PURGATORY
Eames didn't understand what was going on with Goren.
He had been suspended for six months, but he was still unreachable.
She had contacted her sister, to find out if he had tried to contact Jamie, but nothing at all!
What was happening ?
When she passed by his house, there was no one there.
He didn't answer her calls.
She didn't know what to do.
And then one day, she went to the local cafe he used to go to, and she ran into him.
But the discussion had been short, telling him there was no time to talk to her.
It hurt him at the time.
She had wanted to tell him about Jamie, but she hadn't had time.
And then, one evening during her investigation, she found the rose pot and it destroyed her.
Why had he done that?
Why hadn't he told her?
She had always been there for him, even in the worst of times, even when he did some serious silly things to support him and there he had done that to her!
Captain Ross sensed unease between the two partners, deciding to leave the room.
Eames didn't want to hear him, didn't want to talk to him.
He had hurt her too much and she wasn't ready to forgive him, not this time!
- Alex, I beg your pardon!
She turned, approaching slowly, her gaze cold.
Goren knew he had made a big mistake.
But he had wanted to protect her.
He didn't want to take her in the risk that she too would be suspended because of him.
She was screaming, but he didn't know what to say, he was trying to find the right words, but she wasn't listening!
- You would be dead if it hadn't been me! She had a lump in her throat, the tears coming to her eyes. But got back. I do not count ! And Jamie no longer!
At her words, she saw Bobby's face tighten in pain.
She had hurt him!
But had he thought of his son? To her ?
No !
As usual, he had thought of everything except the people they could hurt!
She didn't want to hurt him. But he had hurt her too much.
What would she have said to her son, if her father had been killed in an operation and by her! Or by one of his colleagues.
He wasn't thinking about that!
Goren listened to Alex's reproaches. She had made him a good number, but these were the hardest!
He knew he had hurt her, which was not what he wanted.
But he knew she was telling the truth about Jamie.
He hadn't thought of the consequences!
Now she understood why he had avoided her so much in the last days. At the same time avoiding their sons.
- You won ! You will get your plate back. She said this with contempt, but her voice broke. But have you thought about the harm you've done? To Jamie? To me ?
She turned her back to him, leaving the room, watching a Goren who didn't say a word.
Alex contacted Annie.
- We can't take Jamie! Alex's voice braised over the phone. She didn't want her son to see the state she was in. Besides, she knew she would burst into tears in front of him. And she didn't want to worry her little one. I have to sort out some things! But I will explain!
Annie sensed in her sister's voice that something was wrong.
- Very well ! But if you need to talk, don't hesitate!
Alex was really grateful to her sister for not insisting on what was going on.
She always gave him the choice to come and tell her what was wrong or if she preferred to keep it to herself.
- Kiss Jamie hard for me!
Alex hung up, putting his phone back in his pocket.
Goren was there at the door of his apartment.
- I do not want to see you ! Go away !
Alex had just shouted his words, slamming the door in Goren's face.
But this one stopped the door, entering by force.
The door closed.
Alex turned, flushed with anger, chin lifted.
- I told you to go!
She was screaming louder and louder.
Bobby approached her, taking her hands.
But she withdrew her hands.
He wanted to take her in his arms, but she rebelled, drumming his chest.
- No ! She had tears in her eyes. She wiped them off with the back of her palms. Go away !
Goren didn't move as forbidden.
He had never seen Alex in such a fury.
He wanted to explain, but she didn't give him time to say a word.
And what could he have said?
He had hurt her deeply.
And she wasn't ready to forgive him.
So he made up his mind to leave.
He turned, looking at her one last time.
- I'm very sorry, Alex!
Those were the last words he said, before the door closed on him.
She grabbed her phone, throwing it violently against the door.
She collapsed to the ground, cradled her legs against her, bursting into tears.
She resented him.
She was angry with him.
She didn't know if it would happen
