Stay With Me Forever

After feeling sick for quite a while, my husband had enough and took me to the ER. Allergies and asthma mixed together sucks... But thanks to the kind and understanding hospital staff, I was able to get a breathing treatment, antibiodics, and new stronger inhaler. I was in and out in less than an hour. I know that most hospital staffing is over worked due to the pandemic and I applaude them for being able work through such a hard time. So thank you any doctors, nurses, EMTs, anyone who works in the medical field that is on here. I hope you all get some real time to sit back and relax and take care of yourself.

Please enjoy the lastest chapter of my story!

Ch 12

Jenny and Jake laid in bed as the Cullens left the house to go hunting and take turns in patrolling the surrounding areas for the rogue. Her fingers mindlessly twirled against his hand while she slept. Jake kept his eyes on her hand watching, feeling amazed at how smooth and cool her tiny hand felt against his. They were slow twirls but it was still an amazing feeling.

He raked his eyes to her face, watching her lids flutter as she dreamed, small dimples in her cheeks as she smiled for a quick second, worry lines on her forehead as she frowned, small details that he took in diligently. With his other hand, he gently smoothed out the lines on her forehead as they tried to deepen. When that didn't work, he kissed her forehead, kissing the bad dreams away. Finally the lines receded.

"What are you dreaming about, hun?"

It would be another hour before she woke up, her bladder calling her name. This time Jake was sleep, holding her down. She tried to move his arm and found that she couldn't.

"Jake... I need to get up..."

He moaned in his sleep and rolled over. Giving a sigh of relief, she got up and raced to the bathroom. After relieving herself, she looked in the mirror and fixed her hair. Walking out of the bathroom, she slipped her shoes back on and left the room, heading down stairs. She took a look around. Only Esme and Carlisle were back.

They were both leaning over the kitchen bar looking over blue prints for a new house.

"Um... Excuse me?..." Jenny whispered, not wanting to interrupt. Carlisle looked to her with a gentle smile.

"What can we do for you, Jenny?" He asked her, pulling a stool out for her to sit on. Jenny took the offer and sat down.

"I was wondering... How do you work in a hospital?..." Jenny asked with a blush. Esme and Carlisle both chuckled.

"I've grown use to the smell of blood. When I was... Turned... I hid myself and starved myself. I couldn't think of harming a human life, let alone kill one. Thankfully I found a forest and a lot of deer to satisfy the burn. I believe the others think it is my compassion for the living that passed on as my trait to help others. I've worked in all kinds of medical positions. Being the Chief Doctor, I can go around the hospital and help those with what I can," Carlisle explained gently as Esme rolled up the blue print and put it up.

"So you've never killed a human before?" Jenny asked, curiously.

"No. Though there a few in the family who have slipped, but we all tend to stick to the vegetarian lifestyle."

"Why did they slip up?"

"People who have a certain blood type can sing to one of us. It'll call to some one even harder than normal, making it extremely hard to resist. La tu cantante as they call it."

"Blood singer... Who all slipped?... If I can ask..."

"Me, Emmett, Jasper. Jasper is a different than us. He didn't have the same... Upbringing as we did. You would have to ask him about his story if you truly want to know," Esme said gently as she placed a mug of hot tea in front of her. Jenny took it and blew the top of it and took a sip. Rich and sweet.

Carlisle hugged Esme to him and kissed her forehead. Jenny watched and smiled at the relationship the two had. Caring for one another, they took care for those around them, even if they didn't know the other person.

"How did you two meet?" Jenny asked.

"Well... I was climbing a tree when I shouldn't have... I fell and broke my leg. The normal doctor wasn't in town so Carlisle took over. I was just a teen when we first meet. The second time... Was a very hard time for me... My husband abused me... I lost my baby... I couldn't live after everything happened so I went to the cliffs and jumped... Someone must've found me and took me to the morgue," Esme started, as she looked to Carlisle.

"I was in town and heard her heart was still beating and went to investigate. When I saw her... All I could see was the connection we had from our first meeting and decided to save her. Edward wasn't with me as he wanted to try a different lifestyle. I prayed and was so thankful when you didn't hate me for saving you," Carlisle finished, talking to Esme. Esme smiled and kissed him.

"I could never hate the man I fell in love with as a teen..."

Jenny blushed at the tension in the room. "I'll just... Go check on Jake..." She grabbed her mug and quickly made her get-a-way without spilling the drink, heading back up stairs. She slipped into her room and shut the door. Jake was still asleep thankfully. She spotted a chair in the corner by the window wall and sat down in it gently, curling her legs under her.

She watched the birds fly from tree to tree and squirrels dancing from branch to branch, sipping on her cooling tea. Jenny relaxed seeing two wolves come to the edge of the tree line and wave their tails at her. She waved. Sam and Paul always watched over her when Jake wasn't there causing havoc. Sam sniffed the air and tilted his head. Jenny pointed to the bed. Sam nodded and howled.

Jake woke up with a start falling off the bed. Jenny hid her smile and giggling behind her hand. Jake glared at her gently.

"Now I wonder who did that," He asked non seriously.

"I'm sure Sam didn't wake you up with out a reason, Jake..." Jenny said quietly trying not to fully laugh. Jake went to the window and flipped Sam and Paul off. He bent over and kissed Jenny before trotting out of the room and out of the house. Jenny watched as Jake followed Sam into the woods while Paul sat and watched Jenny. Paul moved his head, trying to tell her to come down. Jenny nodded and held up a finger, saying one minute.

She down stairs to find the kitchen clear and placed her now empty mug in the sink and then headed out. She hugged Paul's neck when she got to him.

"Hey Paulie."

Paul grumbled at her.

"I know, I know. You don't like the nickname, but you can deal with it." Paul rolled his eyes at her and wrapped his tail around her. She leaned into him, enjoying the heat that rolled off of him. They stood like that for a few minutes until Jake and Sam came back.

"Seth and Leah will be staying here tonight with Alice and Jasper. The others will be spread through out Forks and La Push. They're hoping to catch the guy tonight," Jake explained as Jenny went to him. Jake wrapped his arms around her.

"And if they don't?" She asked, fearful.

"Then we'll continue to rotate until we do catch him."

Jake surprised Jenny by being her up and carrying her bridal style back into the house. She turned and waved good bye to Sam and Paul. They nodded back at her before retreating into the woods. Jake carried her all the way into her room and curled back up with her on the bed.

"Now I didn't finish sleeping..."

"Oh, Jake..."
