Chapter 16: Intro To Physics
Batman and the Frozen Cast arrived back at the orphanage for the next puzzle room. They all got out of the Batmobile and went back inside the building. "What do you guys think it's gonna be this time?", Olaf asked his allies. "I don't know, Olaf. Let's just be prepared for anything Nygma throws at us.", Jacob said. They got to the room where the two girls were who were presently just standing around and seemed really glad when they first saw their friends. "How are you both doing?", Batman asked them. "Well, can't fault the entertainment. Eddie just lectured us on the thirteen innovations that let him pack these collars with his custom-designed plastic explosive.", Catwoman said. "I was wondering if he would ever end up shutting his mouth!", Anna said. "You guys must be honored.", Batman said. "At being what-your motivation? Come on, the next puzzle room is waiting.", Catwoman said. The heroes then walked through the door that was labeled "Intro to Physics". The room had an electric floor right beneath their feet as well as something more in front of them. Riddler came up on the wall and said, "Greetings, my contestants! Your next challenge is simple: guide an electric charge to its destination. I hope the varying amounts of PRESSURE don't get to you.", Riddler explained and then went off. Anna just rolled her eyes and said, "Another one? What's this guy's problem anyway?". "Fanatic narcissism, ego centrism, and megalomania crossed with severe obsessive compulsion.", Batman answered her. Anna was a little caught off guard with that answer and said, "Uh, thanks.". "Don't mention it.", Batman said. Riddler came on again and said, "I'm going to have to ask you to sit out on this one, Dark Knight. I realize I haven't allowed your frosty female friend to participate too much, but I thought that this should be an act of sisterly teamwork. Anna, Elsa, would you do the honors of guiding this electric charge? And no help from the Detective!", Riddler said. Batman looked at the two sisters and said, "You two have got this. You'll be fine.". "He's right. Show Riddler that he's the stupid one!", Jacob told the girls. Elsa and Anna looked at each other for a second and nodded to each other. "Let's do this, sis!", Anna said. "Agreed!", Elsa said. Both sisters stepped on one of the pressure pads in order for things to go the way they're supposed to. A question mark lit up right next to Elsa as soon as pressure was put on both pads. Elsa hit the light with an icicle that she shot from her hands in order to get it started. Then, a charge was clearly shown starting to go through the electric tubes. Elsa just stayed on her pad as the charge passed through the tube and the charge then went over to Anna. Anna stayed on her pad as the charge went by her in the tube while Elsa went to the pad on the other side of Anna before the charge got there. Elsa then realized that just her weight wasn't enough to raise the tube high enough. In response to this, she said to her sister, "Anna, come over to this pad. It's going to need both of us for this tube to make it up there.". Anna did as she was asked and they both stood on the same pad together while Elsa moved over a bit for there to be enough room. They both stood there until the charge went through the tube that was raised due to both of their weights. "Okay, I'm going to go over to that one now.", Elsa said. "Okay.", Anna said. As soon as Elsa got off, the tube went all the way down to the bottom which is where the charge was going. Elsa got on the pad Anna was on, which raised the tube back to where it was before. As soon as the charge passed through Anna's tube, she went over all the way to the other end and stood on the pad down there. But it still was not enough weight to raise the tube where it's supposed to let the charge pass through. Elsa went over to put her weight along with her sister's on the pad as soon as the charge passed through Elsa's tube. After the charge passed through that one, it found its way to its destination and the challenge was completed. "Nice job, guys!", Sven cheered. "Yay! They did it!", Olaf cheered. Riddler came on again and said, "Congratulations, sisters. Your key awaits. But what's this, an electrified floor?". As soon as he said that, the floor below them became electrified which prevented them from getting the key. "Damn! Now what?", Anna said. "I think someone has to jump and hit that pressure pad right there.", Jacob said and pointed to the pad that was on a pillar right across from them. Catwoman looked at Batman and said, "You do it, you still owe me after Arkham City.". "Fair enough.", Batman said. He was just about to jump before Olaf stepped in front of him and said, "Hold on, Batman. I go this.". Olaf then jumped onto the pillar and stood on the pressure pad. As soon as he stood on it, the electricity on the floor disappeared and all was fine. "Nice job, Olaf! Let's go get it now!", Anna said. They all jumped down onto the formerly electrified floor and started to make their way towards the key that seemed to be willingly up for grabs, but they all felt Riddler had another trick up his sleeves before they were able to get it. "Goodness, you've figured it out already! Well, you better grab that key and be on your way.", Riddler said as they continued to move closer towards the key. "I got a bad feeling about this, guys!", Kristoff said. Then all of a sudden as they were almost at the key, robots popped out from the wall and began crawling towards them. "Ha! And that bad feeling ended up becoming true, my dimwitted blonde friend. Now, enjoy some more of my robots!", Riddler said. The heroes then began to battle more of Riddler's creations so that they could get the next key. Olaf just sat and watched the action as he was still on the pressure pad so the floor wouldn't become electrified again. "All the danger of battle combined with all the fun of riddle solving! You can thank me after.", Riddler said as the fight kept going on. Within a few minutes, all the robots were destroyed and they were able to get the key. After all the robots were destroyed, Riddler said, "You know what, Batman? I'm glad you solved this riddle. Because it takes you one step closer to the riddle that kills you!". They all went over to the next key. Catwoman scratched open the glass and grabbed it. She first used it on herself and then gave it to Anna. Anna then used it on herself and then threw it aside. "Eddie really hates you doesn't he?", Catwoman asked Batman. "He's an ego-driven narcissist who can't let anyone else win.", Batman told her. "Gee, if only you'd met under different circumstances.", Catwoman said. "His obsession's getting worse. He's going after my allies.", Batman said as he first looked at Selina and then the others. "Ally? After this I think we should dial it back to "known associate" for a while.", Catwoman said. The heroes all went back into the main room of the orphanage. As soon as they got back in the room, Riddler came on the wall yet again. "This was nothing, Dark Knight, nothing! A new trial awaits you and your friends by Divinity Church. And I'm waiting too.", he said before he went off. "Jesus! How much longer are we gonna keep doing this?!", Catwoman said. "As long as it takes to get you and Anna out of here safely, as well as apprehending Riddler.", Batman answered her. "Thanks. That sure helped a lot.", she said sarcastically. All but the two hostages left the orphanage to go down to the next trial.
