Lyni took to the medbay like a fish to water. Her cheerful, kind and sweet disposition helped the brothers alot. But there was also a ruthless streak when it came to what was best for their health, that balanced out her kind hearted fairness.
Within the next few months everyone became accustomed to Lyni's aid in the med bay. And to her bringing Wolffe coffee in the morning. Occasionally she brought him food if he had been skipping meals.
The first time this happened was a few days after they started sharing quarters. Wolffe had been in meetings all morning and hadn't eaten that day. The meeting threatened to go on for another few hours and his fellow vode also looked tired.
Then there was a distraction made by Lyni walking into the room with a tray and setting it by him. "What's this?" Commander Fox growled.
Lyni ignored him, instead she addressed Wolffe, "You haven't eaten all day." She pushed the tray closer, "And you need to in order to have a clear head for decisions."
He looked at the tray resting on the holotable where the discussion was being held, and thanked her. But noticed that she had settled herself on the side of the table. "Are you going to sit there and watch me while I eat?"
A slightly quizzical smile, "I have nowhere to go and all day to get there."
Rolling his eyes Wolffe picked up the sandwich and started on it. The Vode continued with the discussion on how different areas were going. "Thank you Bly," Cody said as his vode finished. By then Wolffe had finished his food, and Lyni had picked up the tray. As the last syllables left Cody's mouth the door shut behind her.
Rex spoke into the momentary silence, "How is your wife doing Wolffe."
Fox's shock was clear as Wolffe answered, "Insisting that I eat is a new development. Otherwise the situation is proceeding well." That was the end of the topic and they turned back to the various issues for discussion. Including the battles currently keeping them from Ironida.
