-Chapter 13-

Huey had texted Jazmine to inform her what time he would be picking her up for them to hang out. He had decided after sunset so that his plan would be put into action. Since they were adults, they had more freedom when it came to curfews, even a stiff like Tom had to get used to it. Huey was going to make himself so unappealing that even the sweet and benevolent Jazmine wouldn't want to be his friend anymore. Huey had felt horrible for doing this, but he came to the conclusion that it was for the best for her. He showed up to the Dubois home wearing a faux leather beige jacket over a redshirt and dark blue jeans, along with some brown shoes. He rang the doorbell, hoping that Sarah wouldn't be the one to answer it, however it was fortunately answered by Tom.

"Huey, you're here!" the attorney greeted, allowing the young man inside. "You're just in time, I think Jazmine is almost ready." he added, placing a friendly arm around Huey's shoulder as the two men headed to the living room. As soon as they entered, Huey felt a glaring pair of blue eyes on him. Sarah was visibly upset at Huey as she sat on her coach calmly with the TV in the background. She didn't say a single word, not even a hello. Huey even knew that if her husband or daughter weren't in the house, the housewife would've gone off on him.

Sarah then turned away to face the TV, acting like nothing bothered her. However Huey could feel the tension, meanwhile Tom was naturally oblivious to it.

"Would you like anything to drink before you guys head out, Huey?" Tom asked, trying to be a good host, unlike his wife.

"I'm good, Mr. Dubois." Huey replied.

Tom chuckled. "Well alrighty then, I'll go upstairs and check on Jazmine." With that, the attorney went upstairs to inform Jazmine that Huey was waiting for him. While waiting, Huey sat next to Sarah on the couch, predicting that she wanted to talk to him.

"Mrs. Dubois, I get that I promised you something but it sorta just happened." Huey explained. "First your husband, then my granddad-"

"Spare me your excuses." Sarah stated bitterly, refusing to look at him. "You gave me your word that you wouldn't take Jazmine out and now look at you. Think I wouldn't have found out? Because my husband was going on about it all day yesterday."

"Well it was either me take her out or Riley and I don't know if I would've been able to live with myself if we went with the latter!" Huey explained. "Look, I have a plan and after that, she'll never want to be near me ever again."

Sarah glanced at the young man feeling some comfort, however she wasn't going to fully buy it unless she saw Jazmine ranting about him herself. She didn't say another word as she heard both Tom and Jazmine coming from upstairs into the living room. Huey was stunned at his friend's appearance, she wore a two piece, green bodycon dress that showed a bit of her toned stomach along with black shoes. Her makeup was done naturally which brought out her eyes more and her cheeks were a slight, rouge color. He could also tell that she applied a bit of lip gloss. Sarah could even see that the revolutionary was staring at her daughter, prompting a glare and not even a word to her daughter.

"Thank you for coming, Huey." Jazmine said, smiling at her friend. "I can't wait to catch up, it feels like it's been forever!"

"Uh..yeah..." Huey replied, still staring at her appearance. She was stunning, but Huey wondered why she was so dolled up if they were just going to hang out as friends, not that he was complaining. However he was then reminded of his task as soon as he saw Sarah glare at the young man, Huey immediately felt guilty deep down without showing it. Jazmine looked like she was excited to see him, but now he had to keep her away.

After the two left the Dubois home, Huey was driving Jazmine to their destination that he planned for. He didn't really do much talking during the car ride, which was normal for Huey Freeman, however even Jazmine began to figure that the revolutionary seemed a bit tense. The way he was holding on the steering wheel was one of the cues as well as the intense focus on the road, then again, it was getting dark and harder to see.

"So where are we going first?" Jazmine asked.

"You'll see." he only replied.

After driving for a few minutes more, Huey had parked near a specific building. It was one that Jazmine had never seen before, it also looked rather shady compared to most buildings, however there was music playing and people chatting. Huey told Jazmine that they were here, prompting her to get out of his car. They began to walk to the building with Huey speed walking in front of her, which was odd for Jazmine. Normally he would walk with her, like they did to school. However now it was almost like he was walking as if she wasn't with him, which made her question if things have changed between them.

They had entered the building that had a bar, which was dark but still dim due to the lights. It also reeked of smoking and booze as well as perfume. Loud music played in the background, but was dimmed from the whistling that came from other people. Jazmine had also paid attention to the crowd, which mainly consists of men from young to old. It also felt like she was the only woman in the building. It was definitely not true because they were women there, but there was definitely something off about these women, at least to Jazmine. The women in the building were all dolled up and dressed in nothing but bikinis, pasties, or thongs along with high stiletto heels. A few of them were dancing on stage, gaining the cheers and dollar bills from men in the audience. They were all so seductive and lively, Jazmine knew she had a bad feeling entering the building.

It then dawned on Jazmine that it wasn't just a bar, it was a strip club.
