Hi everyone! I hope you enjoy chapter 13! Goblet of Fire is quite a big book so I'm trying to cover everything in my head that I think Fred and Natalie would deal with this year. I hope you enjoy.
Chapter Thirteen
The next morning, George was already dressed and getting ready to leave the dormitory when Fred and Natalie woke up. "Morning." He sang at the two. "How was… your night."
His brother threw something at his face that George dodged. "Get out of here. We have to get changed."
"What am I supposed to change into?" Natalie realized and her stomach dropped. "I only have my dress from last night. I can't wear that. People will know that I spent the night here."
George snickered. "They're going to know if you walk out in Fred's last year Quidditch clothes."
"We have to snick back to the Slytherin common room. Snape cannot see me like this. I will get into so much trouble." Natalie looked at Fred as he was thinking of a plan.
"McGonagall also wouldn't be pleased that I used the Gryffindor dormitory for a sleepover with a Slytherin." He laughed and kissed her forehead. "We will just have to sneak back. It's okay. It's the day after the ball, I'm sure people aren't fast to rise. Most people stayed up really late last night. We should get going now."
Natalie felt so foolish stepping out of the common room into the corridor. She was wearing a pair of knit socks, black shorts that were rolled up so that they wouldn't fall down, and an XL Gryffindor quidditch shirt that was tied at her waist. She was carrying her dress and Fred was holding onto the black high heels she had worn last night.
Fred laughed at the sight of them. "It is so obvious you stayed over last night."
She frowned. "Well I don't want to get caught! What if they send a letter home to my mum and dad! What if Molly found out!"
He lost his grin at the thought of receiving a howler from his mother about Natalie and him being caught in a suspicious way unlike their usual ways of getting caught. "We have to get you to that common room. She won't let you stay over at the Burrow if she knows what we did. I can't lose my Natalie time in the summer."
Her heart skipped at the thought of him calling it his Natalie time. Her thoughts were interrupted at the sound of footsteps. They jumped into a secret hiding spot as a pair of Ravenclaw prefects walked by heading to the Great Hall, probably for breakfast. He kissed her neck as they were hiding. "You're distracting me…" Natalie complained in a joking way as she hoped out of the hiding spot.
"You're the one being distracting…" He looked down at her and gave her a twirl.
"I'm literally in socks and pajamas." She rolled her eyes. "You're very funny."
He stopped her and looked seriously into her pale eyes. "Natalie. I'm not joking. You're breathtaking no matter what you wear. You being in my clothes however… I think is my favorite." He kissed the tip of her nose playfully before putting his hand on the bottom of her back and led her through the corridors using his years of experience hiding from professors and Peeves to his advantage.
Once they got to the Slytherin common room, before Natalie could whisper the password the door flung open. Pansy, Draco, and Blaise were staring shockingly at Natalie and Fred. Pansy giggled and the dark-haired girl gave Natalie a quick thumbs up which Fred was the only boy to notice. "What the bloody hell…" Draco began.
"I think you should shut your mouth, Malfoy. Forget you saw anything." Fred straightened his shoulders and squared himself in front of the blonde boy.
Fred stood about half a foot over Draco who seemed to notice this. He probably would have felt more confident with Crabbe and Goyle but Pansy and Blaise didn't' seem to keen in jumping into his aid during a fight. This probably had to do with the fact that they like Natalie and respected her relationship with Fred, although they didn't understand it.
Draco turned his attention from Fred to Natalie. "Look at you. Think of what Professor Snape would say if he saw you looking like this. Honestly could you stoop any lower than wearing last night's clothing?"
Pansy looked angrily at Draco. "I don't think that's any of our business, Draco. If it was another house yes, we could send them in for house points. Natalie is one of us. We owe her the privacy." The pug-nosed girls smiled at Natalie. "Sorry, Draco forgets his place sometimes."
The blonde boy's face grew bright red. "Are we going to breakfast or not?"
Blaise seemed all too happy to exit the awkard exchange. The three of them walked around Fred and Natalie towards the Great Hall. Natalie could hear Draco complaining about fairness and his father. Pansy was chiding him the entire way while Blaise just shook his head.
"You Slytherins… are…. Odd." Fred decided as he shook his head.
Natalie laughed. "Yes we are. This Slytherin found the oddest of Gryffindors I think." She cupped his chin and pulled him down into a kiss.
When they pulled apart a figure was standing in the common room entrance. Penelope was laughing and shaking her head. "No… freaking… way…"
Natalie blushed as Fred laughed quietly. "Good morning, Penelope."
Penelope held out her hand. "I'll take those shoes from here, Fred."
"Thanks." He smiled and turned his attention back to Natalie. "I'll see you soon?"
"I would like that." She nodded and waved as he disappeared down the hallway.
"Oh my god. Spill everything!" Penelope dragged her friend up to the Slytherin common room waiting for her to go over and cover every small detail from the night.
Natalie was embarrassed but felt safe with Penelope. The two girls laughed and remarked on the romance of the night as they laid on Penelope's bed. "He sounds… perfect." Penelope sighed and smiled at her friend. "I'm so happy for you, Natalie. You found a keeper."
She smiled in agreement. "I really think I did."
