Stark Industries HQ, New York City

'Widow expanded the operation. Soon, I was the most popular guy in town. More A.P.C.s were sent out to rescue the uninfected, and I was sent to protect them. Didn't get a break 'til morning hit. That's when things started to go from bad, to worse.' Spidey narrated.

Morning has hit New York as the symbiotes continue to consume the city into their living abyss. At the Resistance's base, Spider-Man sits on the edge of the Stark Building's rooftop, eating his breakfast alone. While enjoying his bagel, he notices Blake jumping onto the roof with her bag of food.

"I see you've finished with your caravan extractions this morning." Blake smiles at him.

"For now anyway. Trying to finish my breakfast before I'm requested for another 15." Spidey quipped.

"Mind if I eat with you?" Blake asks, while taking a seat next to her partner.

"Be my guest. You are a guest in my world, even though I lashed out on you on the phone." Spidey said, frowning underneath his mask while still feeling ashamed for his aggressive behavior the last time he talked to Blake.

"I know that wasn't you talking. It was the symbiote." Blake replied.

"Which was feeding off my rage towards Brock." Spidey retorted, "I found a picture of us and our families at his apartment. Eddie and I played together every day for years. He was my best friend. And now look at us. Arch enemies that are battling for control of the city we BOTH swore to protect!"

Blake looks down somberly, "Doesn't sound too different of how my relationship with Adam ended."

BGM-Spider-Man 3 (Game) OST-Shared Tension (Part 1)

"At least your ex-boyfriend didn't launch an alien invasion that threatens to destroy the whole world." Peter responded stoically.

Blake glares at him, "But he DID form an alliance with Goblin that nearly destroyed my home. I'm probably the only one here who understands how you're feeling right now, blaming yourself for Eddie's actions and feeling guilty of your loved ones getting hurt."

"YOU'RE not bonded to a symbiote." Peter retorts sternly, "Each time I wear the Black Suit to help people, those same people are wary of me."

"That's how Faunus are treated like on my world." Blake retorted.

"Faunus are just misunderstood. Symbiotes are pure evil. Monsters that have conquered worlds and destroyed countless civilizations. I may be in control of my symbiote, but it still has a…slight influence. Made me do things I'm not proud of. Like threatening Vulture, and releasing Rhino from prison. And my fight with Salem…made me feel like I'm Anakin Skywalker." Spidey argued somberly while staring at his right hand.

Blake stares at him in confusion, "You know I don't understand that reference."

"I'm just…wondering. Things are different this time. I'm different. How far am I willing to go to save this city?" Spidey asked gloomingly, wondering deeply about his moral dilemma.

Blake pauses at his question and stares wordlessly at the infested city. She stares sincerely back at Peter and touches his shoulder, "Listen, Pete. Since we first met, you've been an inspiration to me. I have nothing but respect for you. You've shown me that justice doesn't always have to come from the darkness, and I shouldn't run away from my problems. Instead, I should rely on my friends and tackle them head-on. Darkness may have consumed Eddie, but don't let it take control of you. ALWAYS remember who you are. You can always count on me at least to be there to remind you." She said with a smile, which was noticed by Peter.

"Wish I was there for Eddie when HE needed me. Now he's lost in the shadows somewhere. And I don't know if I'm scared of him, or FOR him." Peter replied somberly.

"But Eddie's not here right now." Blake kisses him on the cheek, which shocks him, "I'm here."

Spidey smiles, "Heh. There's a reason you're among my top 2 favorite cat girl."

Blake smirks at him, "Really? Am I competing against Felicia for first place?"

"Uh, I did not say anything about Felicia being a part of that list." Spidey retorts nervously.

"What other cat girl do you know?" Blake asked.

"Blaze the Cat, and that other cat girl from another dimension who also calls herself Felicia…" Spidey quips, receiving a firm glare from the faunus.

BGM-Shadow the Hedgehog OST- Determination

Suddenly, Peter receives a call from Winter through his earpiece, 'Spider-Man, come meet me inside the communications room. Our allies from Mobius and Remnant want to meet with you.'

"On my way." Peter hangs up the call before looking at Blake, "Wanna come with me to reunite with some old friends?"

Blake smiles, "Sure."

The animal duo drops down from the rooftop and walks through the entrance into the Stark Building. They pass by many scared refugees housed inside the massive building as they make their way to the communications room. Inside, they find Winter standing alongside holograms of Sonic the Hedgehog, Tails, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, James Ironwood, and Ozpin.

Ruby gasps in happiness upon noticing Spidey and Blake and waves at them, "Spidey! Blake!"

Sonic greets his friends with a two-finger salute, "Yo! Long time no see! Having a blast fighting an alien invasion?"

Spidey scoffs with a smile, "You bet. Nice to see you all again. Wish it was under better circumstances."

"That's nothing new." Sonic shrugged.

"Spider-Man." Ozpin speaks to get his attention, "Allow me to be the first to deeply apologize of New York's current state. We've been informed of the symbiote invasion and your Black Suit. How are you feeling at the moment?"

Spidey shrugs, "Fine. But even when I'm wearing my Red Suit over the Black Suit, it's still with me…corrupting me."

Ozpin frowns, "I see. Again, I am truly sorry for what you're going through. If I had known Salem had taken refuge on your world, I could've prevented this outbreak."

"Don't be too hard on yourself, professor. BOTH of our enemies are the cause of this. I promise to make Salem pay on your behalf." Spidey replied.

Ozpin nods, "Thank you."

"Still, it's quite awesome that you're still you. Controlling your symbiote is not too different how I controlled my Werehog form." Sonic commented.

"You became a what?" Weiss retorted in confusion.

"Long story involving a god of darkness living in the core of my planet infecting me with some of its energy." Sonic quips, which silently stuns Ozpin and Ironwood.

"Yeah, that's pretty much how I'm suffering right now." Spidey quipped. "How are your worlds gonna handle this interdimensional alien invasion? We heard Salem might be targeting them next."

"She kinda already started her attack. Just recently, the United Federations' mainframe was hacked by a 'living virus' that deleted the core program, shutting down communications throughout Mobius." Tails replied.

"Same thing happened to our CCTs not too long ago. We're currently investigating the nature of this virus and how to delete it before restoring communications." Ironwood commented.

"Must be the symbiotes. I remember hearing about Venom able to physically enter the internet on a molecular level and travel between hard-wired computers through Ethernet cables, or anything similar." Spidey proclaimed.

"Symbiotes can do that? That is VERY weird." Ruby remarked.

"This confirms our fears. The Symbiotes have sent advanced parties to Mobius and Remnant to weaken their resources before launching a full-scale invasion." Winter commented.

"Have any of you tracked down any symbiotes? Noticed anyone acting strangely, because we learned the hard way that symbiotes can disguise themselves as normal people." Spidey asks his interdimensional allies.

Tails shakes his head, "Not yet. The Freedom Fighters are patrolling Central City as we speak. If what you all told us is true, then the symbiotes are targeting GUN. They may have already infiltrated their base. Same could be said for the Atlesian Military."

"Then hurry and flush 'em out. See if you can build a symbiote tracking device. Check for alien pods hiding in back alleys. And keep an eye on people who have a negative reaction towards fire or loud noises." Spidey instructed his interdimensional allies.

Ironwood crosses his arms stoically, "In other words, keep an eye on your mess and clean it up for you." He said, being oddly annoyed with the webslinger.

Spidey retorts, "Hey now, don't blame me for what Venom and Salem-."

"Correct me if I am wrong, but Venom got HIS Black Suit from you. And Salem got her symbiote from HIM. And now she has used the symbiotes to create sleeper agents that are hiding within my organization, making it difficult to trust my own men." Ironwood cuts him off with a stern look, blaming Peter for this symbiote invasion.

"I…yeah." Spidey admitted shamefully.

"So this is a mess made by you." Ironwood replied.

Spidey says, "If you want to take the long view, sure. This is my responsibility, but I was doing my best to straighten it out before…"

"Before SHIELD, GUN, and my military came to do what you could not." Ironwood retorted.

"And here I thought we were becoming friends." Spidey quipped.

"You can't blame Spider-Man for all of this. It's not like he called for an alien invasion to attack our worlds." Blake argues with the general.

"Then he should've stopped Venom before Salem took an interest in him." Ironwood retorted.

"You try fighting an alien that has all of your powers and is invisible to your Spider-Sense. Venom has always been a tough one. Even during the few times I've beat him and separated the symbiote from Brock, they always seem to come back together as Venom to haunt me." Spidey argued, unknowingly causing Ozpin to look somberly at the floor.

"Then instead of simply defeating Venom, you should have destroyed him completely when you had the chance." Ironwood disputed.

Spidey glares at the general with a stern tone, "I do NOT resort to murder! I'm a hero, not a destroyer. Symbiotes are nearly indestructible, and Brock is just being USED by the symbiote! He can be a little crazy, but this invasion was NOT his plot! Not intentionally."

"And wasn't Venom tricked into working with Salem? Ya know, YOUR world's baddie that's orchestrating this invasion? Sounds like you're just scared of the old lady." Sonic said to the general, defending Spidey.

"Salem was dangerous BEFORE recruiting Venom and bonding with a symbiote of her own. She isn't like Goblin. She is an incredibly evil witch that has been haunting Remnant for centuries, and I've been anticipating the day she stopped hiding in the shadows! This an alien invasion was NOT what I expected from her at all, and I fear we may not survive this!" Ironwood argued.

"Then instead of wasting time blaming Spider-Man for what Venom and Salem are doing, you should be thankful he's a symbiote expert who has helped stopped alien invasions and sorcerers before." Ruby retorted.

"Ruby is right. Don't overstress yourself, James. Our worlds were once saved when we banded together against a common threat, and Salem acknowledges that strength. We must stand united once more to defend our worlds against these invaders." Ozpin said to his old friend, wanting everyone to stay united against the symbiotes.

Just then, Black Widow and Vulture enter the room, as the former has an annoyed look on her face that has gotten everyone's attention and concern, "Ugh! Tinkerer is causing us trouble!"

Spidey quips, "This isn't the part where you tell me you killed him and I have to go get another super villain, is it? Because I can't be an accessory to-."

"He claims he needs items that are in Fisk's possession." Widow interrupted him.

"Well I claim he's just a pain in the butt." Spidey quipped.

"Regardless, we are picking up stakes and moving. Go inform Fisk. Take Belladonna and Vulture with you." Widow ordered, much to the shock of the young heroes.

"What?!" Blake reacted.

"Go inform…You want US to go to the KINGPIN himself and…Do what now?" Peter gestured his concerns.

"SHIELD is going to commandeer Fisk Tower. I would like to do so quickly, and with minimal bloodshed." Widow explained.

"No bloodshed would be nice." Weiss quipped.

Sonic shrugs, "And I've worked with an evil fatman before to stop an alien invasion."

"Hence Spider-Man's mission to speak with Fisk." Widow replied.

"Okay, no problem! I'll just file the papers and get my name changed to the Amazing Spider-Diplomat." Spidey joked.

"Off we go, children." Vulture glances at his new teammates before walking away.

"Good luck, guys! We'll keep guarding our worlds in the meantime." Ruby happily waves goodbye to her friends, as Peter and Blake leave the room with Vulture.

Later at Fisk Tower…

BGM-Spider-Man: Web of Shadows OST-Kingpin Henchmen (Red Suit)

Spider-Man, Blake, and Vulture land on a rooftop near Fisk Tower. They can plainly see that the tower is not only guarded by Tech Warriors but is surrounded by a forcefield, with the upper portion of the building electrified.

"Vulture, you were Fisk's tech guy before you were sent back to the coop. How do we get inside the building?" Spidey asked his winged ally, perching on the rooftop.

"From the rooftop, but it's been electrified. See those large black rods?" Vulture points to the rods protruding from the tower, "Those are the building's generators. We'll need to manually disable them in order to gain access into the building."

"I'll do the heavy lifting. You two distract the guards." Spidey tasks his allies.

"We can't just talk to the guards for a meeting with Fisk?" Blake questions their plan.

"That'd be the smart and logical thing to do. None of those guards have those qualities." Spidey grabs the huntress' wrist and swings themselves towards the building, while Vulture sprouts his magnetic wings and follows them. "You know this is how mother cats carry their young." Spidey said to his cat friend.

"How would you know?" Blake questioned.

As they enter the forcefield, Spidey briefly spins Blake before throwing her down onto an unexpecting Tech Soldier. She stomps on his chest, whipping out her sword and sheath to wield in tandem before dashing at more goons to strike. "It's Spider-Man and Vulture! They are attacking Fisk Tower!" A Tech Soldier alerts his forces.

"Don't discount my cat, Blake!" quips Spidey, webstriking a Tech Flier as he makes his way towards a lower generator.

"Thanks for having everyone shoot at me!" Blake retorts, backflipping away from rapid bulletfire. She uses her Semblance to create a stone statue to use as cover. While the Soldiers shoot relentlessly at the statue, Vulture flies over and launches his bladed feathers to knock them back. "We just want to speak with Fisk! We need his help to stop the invasion!" Blake said, trying to reason with the Tech Soldiers.

"You'll have to get through us if you want to speak with the big man!" said a Tech Heavy, rushing to swing his powerful punch at Blake, who quickly dodges it.

"Thought Fisk was the Kingpin, not the Big Man!" quips Spidey, sticking onto the wall of the tower and delivering a combo of overhead flip kicks to a Heavy guarding the generator. He knocks the Heavy off the wall and crawls to the generator. With his spider-strength, he pulls the black rod out of the generator and reinserts it upside down, disabling the generator. "Lower defenses are weakening. Gotta disable the other generator." He said, before sensing then dodging several shots from Tech Fliers, "Without getting blasted on my way." He swings away from the Fliers, "Where's that distraction, guys? Vulture, you built these guys' tech. Didn't you install a failsafe to take manual control of their armor in case they turn against you?"

Vulture throws his feathers at the Fliers chasing the webslinger, "Yes I did." He quickly projects a holoscreen from his left gauntlet to hack into the Tech Warriors' armor and take command. He gets a pop-up of his success, only to be immediately denied. He grunts in anger, "Unfortunately, Fisk knew about it and seems to have overridden my command."

"Guess we're doing things the old fashioned way." said Blake, stunning a Heavy with a swift blow. She then assaults him with a series of slashes until the goon recovered. He swings an energized fist at her, but she backflips away and leaves behind a fire clone that explodes violently upon contact, sending the Heavy flying towards a crowd of goons.

Spidey divekicks a Flier off his glider, then quickly throws him onto a Heavy on a wall before webbing them together. The webslinger zips next to the next generator, then disables it swiftly. "Nearly done! Gotta disable the upper generator and we're off to chat with Willie." Spidey wall-runs towards the upper generator. Several Heavies and a Flier rush towards the wallcrawler and attack him, but Spidey dodges their ruthless attacks. The Flier hurls a bomb at Spidey, only for him to web it and throw it at the Heavies to blast them off the wall. Spidey web-yanks the Flier, slamming him onto the wall to be webbed. Spidey hurries to the upper generator and quickly disables it, deactivating the rooftop's electricity field.

"Rooftop is now open to anyone that wants to chat with Fisk." Spidey says while zipping towards the rooftop.

"You go! You know him better! Vulture and I will clear the way!" Blake grabs ahold of Vulture's arm, as he flies them towards the rooftop.

"But I don't wanna chat with Fisk." Spidey whines, while Blake and Vulture land on the rooftop and swiftly clear it of tech goons, "Oh, fine. I'll establish the peace treaty." He pries open the rooftop door until it is wide enough for him to jump through.

Kingpin's Office

The fat crimelord himself stands in his quiet office, calmly looking out the window and noticing symbiotes crawling up his building. He doesn't bother turning around when Spider-Man descends from the ceiling and hangs upside down on his webline behind his back. "Kingpin. I cannot BELIEVE I'm saying these words, and I cannot BELIEVE I'm not doing it without a fat joke, but…look I need your help." Spidey admits to his arch-nemesis.

"Help? To clean up this mess YOU made?" Kingpin retorted, being the second person after Ironwood to accuse Peter of this symbiote invasion.

"Mess?" Spidey drops down from his webline, "I…mess?! What?! NO! We need to move Tinkerer to your building! And, why is EVERYONE blaming what's happening on me?!"

"I see the family resemblance, don't you?" Kingpin questioned, mockingly gesturing to a Symbiote Snatcher outside of his building, "I will make you a deal, Spider-Man. Help me out with a few 'errands' and I will consider helping you."

"You want me to do your grocery shopping?" Spidey quips, "I have super-strength, but I'm not-."

"I want you to be my PAWN." Fisk retorted, "I want you to know that you saved Manhattan, but only by doing MY bidding. Even if ALL I do is have you pick up a bit of litter, I know that it will GNAW at you for the rest of your days, that YOU had to help ME save this city."

Spidey sighs while crossing his arms, "Okay, fine. What do you need?"

"Restore the defenses on my building. Things here were very secure until just a few minutes ago." Kingpin ordered.

"Alright, fine. Then we're even." Spidey complied, enticing Fisk to smile deviously at him.

Outside Fisk Tower

BGM-Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 OST-Into the Fray

Symbiotes rampage towards the rooftop of the tower, which is being guarded by Blake, Vulture, and the Tech Thugs. The growling aliens hold nothing back against the resistance, massacring some of the thugs while Blake and Vulture hold their own. Blake swiftly dodges the lunge of a few Symbiote Slashers, leaving behind a fire clone to destroy them. Suddenly the faunus got grabbed by the tendrils of a Symbiote Grappler, a black symbiote with red accents that physically resembles Venom but with no eyes. With a fierce roar, the Grappler throws Blake off the rooftop. As she falls to certain death, she was saved by the webslinging Spider-Man.

Blake smirks at her rescuer, "Thanks, 'mama cat'."

"Oo, comedy comeback. You're gettin' good." Spidey quipped.

Spidey swings themselves to the rooftop, where the Grappler lashes its extending tendrils at them. Spidey dodges its quick attacks while throwing Blake upwards, who shoots at it repeatedly so it may drop its defensives. Spidey webstrikes the creature, barraging it with flurry of punches, then swiftly backflips away for Blake to deliver the finishing aerial spin attack.

"As soon as we disabled the tower's defensives, the symbiotes came marching in. Did you asked Fisk to help us?" Blake asked the webslinger.

"Only if we re-enable his tower's defensives." Spidey responded.

Blake scowls and grunts in frustration, "Seriously?! After our hard work to disable them?!"

"Never bargain with a devil, especially one as fat as him. There's ALWAYS a catch." quips Spidey, countering a Symbiote Beowolf with a stinger slash, "Stay here and guard the roof! I'll enable the generators!"

"Be quick! They're about to swarm us!" Blake says while deflecting bullets from Symbiote Shooters.

Spidey jumps off the roof and skydives towards the upper generator, which is surrounded by a few symbiotes, "Fisk Tower is closing! Please return when you aren't hungry for brains or conquering cities!" He web blasts the aliens off the wall as he reaches the generator. He pulls out the large rod, turns it upside down and places it back into the generator, reactivating it.

Electricity bursts from the rooftop, blasting the symbiotes off from it while the Tech Warriors cheer at their defensives returning. "Good job, boy! Now you must reactivate the lower generators! Belladonna and I will cover you!" Vulture allows Blake to latch onto his back, as he flies off to assist Spider-Man.

As Spider-Man zips towards a lower generator, he gets assaulted by a few symbiotes. Vulture comes to his rescue, impaling aliens with hurled feathers. Blake changes her weapon into its gun mode and relentlessly shoots at a Grappler that was about to clash with Spider-Man on the wall, getting its roaring attention away from him. Spidey runs towards the generator, only to get spindashed away by three Symbiote Boarbatusk. "That's Sonic's move! Betcha I can sue you for copyright infringement and win." He grabs a spindashing Boarbatusk with a webline and throws it at another, knocking both of them off the wall before webstriking the third Grimm. He hurries to the second generator and reactivates it.

"Second generator is up! Hurrying to the last one!" Spidey said, swinging towards the last generator.

"You better! The symbiotes are attacking the upper generator!" retorted Blake, helping Vulture eliminate the symbiotes attacking the generator.

"We'll lend you a hand!" said a Tech Flier, throwing a bomb at the crowd of symbiotes assaulting the generator.

"You are?" Blake responded in shock.

"Kingpin's orders. We may not like you punks, but we hate these aliens more!" The Tech Flier replied.

"Kingpin really does care." quips Spidey, sticking to the wall with the last generator. He spots a Symbiote Death Stalker across from him, which blasts acid from its stinger at Spidey. The webslinger dodges the acid blasts, then swiftly webstrikes the glowing stringer before web-stomping its head. His assault briefly stunned the creature, as it smacks him away with its stinger. It's about to attack him again, only to get punched across the face by a Tech Heavy.

"We got this, bug! Reactivate the generator!" shouted the Tech Heavy, as he and a few Tech Soldiers fend off the Death Stalker.

"Roger, not-Iron Man." Spidey flips to the generator and activates it, "Aaannd ZAP goes the symbiotes!"

In the moment all the generators were reactivated, the tower bursts and emits a constant electrical field that electrocutes all of the symbiotes on the wall. They were zapped off the tower and fell to their deaths, while the survivors retreated knowing they have lost the fight.

BGM End

The Tech Warriors cheer loudly of their victory over the symbiotes. Spider-Man lands on the ground in front of the tower, as he reunites with Vulture and Blake after they land next to him. Spidey touches his earpiece while calling Kingpin, "Fisk, I did what you wanted. Your tower is secure."

'Excellent. And just in time. I called in SHIELD while you were busy. You should see them arriving any second now.' Kingpin proclaimed. The heroes look to the sky and notice a SHIELD hovercraft about to land atop of Fisk Tower, 'You and your team are allowed to join us as we discuss the plan.'

Peter nods, "Fine." He grabs Blake and webzips to the rooftop, with Vulture following them to meet with their allies.

Later inside Kingpin's Office…

BGM-Spider-Man: Web of Shadows OST-S.H.I.E.L.D. Quarantine Zone

Spider-Man, Blake, Vulture, Kingpin, Rouge, Black Widow, and Tinkerer have gathered inside the office as they begin discussing their grand plan to destroy the symbiotes.

"Here is my plan." said Tinkerer, pressing a clicker to activate a hologram, which doesn't work. He clears his throat in annoyance, "HERE is my plan!" He presses the clicker again, which works this time. He projects a holographic image of his superweapon on the table, "The symbiotes are vulnerable to sound. This device will generate a self-perpetuating sonicwave of 59,000 hertz by converting the light from a plasma detonation into a thermal wave."

"HA!" Vulture cockily interrupted, "You'll have to AMPLIFY that signal as the wave is generated."

"That's WHY it is designed to employ the metal superstructure of a SKYSCRAPER! Like a tuning fork." Tinkerer retorted, showing his Sonic Generator standing atop of a skyscraper.

"Fine! We'll liberate Avengers Tower for the device!" Black Widow commented.

"Hmph." Vulture scoffed.

"The harmonics will only work on the right kind of alloy. American steel, forged before 1940. Only ONE building has the right makeup. The Trask Building!" Tinkerer displays a hologram of the aforementioned building.

"Will it kill all the symbiotes without killing their host?" Rouge questioned the scientist.

"Yes." Tinkerer answered, "Now, to complete this project I require the following: Full access to the facilities here in Fisk Industries. $25 MILLION dollars in cash. A full pardon. And THIS castle in Italy, with THIS woman from my favorite tool calendar waiting by the pool." He displays his holographic desires.

"Pfft, ha!" Spidey chuckled, finding his requests amusing.

Fisk looks at Tinkerer and says, "My laboratories are at your disposal. And if you allow me a moment to place a few 'calls', the castle, and the girl, are yours. But I'm afraid the pardon, and of course, the money, are up to my esteemed colleague from SHIELD." He gestures his hand to Black Widow.

Everyone stares at Black Widow, who scowls at them, "…Fine!" She shrugs in annoyance, reluctantly accepting the requests, "Now, we just have to keep the city from self-destructing." She walks away while lowly cursing in Russian, and still receiving strange stares from her allies.

KFX Here: When you compare the two, "Spider-Man: Web of Shadows" and "Shadow the Hedgehog (game)" are pretty similar. Both games have a moral system. Both games center around alien invasions. Both games having the military hating the main character for stupid reasons. There's a reason Shadow has an important role in this story, since he survived a VERY similar alien invasion and dealt with personal issues that decided his future.

Question of the Chapter: Consider Spider-Man's role in the creation of Venom, and Ozpin's role in the creation of Salem. Would their friends be more angry at Spider-Man for the symbiote invasion, or at Ozpin? Assume their friends already know the truth and backstory about Venom and Salem.
