It was night in Angel Grove and a little girl was looking through a telescope. She studied the stars and planets and made numerous notes on what she saw. It was at the moment that Joey walked in.

"Hey, Chloe. It's time for you to head to bed." Joey said.

"Can't it wait?" Chloe asked.

"What do you think you're mom will do. Aunty Alicia will not be happy and I'm not dealing with that." Joey said.

"Okay." Chloe said, but wasn't happy about going to bed like most kids.

"That's my favorite cousin." Joey said. "I'll stop by tomorrow and we'll do something fun." He closed the door and left his cousin to go to bed, but she kept looking through her telescope. Chloe was a really smart girl and just loved the stars. As she was watching, she spotted something horrifying. She saw a giant meteor and it was getting bigger and bigger. That means it's heading to Earth and the size of it doesn't make it look good.

...

Locore's Palace

"Master, your spell is working." Dragight said. "The meteor you summoned with your spell is on course and it will reach Angel Grove within the next twenty-four hours."

"Excellent. The rangers might defeat monsters, but they won't be able to stop this." Locore said.

"Not even the rangers can stop something like this." Dragight said as they already laughed at the victory. "Victory will soon be ours!"

...

The Next Day

Joey was on his way to his cousin's house again. As soon as Chloe spotted him, she ran right out of the door with her backpack and looked really scared.

"Joey!" Chloe called with Joey catching her as she ran to him.

"Chloe? What's wrong? Are you that excited to see your cousin?" Joey said.

"Joey, a meteor is heading to Earth!" Chloe said.

"Say what?" Joey questioned.

"It's true! I saw it last night!" Chloe said. She was trying to worrying him about what she saw, but Joey just laughed it off.

"Sounds like someone was stargazing too much when they should have been in bed like I told them to." Joey said.

"I'm telling the truth. I would show you, but my telescope doesn't work in the daylight." Chloe said as she took out her notebook from her bag and showed it to Joey. "I ran numerous calculations and double checked everything. That meteor is going to land straight on Angel Grove. We need to do something and evacuate the city!" Joey looked over Chloe's calculations and something did seem off. He knows his cousin and he would know she wouldn't make a mistake with something like this.

"Come with me. I know someone that might be able to check this." Joey said as he grabbed Chloe's hand and got moving.

...

The Youth Center

Joey and Chloe hurried over to the Youth Center. Joey wasn't so sure about this whole meteor thing, but he knew someone that could understand Chloe's calculations. He looked around and spotted Valerie by the counter doing some work of her own.

"Val!" Joey called as they hurried over to her and got her attention.

"Hey, Joey. Who's this?" Valerie said.

"This is Chloe, my cousin. Listen, I need your help with something." Joey said.

"Can it wait? I've got some work to do." Valerie said.

"I don't think I can. Something serious might be going on." Joey said.

"It is going on! An asteroid is heading straight for us." Chloe said.

"What?" Valerie said as Joey hushed her.

"Keep it down until we know for sure." Joey said as he grabbed her notebook. "My cousin is into astrology and is pretty smart. She claims she saw a meteor heading for Earth and it's going to land on Angel Grove. I'm not sure if that's true, but in the off chance it is, given all the crazy stuff we've been through, you might want to take a look." He passed her the notes and Valerie took a quick look at the calculations. Valerie could understand them and she was beginning to see how serious this was.

"You wouldn't happen to have coordinates for what you saw, would you?" Valerie asked Chloe. Chloe confirmed she did.

"I think we better get the others and see this for ourselves." Valerie said. If Valerie is getting serious after seeing those notes, Joey was beginning too as well. Joey and Valerie alerted the others and waited outside the Youth Center. The other rangers arrived as soon as they got the message.

"Hey, guys. What's going on?" Travis said.

"You sounded like it was something important." Robby said.

"It is." Valerie said. "Joey's cousin showed me some calculations and, if this is for real, there might be an actual asteroid heading towards Earth. A big one."

"What? No way." Abby said.

"That can't be real." David said.

"Chloe here is pretty smart. I doubt she be wrong about something like this." Joey said.

"This could be very serious. We all could be in a lot of danger." Valerie said. "We need to get to you-know-where and see the asteroid ourselves to confirm it." The other rangers were starting to get concerned and this does sound bad.

"I want to go." Chloe said.

"I don't think so, Chloe." Joey said.

"Please. I was the one that spotted it." Chloe said. They're in a real situation and there's no time for argue or debate.

"Okay." Joey said. "You can come with us, but you have to promise that you will never tell anyone what you see. You've got to keep this a secret." Chloe swore she would. "Just hold on tight." He held his cousin close and they all made sure no one was watching as all of them teleported.

...

The Command Center

All of them teleported to their base. When they got there, Chloe couldn't believe her eyes.

"What is this place?" Chloe asked as she was amazed with all of this. Zultro and Gamma were shocked when they spotted her.

"Uh oh. Human." Gamma said.

"What is the meaning of this? Why is this child here?" Zultro said.

"This is Chloe. She's my cousin." Joey said.

"Zultro, we have something we need to look at. This could be very serious." Valerie said as she walked over to Gamma. "Gamma, I need you to input these coordinates. Let's see what's there." As Valerie and Gamma worked on the computer, Chloe was putting the pieces together.

"Joey! You're a ranger?!" Chloe said.

"Pretty cool, right?" Joey asked.

"Aye! Not good!" Gamma said. They input the coordinates and they were able to see the asteroid on the meteor.

"Oh my gosh!" Sierra said.

"There really is an asteroid heading towards Earth." David said.

"I told you!" Chloe said.

"According to these calculations, it's going to land directly on Angel Grove within hours." Gamma said.

"It's worse than that." Zultro said. "A meteor of this size could destroy the entire city and have dire effects on the entire planet."

"What do we do?" Abby said.

"Shouldn't we worn the city and start an evacuation?" Robby asked.

"That will take too long." Sierra said. "Besides, if that thing hits, the destruction will be great. There's got to be some way to stop it. Don't we have anything?"

"Well, we could modify the Spirit Megazord for space travel. It shouldn't take long and we can equip it with a couple bombs to destroy it before it enters Earth's atmosphere." Gamma said. That sounded good, but their problems increased as they heard an alarm go off and saw Dragight was in the city.

"It's Dragight." Travis said.

"We don't have time for him now." Sierra said.

"Go! Gamma and I will get the zords ready. Until they are, there isn't much we can do." Zultro said.

"Chloe, you stay here where it's safe." Joey said and Chloe agreed. They'll deal with the asteroid, but they have to deal with Dragight now.

"It's morphin time!" Travis said as they all reached for their morphers.

"White Spinosaur!"

"Green Plesiosaur!"

"Black Ankylosaur!"

"Pink Pterodactyl!"

"Yellow Parasaur!"

"Red Tyrannosaurs!"

...

Angel Grove

Dragight was causing havoc in the city. The rangers arrived and stood to oppose him.

"Welcome, rangers! To the last day of your lives!" Dragight said.

"What are you doing here, Dragight?!" Travis said.

"I'm just here to keep you occupied until the asteroid arrives to crush you with the rest of your city." Dragight said. "Not even you rangers could stop that, but just in case you try anything..." Dragight began his attack as he launched fireballs at them and blasted them. "Golems! Attack!" A team of golems appeared and went on the attack. The rangers got back up and got in the fight.

"I got Dragight!" Travis said as he pulled out his sword and jumped in the air. He tried to strike him with his sword, but Dragight blocked it with his spear.

"Is this really how you want to spend your last few moments on this miserable planet?" Dragight taunted.

"You haven't won yet." Travis said. Travis kept trying to attack him with his sword, but Dragight blocked each of his attacks. Dragight swung his spear and managed to get a strike against Travis and kicked him down.

"You're finished!" Dragight said.

"Not so fast, lizard breath!" Joey called as he jumped in the air and tossed his daggers at him. Dragight got hit by them and Joey kicked him back.

"Thanks, Joey." Travis said as he got back up and the rangers regrouped after beating the golems.

"Enjoy your last few minutes." Dragight said as he launched a flame attack at them. It exploded and he thought he had them, but the rangers surprised them as they used their blasters and blasted Dragight said.

"I wouldn't count us out yet." Travis said.

"We'll stop that meteor like you." Abby said.

"I actually like to see that. Go ahead and try." Dragight said as he made a retreat.

"Why did he retreat like that? Not his style." Sierra said.

"Who cares? We need to focus on that asteroid. Let's just hope there's still time." Robby said.

"Zultro? Gamma? Come in." Travis said as he tried to reach them. "Please tell us the zords are ready."

"We're good to go. Call on your zords and form the megazord to head for the asteroid." Zultro said.

"Okay. We're only going to have one shot at this. We've got to make it quick." Travis said with all of them understanding.

"We need spirit animal power now!" All of them called on their zords and formed the megazord with them heading to space.

...

The Command Center

"Good luck, rangers." Gamma said. Chloe watched on the monitor and was hoping her cousin would be able to make it.

"Don't worry, Chloe." Zultro said as he dropped down and placed his hands on her shoulders. "The rangers have pulled through before. Your cousin and the rest of them will this time as well."

"Okay, rangers. You have two bombs that must be placed in the right positions on the asteroid so it will be destroyed without harming the planet." Gamma said as he guided them through the steps.

...

The Rangers

The megazord was able to fly into space and they could see asteroid. They landed down on it and were heading for the two locations they have to place the bombs.

"Okay, let's do this." Travis said.

"We're right on the right location for the first bomb." Abby said. "I'm putting it in place." They cleared the way as they took the first bomb and gently placed it in the asteroid.

"Careful, Abby. We don't want to set that thing off by accident." David said.

"Quiet. I'm already nervous." Abby said. They were able to get the first bomb in place with no problems. "There. Now for the second one."

"Right. Relocating to the next position." Sierra said. They have the megazord fly around and were able to make it and were putting the second bomb in place.

"There. The second bomb is in place." Valerie said.

"Great. So can we get out of here? This place gives me the creeps." Sierra said.

"Me too. Let's get a safe distance and detonate them." Travis said.

"Leaving so soon, rangers? I wouldn't hear of it." All of them looked and they were surprised to see Locore on a ledge of the asteroid.

"Locore?! What are you doing here?" Travis said.

"I had a feeling you would find a way to come here. So I'm going to make sure you can't leave." Locore said as he used his powers on the asteroid. Rock spikes came out of the ground and smashed into the megazord and was trying to keep them down.

"Rangers, what's going on?!" Zultro asked.

"It was a trap! Locore knew we would come here!" Travis said. "The asteroid's trying to keep us pinned down."

"That's right. Now you have a choice to make." Locore said. "You can detonate those bombs right now and get caught in the explosion or you could wait until you hit Earth. Either way, you're finished!" Locore left the place and the rangers are now left trapped and with a decision to make.

"What do we do? We can't get free." Abby said.

"We can't let this asteroid reach Earth. We have no choice." Travis said. "We have to detonate the bombs right now."

"With us on it?!" Robby said.

"Travis is right. There's no time. We've got to do it now." Joey said. The rangers were in agreement and this might be their final mission.

...

The Command Center

"Rangers! What's going on?" Zultro said.

"We're going to detonate the bombs right now." Travis said.

"No! You can't! You're too close to the asteroid!" Zultro said, but the rangers went through with it. They detonated the bombs and the asteroid began to explode. The rangers got caught in the explosion as they were taking some damage. "Rangers, get out of there!" They couldn't get free and it seemed like the end for them.

"Joey!" Chloe called, but Zultro held her back. They lost the signal and they thought the rangers were really gone. It was such a sad moment for them as they thought they were gone for good.

"Zultro. Gamma. Can you read me?" They got the signal back and could hear the rangers.

"Rangers! Is that really you?!" Gamma said.

"Yeah. We managed to get free at the last second. We're coming home." Travis said. All of them were glad to hear that. After a little waiting, the rangers teleported back inside.

"Joey!" Chloe called as she hurried to her cousin. Joey removed his helmet and dropped down to hug her. "You really are a great cousin."

"Hey, we never would have known about this if it weren't for you." Joey said. "You're a hero too."

"I am?" Chloe said.

"He's right. We've got you to thank for this." Abby said.

"Does this mean I can be a ranger?!" Chloe said.

"Sure! When you're older." Joey said with all of them having a laugh. There's really nothing the rangers can't do.
