The Next Day: Random Building

Dipper and Wendy are inside sitting at a table beside each other.

Around the building shows screens with the SHIELD logo on it. Wendy picks up a file, saying 'AVENGERS INITIATIVE PRELIMINARY REPORT'. Rick Sanchez enters with Pacifica while Wendy looks at her and Pacifica stops her from opening the file.

Rick sits down, looking at them, "I don't think I want you looking at that. I'm not sure it pertains to you two anymore. Now this on the other hand, is Agent Olsen's assessment of Dipper. Read it." He hands the file to Dipper, but Wendy snatches it and starts reading it.

Wendy reads, "Personality overview. Mr. Pines displays compulsive behavior."

Dipper says in defense, "In my own defense, that was last week." Rick stares between them with a serious look on.

Wendy continues, "'Prone to self-destructive tendencies'. He was dying. I mean, please. Aren't we all? 'Textbook narcissism'? Agreed. Okay, here it is. 'Recruitment assessment for Avenger Initiative. Iron Man? Yes'."

Dipper, also looking in the file as she reads, "I gotta think about it."

Rick nods to Dipper, "Read on."

Dipper takes the file from Wendy and reads, "'Dipper Pines not...not recommended'? That doesn't make any sense. How can you approve me but not approve me? I got a new ticker. I'm trying to stand right by with Pacifica. With the kid coming and all. I'm in a now stable relationship." He says, looking at Pacifica and smiles, her giving a small smile back. Rick stands up and walks around and rests against the table by Dipper's chair.

Rick tells him, "Which leads us to believe at this juncture, we'd only like to use you two as a consultant. And we know about her pregnancy, which is why I'm giving her an absent leave from the field and assigning her to not do the heavy lifting." He looks at Pacifica and gives her a nod and her nodding back in appreciation. Dipper stands up and offers his hand. They both shake hands.

Dipper clasps his other hand on top of Rick's and says, "You can't afford us." He gestures to Wendy to stand up and they both went to leave, but Dipper turns around again, making Wendy stop, "Then again, I will little waive my customary retainer in exchange for a small favor. Mabel and I are being honored in Washington and we need a presenter."

Rick nods, "I'll see what I can do."

Day: Washington, D.C.

Song: 'Highway To Hell'; Starts to play in the background.

Senator Ergman was at the stand, in front of the media, "It is my honor to be here today to present these distinguished awards to Lieutenant Colonel Mabel Pines and Mr. Dipper Pines, who is, of course, a national treasure." He fake smiles. He pins a medal on Mabel, "Thank you Lieutenant Colonel, for such an exceptionally distinguished performance. You deserve this."

Mabel nods in appreciation, "Thank you, sir."

Ergman grabs the second medal, "Mr. Pines. Thank you for such an exceptionally distinguished performance. You deserve this." Dipper flinches and winces in pain as he pokes him, fake apologizing to him, "Oh, sorry. Funny how annoying a little prick can be, isn't it? Let's get a photo." He stands in between them, wrapping his arms around their shoulders, smiling as the audience clap. Dipper raises his arm and gives a peace sign and a cameraman runs up and takes a photo of them.
