The next three days, the campers spend their time building up their shelter, training the Indoraptors and Tornado, and healing up. After the incident at the lab, Darius officially grounded Yasmina, much to her disappointment. She was sure that Darius was trying to punish her for something because he delegated Kenji to sit with her. The two were still healing up, and had to sit off to the side and keep watch.

Kenji was a bit disappointed, but he tried to make the best of it and entertain everyone. On the third day, the other four had worked hard on the shelter and completed most of what they wanted to. Darius and Brooklynn were taking care of the babies. Brooklynn would ask Darius what they should do, and he would give a suggestion. Then Brooklynn would disagree with his idea and come up with her own. After the third time, Darius gives Kenji a confused look. "If she didn't want my idea, why did she ask?" his look sends. Kenji just laughs.

Sammy was removing Ben's stitches. He was finally healed up from his encounter on the monorail and had received nasty scars. "Now I can finally be a bada**," he says. His eyebrows shoot up as he processes what he just said. "I've hung around Kenji too much," he thinks to himself, horrified.

"Language!" Sammy hisses, getting really irritated by the fowl language her friends were using.

"Like you haven't heard worse from your Mantah Corp friends," Ben shrugs.

Sammy quiets down.

"What's the line between being tough and being too harsh?" Ben bites his lip. "Yasmina would say that, right? I'm not pushing it too far, am I?"

Meanwhile, Kenji folds his arms behind his head and leans against a tree. He looks over at Yasmina, who slowly turns her head to glare at him. Her arms were crossed and her back slumped; she was still sulking. "Wanna do something fun?" Kenji asks.

"Train," Yasmina grumbles.

"You think training is fun?" Kenji gives her a weird look.

"It's more fun than sitting still and doing absolutely nothing," Yasmina shrugs.

"Do you have absolutely no down time?" Kenji asks with shock.

"I have downtime," Yasmina nods. She startles as a tiny, white dino jumps on her thigh. Her little Indoraptor chirps loudly, demanding to be petted. Yasmina obliges while continuing her conversation with Kenji. "Drawing while waiting at meets."

"What's so much fun about being busy all the time?" Kenji asks. "There's no downtime to think about things. No time to just chill. And personally, I don't think you're doing anything fun. Training all day long sounds like torture to me."

"I train because I'm a professional athlete," Yasmina rolls her eyes, scratching Rima's chin. The hybrid purrs and closes her eyes. Her tongue lolls out as she pants. "I can't just sit on my butt and do nothing. Being lazy doesn't get me anywhere."

"There's a difference between being lazy and taking time to rest," Kenji says. "Oh, hello!" he exclaims as his black Indoraptor pops around the tree. The little one bops her head and jumps on Kenji's arm. "Ah! No," Kenji says sternly as she gnaws on his fingers. He takes out a stick and waves it in front of her face. She bites down and starts chewing on it. "And I'm curious," he adds. "What made you want to be a professional athlete? It sounds like you would absolutely hate it. You hate cameras. You hate people. You hate crowds and social events. And yet, you've competed in the Junior Olympics and are famous."

"I love running," Yasmina sighs. "Once I get out there, I forget everyone else. And the rush of adrenaline of a race gets me so excited. I hate the fans, and I hate the cameras, but… I forget it all in the heat of the race."

"I get the adrenaline rush," Kenji nods. "It's the thrill you get after a hard workout. Sometimes it just feels good to push yourself that way. But dang, to just go on and on without rest… That's hardcore."

The corners of the girl's mouth lift slightly for the first time in a while. "Hardcore is pushing through it even when it hurts. Pushing through the pain until the finish line."

"I get that your style is to push through the pain and make it, but that's not helping in this situation," Kenji says, a bit worried for his friend. "This isn't a race where you can get to the finish line and medics will help you. This is life or death out here, and we don't know when we'll get off this island. The more you push your body, the further you push the finish line. Hardcore won't help you here. At least, not in this situation."

"I know," Yasmina sighs frustratedly. "Imagine if… if… what's your hobby? Your passion?"

Kenji leans back. "That's a good question." He sits there stroking Toothless, thinking. "I don't really have a hobby," he says. "But I do like making people happy."

"The narcissist likes making people happy?" Yasmina guffaws. Rima chitters, copying her mother.

"I like to inspire and wow people," Kenji says, slightly offended that she was laughing. "I like to see people look up to me and like me. And I… I like lifting up others. I never realized it until I was on the island, but I like helping others and inspiring joy. It… It feels so wonderful when Darius looks up to me, or I make Sammy laugh. I like making others happy."

"Try to imagine if you couldn't make people happy," Yasmina prompts.

"Easy," Kenji says. "That's how I feel right now."

"Oh…" Yasmina murmurs, looking at her crossed arms. The white Indo tilts her head, grunting. She tries to climb up into Yasmina's arms. The athlete scoops up her dino baby, tickling her belly.

"I know that you wanna be able to run, but you can't right now," Kenji says. "There's a lotta things we want to do, but we have to sacrifice things. Think of it like this: the more you rest, the sooner you can run."

"Okay," Yasmina sputters like a pouting three year old. After some silence, she asks: "What were you thinking of that was fun?"

"Ooh!" Kenji's face lights up, remembering his brilliant idea. Toothless jumps in surprise. "Speaking of being a narc and making people happy."

"How do those two go together?" Yasmina asks in confusion as he gathers twigs and sticks together.

"You'll see," he snickers. He begins to build a crown out of the branches. He has to wrestle a couple sticks from the little hybrid. The alpha male leaves two, long branches sticking up in front of his face like antlers. "Ta-da!" he exclaims. "What d'ya think?"

Yasmina stares at him, not sure what to say. Rima tilts her head and snorts, copying Yasmina.

Kenji scoops up Toothless, places her inside his crown, walks out from behind the tree, and opens his arms majestically. "I hereby decree, as your King Kenji, that ye shalt kneel before thy King whenever I pass!"

The group watches him with confusion. Sammy dramatically thumps her fist to her chest and kneels in front of Kenji. "Ye are a good, loyal subject," Kenji says, ruffling her hair. She laughs.

"Kneel before your king!" Kenji orders, raising his arms dramatically.

"You look like Loki," Brooklynn sneers.

"I said: KNEEL!" Kenji shouts dramatically. He breaks his serious composure and starts laughing. The group laughs with him.

"You know, the last time I saw a man standing above everyone else, we ended up disagreeing," Darius laughs.

The alpha male heads back to his post next to Yasmina and sets his crown on the grass. The little ebony Indo curls up inside his stick crown like it was a nest. "How was that?" Kenji grins.
Yasmina purses her lips, trying to stay serious before snorting. "Who's your favorite Marvel character?"

Kenji grins, thrilled that he was finally able to engage in a lighthearted conversation with her. "Either Iron Man or Loki. They're like my spirit animals."

"I can see that," Yasmina laughs.

"You?" Kenji asks.

Yasmina bites her lip. "I think I relate most to Black Widow. Captain America's a good character, too. Ooh! No, my favorite character is Bucky, the Winter Soldier. He's… he's kinda my second fictional character crush."

"Who's your first?" Kenji grins.

"Peeta Mellark from the Hunger Games," Yasmina chuckles sheepishly.

Kenji snorts, sounding like he spit out water. "Those two are so different! How did you have a crush on both of them?!"
"I don't know," Yasmina shrugs. "Peeta is such a sweet guy, and the Winter Soldier just tugs on my feelings with his tragic backstory. Who's your fictional character crush?"

"Black Widow; she's pretty hot," Kenji nods. Toothless bops her head, copying her father. "Especially with her super badbutt guns. Or Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter. I just like that girls weirdness. She was funny."

Yasmina wheezes. "You have no room to talk about me, then."

"Heh heh, fine," Kenji snorts.

The next day, the group wakes up in their newly built shelter. "Time for another glorious day," Kenji declares, stretching. "Because I'm awake."

"Wow, never seen you awake," Brooklynn smirks. "What's that look like?"

"Ha, ha, hilarious," Kenji says, good naturedly tussling her hair. She smacks his hand away.

Darius sits up and nudges the railing of the shelter next to him. "Need to stabilize this one," he makes a mental note. "Okay, gang, team meeting."

The five others turn their heads to look at him, ready to hear whatever he had to say.

"First off, we're changing how we react to dinosaurs," Darius states. "We're no longer on offense, we're on defense. Our little stunt with Rexy back there; not smart. We're not doing that again. If we face off against a dino, it's because flight did not work, and we're fighting just to evade it. We're not fighting to kill the dinosaurs, we're fighting to save ourselves. Okay?"

The group nods, understanding.

"Second, we need to officiate our positions in the team, since there's been mix ups over who's job is what," Darius says. "I'm the leader. Is everyone okay with that?"

The group nods again.

"So, you understand that when we're deciding important decisions, I have the final say?" Darius raises his eyebrows. "Because we can't do what we did back at the condos. This isn't a dictatorship; I still want your opinions. You guys can give your thoughts and ideas and anything you've noticed. But in the end, do you trust that I'm listening to you and weighing our decisions?"

"Yes," Kenji nods.

"We'll submit to your authority," Sammy says.

"So official," Brooklynn giggles at Sammy's wording. "But, yeah, we'll try to listen more and order you around less."

"Sorry about that," Ben apologizes.

"I'll try not to overrule you," Yasmina murmurs.

"Okay," Darius nods. "So I'm the leader and lead the team. Got it. Like I said, I'm not a dictator, and I can't do everything around here. All of you have something very important to contribute, and are meaningful and valuable to the team. So Sammy? You're our official cook and medic."

Sammy giggles.

"If you're injured, talk to her," Darius says. "She's in charge of tending to injuries, and what she says goes. Yaz, I'm looking at you."

"You say that like I have a problem listening to medical advice," Yasmina smirks.

"I'm serious," Darius says, pointing a finger at the athlete. "If Sammy says you can't walk, you can't walk. End of story. Got it?!"
"Okay," Yasmina sighs. "Geez."

"Okay," Darius chuckles. "You're also in charge of the rifles, because you've had the most experience using them.

"Ben is our tank master. You're in charge of Bumpy and our counter attacks against dinosaurs. If we're attacked by any large predator, your first job is to get to Bumpy and counter the attack unless directly told otherwise. Do you understand? Your first priority is to get to Bumpy and ride her into battle. Can you handle that?"
"Of course," Ben nods firmly.

"Brooklynn? You're our technology expert," Darius says. "Walkie talkies, and any other devices are under your charge. When we're heading out or going anywhere, it's your job to make sure we have a way of communicating with each other. We've had issues with this before where not all of us have a walkie talkie. It's your job to make sure we're staying in touch, okay?"

Brooklynn nods.

"You're also our walking Google," Darius snickers. "So you're the keeper of the survival guides and books. If you have any questions about survival in the jungles and whatnot, go to her. If she doesn't know, eh, just ask everyone."

The group chuckles. "Yaz? Kenji? You're not officially assigned anything yet. You two both seem to act like my second in command, but I know that if I have you guys share the role, it won't go well."

The two look at each other and nod with a chuckle.

"I'm still trying to decide who will be next in command," Darius says. "So for right now, neither of you have a job. But Yaz? Your first priority is rest. No running around, no walking, no stupid Mosasaurus stunts, okay?"

"I get it," Yasmina grumbles.

"We've had issues in this area repeatedly," Darius states. "I know you're very unhappy about this, but as our injured comrade, you're at the bottom of the command chain. You listen to Sammy when she tells you what to do. If we're under attack, your go-to guardian is Kenji. If he can't get to you, go to me, Sammy, or Brooklynn. Ben's first priority is Bumpy, but if he's the only one around, he'll take care of you. The point is, you're to follow orders and preserve your leg. We need your athleticism out there on the field, and I want you healed as soon as possible."

Yasmina lets out a silent, angry sigh, but doesn't protest.

"When you're completely healed, your job will be to rescue," Darius says. "You're strong and fast, and you're not afraid to put your life in danger to save the rest of us. I know I can't stop you from doing that, so it might as well be your job. I'm not saying kill yourself, but it will be your job to do the dirty work. If you want that."
Yasmina nods quickly.

"But while you're injured, that's not your job," Darius states. "As long as someone else is around, you're backup. If, say, Brooklynn is in trouble and none of us can get to her, then you can help her. But if someone else is around, that's their job. Got it?"

"Yes," Yasmina snaps. "I get it!"
"Well, we've gone over this for about a month and it doesn't seem to stick," Darius huffs.

The rest of the group chuckles and Yasmina glares at them.

"Kenji, since you're the oldest and the strongest, your job right now is to be Yasmina's guardian," Darius says. "And if someone else gets injured, you might be their guardian as well. That means carrying Yaz away from the danger and protecting her. You seem to naturally want to protect all of us, so that won't be too hard, right?"

"Aye, aye, sir!" Kenji says saluting Darius. "We'll have a lot of time to spend together, my charge." He slings his arm around Yasmina's shoulder, causing her to groan and facepalm.

"Okay, that's all for announcements," Darius claps his hands. "There's nothing we have to do today—other than maybe stabilize the railing—so go do your own thing."

Yasmina scoots away from Kenji. "Yaz, no walking," Darius says as he picks up an empty, plastic water jug. The group laughs at his ability to predict the older girl. She rolls her eyes and busies herself with petting her attention-seeking Indoraptor.

Darius places the jug on his shoulder and slides down the slide. Ben had had the ingenious idea of adding a slide for Yasmina, since climbing down the stairs was difficult. Plus, they were still young and slides were fun. He stumbles a bit on the ground and turns around just in time to catch his little Indoraptor. Each of the little hatchlings had taken to their parents and would follow them everywhere they went. "Woah, you gotta warn me next time!" Darius laughs.

Mocha trills, opening her mouth in a smile. She wags her tail, clearly enjoying the slide.

Sammy slides down and almost knocks Darius over. "They're still so tiny," she coos as she tickles Mocha's chin. "Tornado, on the other hand." The little Triceratops almost knocks her mother over with impeccable timing. The little herbivore's frill was already up to Sammy's hip, and the feisty dino enjoyed headbutting her human from behind. "What?" Sammy asks with a baby voice. "Why you keep headbutting me in the butt, huh? Why you keep hitting me?"

"Wu obviously gave Tornado an accelerated growth cycle," Darius says. "Like Bumpy. But if he wanted to train the Indoraptors, you probably don't want them to grow quickly. You'd want time to imprint on them and train them the way you want them to be trained."

"I don't see how Wu thought he could train these guys to be bloodthirsty guard dogs," Yasmina calls down from the shelter. "He obviously hasn't spent time around these guys. They come out the way they come out. They have their own personalities, and it's not from copying us. I didn't teach Rima to be rebellious and feisty; she came out that way."

The Indo in question jumps onto Yasmina's shoulders and starts chewing on her hair. "She also has a weird obsession with chewing on my hair!" Yasmina laughs. "I did not teach her that. Ow!"

Darius and Sammy chuckle. "Ow!" Sammy says, almost getting knocked over again. "I'm not sure if it's Torni's weird obsession with headbutting me, a normal thing that Triceratops' do, or if she smells blood."

"Blood?" Darius's eyes widen in concern.

"I'm on my period, it's nothing to be concerned about," Sammy laughs. "We'll see what happens with her headbutting obsession in a few days."

"Okay," Darius sighs with relief. "I'm going to refill the jug, and have alone time. With Mocha."

"Aw, you get alone time?" Yasmina rests her head on her fists and winces as Rima tugs on her wispy bang.

"Kenji can help you get to the third floor," Darius suggests.

"There's a third floor?" Yasmina says, her jaw dropping in shock.

"Well, technically it's the roof, but you can hang out there if you want," Darius shrugs.

Yasmina's mouth opens in excitement. "Come on, Rima," she says, disappearing with her Indo.

Sammy chuckles. "We'll never see her again."

Darius heads down to a watering hole. A herd of Stegosaurus' were passing through. Darius refills the jug and sits down by the bank, watching the Indo hatchling explore the water. Many times he has to scoop her up out of the water when her curiosity got the better of her.

As Mocha chases a dragonfly, Darius begins to pray. "Lord, I need wisdom on who to choose as my second in command. I need someone who can lead if we split up or I am injured. And I can't be the only trying to break up fights and bickering. And… I need someone else to help be the emotional support for the group. But I can't choose the wrong person. The problem is, Kenji and Yaz are both really good choices. It's so hard!"
Mocha crouches down, wiggles her haunches, and leaps in the air. She falls on her snout, missing the dragonfly.

Darius chuckles, and continues on with his small rant. "Kenji's the oldest and he knows his way around the park. He is authoritative, and seems to naturally want to take lead, even if he doesn't actually lead the group. He can be sensitive and caring, and he was the one who helped Brooklynn and Sammy bridge their differences. And he's like an older brother to me. But on the other hand, he's a narcissist and everyone gets irritated with him. He's kinda notorious for making stupid decisions. He can be insensitive, too, but that's kinda an extension of his narcissism. He'll slack and give his jobs to other people. That's how I became the leader."

Mocha jumps again and misses the dragonfly again. She stands on her hind legs and gives Darius a frustrated look. "You can do it," he encourages her with a smile. She crouches down again and creeps towards the pesky dragonfly.

"Yaz is very strong and smart," Darius continues, resting his head on his fist. "She's tough, mentally and physically, and isn't a complainer. She won't hesitate to give her life for the rest of us. And I know that I can trust her with my life. On the other hand, she's reckless and rushes in without thinking everything through. And she's very irritable, quick to judge, and quick to anger. And she has trust issues. She's got issues with pretty much everyone in the group. And she's prone to injury due to her recklessness."

Mocha wiggles her tail and pounces on the dragonfly, finally catching it. She gobbles it up and cheeps proudly. Darius claps his hands proudly and she purrs. The Indoraptor begins to roll around in the grass.

"On a completely different subject, we're still not finished with arguments," Darius sputters. "I know that we're never going to fully get along, but can we just have peace?! Brooklynn's the worst when it comes to just trusting my judgement and listening to me. And of all people, Sammy and Ben are arguing! And I'm not even sure what they're fighting over!"

Mocha twitters and rolls over to look at him. "It's hard being a leader when no one's getting along," Darius confesses to her. Mocha sneezes, almost knocking herself over. "That's right," Darius nods with a giggle.

"And that's excluding…" Darius sighs. "No, I don't want to even think about that. I can't be thinking about my Dad now. Then everyone just gets worried about me and starts being reckless. I have to stay strong. Lord, give me the strength to stay strong. And give me the wisdom to deal with my second in command and bickering friends and pesky girls."

Darius sighs as he picks up Mocha and the water jug, places the little Indo on his shoulder, and heads back to Camp. The hatchling sings to Darius as she perches on his shoulder like a parrot on a pirate. As he arrives, he hears dino caterwauling. "I know, I know, you're so deprived," Kenji says, standing with his hands on his hips. "You've gone without water for five minutes, you poor thing."
Toothless rolled around on the ground, wailing her head off. "I know, you're so dehydrated," Kenji rolls his eyes.

"What's up?" Darius asks.

"My little drama queen is thirsty," Kenji sighs. "Never mind that Sammy offered you water and you turned it down. No, you just have to have water from that jug." He points at Darius's water jug.

Toothless stops wailing and looks up at Darius expectantly. He pours a bit of water out and the little Indo guzzles the small stream. After drinking, she and Mocha scamper happily off to join Indigo and Princess. "The little brat," Kenji shakes his head, amused.

"You think you gotta brat?" Brooklynn says, coming up to the two boys. "Indigo is the biggest, self-entitled brat you've ever seen."

"She's just imprinting on you," Kenji snarkily comments, earning a twig to be thrown at his head. "You okay, buddy?"
Darius hands the water jug to Ben. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"You just seem quiet," Kenji shrugs.

"I'm thinking about who to place as my second in command," Darius sighs. "Among other things," he thinks.

"Well, if it helps, I won't take it personal if you choose Yaz," Kenji says. "In fact… she's probably the better choice… I had my chance as leader and I blew it off to you. That's probably not what you want in a leader. So… I mean, I'd do my best if you chose me, but… I want the best for the team, and that's probably not me."

Darius nods. "That's… That's very—"

"Toothless!" Kenji interrupts him, running off in the direction of his Indo.

"Indigo!" Brooklynn exclaims, following Kenji. Their Indo's were caught in a little dispute.

"Let 'em fight!" Sammy says, shooing away the two. "They're not trying to hurt each other. They're like puppies; they need to wrestle and learn their own strength."

Darius watches, in awe of Kenji's recent statement. "Kenji has become a lot more mature over the past few weeks. He's really started to become aware of his narcissistic tendencies and is trying to become others-centered. Maybe we've all underestimated him."

Darius watches as Kenji tries to get Yaz to sit down. She wasn't placing her weight on her injured leg, but she was standing. "They complete each other with their abilities. Kenji is able to order people around and take charge, while he struggles a bit with doing the work himself. Yaz is great at sacrificing herself for the team and working hard, but she struggles with giving other people jobs and trusting others. If they could just learn from each other…"

"Sit down!" Kenji sighs frustratedly.

"I'm not putting weight on my foot!" Yasmina hisses.

Kenji pulls out a couch cushion from the wreckage and puts it in front of her. "Sit!"

"No!" Yasmina huffs.

"Kenji's becoming more mature and others-focused," Darius thinks. "He's already learning from his mistakes. But Yaz is too stubborn to get over her trust issues yet."

Kenji gently kicks Yasmina in the rear, knocking her onto the cushion with protest.

"Kenji needs to kickstart Yaz's internal growth," the idea dawns on Darius. He chuckles. "I'll let them decide who should be the second in command. Give them the chance to prove themselves to me and fight it out. If I choose Kenji, Yaz will never accept his leadership. But if I pick Yaz, she'll never trust any of the others. She needs to learn to trust everyone else before leading them. And maybe if I let them fight it out, they'll come to an agreement and hopefully bond a bit."

Sammy and Ben start to passive aggressively argue over how to train the Indoraptors. "Maybe the same thing can work on those two," Darius wonders to himself. "Maybe letting them fight it out and solve their problems together will work better than me meditating between them. They're bound to explode soon; we'll figure out what they're fighting over very soon if I'm right. If the cards are played right, we just might solve these two issues. Thank you, God, for this ingenious idea!"

With a sly smile, Darius rejoins the group.

"What's good, Brooklanders?" Brooklynn grins, looking into her camera. Between the Indoraptor hatchlings and building the shelter, she hadn't had time to do any recording. "It's been…" she counts on her fingers. "25 days since the I-rex disaster. Oh… Tomorrow's January 1st! It's the new year! Happy New Year, guys! It'll be 2016!"

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Kenji exclaims, startling Toothless. The little hatchling starts bobbing her head and squeaking. She had no idea what he was happy about, but if her Daddy was happy, she was happy.

"Yay!" Sammy cheers, giving Tornado a back scratch.

"Dang it, we're spending the new year on Isla Nublar," Ben shakes his head. His little Indo tilts her head up at him, wondering why he was so annoyed.

"Wow, it's almost been a full month of being on Jurassic World," Darius sighs.

Yasmina counts on her fingers. "Oh, yeah, it is the New Year tomorrow. Wow."

"Indigo," Brooklynn says, picking up her little Indoraptor. "What do you think is going to happen in the New Year?"

The little grey and blue hybrid yawns and nibbles of Brooklynn's nose. The girl yelps and pulls her head back. "Ha, ha, you just want dinner, don't you."

"Would she just stop videoing everything?" Yasmina hisses to Darius.

"Oh, stop being annoyed by everything," Darius rolls his eyes and gets up. Sammy begins to prepare dinner as Bumpy grumbles down underneath the shelter. She was still jealous of her Indo sibling. Brooklynn gives her nonexistent viewers a grand tour of the shelter while Indigo curls up on her shoulder. Yasmina pulls Ben in front of her to hide herself from Brooklynn's camera. The pinkette just rolls her eyes.

"And that's everything!" Brooklynn exclaims, coming back into their enclosed sleeping room. Sammy was preparing meat for the Indoraptors. Darius, Ben, and Sammy had headed back to the lab and found canned food the scientists used for carnivores. It was better than trying to hunt down live dinosaurs for the babies.

"Welcome, to Camp Kenji," the alpha says as he leans into view, giving the camera a finger gun. He had a pair of posh sunglasses on, the ones that drived Yasmina nuts.

Brooklynn lowers her camera and frowns at him, annoyed. "That's not the name."

He whines. "Why can't it be?"

"That's a stupid name," Brooklynn sneers.

"Okay, how about Camp Darius?" Kenji suggests.

"That's better," the Internet star grins, and heads out onto the deck.

"Okay, Miss Shelby, can you read this?" the director asks, holding up a script.

The little six year old nods.

"Are you sure she should be reading from a script, Mr. Salter?" Roxie asks. "Would it be better if she just let out what was on her heart?"

"That's messy business, my friend," the director laughs. "Okay, whenever you're ready Shelby."

The little girl takes her time to read the script. Her silky black hair falls in her face and conceals the small tear she sheds. As the youngest of all the families, she knew the least about her sister's condition. But the script revealed more to her than she had been told.

Shelby lifts her head and begins to speak. "My name is Shelby Guiterrez. I'm six years old and… I live in Texas. I live on a cattle ranch with my Momma and Pappa, my Abuela, and my five older sisters…"

She pauses, looking down at the script.

"What will the viewers think if she's readin' off a script?" Mrs. Guiterrez whispers to the director.

"We'll cut out those parts," Mr. Salter whispers back.

"On December third, one of my older sisters, Sammy, went to Jurassic World," Shelby continues, her usually happy face falling. Suddenly, the little, peppy six year old looked much older. "She was one of the six kids that got to try out Camp Cretaceous first. It was fun watching her through Brooklynnunboxestheworld."

"That's not in the script," Mr. Salter hisses.

"Oh, shush," Roxie waves him off. "Let her speak."

Shelby pauses again as her chest constricts. "On December sixth, a big scary dino called the Indominus Rex escaped its cage and attacked people. Sammy… Sammy didn't come back on the ferry… She was… thought to have died in one of the attacks… She got on the monorails, but the monorails never made it to the docks…"

Shelby pauses sadly. "Christmas night, we gotta call from a talkie thingy. Walkie talkie. It was Sammy and the other kids. They survived the dinos and are still on the island. But… But they can't stay alive forever. They need help. We have to get them off the island."

Shelby looks directly at the camera, a small tear falling down her cheek. She was a spitting image of Sammy. "My sister needs help, but we can't go to the island. There's a law sayin' we can't go back to that place. We need help liftin' it so that Sammy and Yazzy and the others can come home."

While Shelby talks, Roxie steps aside to call the campers. It had been almost a week since the last time they talked, and she was worried. "Hello? Campers, are you still there?"

Darius finishes his small lettuce and tomato sandwich. Since the group had yet to figure out a way to cook meat and other such food, they had been having a lot of bread and vegetables.

The emergency device crackles, startling Darius. "Hello? Campers, are you still there?" Roxie's voice says through the static.

Darius picks it up and talks. "Yea, we're all alive."

"Oh, thank goodness," Roxie says from her end. "Are you all alright?"

"Uhh, we've received some new injuries," Darius grimaces. "Whiplash, sliced ankle, bullet wounds."

"What?!" Roxie exclaims, worried.

"Long story," Darius sighs. "We're all fined. Although some of us have a problem staying off their injured leg."

"I haven't put weight on it!" Yasmina exclaims from the deck.

"That sounds bad, though," Roxie says. "Bullet wounds?"

Darius sighs and launches into a quick explanation of their wounds.

Out on the deck, Brooklynn was still filming herself. "Isn't this place awesome? Not a bad place to hole up in until help arrives!"
"Oh my frickin' gosh, would you stop videoing your every move for five seconds?!" Yasmina snaps, smacking the camera out of Brooklynn's hand.

Kenji whistles and leans close to Ben. "This is the girl fight I've been waiting for!"

"Yasmina will cream Brooklynn," Ben bets, crossing his arms as he waits for the action to unfold.

"Prepare yourself for high-pitched screams," Kenji snickers. "I've seen a lot of girl fights at my school."

Brooklynn calmly looks down at her camera, then back up at Yasmina. "I like your cut, G!" she exclaims, smacking the older girl across the face. The two boys' eyes widen.

Yasmina touches her cheek and growls. "Oh, ho, ho, it is soo on!" The athlete tackles the pinkette to the floor boards. Indigo jumps off of Brooklynn's shoulder as the girls roll around, kicking and hitting each other.

Darius hears high-pitched screams and yelps, as well as whoops from Kenji.

"What on Earth is goin' on out there?" Sammy asks, confused. Darius drops the device and finds Yasmina pinning Brooklynn down on her stomach. She had the younger girl in a rear naked choke hold, and the pinkette was hollering.

"Pull her hair, Brook!" Kenji encourages, whooping.

"Wha?! Yasmina! Stop it this instance!" Darius orders.

Brooklynn grabs Yasmina's ponytail. The older girl winces but doesn't let go. "What's that gonna do to me?"

"Yasmina!" Darius shouts.

"I'm not choking her that hard!" Yasmina protests. "She's just a panicker! She won't pass out or anything!"

"Yeah, right!" Brooklynn squeaks. "Darius, help!"

"Oh. My. Gosh," Darius facepalms. From inside their sleeping room, he hears music start to play. Darius turns his head quickly and winces. He finds Mocha messing with the controls of the emergency device. "Mocha!" he exclaims, picking it up. She had tuned into a radio station that was currently playing Never Gonna Give You Up.

Kenji starts wheezing. "Guys! Darius got RickRolled by a dino!"

The group chuckles. Darius shakes his head, about ready to call it quits as leader. But then, who would keep the peace? He tunes the device back to Channel six, where Roxie was having a panic attack. "Darius?! What happened?!"

"Long story short, we adopted some baby dinos from the lab," Darius sighs. "And while I went to deal with fighting—"

"Hey!" Yasmina shouts.

"Fighting between the girls," Darius says. "And one of the dinos decided to mess with the device. Can I talk to you later?"

Roxie chuckles. Dave tugs on her arm and gestures to Shelby. "Oh, could we speak to Sammy, by any chance?" Roxie asks.

"Sure," Darius says, hurrying out of the room. He hands it to Sammy and finds Yasmina holding Brooklynn's arms behind her back uncomfortably. "Yasmina Fadoula! Drop it!"

"It?" Brooklynn pants offendedly.

Yasmina starts laughing and releases the girl.

"Why must you insist on causing trouble with everyone?" Darius groans. "Go up to your third floor!"

Yasmina lets Ben help her up to the third floor without complaint. Kenji snickers. "That's not punishment."

"No, but it's Heaven for us," Darius shakes his head. "You okay?"

He helps Brooklynn up. She winces, holding her neck. "Yaz is such a jerk!"

"What did you do?" Darius asks.

"NOthing!" Brooklynn squeaks. "I was just videoing myself! I wasn't even bothering her!"

"I think she's out peopled," Darius shakes his head again. "It's not an excuse to choke you, but I think she needs some hermit time. Maybe she'll behave better after that."

Meanwhile, Sammy was in the little room. "Howdy, Roxie."

Back in New Jersey, Roxie interrupts the filming. "Shelby, there's someone who wants to talk to you."

The little girl takes the walkie talkie and says: "Hello?"

"Howdy, Shelby," Sammy says through the walkie talkie.

"Sammy!" Shelby exclaims, her eyes widening. She covers her mouth. "You're still alive!"
"Of course," Sammy chuckles. "We're hangin' in there. How was your Christmas? Did you get any good presents?"

Shelby bursts into tears. "It was terrible until we heard you. Your voice was the best Christmas present ever!"

"Aww, it's great to hear you, too," Sammy says.

Shelby sobs. "I want you back, Sam Sam! I want you back here, I want you back here! Don't die there! Don't get eaten, please!"

Sammy covers her mouth as she hears her younger sister cry. "I don't plan on it, Shelby."

"Come back," Shelby sobs. Her sentence is barely audible as she wails. The little girl wraps her arms around Roxie's shoulders and cries into her hair.

Roxie can see the director wiping away a tear out of the corner of her eye. "It's working," she thinks to herself. "There's a way to bring her back, Shelby."

The little girl wipes her eyes. "There is?" she hiccups.

Roxie nods. "We need to lift the ban and send out a search party. But we need support to lift it."

"I'm sure you're all the support I need, Shelby," Sammy giggles encouragingly.

"Okay," Shelby nods, sniffling. "How much help do we need?"

"I'm not sure," Roxie says. "It's hard to say."

"Well, I want everyone who sees me to help us bring Sammy back!" Shelby exclaims. "If you don't help, you're… you're just a meanie!"

The director chuckles and cuts the filming. "That was wonderful, Shelby. Really touching."

"Will it help Sammy get back?" the little girl asks.

"Hopefully," Mr. Salter says.

Shelby grins, wipes her eyes and brings the walkie talkie back to her siblings. The Guiterrez sisters crowd around her and chat with their lost sister.

Ben watches Sammy talk with her family. "You okay, dude?" Kenji asks, sitting next to him.

"I wonder what it's like to have siblings," Ben sighs.

"Mood," Kenji nods.

"You have a step-sister," Ben says, not moving his eyes away from the walkie talkie.

"Yeah," Kenji sighs. "It's… not the same though."

After a lot of loud, high-pitched chattering from the Guiterrez family, Sammy passes it to Brooklynn so that she could talk to her family. As Brooklynn passes it to Ben and Kenji—who's parents and step-sister were at the set—Sammy slides next to Darius. "How's it goin' with the second in command choosin'?"

Darius shakes his head. "Still don't know."

Sammy winces. "I hate to choose sides, and I love both of them… but I feel like Kenji would be the better choice. Don't get me wrong, I like Yaz, but… she's reckless. Kenji used to be extremely reckless and stupid, but he's matured a bit and isn't prone to rash decisions like he used to be."

"Yeahh," Darius sighs. "You've got a point."

"How are you gonna choose?" Sammy asks. "Based on what?"

"I think I'll leave it up to them," Darius winks. Sammy looks horrified. "I'll let them fight it out and try to one up each other. Let them try to prove themselves. That might reveal who's a better leader. Hopefully, it will help them realize their issues and maybe bond. Of course, I'll have the last say, but maybe they'll come to an agreement on their own. I can't force Yaz to follow Kenji's lead, and probably vice versa, so they have to come to terms with it on their own."

"That's a good point," Sammy nods. "Sounds to me like it would lead to chaos, though."

"As Kenji would say, works in the movies," Darius grins. Sammy laughs. "I'll let those two challenge each other over who's second in command, later," Darius thinks to himself. "It'll be too chaotic to have several fights at once. I'll let Sammy and Ben work out at least most of their problem before getting the two older kids fighting. Maybe afterwards, we can work on Brooklynn and Yaz. Hopefully, Kenji and Yaz can help each other mature and Yaz won't get so fed up with Brooklynn."

Darius leans back against a post with a smirk, watching his team and plotting his schemes. He had a game plan, and things were falling into place quickly. He just knew it.
