Now the carriage carrying them had arrived to the planning hall there were more armaments than he thought, as expected Crusch Karsten had a lot of military clout, there were mercenaries, old soldiers, knights and a lot of other capable mages. A lot of wolf animals as mounts other than a large amount of ground dragons or fancy lizards as Senku preferred to call them, just then Senku went off the ground a huge Wolf like demi human picked him off the ground with his neck from behind.
Demi human: So yer the one who is supposed to lead us? The description wasn't that off a scrawny guy whose hair looks like a turnip.
Senku: So you want to kill me already? My neck hurts drop me.
The Demi human let out a laugh and dropped Senku to the floor to which Senku replied "Ouch!"
Demi human: I am Ricardo the captain of the Iron fang, We're sent here for the white whale subjugation task.
Just then Crusch joined everyone in the room clad in armour, and it wasn't any of the over engraved movement limiting garbage armour Kings wore to war but a proper suit that would do the job. Senku was quick to ask, "You're joining too?"
Crusch (confidently): How am I not supposed to when there are others who are risking their lives for my cause? It's contradictory to the teachings I propose myself.
Senku nodded in approval that even if he lost the country isn't going to hell. Crusch then quickly rounded up everyone around the table. Senku went to get some of the cartons from the carts but wasn't able to even pick them up, Rem quickly noticed and picked them up before anyone else could notice which saved Senku a lot of embarrassment, In this world's terms people could even say a water flea was stronger than him. When they finally made it to the table, Senku started speaking.
Senku: "I know of the Whale's location using it's speed and it's rough location using some maths and it's tendency to roam towards the Witch's scent, I just am a mabeast magnet."
Everyone had varied expressions, some couldn't believe it some were doubtful some were scared that he was one of the Witch cultists. Then Crusch noticed this and called everyone's attention from around the room.
Crusch: I am afraid he isn't lying but a lot of the soldiers here have seemed to miss the point he made with his statement. He meant that a confrontation is imminent and it's not one of the empty missions where we couldn't spot it. So if anyone is afraid you may leave now!
Shockingly a few of them actually left to Senku's dismay who was thinking, "That was a rhetorical statement idiots" after this Senku finally explained the plan to them as he had already had in his head.
Mercenaries: He seems to know too much about the White whale like how does he know about the skin if he hasn't ever fought it?
Senku: About that, it's just cold hard logic, In books which documented the fights it was stated as the skin was rock hard but there weren't any gill like slits. That means if the Whale's skin was tough through and through it would just be a statue that can't move. Instead from a biological standpoint there must be a soft malleable layer under it just like human or animal skin where the outer layer has dead cells but is bound to the living layer. So I made some prepping beforehand just for this.
The trust in him as a strategist from the fighters was reinforced by his statements just then Rem picked up two cartons and placed them on the central table from them he took out two different items, lots of small bottles with a white powder in them and a large projectile with a pointed head.
Senku: Now this here in the vials is Sodium thiosulphate this is a potent antidote for the poison I had made for the whale itself. All close range fighters should keep one in their possession and ingest it before going near the whale as the poison is very potent and just a fingernail of this stuff can kill everyone in this room.
Willhelm: But how are you going to deliver the poison to the Whale itself?
This Senku said as he pointed to the projectile he placed on the table, This!
Senku: The poison I mentioned earlier is inside the projectile it would blast on impact scattering the toxin and since the Whale opens it's mouth all the time like an idiot it's easier to hit it as it's one giant target. As for why I gave you the antidote is because if you were to draw blood and if any of it was to fall on you If you ingested this drug beforehand it would actually pass off as a mild headache. As for anyone doubting the effectiveness of being able to hit the whale in it's mouth come outside for a demonstration.
The lot went outside to see a gun assembled and pointed awkwardly to the sky.
Senku: Don't worry it's pointed for the water. The calculations are all in my head, now look here! Once the mages run out of mana you are supposed to help fire this thing.
Senku said this and took out a rectangular canister and sent it through the side as it was breech loaded once he put it inside gently he locked it took a smaller projectile and dropped it through the front as soon as the projectile hit the canister inside the mechanical shock ignited the nitroglycerine and guncotton as a explosion no a roar from the god of war itself. There was a sonicboom Senku walked their way slightly hitting his head from the side as he said, "This behind me is the best weapon I could design for this task in the stipulated time, I hope you are able to trust me with your lives in this encounter with the White whale."
Just before they left Crusch took Rem and Senku to pick a mount for the battle because he had the job of acting as whale bait, Senku didn't know why but he chose a jet black dragon he just felt some attraction to it and the proud Earth dragon didn't reject him either. It really reminded him of a show he and his dad used to watch when he was small, he named it Patrasche after one of the characters it stood as a memory a memento of his time on earth and also gave him a reason to not become a braindead idiot who relied a lot on his immortality.
This brought cheering and a morale boost among the mercs and the soldiers alike just as Senku expected this brought a smile to Crusch's face as now they had another person they could trust and in a way Senku had taken off some off the load from her shoulders. He then chalked up the rest of the plan to the entire crew who agreed and were surprised from the plan and how it almost guaranteed 0 causalities.
They then packed up all the gear weapons and food necessary for the fight and left off in the caravan of carriages and ground dragons it was still dark as they approached If Senku's calculations were on point it meant that the confrontation was due in about 30 minutes. Senku set the timer on his Phone. He then left to help set up the cannons and for a strange reason he also had a trench dug and a lot of the fluids he had dumped in them. Senku had won everyone's trust based on the condition that there would be zero causalities. So he had to do good on the promise if he needed any future help.
And just as he expected the horizon started getting weird white clouds. Everyone understood the meaning of the clouds and looked back at Senku as his calculations were indeed correct. As the clouds closed in the dog of flanders started playing on Senku's phone and the silhouette of the White whale one of the Mabeasts that terrorised the world for over 400 years was visible. The white whale subjugation for all intents and purposes had begun.
AN: I know I delayed it by a lot I am sorry I got caught up in a lot of work after this week I can pick up my lost pace so until then, it's going to be slow.
