Sookie was staring out of the balcony window at the city lights when Eric came up behind her and kissed her bare shoulder.
"What are you thinking"? He asked as he lifted his face from her shoulder.
"Everything, there is so much all at once. It's deafening". She turned and looked him in the eyes.
"Come with me". He held out his hand for her to take. She automatically took it and followed him into the bedroom of their suite.
There was a king size bed in the center of the wall that was surrounded by rose petals on the floor. There were candles lit on every hard surface around the room.
"Why, Mr. Northman, are you trying to seduce me"? She asked with a smile.
"Yes. Yes, I am". He gave a soft laugh.
"I think it is working". She turned and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Good" He placed his hands on her waist before capturing her mouth with his.
Sookie slid her hands down his shoulders and onto his chest where her fingers found the buttons of his shirts with ease. She broke the kiss and looked down to concentrate on undoing a difficult button. Eric lost patience and lowered his head in search of her mouth's warmth.
Eric then slid his hands from her waist and up Sookie's back in search of the dress's zipper. Once he found it, he quickly glided it down her backside.
Sookie broke the kiss to maneuver her arms out of the sleeves of the dress. Once the dress fell to the floor she kicked it to the side of the room before returning to the kiss.
Eric guided Sookie backwards towards the bed as she pushed his dress shirt off of his shoulders. Her legs eventually backed into the end of the bed and so she began to crawl backwards as he crawled forward.
Once Sookie's head found the bed she looked up at Eric's face. She noticed that his fangs were extended. She reached up and caressed them with her finger. He responded to her touch and her head turned automatically offering him her life source.
Eric lowered his face to her neck and gently scraped her neck with his fangs until he found his desired entry point. Without warning he bit into her skin and Sookie became undone.
"Why am I here, Pam"? Alcide asked as he entered Eric's office.
"Here is the address to land that Eric has recently purchased and the blueprints for the houses that are to be built on said land".
Alcide took the piece of paper and tubes from Pam. "Why is Eric building houses"?
"He plans to sell the home that he and I share as well as preserve his wife's home. And thus we are in need of houses. One for myself and one for Eric and his wife".
"You keep saying this funny little word after Eric's name". He sounded confused.
"Wife? I do not find that word amusing". Pam commented as she wrote the check.
"Who would be dumb enough to marry Eric Northman"?
"Sookie Stackhouse, well Sookie Northman now".
"Sookie"?!
"Yes, that is Eric's wife's name". She confirmed.
"How did I not know this"?!
"It was at the queen's home and it wasn't exactly planned in the traditional sense".
"This makes no sense". Alcide scratched his head with the blue print tube.
"Herveaux, go build houses". Pam dismissed him by handing him a check.
Eric held Sookie while she slept. He never wanted to leave that bed. He wanted to stay like that. There was no Compton, no queen, or anyone else that would try to pull them apart.
Sookie stirred in his arms and was mumbling until she wasn't. "I love you, Eric".
Eric instantly turned his head and was confused when he looked into her closed eyes. He didn't get much time to contemplate this new revelation as his phone began to ring.
"Northman" He answered his phone.
"I hope that I am interrupting". Pam replied.
"I regret to inform you that you are not".
"Eric Northman couldn't seal the deal"? Pam teased.
"Sookie is a satisfied repeat customer".
"She is asleep or not in the room, I gather"?
"She is asleep". He confessed.
"Herveaux came by Fangtasia and picked up the blueprints".
"Good, I want those houses completed as soon as possible".
"I will make sure of it. I don't want to live with the newlyweds any longer than I have too".
"Sookie told me that she loved me in her sleep".
"That doesn't count".
"Thank you, Pamela". He grumbled.
"You are welcome, master". Pam hung up the phone.
"What did Pam want"? Sookie rolled onto her back.
"Business" Eric quickly answered.
"What kind of business"? She pushed further.
"The kind that I mind".
"Ok, I see". Sookie flipped back the covers before climbing out of bed.
"Where are you going"? He asked concerned.
"Oh, to mind my business in the shower" She teased as she continued to walk into the bathroom.
"Not happening" Eric smiled before he sped from the bed and threw Sookie over his shoulder on the way to the shower.
Sookie exited the shower and picked up the towel that was on the counter to begin drying off.
Eric followed after her. "We will leave to return to Bon Temp tonight".
"So soon"? Sookie pouted as she wrapped the towel around her body.
"Yes, there are matters that need to be attended too". Eric answered as he wrapped a towel around his waist.
"I understand" She left the bathroom to get dressed for the day.
"We will take a trip as soon as things settle. Anywhere that you would like. We could even leave Louisiana". Eric teased as he followed her in the room.
"That sounds nice but you don't have too. We only agreed to date nights not trips". She replied as she pulled clothing out of her suitcase.
"Agreed"? Eric questioned.
"Yes, in the contract". She pulled on her panties.
"We are still going by that"? He asked standing next to her.
"Why wouldn't we"? She adjusted the straps on her bra.
"You're right. We didn't discuss trips in the contract". Eric walked away from her to find his clothes.
Sookie noticed a change in Eric but didn't know where it came from. She didn't think that their vampire marriage would change anything and sex was in the contract so she was at a loss.
"Mr. Northman, your car is ready" The man at the door informed him.
"Good, take the luggage".
The man left and then quickly returned with a cart to take the luggage down to the car.
"Sookie, it is time to leave". Eric called before following the hotel employee.
Sookie walked out into the living room to find that she had been left behind. She quickly went in search of Eric.
Eric was in the middle of climbing into the backseat of a town car.
"Eric, you left me". Sookie complained.
"There is nothing in the contract that states that I have to wait for you". He addressed her before he finished climbing into the car completely.
"What the fudge"? Sookie exclaimed in shock before she entered into the car to sit beside Eric.
They rode home in silence while Eric returned emails and text messages. Once they reached Eric's home. He climbed out of the car without a word to Sookie.
Bobby met them in the driveway. He unloaded the luggage while Eric went into the house without a word.
Bobby then loaded Sookie's luggage into her vehicle.
"Good evening, Ms. Stackhouse". He dismissed her before bringing Eric's luggage into the house.
"It's Mrs. Northman". She whispered before getting into her SUV and leaving the driveway.
"Where is Sookie"? Pam asked looking behind him for her.
"On her way to Bon Temp, I would assume". He answered as he walked past her to throw himself onto the couch.
"Are you going there later"? She continued questioning as she turned.
"No" Eric answered before jumping up from the couch and going into his room shutting the door behind him.
It was hard for Eric to ignore Sookie's emotions. They mirrored his own. Hurt, anger and many others.
"Why is Sookie not here"? Pam asked from the doorway.
"I offered to take her on a trip once things had settled".
"I don't see a problem". She offered.
"She informed me that we did not discuss trips in the contract and thus not necessary".
"Big problem" Pam proclaimed before sucking her lips into her mouth.
"No, problem at all, I will protect her when I feel her fear and that is all. Everything else is perks that I no longer desire".
"She is your wife". Pam pleaded.
"That is part of protecting her". Eric concluded.
Sookie climbed the steps to her house with her luggage dragging behind her. She then unlocked the door and entered.
The house was dark. She didn't bother with the lights or her luggage. She just went to bed. Human hours to keep now.
Eric sat on his throne at Fangtasia. He hadn't heard from or seen Sookie in weeks.
"Has Sookie reported for work"? He asked Pam.
"No, she has not. I have a feeling that she never will".
"Pay her a visit". Eric commanded as he walked into his office and shut the door.
"Yes, master". Pam answered quietly.
Pam drove down Sookie's driveway and parked beside her SUV. She got out of her car and shut the door behind her. She immediately felt nothing. There was a complete absence of Sookie.
Pam walked up the stairs to the front door. She turned the knob and opened the door. The luggage from New Orleans was left by the door. She stepped over the pile of mail that had been left for weeks. It was like Sookie walked in the door and then walked back out of it.
"Bobby, send a human cleaning crew to Sookie's home and bring me the checkbook.
Pam squatted down to retrieve all of the bills that were amongst the junk mail on the floor.
"Sookie, where are you"? She asked placing the bills on a nearby table and then walking towards the stairs to continue her exploration.
The bed looked like it had been slept in but not recently. All the items in the bathroom were as Sookie had left them. During Pam's investigation, her phone rang.
"Yes, master"?
"What did she have to say for herself"?
"Eric, Sookie isn't here and hasn't been since New Orleans".
"Where is she"?! He roared.
"I do not know". She answered quietly.
Eric hung up the phone and left Fangtasia for Sookie's home. When he landed, he saw Sookie's vehicle in her driveway. He looked to the house and saw that there were humans everywhere cleaning. He walked into the house to see Pam sitting at the dining room table.
"I transferred the utilities into your name. I also wrote checks to pay the unpaid balances that she left".
"Have Bobby pack everything for storage. Anything of value is to be brought to the house. All else is to be brought to the storage facility".
"Eric…" Pam tried to reach for him.
"Also have the house prepared to be uninhabited". He instructed before he left.
Eric went outside away from the house. "Sookie"! He yelled into the darkness.
There was no answer to his cry.
"Sookie"! He cried again.
A bright light appeared before him and when it faded Sookie was revealed.
"What is wrong, Eric"? Sookie asked concerned.
"You left". He answered plainly.
"Why would I stay? There was nothing here for me".
"I am here". He stated.
"You made your feelings clear".
"As did you" He defended himself.
"What is that supposed to mean"? She questioned.
"I offered you all that I have and yet you still clung to a piece of paper"! He was angry.
"You offered me nothing! The paper was all I had to cling too"!
"How can you say that I offered you nothing? I gave you my last name! I have given that to no one not even my child. You were happy at the thought of taking Compton's last name of whom he had given to a human wife before you".
"I thought he loved me! I don't know what I am to you"!
"You are my wife, my bonded, my…"
"Do you love me"? Sookie grew impatient.
"Do you love me"? He countered.
"Yes, I love you so much that it scares me that you might not love me back".
"You have nothing to fear, my love".
Sookie ran into Eric's arms. He picked her up by her waist. Her feet dangled above the ground as she kissed her Viking.
Eric put Sookie down on the ground and took her hand as they walked back to her home.
"What are you doing to my house"?
"Packing it up".
"Why"?
"I have something to show you". He picked her up and cradled her in his arms before taking to the sky.
They landed in front of Alcide pouring a cement foundation.
"I have seen cement being poured before. Does Alcided have a special technique"?
"The were is pouring the foundation to our home".
"Our home"? She questioned as he lowered her to the ground.
"Yes, you are my wife and you should live with your husband not in a house that a cemetery is all that separates you from Bill Compton".
"You are really hung up on that aren't you"?
"I don't like Compton". He admitted.
"You are so cute when you are jealous". Sookie smiled.
"I am not jealous". He demanded.
"Keep telling yourself that". She laughed.
"I will because it is the truth". He stated matter of fact.
"What is the foundation for over there"? Sookie pointed at the concrete slab further down from where they were standing.
"That will be Pamela's home".
"The little vampire is finally leaving the nest but not the tree". She wrapped her arms around Eric's arm.
"I have something". Eric pulled a small glass vile out of his pocket.
"An empty tube"? Sookie questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"That we will fill". He explained before taking Sookie's finger and pricking it with his fang then held her finger while squeezing the blood into the vile. He pricked his own finger and then let Sookie squeeze the blood from his finger into the vile.
"Fae Hybrid blood and vampire blood that seems like the makings of a storm".
Eric threw the vile into the center of the foundation.
"As long as you are by my side, I welcome the storm".
