A/N: And I HAVE WATCHED THE MANDALORIAN! I AM... slightly disappointed. It was mostly watching a freaking giant space slug barf acidic murderous fluid and rain destruction on Tattoine.
The upside is that I got to eat two boxes of Swedish Fish and a bag of popcorn and nobody said a word.
Anyway. This one-shot is pretty out there. It's just a little follow-up to the last chapter. Hope you like it! :D
Ahsoka sneaked into the barracks. As she walked, she checked each bunk to make sure the clones were all asleep. And they were... except for one.
"Hey, kid. What are you doing up?"
Ahsoka looked up at Kix, smiled, and sat next to him on the bunk. "Anakin's gone, and I couldn't sleep. Whatcha watchin'?"
"It's a science show I found a while ago. You can stay and watch for a while if you'd like. Actually, lemme show you something." He found the same video he'd watched with Rex. "She's floating cereal in beakers of blood cells."
Ahsoka scrunched up her face. "Ew. Gross. Oh, no... wait a second..."
Kix could see her figuring it out. So close.
"No, blood cells are microscopic, Kix. Everyone knows that."
"Well, Rex didn't."
"What?"
"I told him the same thing I just told you. He fell for it."
"You're so mean." Ahsoka giggled.
"I think he agrees."
"Hey, Kix?"
"Yeah?"
"How different am I from humans?"
"Um... not terribly different."
"Oh."
"Something you need specifically?"
"Is it bad if Anakin snorts really loud in his sleep?"
Kix burst out laughing. "If it was bad, Hardcase and Fives would be dead. He's just snoring."
"Oh. 'Cause I don't make much noise in my sleep. I think."
"No, you're a very polite sleeper, I promise."
She smiled. "That..." she interrupted herself with a yawn. "That's good."
"You should sleep."
"I will if you do."
"I'll be up for hours. If you want to stay up with me, go ahead. Just not past 200, or I'll sedate you."
"Can't randomly sedate a Jedi." she mumbled sleepily. "Plus, 'm a commander."
"You keep telling yourself that."
A quiet hum was all the response he got.
He smiled as her head fell on his shoulder, then jerked up again. Every few minutes, her head would drop again, and her reaction would be slower. Finally, Kix heard the telltale purr that told him she'd fallen asleep.
"Rex. Rex, vod."
The captain rolled over and saw them. A faint smile spread across his face. "She's a brave little thing."
Kix glanced down. "Yeah. She scares me sometimes."
"She scares all of us."
They sat in silence for a moment.
"Maybe we should give her her own bunk so General Skywalker doesn't murder me."
"That... would be a good idea."
A/N: So, Ahsoka and Kix fluff? This is unheard of! Obviously not shipping, though. Does anybody actually ship it? That would be so obscure... anyway, I don't know if I like this one, but I haven't updated this book in a week! O.o I'm so sorry about that! Life is freaky... I read a book and wrote a report on it within two hours, but I'm back and kicking. So the next one may be fluff, or it may be a completely unrelated bit from Umbara. We will see... which one I finish first.
