Chapter 16

All of the police crew had left and cleaned up the crime scene. Cara was sitting at her desk going through her paperwork they have sent to her. She took a sip of her coffee reading through things in detail. Cara didn't have to look over when Spike was next to her. She already would know when he was close to her. "What is it?" Spike asked her sitting next to her.

"I've made some calls, he's been killing in the daylight. His powers are weaker in the day than at night, it's something to do with the sun. We need something pretty advanced to kill him," Cara looked at him.

"Do we know anyone?"

"That's on Wes," Cara replied. They were alone for once in the office, Spike leaned in kissing her lips a moment. Her arms wrapped around his neck kissing him back.

"Do you want to elope?" He asked her.

"What?"

"Marry me," he looked at her.

That caught her off guard knowing she had mentioned it to him before. "I don't want to force you into this," Cara said worried.

"You're not,I'm wanting to so either if you're my mate or married it's the same thing to me," he explained.

"Yes, I will," she looked at him. He stood up lifting her kissing her happy that she accepted.

It was brief and they were able to find ways to make it work. Her brother knew a lot of people that knew how to make this legal. It didn't take long to do knowing they weren't going to do anything big. Angel knew they were going to be gone getting everything done but didnt realize it took three hours.

When things were done, both of them came back to the office. Angel looked up at them both seeing them walking into his office. "Sorry," Cara apologized.

"So what's happened?"

"It worked, it's legal, and I took his last name. Angel looked down noticing they jhad matching white gold bands on.

"Congrats you too," Angel said hugging her and patting Spike's back.

"Quick easy no big ceremony," Cara replied.

"Less stressful that way pet." Spike held her hand. "I'm going to have to get use to you being my wife."

They left the room while Angel took a phone call. "Now, you're stuck with me," she kissed him briefly.

He smiled at that looking into her eyes. "I love you," he said holding her. Spike pulled her in a hug closing his eyes thankful that she is in his life.

She pulled back to look at him. "I love you too."

"Hey love birds, welcome to the family," Derek said coming up to Spike hugging him unexpectedly. Spike was caught off guard patting his back thanking him.

"You can help what little stuff he has into the apartment that I'm having my stuff moved to. I found a new place, just as big and I made sure all the windows had blinds," Cara explained.

"Who's moving it for you?" Derek asked.

"I hired movers, all the other stuff I need to go by and grab." Cara said not looking forward to it.

"I can help out getting the rest of the stuff," Spike looked at her.

"We can do that, the new place is closer to here," Cara replied.

Night time had arrived, Derek along with Angel and Wes helped them move their stuff to the new place. It seemed quicker since there wasn't too much stuff. Cara had the most with her clothes, shoes, and other things. She would put things away as they brought the boxes in one by one. Once they got things in, they helped unpack putting things putting them away. The bigger furniture was already in the place. Cara put new bed sheets on the bed, so they could sleep there. Spike was busy helping the guys unpack some of his stuff and hers.

They got most of the stuff done stopping sitting on the couch. Derek brought beer for everyone to drink. Cara didn't want one feeling tired lying on Spike's lap. She felt his arm rest on her while she listened to everyone talk.

"I know someone that may be able to help with Drake," Wes replied.

Cara's phone rang and she put it on speaker" Yeah?"

"You best friend got into trouble, we suspect he's up to something," her body explained.

"You mean Carlos the suppose ex gang member? Where is he?" Cara asked him.

"He's a few blocks away at some bar people were complaining he may be dealing." Cara sat up grabbing her shoes throwing them on. She hung up grabbing her badge and gun.

"You going to be alright?" Angel asked her.

"Yeah," Cara looked at him.

"I'll go with her," Spike said grabbing his jacket following her out.

They walked to the bar not too far away. Spike held the door open for her having her walk in first. She spotted the guy right away noticing something different about him. He was dressed in the same gangster outfit talking to people. "Carlos, what are you doing buddy?" Cara questioned him.

He turned to look at her assuming Spike was just her partner. "Hey baby doing good here," he looked at her.

"You dealing again?"

"Nah just chillin," he answered her going back to the women.

Spike got close to Cara. "He's a vampire now looking to feed," Spike said to her.

"Something was different about him." They stood there a moment watching him guide a woman out the back door. Spike took her hand guiding her out the back door. They could hear him in a dark with the woman. Then the lady started to scream and Spike grabbed him from behind throwing him against the wall.

The girl got away running the other direction. "You just ruin it," his faced turned. Carlos went to fight Spike and he swung at him. Spike blocked him able to punch him across the face. The guy tried to pull out a knife to stab him. Spike was strong enough to grab it out of his hand kicking him away from him. Then stabbing him with his knife as he withered to nothing. Another vampire appeared behind Cara causing her to turn around kicking him away from her. The vampire swung at her and she ducked causing him to miss.

Spike tossed her the knife, Cara caught it driving it in his chest. They heard the sirens causing them to leave quickly heading back home. Cara found the door key under the mat letting themselves in. Spike shut the door behind them removing his jacket. Cara picked up the empty beer bottles tossing them in the trash can.

Cara had turned around and Spike had already removed his shirt still wearing his pants. She went to walk past him and he grabbed her hand. "What?" She looked at him.

He leaned in kissing her deeply pulling her close to him. She pulled back breathing heavily looking at him. "What are you doing?" She looked at him.

"Wanting you," he leaned kissing her again. She felt her pants being tugged at and fall to the ground. Within a matter of seconds, he was already on top of her with nothing on kissing down her chest pulling off her underwear. He immediately slid inside her riding her while he kissed her. He started to move in deeper and harder as he heard her moans of pleasure coming from her lips.

"All mine," he whispered in her ear. He sat her up on top of him allowing her to me his thrusts. Their moans filled the room more so hers than his as they made love.

When they finished she laid there holding him. "You're amazing love, just trying to keep up," he kissed her cheek.

"You just know how to get me in the mood." She kissed him a moment.

"You just make me want it more my love," he held her.

"I think Angel wants us to go out and investigate tomorrow night. Hopefully, we can figure out something against Drake." Cara said lying there.

"I won't let him hurt you," Spike looked at her.

"I know." Her hand rubbed along his face as he laid there looking at her. They eventually fell asleep and the night had come and gone.

The next morning they got up getting ready as usual and heading up to the office when they finished. Cara walked with Spike keeping him covered in the daylight with a sheet until they made it in the building. They came in the back seeing a few men standing there talking to Angel out in the open.

Caraline went to walk that direction, Spike stopped her a second. "Werewolfs," he said looking at them.

"What are they doing here?"

"I don't know," he stared at them cautiously. Cara walked over to Angel and the men looked at her right away.

"Angel, what's going on?" Cara came up to her with Spike next to her.

"They have been looking for Drake as well. He murdered a few of their men," Angel explained.

"Are they like Oz? Do they need to be put away in a kennel?" Spike looked at Angel.

"They are different." Angel looked at him.

"Drake for some reason has been looking for me," Cara said to them.

"Not if we hunt him down first," the guy standing in the middle replied.

"He's difficult to kill, a stake doesn't work," Cara explained.

"Whatever it is we want in."

"You got a name?"

"Marcus," he replied.

"I thought you guys hated vampires at least thats what they always put it as. You guys against them." Cara looked at them.

"Not really, unless they give us a reason."

"You know Angel?" Cara questioned them.

"Yeah we have ran into him from time to time." Marcus was attractive, he had blue eyes and brown hair. He was built like Angel wearing jeans and a blue short sleeve shirt.

Spike stared at them closely not sure if he should trust them or not. "You guys know Spike?" Cara looked back at him.

"Heard of him."

"Doesn't surprise me," Spike replied.

"These guys can help," Angel looked at Cara.

Derek came in seeing them all standing there. "Who are these guys?"

"Werewolves," Spike answered him.

"I thought they don't like vampires," Derek said confused.

"A little different situation here," Angel looked at him. The guys noticed Derek talking to them not phased by him at all. Derek stood next to Cara listening to Angel talk to them. Things seemed to be ok so far while they discussed things.

"That guy is so checking you out," Derek whispered to her.

"Who?"

"The guy Angel is talking to."

"He is not," she whispered back to Derek.

"Oh come on I saw it," Derek argued with her keeping his voice down.

Spike looked over seeing them bickering at each other. He never understood why they argued a lot but he never had a sibling.

The guys quit talking seeing both Cara and Derek arguing. "Will you two knock it off?" Angel said shutting them up.

"He started it," Cara blamed Derek.

"They are siblings," Angel assured the guys.

"Sorry my brother is a shit head," Cara apologized. Derek glared at her standing there annoyed.

The guys snickered at that admiring her sense of humor. Spike sighed at that standing next to her wondering if one day he would have to break them up. The other guys left while Angel went in his office.

Cara went to Angels office, he looked up at her. "Is there a place we can stuff Derek?" Angel kind of chuckled at that.

"Hey he looks out for you," Angel reminded her.

"If you only had a sibling." Both Spike and Derek came in seeing Cara talking to Angel.

"Am I still a shithead?" Derek asked Cara.

"Sometimes," Cara admitted.

"I'll take it," he hugged her.

"Your so weird," Cara rolled her eyes.

She hugged him briefly moving away. "Tonight, we go out there has been some things going on maybe we can find answers, Marcus will meet up with us," Angel explained.

Cara left the office along with her brother going to her desk. She went through paperwork on her desk trying to organize it all. Spike came over to her desk sitting next to her. "You alright?" Spike looked at her concerned.

"Just a lot going on," she answered him. Derek showed Spike the text she got from her mom saying she was disowning her. Just reading it made him angry not understanding why someone's own mother can hate their kid that much.

Spike pulled her in a hug holding her in his arms. "She's such a bitch," Derek said feeling sorry for her.

"I'm sorry," Spike held her. "I know what it's like to feel alone."

"You get use to it," Cara said wiping the tears from her eyes.

"You don't have to feel like that again," she kissed him on the cheek.

"I know." Spike knew he would take care of her being whatever support she needed. After all that he had been through, he was able to see past things and move forward being the man he always wanted to be.
