Chapter 13: Memories of the Past
4 Months have passed since Blitz and Thorn began living with their new friends. Their lives have changed for the better.
Kate is pregnant. Thorn is visibly pregnant with Blitz being overprotective of her, Marcel, Paddy and Jude being the best of friends, playing golf and what not.
One, full moon night, right after sunset, while lying outside thinking Jude lands to tell him some news.
Jude: Hey Blitz.
Blitz: Hey Jude, what's up?
Jude: While on my casual late night flight I spotted two wolves jump off the same train that brought you and Thorn here.
Blitz looks a little intrigued, as Thorn walks up to them and they see her.
Blitz: Shouldn't you be getting some rest?
Thorn: I'm not sleepy. Don't worry about me, I'll be alright.
Blitz chuckled and said "OK".
Thorn: What's that I overheard Jude?
Jude: While on my casual late night flight I spotted two wolves jump off the same train that brought you both here.
Blitz and Thorn look at each other then back at him.
Thorn: Did you overhear them say something?
Jude: Only important thing I overheard them say is that they came from Wyoming.
They look at each other with a bit of worry then Blitz turns to Thorn and says "You stay here. We'll go check it out".
Thorn: OK.
And with that Thorn goes back inside her den while Blitz and Jude go to check it out.
But first he goes to talk to Winston about it.
Winston: Hey Blitz, what's going on?
Jude lands on the branch of a nearby tree.
Blitz: Tell him.
Jude: While on my casual late night flight I spotted two wolves jump off the same train that brought them here. The only important thing I heard is that they came from Wyoming.
Blitz: We're gonna go and check it out.
Winston: Alright, once you're finished tell me what you find out.
Blitz: Alright.
He climbs the trees and carefully maneuvers trough the treetops unseen and unheard. He then sees the two wolves in the distance that look familiar to him, his eyes glow yellow and he looks at them in shock.
Jude: Blitz, what's wrong? Do you…know those wolves?
Blitz: Yeah, I do…my old friends.
His eyes stop glowing and he creeps closer, hearing them talk.
Frost: Honestly, Jasper looks beautiful.
Echo: Yeah…it really does.
Frost: You seem a little on edge.
Echo: Sorry, I still can't get over what we saw in Montana.
Frost: Don't worry about it. We're a long ways away from Montana. There's no werewolf here.
Just then Blitz jumps down from the tree and lands in the shadows on his hind legs…the two of them looking on in awe and fright.
Echo: You had to say it.
Blitz: It's nice to see you two again after so long.
Frost: What?
He then steps out into the Moonlight, smiles and asks "Miss me"?
Echo: BLITZ?!
Blitz said "Who else" and went back down on all fours.
Frost: What…what happened to you?
Blitz: Werewolf bite, that's what happened. Anyone who's bitten by a werewolf and lives becomes one.
Echo: Where the hell have you been?! We thought you were dead!
Blitz: Sorry to disappoint you.
Frost: Disappoint? No, never.
Echo: So this is where you and Thornell have been all this time?
Blitz: Yeah, me and Thorn we…this is where we were all this time.
Frost: Thorn?
Blitz: Yeah, she…went through a name change after we left.
Frost: Ah, OK.
Echo: Why did you two leave?
Blitz: We just…felt like we needed to get out on our own…live our own lives, you know? We did and it turned out great for the two of us.
Echo: Well…we're just glad that you're both OK.
Blitz: Thanks. I'm…I'm sorry for not telling you what the two of us were gonna do, It's better that you didn't know so you wouldn't be in any trouble after words.
Frost: Really? Thanks.
Blitz: I want to ask. What happened after the two of us left?
Frost: We were worried and so were a couple of others. Your parents and Thorn's parents pretended to care but they actually didn't care.
Blitz: Huh, I'm honestly not surprised. I always wonder how somebody could be so ill and yet so cruel and evil like them.
Echo: Hah…anyway. We all thought you'd come back but when you didn't we gave up thinking you were both dead.
Blitz: Well…we're not. We're perfectly fine. In fact…we managed to not only be in full control like this but find a pack that accepted us.
Frost: Really? Would they…accept us?
Blitz: Oh absolutely. Come on, we'll talk along the way.
They began walking back, catching up along the way.
Blitz: So…what brings you both here to Jasper?
Echo: There was an incident at the pack, Human Hunters.
Frost: Some of the pack was killed while the rest scattered. Both you're parents and Thorn's parents didn't make it.
Blitz: Can't say that I'm gonna miss them but can't say that I'm glad their dead either. All I'll say is that they got hit with karma. What about Thorn's friends?
Frost: Storm and Archer? They went in the other direction. We fled to Jasper because we heard good things about it.
They make it back to Winston.
Winston: Alright, you two follow me.
Echo: See you tomorrow Blitz.
Blitz: See you both tomorrow. We've got a lot of catching up to do.
With that he leaves for his and Thor's den. After a couple of minutes, he makes there and finds her gazing out at the stars. She noticed he came back.
Thorn: Well…what happened?
Blitz: I reunited with my old friend…that's what happened.
Thorn smiled and said "Great to hear but…what are they doing here"?
Blitz: They said that there was an incident back at the pack.
Thorn: What kind of incident? What happened?
Blitz: Human hunters. Some members of the pack were killed while the rest scattered. Your old friends, Storm and Archer survived but both you're parents and my parents weren't so lucky.
Thorn: Wow…I can't say I don't feel bad for them but I can't say that I'm gonna miss them either.
Blitz: Me too. Not gonna say that I'm gonna miss my parents but I'm not gonna say I'm glad that they got what they served either. In the end karma caught up to them it seems.
Thorn: Yeah, it appears so.
Blitz: Echo and Frost came here because they heard nice things about Jasper.
Thorn: Well then good for them. What about my friends?
Blitz: They went in the other direction.
Thorn: Oh thank god.
Blitz: Tomorrow me and my friends got a lot of catching up to do.
Thorn: Great to hear. Now let's go to sleep.
They go in their den, snuggle up, say goodnight to each other and go to sleep.
