Chapter 14: Lovestruck By Evil
At the dark, deserted island, Natasha and her clan were watching the movie that Magpie filmed while she was in Triforce. After the movie ended in almost an hour ago, the diva of darkness made an announcement to the Deadly Stars that one of the members died one or two weeks ago. According to Magpie, Marnie was eliminated and got killed off by the Duo of Justice. No one seemed to react about this situation, but they somehow seemed to care less. Marissa was the first to walk out, followed by Sirius who was very suspicious about her behavior and planned to catch up to her. Nobody wanted to stop them at all, not even Natasha nor Magpie.
Marissa kicked the door in front of her in rage. She immediately stepped on one of the flowers and crushed it with her own foot. She hated Phantom Angel so much, just like she hated her own sister, Charlene. Suddenly, Sirius stepped in and watched the furious model burst with outrage.
"You know, you shouldn't have made a scene in front of everyone, especially Mistress Natasha," said Sirius calmly, shrugging Marissa off.
"Ugh, who asked you, you bug-eyed creep?" Marissa asked, insulting her ally. "Just as you know, this has nothing to do with you! Alright?!"
"Well, well...You and I have a lot of common these days." Sirius narrowed his eyes and avoided looking at Marissa for a second.
"We certainly do not! Is this some kind of joke? Because if it is, then I'm not laughing at all!"
"It's not really a joke, okay? What I really mean to say is we both despised the angel, correct?"
"And where is this going exactly?"
Sirius told the situation to Marissa that Phantom Angel killed his older brother, just like she killed the model's younger sister with the help of Masked Swordmaster. From some time ago, the entertainer was fighting against the angel inside of the museum. What he didn't realized was the white knight appeared out of nowhere and started to attack him. When he was down, he started to notice that Phantom Angel's savior was protecting her as always. Sirius thought that he might have a wrong idea, but he came to realize that the dynamic duo were secretly in love with each other. That would've been the case of why they're fighting alongside with each other. Then, he made a scoff at his theory while Marissa, on the other hand, should've noticed that sooner. If what his theory was true, then she must find a way to tear the Duo of Justice apart.
"Sirius, thank you for pointing that out..." said Marissa, as she was finally calmed down and walked back to the house. "I think I've got an idea about this..."
"Um...y-you're welcome?" Sirius stammered, as he has no idea of what his ally was getting at.
At the island of Triforce, Isabelle was watering her flower and Tom Nook was doing some research on his laptop. She sighed very softly while she was glancing at him. Then, she looked through the window and saw Vicki and Robert holding hands while they were walking together. She didn't get or hear of what they were saying, but she was still watching the lovely human couple.
"Hey Robert, do you know what tomorrow it is?" Vicki asked happily.
"Tomorrow? Ah, let's see..." Robert replied, as he was starting to think before he could respond. "Oh right! Tomorrow's Valentine's Day, right?"
"Yep, that's right! I'll give you something very special by tomorrow. You'll have to wait and see!"
"Whoa! Very special, huh? I'll give you an extra special Valentine's Day gift! You'll be very surprised!"
"Whoa ho! This should be very interesting!"
While Vicki and Robert were still having a conversation outside, Isabelle was still looking at them happily. She really wished that she and Tom Nook would be happily together, just like Vicki and Robert were. But now, she didn't know of what to do since tomorrow was Valentine's Day.
Vicki and Robert were sitting on the bench side by side. He put one of his arms around her while she was cuddling him. Finally, they were kissing each other on a beautiful day. All of the sudden, Sammy and Jimmy were walking past them and started to get annoyed when they saw them kissing.
"Hey you two, get a room already!" said Sammy sarcastically.
"Yeah, get a room already!" Jimmy repeated.
"Oh, shut up!" said Vicki and Robert in unison.
"But anyways, do any of you know what tomorrow it is?" Vicki asked, while Sammy and Jimmy shook their heads in response. "Tomorrow's Valentine's Day, duh!"
After Sammy and Jimmy heard Vicki's response, they both bawled and wailed at the same time as they kept on walking. Vicki had no idea of what's wrong with them, but Robert seemed to know the answer.
"Um, Vicki, you seemed to be forgetting something..." Robert explained, as he tried to remind his girlfriend. "Sammy and Jimmy don't have any girlfriends yet. I bet that's why they don't like Valentine's Day very much as far as I'm concern."
"Oh right, I nearly forgot about that..." said Vicki. "But oh well, I'm pretty sure that they'll pull themselves together."
"Yeah, you said it..."
Later in the evening, Vicki was walking to the store to buy something. Isabelle happened to leave the Resident Services for just a bit when she immediately saw her passing by. She quickly stopped her tracks and wanted her advice about something.
"Hey Vicki, wait up!" Isabelle called. "There's something I need to ask you, and I really need your help..."
"Oh, what is it, Isabelle?" Vicki asked.
Isabelle started to explain the situation to Vicki about Tom Nook. In her honest way, she had a difficult time expressing her feelings toward him. Now, she has no idea of what to do since she couldn't tell him in a right time of how she felt about him. Vicki knew that she was in the same situation as Isabelle; she started to express her feelings toward Robert after they first met and revealed their secret identities back in StarLily one year ago. Although, nobody knew the secret identities of the Duo of Justice, except for their younger siblings, best friends, and Katrina who was the only animal who knew all about this. That's how Vicki realized about this, but to put that aside, she tried to help Isabelle as she could after the female dog explained the situation to her.
"Well, that explains your problem, huh?" Vicki muttered. "I know! Since tomorrow's Valentine's Day, why not give Tom Nook something like some chocolates or whatever?"
"Ah, you know, it's not a bad idea after all..." Isabelle agreed. "So, I'll give it my best shot!"
The next day, which it turned out to be Valentine's Day, Tom Nook went outside to find some fresh flowers for a certain someone in his own mind. While he was doing that, someone pulled a trigger and shot him with the tranquilizer. As soon as he passed out, Marissa took a closer look at the racoon. Few seconds later, he opened his eyes and saw the charming model. He was somehow under her spell and was forced to fall in love with her.
"Hello beautiful, yes yes..." said Tom Nook, in a monotone voice. "I'm always in your debt..."
What do you know? Marissa thought. It worked, like a charm! Now then...If only this certain someone is here, he will become my main target, and I'll make sure to use it on him though!
Vicki immediately stopped by at Robert's house and knocked on the door. She brought some flowers and chocolates in the basket for him on Valentine's Day. As soon as the island representative answered the door, he let his girlfriend in and spent their time together during the very special day.
"I've got something for you, Robert!" said Vicki happily, as she gave the basket of flowers and some chocolates to him. "Here you go!"
"Ah, thanks a lot, Vicki!" said Robert happily. "Anyways, I have something for you as well. I'll be right back!"
Robert rushed to his bedroom while Vicki was sitting on the couch, waiting for him. As soon as he came back, he brought a large teddy bear, along with the bouquet of flowers. She was extremely surprised as ever; and this was the best Valentine's Day gift she ever had from her boyfriend.
"Oh my goodness, Robert!" said Vicki surprisingly. "This is incredible! I love it! You have my biggest thanks!"
"Well, I knew you would be in a big surprise, Vicki!" said Robert, winking at her.
Vicki and Robert hugged each other and finally gave kisses on their lips. Then, he served hot chocolate and a slice of chocolate cake for themselves. After they spent their quality time together, Robert helped Vicki carried her gifts to her house. They've gotten everything under control, and she immediately closed the door behind her. Suddenly, they heard the commotion that was coming from the side of the island. They immediately heard someone sobbing, so they checked it out to see of who it was. When they found out that it was Isabelle who bent down on her knees, she was sad that her eyes started to weep.
"I-Isabelle, is something the matter?" Vicki asked.
"E-Everything went shattered...just like my-my heart breaks so fast..." Isabelle wailed.
"W-What do you mean by that?" Robert asked.
Isabelle sputtered. "Y-You see...T-Tom Nook has no interest in me...I-Instead, h-he's taking the liking of some...g-g-girl!"
"Wait, what girl?" Vicki asked suspiciously.
Before Isabelle tried to respond, Vicki and Robert saw Sammy and Jimmy hooking up with the attractive lady who appeared to be Marissa in disguise. The twins were drooling all over her while they were enchanted by her love spell. As soon as she glanced at the duo, the model was locking up at Robert who might be her next target. Vicki was disgusted by the looks of Marissa while Robert was eyeing on her in a very suspicious way. Isabelle found it very disturbing and had gotten very angry all of the sudden.
"Y-Y-You two-timing sick puppy!" Isabelle shouted angrily at Marissa, as she stood up and headed back to Resident Services. "Grr! What did she have that I don't?!"
"Gee, I've never seen Isabelle being so angry before, do you?" Robert asked.
"No, not really..." Vicki answered. "But I have a funny feeling about this girl, and I don't like it at all!"
"And how can you tell?"
"I can smell love magic from her, that's how! Come on, it's time to break this love spell once and for all! Otherwise, she's going to ruin everyone's Valentine's Day, that's for sure!"
Vicki and Robert started to transform into their heroic versions. The dynamic duo were rushing to find Marissa who put Tom Nook, Sammy, and Jimmy under the spell. As soon as they found her, Phantom Angel kicked her from behind and Marissa got splashed into the ocean. The evil model got out of the water and started to glare at them.
"Hey Marissa, reverse the spell on them at once!" said Phantom Angel in determination.
"That's right, we don't know how you cast the spell, but all we know is you did something terrible to them, didn't you?" Masked Swordmaster exclaimed.
"Yeah, you made a lucky guess anyways, pretty boy," said Marissa. "But I might as well reverse the spell on them since they're now useless to me."
Marissa immediately reversed the spell on Tom Nook, Sammy, and Jimmy; and they're now back to normal. The Duo of Justice wouldn't believe their eyes that she actually did it. Although, the evil model has a few tricks up in her sleeves that they weren't aware of just yet. There must've been some reason why she was doing this in the first place.
"I've never realized Marissa's giving up so easily..." said Masked Swordmaster. "We happened to stop her plan too quickly, huh?"
"Oh, I wouldn't be so sure about that," said Phantom Angel, reassuring her ally. "I have a suspicious feeling that she's up to something, and I really hate it!"
"Well, it looks like one of you read my mind already," said Marissa, as she was pulling the trigger and aimed at one of the Duo of Justice.
When the tranquilizer was aiming straight at Phantom Angel, Masked Swordmaster quickly pushed her aside. He suddenly got a direct hit and felt the pain on his back. One second later, he was now under Marissa's love spell and started to obey her commands. Phantom Angel wouldn't believe her eyes that the evil model was taking full control of him.
"Ah, my sweet beloved Marissa, you're the most beautiful lady I've ever laid eyes on..." Masked Swordmaster sighed, while he was enchanted by Marissa's love spell.
"Ah yes, this is perfect; and you're the one who I really wanted!" said Marissa charmingly. "It's about time you took a bait! Ha ha, take that, Charlene! Now, I'm the fairest of them all!"
"Um...what?" Phantom Angel asked, being confused.
"I finally have one of the Duo of Justice under my spell, it's time to destroy the other one! So...are you quivering now, Phantom Angel? Because you should be, and your life is about to end now!"
Phantom Angel tilted her head and stared blankly at her enemy. "...Huh?"
"Just shut up and paid attention already, angel face! I'll have your 'former' ally kill you anyways! Oh, my beloved, brave knight, it's time to break this angel's heart by destroying her now!"
"Your wish is my command, my dear..." said Masked Swordmaster obediently, as he took out his sword and was ready to attack Phantom Angel.
"W-Wait, what now?!" Phantom Angel panicked, as she immediately dodged Masked Swordmaster's attack. "Okay, this is seriously getting out of hand now! Marissa really did cast him under her spell, and it's disgusting that I feel like I wanted to puke!"
Marissa laughed. "What's the matter, Phantom Angel? Why aren't you fighting back? Oh, that's right! You're afraid to fight him, is it? Afraid to fight against your boyfriend, am I correct?"
Phantom Angel was shocked after she listened to what Marissa was saying. The angel was curious of how the evil model knew that she and Masked Swordmaster were secretly in love with each other. There's no way she could've figured it out so sudden. But Phantom Angel refused to resist, even her tears fell from her eyes, which it reminded Isabelle feeling so depressed when she was heartbroken. Unlike Tom Nook's assistant, the masked angel wanted to stay strong and keep fighting in order to break Marissa's love spell from Masked Swordmaster somehow.
"No, I can't let Marissa ruined Valentine's Day, not like this..." Phantom Angel muttered to herself. "Only I will save Valentine's Day, that's my mission! But I need a diversion and quick!"
Phantom Angel used her heart staff to block Masked Swordmaster's attacks. She quickly avoided him and tried to defend herself of all costs. As soon as she was approaching to the lake, she immediately shoved the brainwashed white knight into the lake and apologized to him right away. Then, she used her tiara and threw it at Marissa so she deserved a shockwave. When the evil model was turned into a crisp, the angel used her ultimate attack to banish her forever.
After Marissa was destroyed by Phantom Angel, Masked Swordmaster was freed from the evil model's love spell. He got out from the lake and ended up getting wet. He nearly forgot about what happened to himself, but he didn't seemed to care at all. Phantom Angel was glad that he's back to normal and Valentine's Day was finally saved.
In the evening, Tom Nook gave Isabelle a huge bouquet of flowers and the chocolate heart. She was very surprised that he gave her a special Valentine's Day gifts and completely forgot about what happened from before. Then, she shyly gave him the chocolate cake and the Valentine's Day card in return. Tom Nook read the card and was touched by her own words. Isabelle twirled her paws while she was blushing without looking straight to his eyes. The racoon immediately gave the dog a slice of chocolate cake while he was blushing, and she accepted it. They ate the chocolate cake together during the night of Valentine's Day.
Meanwhile, Phantom Angel and Masked Swordmaster were sitting on the rooftop without anyone noticing them, not even Sammy and Jimmy would spot them. They would've shared the remaining chocolate cake from before, but instead, they shared the chocolate heart candies. According to the white knight, what happened to the chocolate cake was he found the guardians finished up the whole cake. It really pissed him off that they never left him a single slice or two. That's why he ended up serving chocolate candies along with the hot cocoa.
"Well, who would've blame the guardians for eating the rest of the cake?" Phantom Angel asked, taking one bite of her candy.
"I do, but I mostly blamed on Wisp since he's the hungriest one out of all three guardians!" Masked Swordmaster replied harshly. "I don't know why he came to my house in the first place! Perhaps, he has a prefect sense of smell!"
"Just forget about that starving ghost guardian and enjoy our Valentine's Day together already! Besides, we only have about two or three hours left, right?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right about that. Ahem, happy Valentine's Day, Vicki!"
"Happy Valentine's Day to you, too, Robert!"
The dynamic duo were sitting closer to each other and started to have a romantic kiss on a beautiful night. That way, they would always remain together forever without anyone or anything that would tear them apart.
