Chapter 14: Threads of Fate
Dani bit her bottom lip in pain as she grimaced in pain. Jazz was sitting on a stool behind her clad in only a white bra and panties while the halfa herself was sitting naked in a bathtub, her back towards her elder sister to wash the wound that still wasn't fully healed from Fright Knight. The redheads hands were scrubbing into the halfa's back using a special soap that wouldn't infect the wound even more.
"How are you doing Dani?" Jazz asked softly as she continued to scrub around the wound.
"I'm doing okay sis." Dani said as she continued to grimace. "This is the only part that really hurts." She said with a groan. "And it's kinda embarrassing having you bath me like this.
Jazz smiled warmly behind Dani and giggled. "No need to be embarrassed. We used to take baths together all the time. And while you were unconscious I would fully bathe you everyday till you woke up, and I mean fully lil sis."
Dani stiffened, her eyes going wide at her elder sister's words.
"Before you ask, yes. That included your breasts and vagina." Jazz said as if it wasn't a big deal which only caused Dani to blush brightly. "It's nothing to be ashamed of Dani. Everyone needs help from time to time and that includes you." Jazz let out a sigh seeing Dani not calming down.
'I swear lil sis. We go through this everyday and you still get embarrassed.' Jazz thinks to herself, continuing to clean around the gash on Dani's back.
"Your biggest issue is me seeing you naked and me helping you wash right?" Jazz says using a cup to get rid of the soap on Dani's back. Seeing Dani nod her head the redhead smiles. "Would it help if instead of just helping you, I joined you? The tub is more than large enough for two grown adults to be comfortable. Then you could wash my back since I'm washing yours. It would be like when we were kids."
Dani turned around and stared at her elder sister in shock. "That would be wrong sis. We are both adults. I can... understand you helping me wash like you are, but to share a bath..."
Jazz shrugs her shoulders. "How do you think I had to bathe you before? To make sure you wouldn't drown in the water I normally was in the tub with you, leaning your body against mine while I washed you."
Dani goes wide eyed at Jazz's words, before turning back forward.
"If you ever want to, the door is open Dani." Jazz said standing up from her spot on the stool. "I'll let you finish up on your own." She said turning around and reaching down for her pair of pants.
"Jazz..." Dani says softly, still facing away from her sister.
"Yes?" Jazz called back turning around to face Dani, the pair of pants hanging from her hand.
"Thank you..." She says softly as she moves on to wash her hair and body.
Jazz smiled as she slipped her pants on and walked out slipping her shirt on.
Two hours later Dani and Paulina were sitting on the halfa's bed in their night clothes. Paulina was wearing a long pink nightgown that was nearly see through, while Dani wore a thin nightshirt and shorts.
"Ok girl spill. What's the truth about you and Kitty? I know it has something to do with what you told me about her before when she used you to make Johnny jealous but what?" Paulina asked, crossing her arms under her breasts while she stared at her best friend.
Dani bit her lip before looking over at her door. Seeing it locked she turned back to Paulina.
"Before I say anything you have to promise me a few things."
"That's not how this works Dani. Spill." Paulina said aggressively.
"If you can't promise me these few things, I can't tell you. Please..." Dani pleaded.
Paulina glared at the black haired girl before sighing. "Okay... what do I have to promise?"
"Just that no one outside of this room will hear what I say. Not my parents, not Jazz, and not Dash. No one."
Paulina raises her hands to Dani. "I promise, nothing between us will come out."
Dani smiled warmly before lightly blushing. "Well... Kitty came over the other day to see how I was doing. After we spoke for a little while she asked if we could give what we had another try, but this time without anything hidden. No making Johnny jealous, or lies between us." She explained her blush brightening.
Paulina grinned at Dani. "And I'm guessing the movie was more of a first date?" She asked.
"Not really..." Dani said softly. "It was more of a makeup date."
"And tell me... Did she finally give you that real kiss you wanted?" Paulina asked, causing the halfa to blush brightly. "She did. And how was it?"
Dani looked down and mumbled something that the latina couldn't hear.
"Speak up Dani. I couldn't hear you."
"Perfect..." She said again, just loud enough for her best friend to hear.
Paulina lurched at Dani wrapping her arms around the halfa, hugging her tightly. "Oh Dani, I'm so happy for you." She squealed shocking Dani.
"You... you're not disgusted?"
"Why would I be? Dating other girls is perfectly fine in my book." Paulina said happily.
"But what about last time... you seemed a little disgusted..."
"That wasn't because Kitty was a girl, but a ghost. After everything that has happened through, it doesn't matter to me. I know most people now just see you as a hero and nothing more. Almost everyone would be a bad choice, but the ghosts don't see you as such... At Least to such a degree that humans do anyway." Paulina explained smiling warmly at Dani. "If you will be happy with Kitty then I will support you however I can."
Dani smiled and wrapped her arms around Paulina, hugging her tightly. "Thank you Paulina. That means the world to me."
The next two weeks flew by fast for Dani, between her and Kitty going out on dates and trying to make it look like two friends hanging out and then her time spent with Jazz at home. It had become common that the two sisters would sleep together, Dani being scared of her nightmares returning.
One night that Dani had tried to sleep without her sister she had woken up screaming from a nightmare that had caused Jazz to rush into her bedroom and comfort her. Dani's night clothes were soaked in sweat from the nightmare so the redhead had suggested taking just a cool bath to relax, which had prompted the halfa into begging her elder sister not to leave her alone causing the two sisters to end up in the bath together, Dani snuggling against her elder sisters nude body.
The next morning the halfa had woken up with her head laying against Jazz's bare breasts. She learned she had fallen asleep in the bath and had clung onto Jazz so tightly that she couldn't get dressed so she just carried Dani to bed and fell asleep naked with her.
The following morning Dani became even more embarrassed when Kitty had told her girlfriend that she saw her and Jazz the night before sleeping naked together. Kitty had teased the halfa all day even during their date with 'Why does another girl get you to third base instead of me?'
"Are you still being a pouty puss?" Kitty teased as she walked side by side with her girlfriend, only for Dani to huff. "Come on Dani, that was three days ago. I didn't mean to see you two naked. I just wanted to come see you. I'm sorry I teased you." The ghost said sweetly.
Dani looked over at Kitty with a glare before slowly smirking. She leaned forward and kissed Kitty on the cheek. "That's for wanting to come see me." She said softly before reaching behind the ghost and giving her a hard slap across her ass, causing Kitty to shriek from the impact. "That's for teasing me." Dani said before running off ahead.
Kitty growled before taking off after the halfa. "Get back here! You'll pay for that spank!"
"Oh don't be like that Kitten. I know you liked it." Dani said giggling as she turned a corner.
The ghost just ran faster after her girlfriend and turned the corner. She smirked seeing Dani's long black hair duck into a building and rushed after her. As she entered the building she looked around.
"Oh Dani..." Kitty cooed out into the empty building. "Where are you?" She called out walking deeper into the building.
Kitty let out a scream as she was tackled from behind before landing on something soft a weight on her. She opened her eyes and stared into the glowing green eyes of Dani's ghost form, before noticing the halfa was straddling her waist. The ghost blinked for a moment before noticing Dani's snow white hair.
"Dani.. you're in your ghost form!" Kitty cried out.
Dani giggled and nodded. "Yeah. Jazz said I was free to use my powers again. Figured this would be a good way to surprise you about it. Besides... I remember you telling me last time we were together how much you liked my snowy white hair." She said with a smile.
Kitty smiled up at her girlfriend. "How often did you think about what we had Dani?"
Dani blushed as she looked down at the green haired ghost. "A lot... more than probably anyone knows. Paulina knew how much I hurt after I tricked you. I was kinda a wreck cause I missed you so much, but I hid away most of the pain even from her."
Kitty sat up leaving the halfa in her lap and wrapped her arms around the white haired girl's waist. "I'm sorry I ever used you like that Dani, but I promise it won't happen again. This time... it's real from the start." She said sweetly.
In the Ghost Zone
Clockwork smiled as he watched Dani and Kitty cuddle together through a portal. His smile turned into a smirk hearing a zinging slash as a red portal opened behind him. From the portal another ghost entered Clockwork's tower.
"Ahhh... Death. To what do I owe the pleasure?" Clockwork asked turning to the red eyed ghost.
"I wanted to find out how your talk with 'her' went." Death replied, blinking at the time master.
"Good and bad." Clockworked answered, turning towards the portal of the cuddling Kitty and Dani. "Lady Fortuna decided not to end me because of a new destiny I opened for young Danielle."
"And what destiny would that be?" Death asked, floating up next to Clockwork.
Clockwork smiled using his magic to create a replica of the image Fortuna had shown him of the Ghost Queen. "This."
Death looked at the image blinking. "It can't be. Is that..."
"Danielle, yes. She becomes the ghost queen. A righteous ruler of the ghost zone who has founded peace with the human world." The master of time said looking happy, before his expression darkens. "But... in the same instance... this can happen." He says using his magic to cause the image of the dark queen to appear next to the ghost queen.
The red eyes of Death widened seeing the dark queen.
"This is the dark queen. While the ghost queen is a righteous ruler... the dark queen rules both the human and ghost realms with an iron fist. She is nearly ten times stronger than Pariah Dark ever was in his prime and holds no remorse."
Death just stared at the image of the dark queen slowly floating towards it. Two skeletal hands extending out from the black cloak of Death only to reach up towards the cowl of the robe. As Death pulled back the cowl, instead of a skull a face appeared. A woman's face who's beauty could rival anyone in the ghost zone or human world. Instead of hair a grey mist rolled down her head and shoulders.
"By the masters. That is Dani?" Death asked in shock. Seeing Clockwork nod the ghostly woman shuddered. "I knew Dani had great power but for something like this..."
"What do you mean? How did you know Dani had great power?"
Death turned to Clockwork looking down. She reached into her robe and pulled out an orb that had hundreds of holes in it.
"You know what this is right?"
"The orb of death. It holds the power to kill any one you so choose." Clockwork said.
"Correct and also wrong." Death said lifting the orb. "This orb was a gift from Fortuna when I became the Master of Death. My mother wanted to make sure I could do my job perfectly." The ghost explained looking at the orb in her skeletal hand. "This is the Orb of Threads. Within this small orb holds the threads of fate for all living... and nonliving creatures."
Clockwork blinked looking at the orb before reverting to his younger self. "What does that mean?"
Death looked at the orb as ten golden threads appeared from holes around the orb. "These ten threads are that of the ten masters. Myself and you included." She said before another thread extended from the orb but this one black. "This thread is of an old man in Amity Park. He is on his deathbed." She says extending her second hand out a pair of scissors appearing. "When I cut the thread. The person's life, or afterlife ends." She says cutting the black thread.
Clockwork watched Death cut the string before turning to one of his portals watching as an aged old man took his last breath and succumbed to death.
"A golden thread such as these ten are uncuttable." Death says raising the scissors to one of the golden threads. "This one... is mine." She says trying to cut the thread only to fail as the scissors only chipped. "There is one... very odd thread." She says softly as a new thread pokes through one of the holes. Instead of gold or black this one looked intangible. "This is Dani's thread of fate." She explains moving the scissors to cut the thread.
"Wait Death! Don't!" Clockwork cried out watching as the master of death snapped the scissors shut over the thread. The master of time's eyes widened seeing the scissors pass through the thread as if it wasn't there.
"Dani's thread can not be cut, but unlike us masters who are golden, she is intangible. Why I have no idea. And as for her." She says pointing to the vault. "She has no thread of fate."
