Chapter 12:

Can't Wait To Be Leader 1 ½

Bucky POV:

Back in the crowd, everyone was passed out except for me and Bess who were very surprised. There was a silence between the three of us but I broke the silence and said with proudness " So that's your special power, huh? What a weapon!".

" Wait, you mean...you guys don't mind?" said Mort shaking his head in confusion.

" Are you kidding? Darling, it was a gas," said Bess as she and I laughed.

" Mort, why didn't you tell us before?" I asked.

" Well, you know how we Dasygriffs are," replied Mort.

" Makes sense," said Bess getting the point.

" Anyway, let's go you two. There's a place with our name on it," I said as I led the way.

" Right behind you, Bucky," said Bess as she follows behind me.

" Lead the way," said Mort as he follows after me and Bess.

Bess POV:

While we were walking pass the bowed down crowd, Mort and I stopped for a second to see Zecora holding up a brownish-orange Hippogriff colt in the air. We were quite confused for a second but then we continued on following Bucky.

Later that night, we have reached the garden and settled in for the night. Mort was inside the house working on something while Bucky and I were busy making hammocks outside.

" This is it, guys. Home sweet home," said Bucky with a laugh.

" This is really lovely, Bess," said Mort.

" Why, thank you, Mort. I just have to look beyond what we see and found this perfect garden," I said as I set up my own hammock and began laying down on it.

Bucky laid down in his hammock and said " You said it, Bess. This garden has everything we need. Lots of flowers for us to eat, plenty of water to drink, and it's near The Great Red Barn,".

" Don't forget, Bucky that this place is also perfect to make hammocks," I added.

"And to make up three beds…," added Mort.

Mort took us into the house and showed us our bed of different sizes.

" The small one's for Bucky, the medium one's for Bess, and the big one's for me," said Mort as he showed us which bed belongs to who.

Bucky POV:

I was surprised by how Mort arranged the bed. Then I walked over to my bed and yawned as I stretched out my arms and said " Boy, all this moving in got me tired,".

Then I laid down in my nest and closed my eyes as I yawned one last time.

" He's right. After all, this moving has done a rating on my delicate spine," said Bess as she yawned and got into her bed and fell asleep.

Mort then heads to his bed and settles in as he yawned and closed his eyes.

" Goodnight," he said.

" Goodnight," said Bess with a yawn.

" Sleeptight," I said.

" Dream of tasty plants for tonight," said Mort.

Then we all slept peacefully in our new home as I said " Home Sweet Home Indeed,".

And we slept as the nights went by.

Narrator POV:

A few years have passed since The Three Friends have settled in their new home. Then during the afternoon, it was still peaceful and quiet. In the garden house, Bucky, Bess, and Mort were still sleeping. Bucky was sleeping peacefully until a muffled sound was heard and it sounded like music. The music was bothering Bucky as he tries to block the sound and go back to sleep but the music didn't stop.

Bucky got up with an annoyed and bothered look on his face and got out of his bed. Mort and Bess were still sleeping in their bed as if the music wasn't bothering them. Bucky walked over and grabbed a pole as he walks back and pokes the ceiling.

" Hey! Will You Keep It Down Out There?! I'm Trying To Sleep!" yelled Bucky angrily and annoyed.

" Do we have neighbors?" asked Bess as she woke up and yawns as she rubbed her eyes.

" Maybe we should say hello to them," said Mort as he woke up in a happy mood.

" Noisy Neighbors. There goes the property values," said Bucky as he stopped poking the ceiling.

Then we hear a chorus singing in the background.

Chorus: Let every Griff go for broke and sing.

Let's hear it in the herd and on the wing.

Let's be glad that David will be there.

The Three Friends came out of their garden house home and saw that the background has changed into different colors. Bucky looks around with an annoyed look trying to find out where the music and singing is coming from. Then when he looked up, Bucky wouldn't believe what he's seeing…

The chorus of Bovigriffs, Giraffagriffs, Folivoragriffs, Okapiagriffs, and etc formed a tower with two Hippogriff foals on top on the back of a Greyhoundgriff.

David and Chorus: Oh, I Just Can't-Wait To Be Leader!

Oh, I Just Can't-Wait To Be Leader!

" What are they doing?" asked Mort.

" I think they're celebrating some kind of party," guessed Bess.

" Well, if you ask me, I say we moved to the theater district. Get a load on these guys," said Bucky being irritated with the music and singing.

Then Bucky walks over to the leg of a Bovigriff and yells " KNOCK IT OFF!".

After that, Bucky hits the leg with the pole and the Bovigriff begins to lose balance.

David and Chorus: Oh, I Just Can't Waaaaiiiiiitttt…

Which caused the entire Mammagriff tower to topple and all the creatures fell.

" Bucky and Bess, look out!" yelled Mort as he grabbed Bucky and Bess who froze in their tracks as the tower begins to fall.

David and Chorus: ...To Be Leader!

The Greyhoundgriff fell on the heads of the Folivoragriffs, the Okapiagriffs got their necks tangled, and a Bovigriff landed on the horns of a Capragriff and screamed in pain.

The Three Friends head back inside their garden house home and covered their eyes as the tower collapsed and destroyed the garden house. Now the Mammagriff tower is a pile of hurt and injured Mammagriff. At the bottom of the pile, Bucky, Bess, and Mort poked their heads out of the pile.

Mort looked over at Bess and Bucky and said " Moving Day?".

Bess sighed and said " Yes,".

Author's Note: Well now you know how the Mammagriff Tower collapsed in the original story. Also, in the scene where The Three Friends were sleeping in their beds now that was the opposite of the scene from TLK 1 1/2. Unlike Timon and Pumbaa, Bucky gets the small bed and Mort gets the big one.
