Chapter 16- Till There Was You
It has been a month since summer break had started and even though the letter writing had gotten off to a shaky start James and Lily continued to write to each other every day. James and Lily had finally found a day when they were both available in the summer and decided that they wanted to go on a muggle sort of date with each other. The only part that wasn't going to be muggle based was the mode of transportation but, aside from that they would refrain from using magic for the whole date. James had planned the perfect date and was going to pick Lily at that moment.
Lily was very excited for her date with James as they had not seen each other in a month. She was very excited because James had been very quiet about what they were going to do on this date or even where they were going on the date.
James arrived at Lily's front door and knocked. Luckily for James no one else was home except for Lily as James wasn't ready yet to meet Lily's parents.
"James it's so good to see you" Lily screamed as she ran into James's arms.
"It's so good to see you too Lily you look beautiful as always." James responded as he kissed Lily, causing Lily to blush.
"Where are we going on this date?" Lily asked
"you'll just have to wait and find out." James responded and with that he took Lily's hand and apparated out of Cokeworth.
When Lily finally got herself situated again, she looked and she didn't recognize where they were.
"James darling, where are we?" Lily asked.
"We're in New York." James responded "but, this isn't just any place in New York look at where we are."
Lily looked around and saw that they were right outside of a show production place and then she recognised it this was where the Beatles had their first live performance in America on the Ed Sullivan Show.
"James this is perfect!" Lily said with her eyes gleaming.
"I'm glad you like it we have a whole tour of the building today." James told Lily
James had booked the theatre for a whole two hours so they could walk around the studio and see where the Beatles really kicked off the British invasion. Nearing the end of their tour they stood on the stage where the Beatles had been first introduced to the world in front of 73 million people.
"James why do you love me?" Lily asked.
James responded by singing to Lily
There were bells on a hill, but I never heard them ringing no, I never saw them at all till there was you. There were birds in the sky but I never saw them winging no, I never saw them at all till there was you. Then there was music and wonderful roses they tell me in sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew. There was love all around, but I never heard it singing no, I never heard it at all till there was you. Then there was music and wonderful roses they tell me in sweet fragrant meadows of dawn and dew. There was love all around, but I never heard it singing no, I never heard it at all till there was you till there was you.
"You see Lily I love you because the first time I saw the world became a clearer place and I could hear the beauty around me." James told Lily
Lily blushed really hard and James and Lily left the studio after that and James took her back to her house.
"I had a really lovely time James thank you." Lily said as she opened the door to her house.
"I'm glad you liked it cause you know for me there was love all around but I never heard it singing till there was you." James responded and then leant down and kissed Lily.
