A/N: Hello, I've been feeling a bit insecure/disappointed in my story lately. I hope I haven't caused you the same disappointment. I've taken some time to write this chapter because I wanted it to be long and interesting enough to entertain you before we eventually come to our end (maybe)? I'm considering writing a sequel to this story about Usagi's pregnancy and the issues it causes already having a baby (obviously I'd still show Mamo's development in the sequel, this story was always meant to be about Mamoru's journey with Usagi and Chibi Mamo but I'm still indecisive about it let me know your thoughts on this please!
Thank you for your kind reviews and feedback, enjoy this chapter this will start off with small christmas moments between the family and get back to the main plot.

Chapter 15: Oh It's a Very Merry Chiba Christmas
Narrator's POV
"Do you need anything baby?" He asked planting kisses along the flat stomach, the stomach he'd soon pridefully see swell with his second child. This time he'd be there through every step of the way. He was going to be apart of this pregnancy with his partner in a way he robbed himself of with their son.
"Mamo-chan" Usagi whined rubbing her eyes tiredly, "I adore how excited you are but you've asked me that four times in the last two hours and my answer is always the same. I'm fine, I'm not even that pregnant yet. It's nine in the morning, ungodly hours" she whispered groggily giving him a tender smile. "I wasn't asking you odango, I was asking the baby. Normal people wake up at this time" Mamoru teased continuing his kisses along the bare skin.
Usagi was in and out of sleep, pregnancy took a toll on her body even in the early stages. She was a wreck when she was heavily pregnant with Chibi Mamo. Usagi wasn't looking forward to experiencing that again but the eager and loving look in Mamoru's eyes as he stared at her belly had her willing to go through anything this new addition was going to bring.
The family now sat gathered around the tree as they opened presents, Usagi guiding Chibi Mamo's hands to tear at the wrapping paper of his presents. The infant enjoying every second of added affection he was receiving, and he'd let out a laugh of delight at each tear of the wrapping paper. Though Mamoru was ecstatic about their second child, Usagi couldn't escape the small voice in her head telling her that she had ruined everything. She couldn't escape the dread she felt for tonight, her father's reaction to the news of her pregnancy deciding not to tell him till much later.
Mamoru cleared his throat making her shift her focus from her conflicted thoughts over to him. He handed a small wrapped present over to her, Usagi gave him a raised brow helping Chibi Mamo open the box. A key was placed inside a gift box, "What is this?" Usagi asked with a confused expression. "Part two of this present requires a drive" Mamoru said watching Usagi's face now even more confused than before.
Chibi Mamo was strapped in his carseat, Usagi sat in the passenger side with a blind fold covering her eyes "I already sent a text to Rei telling her if they find my body it was you. You're trying to kill me to get out of seeing papa today aren't you?" Usagi joked as she resisted the urge to tear off her blindfold.
"We're here" Mamoru said as he helped her out of the parked car. He held Chibi Mamo's carrier in one hand and led Usagi with the other, "Okay, you can take it off" He directed hints of excitement in his voice. A quick nod was given as her delicate hands reached to pull the blindfold.
"Mamo-chan why are we in front of somebody's house?" Usagi furrowed her brows turning around to look at Mamoru who stood behind her holding the same key in his hand, "It's not just anybody's house Usa" he hummed giving her his signature smug smirk. "Baka...did you break into someone's house?" Usagi whisper yelled her eyes widening a bit. "What?" Mamoru laughed not believing she wasn't catching on, "Usako why would I break into our own house?" he teased giving her a knowing look. "Our house?" Usagi asked finally catching on, "Our house" Mamoru repeated with a nod his smirk only growing. Usagi was a bit disappointed she didn't get to choose their first home together but the idea of finally being able to call one house theirs was enough to wash away any feeling other than joy.
Usagi stood in disbelief meanwhile Mamo was letting out frustrated babbles. "He hates being in the carrier" Usagi whispered pulling the baby out of it and into her arms carefully, Mamoru couldn't hide the frown that grew on his face. He still had so much to learn about his son, it was shameful he didn't know him like the back of his hand. "It's amazing Mamo-chan" Usagi said moving to stand beside him resting her head on his shoulder as the three looked at their new home.
There was only time for a quick tour, Mamoru going through every idea he had for each room enthusiastically. Usagi felt her heart melt at the sight of the tall figure gesturing to all his plans for their home. They had to hurry off to prepare for the big night ahead. It was a beautiful house, and definitely a surprise for Usagi but it was only the start of the surprises the couple would recieve that day.
"No, Chiba Mamoru no, I love you and you look handsome in anything but you cannot wear that!" Usagi held back giggles as she spoke, there stood her eighteen year old boyfriend again this time in the body of the twenty-three year old man. "It still fits!" Mamoru said happily with a goofy smile as he did a twirl for her motioning his hands towards his lavender pleated pants. Usagi clutched the green blazer in her hands shaking her head as she refused to hand it over to him, Chibi Mamo laid in his swing the bunny insisting on being the one to dress him especially after Mamoru's current outfit choice.
Little Mamoru Chiba wore a red and white striped onesie with a small cartoon Santa on the chest a gift from Ikuko, on his head was a Santa hat with hints of the midnight black hair peeking through.
"But Usako green is a Christmas color" Mamoru argued still wearing the dorky smile, "And purple is what?" Usagi asked backing away from the man who was approaching her trying to snatch his jacket from her grasp. "You know the color purple actually stands for peace, so in a way doesn't Christmas also stand for peace on earth?" Mamoru made this up from the top of his head.
Usagi couldn't even get words out at the complete bullshit spewing out of his mouth, she gave up handing him the jacket and turning away to conceal her own goofy grin as she still bit back giggles. "You're so lucky I love you baka" she said slipping on her own clothing "I know he replied quickly, a blush appearing on her cheeks.
The woman was wearing a simple red knit sweater dress, she stared at her black knee highs for a bit before putting them on. In her mind she could only picture Sailor Moon's boots, did it make her a bad mother to miss it? Knowing those days are gone and that she'd never get to don the red boots ever again sent a lump in her throat.
Would she end up resenting Mamoru?
That was a question she quickly dismissed as she watched Mamoru hold their child, seeing the toothless smile that took over Chibi Mamo's face when he was in the arms of his father was enough to forget her thoughts of Sailor Moon completely. Usagi didn't want to miss moments like this.
Mamoru's POV
To say he was terrified would be an understatement, he was anxious as they stood in front of Usagi's family home. "Make sure my funeral is quick" Mamoru muttered to Usagi, expecting Kenji to bury his body in a shallow ditch for what he did to his little girl. He didn't blame him, as a father he'd do the same. "You're not allowed to die now Mamoru, I'm not raising two kids alone. Nice try baka" Usagi told him with narrowed eyes.
"You have nothing to be scared of Mamo-chan, they love you" she reminded but he gave her an incredulous look. "I love you" she comforted giving him a quick kiss knowing he'd fidget at the PDA. Usagi opened the door, she had Mamoru hold Chibi Mamo so her father wouldn't try to tackle him right away.
"SURPRISE!" In the home stood Usagi's family, and the couples closest friends. Mamoru looked at Usagi who was giving him an excited smile, "What is this?" Mamoru asked giving a quick glance to Kenji who wasn't immediately trying to shoot him.
"You missed the Christmas party yesterday so we cancelled and moved it to today" Usagi explained leading the two boys inside, "It wouldn't be the perfect Christmas without you" she whispered.
"Can we eat now?" Usagi said turned her attention to her family with a pout earning a laugh from the group.
"Why do you still have that ugly jacket? It should be burning in fashion hell where it belongs" Minako questioned as Mamoru sat on the couch watching Chibi Mamo who was squealing at all the attention he was receiving from everyone at the party. The baby was being moved from person to person.
"Merry Christmas to you too Minako. Maybe your ugly bow and my ugly jacket can carpool there together, save on cab fare" Mamoru quipped turning to the blonde, "Why do you guys hate each other so much? It's like watching your old fights with Usagi all over again" Motoki asked standing by Reika.
"On the contrary, I really enjoy our little chats Mamoru" Minako was dripping with sarcasm as she glared at Mamoru, "and that hideous eye sore you call a jacket"
"Ditto, how have your exams at school been? Oh wait, I meant how have your make up exams been" Mamoru asked the bickering duo being interrupted by Kenji who approached them. "Looks like you're going back home soon Chiba" Minako said gesturing devil horns on Mamoru's head, "Let me know if hell is hot"
"It's nice to see you son, I'm hoping we can talk later. In private" Kenji was surprisingly calm as he shook the other man's hand. Mamoru could only stare back with a shocked expression nodding his head dumbly. He called him Son. "Of course Tsukino-san" he replied cautiously still worried he was going to attack at any moment. "Call me Papa" Kenji said with a simple grin as he turned to walk back to his wife who was in the kitchen with Usagi prepping dinner.
"I was really hoping for a fist fight"
"Shut up Minako"
Narrator's POV
Usagi had to almost wrestle her mother to hold her baby, the bunny had easily devoured her dinner sneaking mashed potatoes to Mamo when no one was looking. She couldn't say no to the whimpers and reaches he was doing towards the potatoes sneaking him only tiny amounts. Usagi was a pushover when it came to those puppy dog eyes and tiny hands. Mamoru would scold her if he found out about the sneaky exchange.
When it came time to open presents Shingo had to hold Chibi Mamo back from trying to tear at everyone's wrapping paper, "look what you taught him" Mamoru sighed earning a look from Usagi that shut him up immediately.
Usagi watched nervously as her father pulled Mamoru aside after the presents had all been unwrapped. "I hope you have a backup boyfriend, I can set you up with a few" Minako whispered jokingly trying to ease Usagi's stress, Makoto sending Minako a punch to the arm.
"We can finally bury that jacket along with him Usagi-chan"
"Shut up Minako!"
"I've taken a lot of time to think about this son, I was livid at first. Especially when my pregnant daughter came home crying every night" Kenji started, a wince given from Mamoru at the last part of his sentence. "But then she came home the day you returned and she seemed so happy to see you. Even my grandson seemed happy though he had no idea, today I see you with him and I see his eyes when he looks at you. It reminds me of my little Usagi as a baby, she'd give me the same look" he said.
"You treat her right this time Mamoru and you treat my mago right. I won't be so forgiving if you hurt them again" Kenji warned pulling the man into a quick hug. "Of course Otou-san, I love them more than anything I'd never do anything to hurt them" Mamoru managed to get out as Kenji was practically suffocating him... on purpose?
"Ready to go?" Usagi pulled Mamoru out the death grip after a few minutes, "Mamo is passed out cold" she pointed to the carrier where Chibi Mamo was asleep his stomach full after eating so much baby cereal, mashed potatoes, and milk. Their baby slept like Usagi did, limbs spread everywhere Mamoru having to avoid being smacked by a sleeping bunny every night.
"I have one more surprise for you when we get back" Mamoru said as they began to leave the party, "Oh no, I think I've had enough surprises for the rest of the year Mamo-chan" the woman laughed giving a pat to her stomach.
"You know how much I love you Usako, I love you more than life itself" he began as they sat in the living room of her apartment. She gave him a questioning look, "I know" Usagi said slowly. Mamoru hurried over to bring her a small present under their tree.
A rose red velvet jewelry box underneath wrapping paper. "Mamoru" Usagi whispered shakily as she unwrapped the present more, "Mamoru is this what I think" she stopped speaking as she looked up to see the man on one knee.
"I don't want you to think this is because of you being pregnant" He said opening the box to reveal a pink diamond in the shape of a heart, "I've had this ring for five years, this ring has been yours for five years I just never had the guts to give it to you. Tonight I asked Kenji-san for his blessing" he said. Usagi could feel his nervousness, she could also feel the way her eyes began to water.
"Tsukino Usagi, Sailor Moon, and Serenity, I have loved you for two lifetimes but it's not enough I want to love you for many more if you let me. Although I don't deserve someone as loving and caring as you I'm asking if you'll do me the honor of being my wife. Usako, will you marry me?" Mamoru asked, their sleeping infant held close to Usagi's chest.
"This is awkward" Usagi cleared her throat, Mamoru felt his heart sink into his stomach.
Suddenly her lips pulled up in a bright smile giving him an eager nod, "Yes" Usagi said seeing his confused but relieved expression she began to explain.
"I meant this is awkward because..." her hand reached to pull something out of her coat pocket handing opening a black velvet box. "I was going to ask you too" Usagi gave him a sheepish grin and Mamoru started to blush, this was in fact very awkward. "You were going to ask me to marry you?" He asked as looking at her as if she grew a second head. "Well not really, I was going to ask you to hurry up and ask me" she said with a shrug.
Mamoru let out a hearty laugh at her statement, he held the open box seeing a silver wedding band a rose and a crescent moon engraved on the inside. "You're such an odango, Odango" he said slipping her engagement ring on her slender ring finger, Usagi grinning with teary eyes as she slipped his own onto his. "I love you Mamoru-baka" Usagi rolled her eyes before she stared down at her ring. "Hey, now you're going to be Mrs. Baka" Mamoru argued.
"Nothing could make me happier than being Mrs. Odango-baka"
