
"You just helped stop a criminal." Tom said as the group headed for the elevator
While heading for the elevator, Tom turned to the dufflebag he had and said, "Okay, stay in there and be quiet."
Sonic zipped the dufflebag closed as Maddie pressed a button to call the elevator s the group got there. Two people came up behind them. A male in a suit and with orange hair an a woman with a similar but different colored suit.
"How much longer? I can't breathe in here." Sonic said
"Do you have your child in that bag?" the woman asked
"No. I mean, yes, he's a child but it's not mine." Tom said
"It's not your child...' the male said
The two people in suits walked off as the elevator was about to arrive.
"It smells like body spray and an old ham sandwich." Sonic said as Maddie zipped the ba back closed
"No, no, no, I don't like the dark!" Sonic said as the bag was zip closed
