Mama smiled as she heard Sota laughing from the living room, the sound of their strange videos blared from his computer. She had peeked out of the kitchen, and even though he did not laugh, Sesshomaru had a smile on his face. She had made the right decision. She went back to the kitchen table and sat down to read. She wouldn't interrupt them. Meanwhile the two in the living room had just finished their tenth video of the madman.

"What is with this mans obsession with eggs?"

"No one knows. It just sorta of became his thing over time."

"I am still in disbelief he destroys his own home and belongings for popularity."

"You would be surprised what people will do for attention."

"Hnn."

"Well my brain is absolutely fried, how about you?"

"Agreed, I do not think I can mentally handle watching another one of this mans antics."

"Alright! Lets play a game then!"

Sota closed his computer, set it on the table, and rushed over to the TV. He pulled out a large square device, fiddled with it for a moment, and grabbed one more strange looking object, before hopping back on the couch. He handed Sesshomaru the smaller one, while he held the large one and turned on the TV. The screen turned colorful and began to show an assortment of cartoonish people fighting. Words flew onto the screen, Super Smash Bros.

"I figured since your such a great fighter back in your time, you might like a fighting game."

"Hnn. This is acceptable. How does one play?"

It was sun set by the time Inuyasha and Kagome returned. They hadn't meant to stay so long, but a demon had attacked and injured a few villagers. Kagome had insisted on staying to tend to their wounds first. Inuyasha leapt from the well with Kagome on his back, and they made for the house. They both were worried about the demon that had been confined to the house. Stuck in the house all day, what would his metal state be like. Kagomes main worry was depression, Inuyashas was him lashing out. Either or, they both agreed that until Sesshomaru was home, and back in his comfort zone, that they had to be gentle with the Daiyokai. Kagome opened the front door, and shouting assaulted both the priestess and Hanyos ears.

"Hes gonna flank you dodge it!"

"I am aware."

"He missed his attack! Grab him and send him flying!"

"That was the plan."

The two rushed in the house to see what all Sotas shouting was about. Sitting on the couch were Sota and Sesshomaru, both had their eyes glued to the TV. Kagome recognized the game on the screen as Smash Bros. What surprised her though, was that it wasn't Sota playing, but Sesshomaru. She watched, as the characters she recognized as a Link and Bowser, duked it out a flat, colorful battle field. Bowser slid in from the side, and Link jumped to dodge it, landing right behind the spiked turtle.

"Oh get him!"

Link then hit Bowser with a power strike, and sent him flying off the side of the field. Cheering played from the game as it cut to the winner screen, and Sota cheered as the two high fived.

"Yeah you kicked all of their asses!"

"Sota, language."

Mamas scolding voice came from the other side of the couch where she sat. Grampa was also looking at the boy disapprovingly from his chair in the corner.

"Sorry mama."

"What are you guys doing?"

"Sis your back!"

Sota jumped up and ran to give his sister and Inuyasha a hug.

"Mama let me stay home from school today, and Sesshomaru and I have been playing Smash! We're playing in the world wide tier, I got knocked out pretty fast but Sesshomaru is a beast with Link! He only just learned the controls this morning and hes already better than me! Isn't that awesome!"

"I do not believe to be better than you, my skills with this game have only improved because of your guidance. Do not forget that this morning it was you, who were handing my ass to me."

"Sesshomaru, language."

"My apologies, Ms. Higurashi."

Kagome couldn't help but smile. It looks like mama and Sota had taken an extra step to keep Sesshomaru distracted today. And it looked like it had worked, Sesshomaru had such a happy expression on his face. She could think of only one thing to increase his mood. She opened up her phone, and flipped to a picture she had taken a few hours ago in the feudal era.

"Sesshomaru."

He looked over his shoulder as Kagome leaned over the couch and handed him her phone. She saw his expression turn soft as he looked at the picture. It was Rin, with the one of the biggest smiles hes seen on her. Jaken was right next to her, looking into the camera was confusion. But what got him was what she was holding. She was holding a painting of a daisy she had made. Daisies were her favorite flower, and she was always bringing them to him. He had one day, insisted that she draw him a daisy instead of picking so many for him. And soon, that just became a norm for them. He handed the phone back to Kagome, and gave her a small smile, before turning back to the TV.

"So now that you two are back, how does everyone feel about ramen for dinner? The stand in town has the best ramen around, I can go order some take out and bring it back for us to eat."

A cheer of approval roared from just about everyone. Sesshomaru frowned however.

"I have never had ramen."

"Oh man, you gotta, its the best!"

"Inuyasha is right! Its great!"

"Very well, I shall try some."

"That's wonderful dear, and I'll make sure to ask that they don't put any meat in yours, since cooked meat makes you sick."

"Wait, cooked meat makes you sick?"

"It does, Inuyasha."

"Wow, bummer."

"Ok, Kagome and Sota, can you come with me to help carry the food home? Gramps and Inuyasha dear, you can stay here with Sesshomaru."

"Kay mama"

"Ok."

"Keh don't know why I gotta babysit, but whatever."

"Maybe I'm the one babysitting, Hanyo."

"You wanna say that again..."

Inuyasha leapt on the couch and was inches away from his brother. They both glared at each other, and let out low growls. A loud clap caught the two demons attention. Mama was looking at them disapprovingly.

"Now now, no fighting while we're gone. You are grown demons, you can behave yourselves for half an hour cant you?"

"Hnn."

"Yeah ok."

She smiled, and clapped her hands together.

"Good. Be back soon."

The three walked out the door, and left the two demons, and the elderly human alone in the living room. They continued to glare at one another, and to Inuyashas surprise, it was Sesshomaru who broke eye contact first. He turned the TV off, and leaned back into the couch with folded arms. He stared off into space with a sour expression, while Inuyasha continued to watch him. It wasn't long before an annoyed growl filled the room.

"Don't you have anything better to do than to stare at me."

"I'm trying to figure you out."

"What is there to figure out."

"Five minutes ago, you were all cheerful and stuff, and now your acting like an ass. I don't get it."

"Five minutes ago, you were not here."

"KEH! What's wrong with me being here?"

"You smell."

Inuyasha nearly lost his balance from his crouching position on the couch. He stared at his brother in bewilderment.

"I sm...I SMELL!? Your depressed because I smell bad!? The hell man!?"

Sesshomaru scoffed in irritation and turned to glare at his brother, his mouth engaging before his brain did.

"Yes Inuyasha, you smell, you smell Like Rin, you smell like Jaken...you smell like home..."

Inuyashas ears went flat against his head as Seshomaru folded his arms and turned away from him. Well fuck.

"Sesshomaru..I didn't-"

A sutra was suddenly slapped onto Sesshomarus forehead and Sesshomaru didn't even try to stifle the loud groan that came from him. He didn't bother to remove it, as he glared at the man from behind the paper.

"Elder, we have been through this..."

"Cmon gramps, I'm all for tormenting him, but now's not the time..."

"You misunderstand, this sutra is not to expel demons, but to bring about happiness and good luck. Now stop your moaning about being sad, and go jump in the well and return home."

A dark chuckle left Sesshomarus lips. He tore off the paper, and shred it with his claws. Whatever spark of hope there had been in his eyes was all gone, now nothing but a icy cold look remained.

"As I've stated before, your sutras hold no power. You wish me to stop complaining about my predicament? Fine I shall remain silent. You want me to go jump in the well, fine, I'll sleep down there tonight. Anything else you request of me? Humans after all rule this land now, why should the last of the demons try to defy them?"

Sesshomaru hadn't realized he had leaned in so close to the elder, he hadn't realized he now griped the collar of the mans shirt in his hands, he hadn't seen the pure look of terror cross the old mans face, until he had realized what he had done. He quickly released the elder, and the man backed away from him.

"Geezz Sesshomaru, chill, he was only trying to help."

Inuyasha was now standing behind him. Sesshomarus eyes darkening more once he realized his brothers hand was loosely gripping Tessigas hilt. His brother quickly removed his hand from the sword, but the intent had already been seen.

"Draw your sword then, I do not care anymore. Id rather be cut down by you, than be stuck in a world ruled by humans, a world without demons."

"You won't be stuck here forever, we WILL find a way to get you back home."

Sesshomaru now stood, facing his brother, his hands balled into fists.

"You keep saying that, every day you and your priestess say the same thing. I have heard you speak to one another. Both of you claiming to be at a loss, having said we've tried everything. Why do you insist on lying to me"

"Oh, so you've eavesdropped on us? Vey classy Sesshomaru."

"You speak of class, yet you have been lying to your own brother!"

"Hey don't you dare call me a liar!"

"I call them as I see them, you filthy half breed!"

Inuyasha hadn't meant to. It happened so fast. His mind didn't even register what he had done, until he had done it. And now all he could do was stare at his brother in shock an horror, as blood ran down the claw marks across his face. What's worse, Sesshomaru didn't even try to avoid the attack. They stared into each others eyes as silence fell over them. There was no anger in his brothers eyes, nor was there joy, nor sorrow. There was nothing, his eyes were that of a broken demon, longing for nothing more than to return home. Sesshomaru broke eye contact first, and let his gaze fall to the floor.

"Sesshomaru...I..."

Sesshomaru slowly turned and headed for the front door.

"Hey wait, where are you going?"

"To the well house. I believe a request was made for me to go jump down a well. Maybe I'll break my legs this time around."

Inuyasha couldn't seem to find any words to say to him as he slowly put on his boots and quietly walked out the front door, closing it behind him. He let out a sigh and slapped himself upside the head. I can't believe I attacked him like that...stupid... He turned to look at grandpa, and to his surprise, he was cowering away, from him.

"Gramps...I didn't mean to..."

"Y-your eyes."

Oh no. He turned to look at the blank TV screen, and his eyes widened. His normal golden eyes, were now blood red, and his irises, deep blue slits. Purple stripes now slashed across his cheeks. He had partially transformed, even with Tessaiga at his side. Fuck.
