Tanjiro's pov

"Caw Caw Upper demon moon ahead! upper demon moon ahead!" Said Matsuemon Tennouji (Tanjiro's crow). "HAHA! PERFECT! IF I KILL THIS UPPER MOON I"LL BE THE STRONGEST SLAYER OF THEM ALL!" Roared a very hyperactive Inosuke. Zenitsu just clung onto Tanjiro screaming.

"AAAAAHHH Were gonna DIE!". Tanjiro tried to pry him off but was very...Unsuccessful.

"let go Zenitsu! You can stay out here if you want." Tanjiro said after finally getting Zenitsu off him.

"wait! WHAT!? YOUR'E GOING TO LEAVE ME OUT HERE ALL ALONE! AAAAAAAAAAAAH!". Tanjiro and Inosuke simply ignored him.

"Wanna race Inosuke, see who can kill the demon first?" Tanjiro said to inosuke.

Inosuke perked up at the mention of a contest. "YOUR'E ON GONPANCHIRO!"

The two rushed off towards the building, leaving Zenitsu alone

"Wait NOO don't leave me!" Zenitsu said as he rushed towards them.

*Inside the building*

"The smell is getting stronger, Inosuke I'll need you to back me up from behind just in case there are other demons, Zentisu you can...uh...wait out here."

They all nodded and waited for Tanjiro to open the door.

"on three" he moved his hands to the door and began to slide it open.

"3,2,1"

He slides the door all the way open to reveal the demon, who seemed to be sitting on his knees. Chains wrapped around his arms and legs. The rooms were filled with bridges and cliffs as if the building wasn't even part of the building.

"I see you've come Tanjiro...You've come to free me...". Zenitsu shook so violently, Inosuke could feel the vibration from 20 feet away.

"T-Tanjiro! it knows your name Tanjiro!" He frantically started to jump around.

"how do you know my name?" Tanjiro demanded. The man simply sat there quietly. "And what do you mean I have come to free you?"

"The chains have bounded me...keeping me trapped here, but the prophecy has spoken...you shall free me"

Then memories of that night filled my mind, Hitting me like a wooden katana

'Beware the demon who carries the barren chains, when released the world will change, A hero thou come forth and be the demons bane'

"yes...These chains..you will break them...you will free me..." The demon slowly got up and began to walk towards them.

"AAAAAAH TANJIRO IT"S COMING OVER HERE! TANJIROO! WE'RE GONNA DIE!". Zentisu Screamed.

The demon simply stopped moving "why...do you scream so much...Perhaps you need to feel pain?...perhaps..."

He lifted up his arm and went still. "PIG ASSAULT!" screamed Inosuke as he charged forwards, reading his blades.

As Inosuke was running he suddenly stopped, turning his blade towards himself. "Inosuke! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Screamed Zenitsu.

"Make one more move and your...freind...he will..die"

'What kind of demon is he? how can he manipulate people?'

"Breath of sun: Retsujitsu kōkyō Scorching Crimson Mirror" HE ran straight towards his target ready to unleash his attack only to be stopped when a chain wrapped around his arms and legs. "why do you fight...Free me...And I will let you live...".

The chains squeezed tighter, as one snaked it way up to my stomach. The chains felt as if they were sucking the life out of him.

"do you feel death?... Do you feel the curse binding itself upon you? Do you feel your memories being sucked away?"

"Z-zenitsu help". Tanjiro weakly turned his head towards Him to see he was knocked out.

"release me...Free me...Spill your own blood on this floor and free me". My body began to move on its own, My sword pointing right at my chest. "Yes...Yes! do IT!"

'Fight it!... Fight It!'...' No you cannot fight it...I will consume your body with my darkness'

Everything was getting cold...Everything was getting dark. I couldn't. My body went limp as I felt three chains wrap around my face.

'Why.. am I falling? what are those screams? why do they sound familiar?... I'm so tired...I want to sleep...but I can't sleep get up!... But I don't want to...'

"Let my darkness consume you. let their screams break your mind...let your pain fuel your anger.."

I kept falling and falling...until I heard a splash, and I was drifting down into an ocean of ink..or perhaps it was sorrow that I was drifted down in.

"It's your fault..."

"What?..."

"you let them die, you left"

"no..."

"you left them there all alone without somebody to protect them...What kind of Brother are you?"

"I'm..a good brother?"

There was a loud chuckle that sound like it was everywhere.

"You don't sound so sure of yourself."

"I'm am a good brother...I am, I was.."

silence

"shh..sleep...let me in.."

Inosuke pov

"Ughh...Monitsu?...GONPANCHIRO!" he jumped up to see that Tanjiro was just sitting there..."Monjiro...Did you kill the demon?!"

"silence..."

"WHAT YOU DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" Inosuke puffed.

"then I'll do it myself" with a swift motion of his hand. Inosuke throat felt really sore. " You're hopeless. Do you know that?"

He stood up turning to look right at me. 'What's up with gonpanchiro?' inosuke thought, clearly oblivious to notice that Tanjiro was now behind him.

"you know...I think I'm going to kill you...That'll be fun...And this lump of uselessness, there's no point in killing him, he'll die soon anyway's."

"EH! KILL ME! YOU CAN"T KILL ME IM THE KING OF THE MOUNTAINS!".

Before he even could react he was pinned to the wall. This was the first clear look he got at Tanjiro's body after waking up...it was not normal.

His hair was blood red now, and much longer. it reached at least down to his waist. His body grew taller also. His eyes were a dark red That filled everything, The kanji's for pain, and unforgiveness were written on his eyes.

Wait no there were more than two.

1..2...3...4...5...6..7..

He had seven Eyes!?

'Gross! seven eyes?!'

"I can see your fear...why do you struggle..are you afraid of death?... Are you afraid to lose control over your own life? with a simple swipe of my hands, I could split your body in half...Then I could rip your eyes out and eat them like grapes..or I could dice you up into a hundred pieces and light you on fire...or I could suffocate you by water. So many ways to kill...so many ways to inflict pain.

Tanjiro's hot breath hit my body making me shiver. giving me goosebumps.

"T-tanjiro...You wouldn't kill me! You're my underling..my minion.". Tanjiro gave him a twisted smile." Minion...Underling...I'll show you how being an underling feels."

TAnjiro moved his fingers across Inosuke chest before stopping right underneath his heart. He then applied pressure, then his finger entered into Inosuke flesh.

"let's see how much of my blood you can handle before you die" Tanjiro snickered.

"Urghh! TANJIRO WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!?".

"Shh, my sweet little lamb..don't worry. the pain will only last for a second".

He laughed as he pulled his finger out of Inosuke's flesh, before smiling.

"I think..." Tanjiro said while laughing. "Goodbye for now...Hopefully well meet again."

Without a second for Inosuke to respond Tanjiro was gone.

"tanjiro..." He said.

His body was pleading for the searing pain to stop, but I was useless. the pain just continued to fill his body.

He could feel his body growing, his har getting thicker and longer, His nails getting sharper, His teeth growing bigger and sharper than before.

He felt oddly hungry...even though he ate before they left for the mission. He craved something different.

"Tanjiro...come back..." was the last thing he said as a human.

Back to Tanjiro pov

I ran and ran throughout the forest. I felt hungry. I needed to find food. but at the same time, something in my back of my mind told me that I wasn't hungry.

'yes...do you feel the power coursing through your body now?...' A voice said inside his mind.

He felt strange, many emotions filling his body at once.

Anger.

Sadness.

Emptiness.

but he couldn't understand these feelings, matter of fact he could not understand anything at the moment. all he felt he needed to understand was his hunger.

That was until he heard footsteps behind him, then he smelled something familiar.

The chatter of distant voices echoed throughout the forest. "Shinobu I think we're close to the village. You look tired, do you want me to carry you?"." Ne, Tomioka-san did you just offer to carry me?"

Those voices..they seemed so familiar but so unrecognizable.

His body told him to go towards the voices, while something told him to run. But he was so hungry maybe they had food.

'Go...Eat them, kill those two people..you will have your hunger quenched'

He climbed a tree to get a better look a the two people.

One wore a mitched-matched Haori, and one wore a white Haori with pink and green at the end of the sleeves.

Without a second thought, he jumped.

Tomioka-san pov

Tomioka and Shinobu walked down the path, only minutes away from their destination.

Until something jumped onto him.

"Giyu!"

he looked up at the face of the person only to be met with seven eyes.

Besides the eyes, everything looked so familiar, until his mind clicked.

"Tanjiro?.."

"That's not Tanjiro anymore," Shinobu said unsheathing her sword.
