...It's Way Past your Bedtime
Authers note: Heyyyy. Sorry I didn't upload last week. I made the incredibly responsible decision to watch all of Yuri On Ice for the first time in one night and was done with it around 6am... I regret nothing. Buuut here I am now so yay! This is just some nice fluff but I'm thinking I wanna go a bit angsty next week, who knows lol. As always please feel free to leave a review and let me know about any spelling/grammar problems. Have fun reading!
Paring: Miyuki x Sawamura
11:55pm
"KAZUYAAAAA PLEASEEEEEEE."
"How many times do I have to say it? I need to get work done,"
Sawamura pouted. Miyuki had a bunch of finals he needed to study for and was planning on pulling an all-nighter to get it all done. The "ever so helpful' Sawamura, (Sawamura's own words) offered to stay up with Miyuki.
"Just let me keep you companyyyyy," moaned Sawamura. Miyuki let out a short laugh and shifted around in his desk chair to grin at Sawamura.
"I have coffee and music to keep me company, you're just gonna distract me and we both know it." Sawamura stomped his foot like an angry child.
"You're such a mean boyfriend! Why did I even agree to go out with you?"
"Probably 'cause I'm hot," Miyuki supplied simply. Sawamura flushed bright red and punched Miyuki on the shoulder.
"And for that comment, you are definitely now stuck with me for the rest of the night. So HA payback!" Sawamura dropped his head on Miyuki's shoulder and gave a smirk quite like the one he always wore.
God, I've corrupted him, Miyuki thought hopelessly as he turned to his desk and began setting up all his books and papers.
"So what classes do you have to study for again?" Sawamura asked.
"It's mostly math, but some history and biology as well," Miyuki told him.
"And all of these tests are tomorrow?"
"Yeah,"
"Then why are you just studying for hem now?" Sawamura fixed Miyuki with a pointed look, "You always get on my case for doing all my work the night before its due, but now look at you."
"Well unlike you Eijun, I do all my work on time. This is just extra studying, so don't worry, I would never be as lazy as you and do all my work right before I have to turn it in," Miyuki snickered. Sawamura huffed indignantly and lifted his head off Miyuki's shoulder.
"This is gonna be a long night, why don't you get us both some coffee?" Miyuki muttered already flipping through a history textbook.
"Get it yourself!" Sawamura complained. Miyuki glared at him.
"Ok, ok, I'm going," Sawamura threw his hands up and stormed out of Miyuki's room.
1:13am
"I'm bored," Sawamura complained from his seat on the floor next to Miyuki.
"Yeah, I told you this wasn't going to be much fun," Miyuki murmured as he scribbled something down in a notebook. There was an empty can of coffee on the floor by his feet and a half-empty can at his side.
"You should take a break from just reading a book, give your eyes a rest I suppose," Sawamura suggested. Miyuki turned to face him and adjusted his glasses up his nose.
"And what, pray tell, do you recommend I should do instead?" he asked curiously.
"How about you make some flashcards for terms and things to remember, then I can quiz you!" Sawamura said cheerfully. Miyuki shrugged.
"Sure why not," he grabbed a stack of notecards and some pens and chucked them on the floor next to Sawamura.
"We can just use your notes to know what to put on them," Sawamura reached up onto Miyuki's desk for his notebook and Miyuki flipped to a page with a bunch of dates and names of places.
"Let's start with history," he said and Miyuki and Sawamura got to work on the flashcards.
"What colors should I use?" Sawamura asked while digging through the pile of pens.
"Why the fuck does it matter?" Miyuki twirled a pen between his fingers.
"Because it's fuuun! The colors gotta match!" Sawamura exclaimed as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. Miyuki just sighed.
Sawamura continued to babble happily about what colors to use while completely forgetting about the task at hand. Miyuki silently picked up a pen and chucked it at Sawamura.
"I would like to be done with these by, oh I don't know, this year," he deadpanned. Sawamura gave him a look of complete and utter betrail.
"MIYUKI KAZUYA! HOW DARE YOU!" Sawamura screeched, indignantly. Miyuki smirked. It appeared a tired Sawamura was even more fun to tease than normal. He launched another pen at Sawamura.
"KAZUYA I AM A PITCHER, THIS IS DEFINITELY A FIGHT YOU ARE GONNA LOSE!" Sawamura yelled as he picked up and a handful of pens and prepared to whip them at Miyuki.
"Shit..." Miyuki murmured and quickly jumped out of the way of one of the pens Sawamura threw. He grabbed a handful of pens to attempt to defend himself.
2:47am
Sawamura and Miyuki eventually did manage to finish making the flashcards and Sawamura quizzed Miyuki with them for some time. He had his head buried in a math textbook now, with a pair of earbuds in and about 4 empty cans of coffee littered all around him. Sawamura was sprawled out on Miyuki's bed, listening to his boyfriend's soft humming. It almost seemed like he didn't even realize he was doing it. Sawamura was about to drift into unconsciousness when he heard Miyuki softly chuckle to himself and start to hum a song Sawamura recognized. He shot straight up in Miyuki's bed and stared at him, now wide awake.
"Is that from Given?!" he asked, sounding completely shocked. All Miyuki could do was shrug and nod helplessly.
"So you're telling me you have seen Given? You, Miyuki Kazuya, have seen the gay romance anime Given?" Sawamura asked again.
"Yeah," Miyuki murmured, "why do you sound so shocked?"
"Because you always tease me for reading shoujo manga!" Sawamura exclaimed.
"Well that's because shoujo manga is so cliché, plus Given was way better than any of you manga," Miyuki flipped a page in his textbook.
sounded mildly offended, Sawamura asked, "Oh ya, how so?"
"It's gay for starters," Miyuki turned to look at Sawamura.
With a look of defeat, Sawamura relented, "Ok I can't really argue with that."
"And all the music is amazing,"
"Agreed," Sawamura slid off Miyuki's bed and grabbed his computer.
"What are you doing," Miyuki shook his head at Sawamura.
"Ummm obviously we're about to watch all of Given right now," Sawamura explained.
"Yeah, I need to actually do work so that's not really going to go well..." Miyuki trailed off as he heard the opening theme start up. He sighed and moved some books off his desk so Sawamura could set his computer down.
"Fine but I swear to god if I get distracted I'm turning it off," he muttered. Sawamura just smirked.
4:24am
Miyuki had long since abandoned working at his desk. He was sitting on the floor with Sawamura heavily leaning on his shoulder. He was absolutely dragging himself through a biology worksheet while simultaneously trying not to lose his mind over the episode of Given he and Sawamura were currently watching.
Sawamura was straight-up bawling even though he had re-watched the show countless times and Miyuki had to admit, the first time he watched it he got a little choked up too. He took a sip from his second can of Monster (coffee wasn't strong enough to keep him functioning so he decided that the actual poison that is Monster Energy should do the trick) and put an arm around Sawamura's shoulder in an attempt to console him. Honestly, it was way past Sawamura's bedtime and he was impressed he was still awake. He thought that having Sawamura stay up with him would be a complete disaster and he wouldn't get any work done at all. But really, it was nice to have Sawamura's company.
Miyuki felt Sawamura press his head into the crook of his neck and he couldn't help but smile at just how damn cute Sawamura was being. The sleeper he got, the more cuddly he got. Miyuki dropped a quick kiss on Sawamura's head and turned his attention back to his biology work.
5:01am
Sawamura groggily read out another term on a flashcard for Miyuki to define. Miyuki was so tired he couldn't even understand what Sawamura was saying. They were sprawled out on the floor with Sawamura laying in Miyuki's lap and surrounded by empty cans of coffee and Monster, the last episode of Given softly playing from Sawamura's computer.
"Honestly," Miyuki's own voice sounded foggy and far away from him, "I have no clue what you said."
"Great," Sawamura rubbed his eyes, "I think we should probably just go to sleep, neither of us can even func-" Sawamura's voiced trailed off and Miyuki felt him let out a quiet sigh. The idiot just fell asleep mid-sentence.
Miyuki softly laughed as he admired the content expression on Sawamura's face. He wrapped his arms around Sawamura and, as slowly as he could, stood up and walked over to his bed. He laid Sawamura down and threw a blanket over him. Miyuki would love nothing more than to curl up in bed beside Sawamura, but he still wanted to get just a bit more studying in. He threw himself down onto his desk chair and picked up a textbook at random.
6:38am
Sawamura awoke with a start and shot straight up in bed.
"Where am..." he started to ask aloud before he remembered the events of the previous night-wait it was technically this morning...
A soft voice dragged him from his thoughts, "Sorry, did I wake you up?"
Sawamura's eyes finally focused on the world around him. He saw Miyuki standing in from of the window in his room with the most gorgeous sunrise he had ever seen spread out behind him, casting him in hues of orange and yellow. His messy hair looked golden and fluffy as he ran a hand through it. His amber eyes perfectly matched the view behind him and they seemed to spark in the soft morning light. All Sawamura could do was stare.
"Sawamura?" Miyuki murmured. Sawamura continued to stare. Miyuki cocked his head at him and the way his hair fell loosely into his face and how the corners of his mouth turned up in a confused smile...god it was just too much for Sawamura.
"I love you," Sawamura said softly. In his tired, half-awake state it just kind of slipped out. It was Miyuki's turn to stare at him now.
"W-what," Miyuki stuttered
"Holy shit...did I say that out loud," Sawamura panicked, the groggy fog of just waking up beginning to clear from his mind.
"Wait, wait, no, it's ok...I just wasn't expecting it, that's all," Miyuki walked over to the bed, sat down next to Sawamura, and grabbed his hand.
"I love you too," he whispered and brushed his lips against Sawamura's. He smiled against Miyuki's lips and kissed him back.
"I love you," he repeated.
"I love you too," Miyuki took Sawamura into his arms and held him there. The words just seemed to roll off his tongue so easily. They just felt right to say. The fact that he was absolutely braindead also probably helped him say that without overthinking himself.
"As much as I would absolutely love to stay here for the rest of my life, I believe you have I final to take in 20 minutes," Sawamura murmured against Miyuki's neck. Miyuki huffed.
"Fuck."
