Day 11 (Wednesday)
Once I woke up and got dressed, I walked down the hall towards Adrien's room. As nervous as I was to hear what he had to say, I needed to finally talk to him to end this awkwardness between us. Strangely, I saw that the door looked like someone was pushing against it, and I could hear noises of hands against the door. I tentatively knocked on the door.
"Just a moment," After a few seconds, the noises stopped, and then the door was opened. "Hey Caity," Adrien said with a smile. I was so happy to see him smile at me again.
"Um, if you don't mind me asking, what was that noise against the door?" I asked.
"Oh, that. Come, check this out." He gestured for me to come into the room and he closed the door so I could see the back of the door. I was surprised to see none other than my drawing of Adrien's mother now tacked to the back of the door. "I put it there so when my door is closed, I can see her from my bed."
"You really like it that much?"
"It looks great Caity, thank you."
"I'm glad you like it. And, I'm sorry. About… you know."
"Yeah. I know. It's okay. I forgive you."
"I don't care whether you're Cat Noir or not. I just care about whether you're my friend."
"I'd say you're definitely one of my best friends. I would invite you to my next birthday if I could."
"I'll be there on a videochat, I guess." Adrien grabbed his phone and checked it.
"Wow, look at the time. We'd better get breakfast before we have to leave for school." On the way to school, we chatted happily like before. When we got to the locker room, Alya excitedly asked me if we were still on for the museums today. She told me that herself, Marinette and Nino had confirmed that they're all in if I want to go. I told them I'd love to, and Adrien said he would also come.
And so off we went after school, with Adrien's bodyguard insisting on driving us. First we went to the wax museum, where we saw statues of all sorts of people, from musicians to TV hosts to weathergirls. But my favourite part was the hall of heroes, where I was surprised to see that the museum had staues of Ladybug and Cat Noir, as well as people who had been akumatised in the past. I looked closely at each of them, trying to see if they looked like anyone I had seen around Paris. As I started to look at one of them, a girl in a black outfit holding something small, Alya came close to me and said quietly, "Hey, um, so I don't admit it to everyone but… yeah, that was me."
"It's okay. I got akumatised once too. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up here. I'm kind of glad I don't remember what I did when I was amukatised, I don't want to know what kind of mess I made." I said.
"Don't worry about it, Ladybug fixes everything after she saves us." Alya said.
"Hey, so they call this the hall of heroes, but only Ladybug and Cat Noir are here." Nino said, now next to Alya. "They should add in other heroes, like Rena Rogue." He said, pulling Alya in for a hug, and Alya smiled happily. I wondered for a moment why the mention of Rena Rogue made Alya so happy, but seeing my expression, Nino clarified, "She's Alya's favourite of the heroes that join Ladybug and Cat Noir sometimes."
"Hey Alya, did you hear there was someone else helping them when Stormy Weather attacked to other day?" Adrien said.
"What kind of blogger would I be if I wasn't the first to know?" Alya said. "I was at home when the hail hit, and I managed to get a few pictures from my window. She was great, Cat Noir wouldn't have gotten out of that tornado without her." I tried to hide my smile at the compliment.
"Cat Noir tried his best. I saw him helping people get inside building to save them from the hail. He didn't seem to care about himself getting hit. And I did get hit by it and let me tell you, that stuff really hurt." I told them.
"I think their suits are pretty tough though, it probably didn't hurt much." Alya said. I shrugged and turned my attention to the statues of Ladybug and Cat Noir. After I was done looking at them, we headed off to leave. We still had the Lourve to go to.
Once at the Lourve, there was a lot to look at. I wasn't all that interested, but I still took notes about some of the stuff I saw, since I was going to need to write a report for my class about cultural stuff I saw while I was here. As we walked down the halls, I spotted a familiar shade of pink in the distance, and recognised someone in the museum talking to a young man I didn't know.
"Alix!" I called. She turned and saw us, and waved, and we walked over to her.
"Hey, you guys," she said.
"We're just taking Caity around to some museums." Adrian said.
"Cool. Caity, that's my brother Jalil. Our family runs the Lourve so we help out here. I guess there's a lot for you to see around here. It's cool they've been showing you around."
"Yeah, sometimes it still feels like I just got here, but there's still only a few days left." I said.
"Which day are you leaving?" She asked.
"Saturday, but that doesn't really count because I need to leave first thing in the morning. The plane leaves here at 9AM our time and then by the time I get home it will be around 5PM Melbourne's time. So the last time I can actually hang out is really this Friday."
"Damn, we need to hang out one more time before you leave. We could have a party and invite the whole class." I thought that was a good idea. Adrien's room is huge, and has so much entertainment, like the arcade games, the huge TV, and more, so everyone would be able to find something to do there.
"Adrien, your room would be perfect. Do you think we could have everyone over at yours?" I asked.
"I'm not sure, he might not let me."
"Hm, maybe you could lie to him, and tell him it's a required part of the exchange program." Alya suggested.
"I don't know, I'm not a good liar. I'll see what I can do."
"Don't stress too much about it. We can make a backup plan, in case he says no." I said, not wanting him to worry himself too much. "We could always just gather everyone in the park or something, I don't know."
When we got home, Adrien spent most of the rest of the day practicing the piano, and when he had finally had enough of that, we looked up some language games to help each other study English and French together. Adrien knew that his father would be more likely to say yes to the party and if he has spent his spare time practicing piano and English.
