Angel was leading them to their doom, Max was sure of it. Not that they weren't in danger every day, but that was beside the point. Apparently there was a huge castle that they were headed for, but Max was pretty sure it was bogus. The closer they got, the more she wanted to turn around. But, at the same time, it had been a very long day, and her wings were tired, and she could tell that the rest were tired too. She wondered where Fang was. Probably having the time of his life on some beach somewhere with Iggy and Gazzy. They all annoyed her sometimes-Fang especially, these days-but oh, did she miss them. It felt physical sometimes, as if someone was driving a dull knife into her heart, slowly. But she was stronger than that. She could get past this. She just needed to distract herself.

"Ange, are you sure this is the right way to go?"

"Max, stop worrying! It's going to be fine."

"How can you know that? You read minds, not the future."

Radio silence.

"...Wait...Ange, honey, is there something you're not telling me?" There better not be. They had been through this before.

"Max, it's cool. Chill," Total spoke up. "Let's just see where this leads us."

"I think a castle sounds awesome!" Of course. Nudge always was a romantic.

"If we all die, it's your fault," Max warned.

Of course, one of them already was. Max couldn't think about him, though.
