This leads him to a young scavenger named Rey, who will change his life forever... A retelling of the sequel trilogy in a more satisfying way, changing certain parts of the story, adding two or three OC's and elements from Legends.

Book 3:

The Rise of SkyWalker

Chapter 2: Search For The WayFinder

A metalsmith, the Symeong Sith alchemist Albrekh, welds Ren's helmet back together as he looks on surrounded by his Knights of Ren.

It is a long process, but it proves fruitful.

With his helmet reforged, the Supreme Leader convenes a meeting of the First Order Council aboard his Resurgent-class Star Destroyer, The Steadfast, including General Armitage Hux, the newly promoted Commander Phasma, and Allegiant General Enric Pryde. As Ren and his Knights stride through the Steadfast's corridors into the conference room, a stormtrooper likens the Knights of Ren to "ghouls" while chatting with his fellow trooper.

Ten slams the bloody arm of Boolio onto the table.

The little alien had managed to escape, but not unscathed.

Kylo, "we have a spy in our ranks... who just sent a message to the Resistance. Whoever this traitor is won't stop us. With what I've seen on Exegol... the First Order is about to become a true Empire.

He pauses before continuing, "I sense unease about my appearance, General Hux."

Hux, "about the mask? No, sir. Well done."

Bellava Parnadee, "I like it."

Hux gives her a sharp glare.

Phasma, "no-one likes a kiss-ass Parnadee."

This earns a glare from Parnadee, and an actual smile from Hux.

Domaric Quinn, "forgive me, sir, but these allies on Exegol... they sound like a cult. Conjurers and soothsayers."

Phasma, "so did our Supreme Leader, and look where he is now?"

Enric Pryde, "they've conjured legions of Star Destroyers. The Sith fleet will increase our resources 10-1,000 fold. Such range and power will correct the error of Starkiller Base."

Amret Engell, "we'll need to increase recruitment. Harvest more of the galaxy's young."

Phasma, "that will take too long."

Domaric Quinn, "this fleet, what is it, a gift? What is he asking for in return?"

Ren starts choking Quinn.

Kylo, "prepare to crush any worlds that defy us. My knights and I are going hunting for the scavenger, and the last of the SkyWalker bloodline!"

….

The Falcon exits hyperspace above the desert planet of Pasaana.

After they land, the crew all walks through the planet's desert.

Rey, Owen, Chewie, Padme, Mara, Finn, Poe, Rose, Threepio, BB-8 and Nine.

Padme has a backpack on, with Thumper peaking out of it.

Poe, "you sure this is it?"

C-3PO, "these are the exact coordinates that Master Luke left behind."

Owen, "figures that dad would be this vague."

Upbeat folk music is heard playing.

A crowd is cheering.

They see a huge festival going on.

Poe, "what is this?"

C-3PO, "the Acky Acky Festival of the Ancestors. This celebration occurs only once every 42 years."

Rose, "oh joy."

Finn, "well, that's lucky."

C-3PO, "lucky, indeed. This festival is known for both its colorful kites... and its delectable sweets."

Everyone stares at Threepio, making the protocol droid turn to look behind him.

Soon the group is walking among the hige festival.

Rey, "I've never seen anything like this."

Finn, "I've never seen so few wayfinders."

Rose, "relax Poe, we'll find it."

Poe, "there's always random First Order patrols in crowds like these. So, keep your heads down. Chewie."

Chewie grunts at the remark.

Mara puts the hood of her beige jacket up.

Mara, "blending in."

Owen puts the hood of his blue jacket up.

The upbeat folk music continues.

Poe, "let's split up. See what the locals know."

Padme, "you got it Poe."

Rey and Owen see an older alien telling a story to a group of little alien children.

One female child comes up to Rey and Owen with two necklaces.

She says something that Threepio translates for her.

C-3PO, "she is saying, 'welcome.'"

The alien gives Rey a necklace and puts it around her neck.

She does the same to Owen.

C-3PO, "her name is Nambi Ghima."

Owen, "nice to meet you. I'm Owen Jace Skywalker."

Nambi speaks.

C-3PO, "she doesn't know the name, but is happy to learn it."

Rey, "you have an excellent name. I'm Rey."

Nambi speaks again.

C-3PO, "she would be honored to know your family name, too."

Rey pauses.

Rey, "I don't have one. I'm just Rey."

Owen and Padme give sad looks to her.

She knows of her grandfather's, but does she feel she should take one of their names?

That's when they heard quiet rumbling.

The music and chatter quiet.

Kylo reaches Rey, Owen and Padme through their force bond!

Kylo, "Palpatine wants you dead. All of you."

Padme, "we figured."

Rey, "serving another master?"

Kylo, "no. I have other plans besides letting your grandfather have you and my cousins. I offered you all my hand once. You wanted to take it. Why didn't you?"

Rey, "you could've killed us. Why didn't you?"

Padme, "I've wondered that as well. You had no reason to keep Owen and Rey alive?"

Kylo, "you can't hide, Rey, Jace, Jaina. Not from me."

Rey, "I see through the cracks in your mask. You're haunted. You can't stop seeing what you did to your father."

Owen, "it haunts you. What you've done to our family. To Uncle Han. To dad. Even how it affected Aunt Leia and mom."

Kylo, "do you still count the days since your parents left?"

The one question Rey still had no answer for. If she came from two powerful bloodlines connected to the Force, why was she left on Jakku?

Owen desperately wanted to help the woman he loved figure out who she was.

The same went for Padme. She wanted to ease the burden of her friend.

Kylo, "such pain in you, such anger. I don't wanna have to kill you all. I'm going to find you and I'm going to turn you to the dark side. When I offer you my hand again... you'll all take it."

Owen, "I doubt it."

Rey, "we'll see."

Kylo suddenly reaches out and grabs the necklace Nambi gave Rey!

The chatter resumes as the connection ends.

Poe, "has he seen him?

Rose, "haven't a clue."

Rey appraoched the group.

Rey, "we have to go. Back to the Falcon. Now."

Finn, "why?"

Poe, "did a Zillo Beast show up?"

Mara could sense something wrong.

Rey, "it's Ren."

….

Tishara Kanadia, "Sir, we've had this analyzed. It comes from the Middian System, Pasaana, Forbidden Valley."

Kylo, "prepare my ship. Alert the local troops. Send a division."

Pryde, "yes, Supreme Leader."

….

As Rey and her friends head back to the Falcon, a trooper spots them!

The trooper, "freeze. Hold it right there. I've located the Resistance fugitives. All units, report..."

The trooper is suddenly shot by a masked man.

The man, "follow me. Hurry. Leia sent me a transmission."

Another trooper approached, but before he could do anything, Mara ignited hee saber and sliced the trooper right down the middle!

The crew runs forward.

The man speaks alien language to an alien named Kalo'ne, driving a transport.

Kalo'ne, "okay."

After a masked man helps them to escape from the stormtroopers, Finn asks, "how'd you find us?"

The man takes off his mask to reveal himself to be Lando Calrissian!

Lando, "Wookies standout in a crowd."

Chewie groans in joy as he hugs Lando.

The group laughs in joy and relief.

BB-8 chirps.

Lando, "i's good to see you, too, old buddy. I'm sorry about Han."

Chewie nodded, thanking the old man for his condolences.

C-3PO, "this is General Lando Calrissian."

Rey, "we know who he is, Threepio."

Finn, "it's great to see you again General."

Lando, "ah hello Finn, Rose. How's DJ?"

Rose, "cowardly, but a help for all of us."

Lando gives a hug to Owen and Padme.

Lando, "ah, Jace, Jaina. I remember when you two were smaller than an Ewok!"

Padme, "it's great to see you Uncle Lando."

An honorary title for the older man.

Mara gave Lando a firm handshake.

Mara, "great to see you Lando."

Lando, "you too Mara. I just wish I could've seen Luke one final time."

The others gave nods before Poe asked, "General Calrissian, we're looking for Exegol."

Lando, "of course, you are. Only 2 were made."

Rey, "a Sith wayfinder."

BB-8 chirps his two cents in.

Rey, "Luke Skywalker came here to find one."

Lando chuckles and says, "I know. I was with him. Luke and I were tailing an old Jedi hunter. Ochi of Bestoon. He was carrying a clue that could lead to a wayfinder. We followed his ship halfway across the galaxy here. When we got to his ship, it was abandoned... No clue. No wayfinder."

Owen, "well that's a problem…."

Rey, "is Ochi's ship still here?"

Lando, "it's out in the desert, where he left it."

Rose, "well at least we have a location."

Rey, "we need to get to that ship. Search for it."

They hear engines whirring in distance.

Lando, "I got a bad feeling about this. Ochi's ship is out past Lurch Canyon. Go."

Poe, "thank you, General."

Chewie grunts softly at his old friend.

Lando, "you, too, Chewie."

Owen, Mara and Padme each gave Landi a hug.

Rose and Finn gave handshakes to him.

Rey, "Leia needs pilots, General."

Lando, "my flying days are long gone. But do me a favor... give Leia my love."

Rey, "you should give it to her yourself. Thank you."

Rey leaves with the others.

Squadrons of TIE Fighters and First Order dropships fly overhead as the crew hurries through the crowds to the fringes of the festival.

Poe, "there! Those speeders!"

Mara, "good eye Poe!'

Poe powers the speeders up.

Finn, "how do you know how to do that?"

Rose, "I feel like we'll get the answer soon enough…."

C-3PO, "no need to worry. I made it."

Male aliens exclaiming and shouting run towards the group.

Poe, "we gotta go."

The group takes two speeders away from the festival.

One one is Poe, Finn, Mara, Chewie and Threepio.

The other is Rey, Owen, Padme, BB-8, Nine and Rose.

As the two speeders race off, they get spotted.

A trooper speaks into their comlink, "we spotted the fugitives."

They are quickly pursued by First Order treadspeeders, which are carrying jet troopers.

Finn yelps as Chewie grunts and BB-8 chirps.

Padme can hear Thumper screaming in fright!

We see the rebels being chased by Stormtroopers who are also using jetpacks to fly.

Chewie grunts.

C-3PO, "oh! They fly now!"

Finn, "they fly now?

Poe, "they fly now."

Mara, "they flew back during the Clone Wars!"

Poe and Rey split up to lose their pursuers.

Rey is pursued by the jet troopers and two treadspeeders while Poe takes the skiff speeder through a narrow canyon.

Poe, "did we lose them?"

Finn, "looks like it!"

C-3PO, "excellent job, sir!"

However, they are intercepted by a treadspeeder lying in wait.

C-3PO, "terrible job, sir!"

….

BB-8 chirps that he has an idea!

Rey, "not now, BB-8.

Owen, "we'll hear it when we're not in danger!"

BB-8 fires a colored smoke canister, blinding the pursuing treadspeeder and causing it to crash onto rocks.

Standing her ground, Rey and Owen fire at the second treadspeeder, causing it to explode.

Rey, "never underestimate a droid."

Padme, "the motto of our life!"

Meanwhile, Finn manages to tie a rope around the treadspeeder's engine. Poe then brings their skiff speeder to a halt, causing the pursuing speeder to crash against a rock. Chewbacca also shoots down a Jet trooper just as Poe's speeder catches up with Rey's speeder.

Finn, "whoo!"

Mara, "nice shootin' Rex!"

Finn, "huh?"

Mara, "I'll tell ya later!"

Poe, "yeah!"

Poe laughs as Threepio yells, "right, ho!"

As the speeders continue on, Rey saus, "Ochi's ship. I've seen that ship before."

Owen could tell Rey had a past with this ship.

Poe, "Rey!"

Finn, "you get all of them?"

However, the last remaining jet trooper shoots at their two skiffs, causing them to crash onto the rocks and throwing the Resistance team into a strange looking field. Rey and her comrades manage to shoot the jet trooper, causing the soldier to crash against the rocks.

But then, the Resistance team starts sinking!

Poe, "what the hell is this?"

BB-8 chirps frantically.

As they are sinking in through the quicksand, Rey yells, "sinking fields! Try to grab something!"

Owen, "and make sure it doesn't sink too!"

C-3PO, "will this agony ever end?"

Padme, "I've been asking thay all my life Threepio!"

Poe, "come on!"

Rose, "the universe just loves to punish us, doesn't it?!"

Rey, "BB-8! No!"

BB-8 chirps in panic!

Finn turns to Rose, "Rose, I didn't get to ask you-"

Rose, "what!? Finn!"

The group can't stop themselves from sinking!

….

Back at the Resistance Base.

We see Leia and Ahsoka talking to Snap.

Nearby we see a few familiar faces.

The Ghost Crew!

And the Mantis Crew!

We see Zeb, now older, with some grey fur.

Hera has some noticeable wrinkles, but still looks quite young.

Nearby is her son Jacen, now a fully grown man in a red shirt and black vest. Sadly, the young man didn't show any signs of Force sensitivity, but he still fought for freedom like his parents did.

Chopper sits near Hera, looking even more rusty, but still functioning strong.

Sabine still wears her old armor, now a bright neon red and orange. Her helmet was off, revealing her blue bob-cut.

She even has a ring on her finger.

She had married a nice man, and had two kids. She was fighting for them.

Cal is sitting by Merrin, who has longer hair in a ponytail, with a red jumpsuit and purple vest.

BD-1 was sitting atop Cal's shoulder.

Near them was a young woman with pale skin like Merrins, but a red pixie cut. She had on a short red poncho over blue robes.

This was Fera, Cal and Merrins daughter.

Like Jacen, she didn't have much of s connection to the force, but she did have training with a lightsaber.

Snap, "General. We're getting reports of a raid at the Festival of Ancestors."

Merrin, "isn't that only every forty two years?"

Zeb, "heh, lucky them."

Leia, "this mission is everything. We cannot fail. Any words from Rey and the others?

Snap, "Falcon's not responding."

Ahsoka, "do you have to say it like that?"

Snap, "like what?

Sabine, "like they're dead."

Leia, "do me a personal favor? Be optimistic."

Snap, "yes, ma'am. Uh, this is... This is terrific. You're not gonna believe how well this is gonna turn out."

Ahsoka sighs and turns around.

Snap, "it's gonna be great."

DJ, "s-says you."

….

BB-8 chirps as he and the others all fall into some underground tunnels.

Poe groans and spits some sand out.

He and Rose get up from the ground.

Poe, "Rey! Finn! Nine!"

Rose, "Chewie! Padme! Mara!"

C-3PO, "you didn't say my name, but I'm all right."

They hear grunting and find Rey, Mara and Nine.

Poe, "you all right?"

Rey, "yeah. Where's Finn? And Owen?"

Poe, "where's Chewie?"

Chewie is heard groaning.

As Finn gets up, we see Owen right under Chewie.

Padme and Mara help Chewie up off of Owen.

Thumper is seen shaking on Padme's shoulder before she got him back into her pack.

Finn, "I'm good."

C-3PO, "ah. Master Finn and Owen. Mistress Mara and Padme."

Rose hugs Finn as Rey hugs Owen.

Nine rolls up beside BB-8.

They all look around the place they're in.

Finn, "what is this place?"

C-3PO, "this isn't the afterlife, is it? Are droids allowed in here?"

Rose, "given everything you, Artoo, Nine and BB-8 have done for us, I think you deserve it."

Poe, "I thought we were goners."

C-3PO, "we might still be."

Mara, "try to be optimistic Threepio."

Finn, "which way out?"

Rey, "we have to hurry."

The hall is very dark.

And so, Rey activated her blue and yellow sabers, currently disconnected.

Owen uses his purple and orange one.

Mara uses her purple one.

And Padme uses her light blue one.

As the group continued on, Rose asked, "so, what were you gonna ask me?"

Finn, "I'll tell you later."

Poe, "why not now?"

Finn, "this is neither the time, nor place."

Rose, "well then when?"

Finn, "how about after the mission?"

Rose, "fine, I can wait…."

Chewie grunts as Poe says, "I don't wanna know what made these tunnels."

C-3POn "judging by the circumference of the tunnel walls..."

Poe, "I said I do not wanna know. Not."

That's when they came across a vehicle in the tunnel.

Padme, "what's that?"

Finn, "is that a speeder?"

Rey, "what? An old one."

C-3PO, "perhaps we will find the driver."

They found the driver.

Only, he wasn't alive.

BB-8 chirps.

Poe, "yep, BB-8, I think dead, too."

They found something on the driver.

C-3PO, "oh, my. A hex charm."

Poe, "a what?"

C-3PO, "a common emblem of Sith loyalists."

Rey, "sith."

Mara, "bever a good sign."

Finn, "this was Ochi's?"

Rey, "Luke sensed it. Ochi never left this place."

Finn, "and he ended up down here."

Owen, "something we don't want for us…."

Poe, "he was headed for his ship. Same thing happened to us, happened to him."

Finn, "so, how did Ochi get out?"

Rey, "he didn't."

Rose, "how do you know this?"

Chewie groans at the sight they find.

Ochi's bones in the underground tunnel.

Finn, "no, he didn't."

Owen, "oh Kriff baskets…."

Poe, "bones. I don't like bones."

C-3PO, "bones? Never a good sign."

Padme, "unless you're an archaeologist."

BB-8 chirps at something he finds.

A dagger.

Rey, "yeah, I see it."

Owen, "careful Rey."

Rey hears a woman whimpering as she touches the blade. Owen, Padme and Mara can hear it as well.

Rey whispers, "horrible things... have happened with this."

Rose, "how do you know?"

Rey, "Cal taught me this skill. To feel the last actions of an object, and what the person felt."

Owen, "have I ever mentioned how impressed I am with your skills?"

Rey, "you could stand to mention it once or twice."

Poe, "there's writing on it."

C-3PO, "perhaps I can translate. Oh. The location of the wayfinder, has been inscribed upon this dagger. It's the clue that Master Luke was looking for."

Poe, "and?"

Finn, "where's the wayfinder?"

Rose, "is it close?"

C-3PO, "I am afraid I cannot tell you."

Poe, "20.3 fazillion languages, and you can't read that?"

Padme, "I'm pretty sure it's only six million forms of communication."

Finn, "you remember that?"

Owen, "he's said it enough times."

C-3PO, "oh, I have read it, sir. I know exactly where the wayfinder is. Unfortunately, it is written in the runic language of the Sith."

Mara, "that doesn't bode well…."

Rey, "so what?"

C-3PO, "my programming forbids me from translating it."

Poe, "so, you're telling us the one time we need you to talk, you can't?"

Owen, "that's ironic."

C-3PO, "indeed, irony, sir. I am mechanically incapable of speaking translations from Sith. I believe the rule was passed by the Senate of the Old Republic..."

Just then a giant sand worm, known as a vexis, appears behind C-3PO!

BB-8 yelps as Nine screams!

The creature is snarling.

C-3PO, "serpent! Serpent! Serpent!"

They prepare to fight the beast but Rey notices that the serpent is injured.

Rey slowly approached the serpent.

BB-8 chirps softly as the creature growls.

Finn, "Rey."

Owen, "careful."

Owen feared for Rey's life, but tried to remain calm.

The vexis continues snarling and growling as Rey slowly makes her way towards the creature's wound.

Poe, "Finn."

Finn, "shh."

Padme, "give her a chance Poe."

The creature growls more softly.

Poe, "I'm gonna blast it."

Finn, "don't blast it."

Mara, "you blast it, I'll slice your toe off."

Rey moves her hand close to the wound and begins concentrating her energy. She slowly begins to heal the wound the vexis has.

Everyone grows shocked looks.

Even Owen, who had only heard about this skill from his Aunt Ahsoka and his father.

Padme was a little less shocked, but still felt surprise at the sight.

After Rey heals the sand worm, it chitters softly and leaves the crew alone, showing a hole to the surface.

The others all sigh in relief.

BB-8 chirps a question.

Rey, "I just transferred a bit of life. Force energy from me to him. It was a skill Ahsoka was able to teach me."

BB-8 chirps.

Rey, "you would've done the same."

Owen helps Rey to her feet, the two of them smiling brightly at one another as they made their way up to the surface….

I couldn't kill Boolio. He seemed too nice.

And we get to see Phasma show up!

And I had the Ghost Crew and the Mantis Crew pop up. I decided to give Sabine a family, and Jacen doesn't have the Force.

And I had Merrin and Cal end up together.

They'll be a part of the final battle on Exegol.

And I'm replacing the thing with Finn never telling Rey what he wanted to to Finn actually telling Rise something in one of the next chapters.

I had Ahsoka teach Rey how to use force healing, since she's set to appear in The Mandilorian, and might have picked up the skill from seeing the a child use it.

Also, what name should Rey take at the end?

SkyWalker?

Kenobi?

Palpatine?

Or just Rey?
