Within the hours of the late afternoon after Link's inspiring speech and the assembly at Lon Lon Ranch, Hylian forces across Hyrule worked hard to fortify and prepare themselves for the ineviatbility of a looming invasion by the long-thought gone Demon King Demise.

Akkala Fortress was no exception, the Akkala Sect of Hyrule's Army were more confident than ever that the fortress would not fall again like a hundred years ago during the chaos of Ganon's attack. But due to recent events as well as the speech, soldiers were on edge.

Atop the citadel and on the tower, soldiers remained on guard or on lookout at all times, watching for an attack either by air or by sea. The cannons were fresh and ready, bowmen stood at attention and soldiers trained with their swords and spears, preparing themselve.

Reprogrammed and rebuilt Guardian Skywatchers guarded the area, helping with the lookout. Even Guardian Stalkers and Guardian Turrets, long reprogrammed in the aftermath of the defeat of Ganon, were at the ready and eager to strike at any given time.

Hylian Army Watcher Smith was almost not afraid of what was going to happen shortly, he stood atop the Akkala Sheikah tower, watching his surroundings and the air and ocean through his binoculars.

His associate Jones observed the area through his magnifying telescope, in the first hour they'd seen nothing suspicious except for an island glowing with dark magic far out at sea.

But now, the air was getting cold at the top of the tower and, as night approached, things began to feel ominous as things started to feel too quiet.

"GREAT TRIFORCES OF HYLIA!" Jones exclaimed in shock, spotting what he'd apparently just spotted, "WE GOT INCOMING!"

Smith turned away to look at him and then looked back out at the horizon, down at the ocean. Instantly, his heart pounded and goosebumps crawled up his skin the second Smith spotted what Jones had spotted; An army of monsters, Yiga and corrupted Guardians lead by Demise and Ghirahim crossing the ocean, coming towards the fortress.

The sky began to turn red and the white clouds began changing to dark red, alarms began blaring and the soldiers scurried to their battle-stations, having spotted the incoming invasion.

"READY ON THE CANNONS, PREPARE THE BOWMEN, LOAD THE BIG GUNS AND TAKE UP ARMS!" Akkala Base commander Latuka shouted, "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK. LET US SHOW WE ARE THE STRONGEST."

Every soldier, rushing to their stations, saluted, knowing they had a kingdom to protect. Down below, Demise could sense the defense coming.

"Ah, the foolish humans." The King of Demons chuckled, raising his sword, "Believing themselves so prepared for our invasion and that they can save their kingdom."

Ghirahim laughed in delight, flickering back and forth between his metal black true form and his white skinned form, "Shall I give the order to begin the attack, oh master?"

Demise nodded, that was the all clear.

"MINIONS," Ghirahim yelled, "OPEN FIRE! BOMB ARROWMEN, FIRE ON THE CITADEL AND DESTROY THE GUARDS, DECIMATE THE CANNONS!"

A group of Lizalfos bowmen, bomb arrows prepared, and Guardian Stalker MK IIs took aim at the citadel as well as the encampment of soldiers and began firing. Explosions lit up the dark nightfall as walls were decimated and cannons exploded.

"FIRE!" A Hylian sergeant yelled, signalling for the Hyrulean cannons to open fire. Demise's dark power protected any of his minions suffering severe casualties as the cannons above exploded to life and the exploding cannonballs impacted the ground.

The enemy kept advancing and remained on the offensive.

Within seconds, corrupted Guardian stalkers were climbing the citadel wall and corrupt Skywatchers were not only shooting down non-corrupted airborn Guardians, but were blasting the Akkala Tower away itself.

Hylian soldiers Smith and Jones shrieked as the tower began to fall and them with it, knowing this was the end, they saluted each other and jumped down, trying to get to safety only to get blasted by two of the corrupted Guardian robots.

The good Guardian stalkers on the Hylian side tried to put up a fight only to be blasted away, Bokoblins and Moblins clubbed and diced the soldiers who rushed them, Ghirahim joyfully got a piece of the action by chopping down and disarming (literally) two soldiers.

The Akkala base commander instructed his pet bird to go spread the word that Akkala was falling. As the bird flew off, Demise reached the top of the besieged citadel accompanied by Moblins and was confronted by the commander himself.

The area was chaos and total carnage, Sheikah robots decimated each other and monsters sliced up Hylian soldiers as fires burned, the darkness illuminated by smoke and massive explosions of lazer fire and the ground covered in blood from the fallen.

The place that took so much reconstruction efforts, so much improvement, was being destroyed again, it looked as though it would never be rebuilt once it was all over.

Demise towered over the Akkala Commander, who whimpered in total fear, looking as if he might try to run for it even as Lizalfos n' Moblins were slicing and clubbing soldiers.

"Well, human!" The King of Darkness smirked his most menacing smirk yet, taunting the commander and his voice giving the Hylian soldier the chills, "Are you going to run, hide beneath a rock and hope that someone like Hylia comes to your aid or are you going to try and put up a decent fight like so many others before your time came?"

Latuka drew his durasteel gold-colored Royal Sword, which was a Master Sword clone, and shouted, "I'M GOING TO STAND HERE AND FIGHT UNTIL THE BATTLE'S DONE!"

"Very well, fool!" Demise growled, "Prepare to be drowned in your own blood screaming and begging for mercy, once I have ultimately destroyed you in this 'hopefully epic' fight, this citadel will have been crushed and then the rest of Hyrule will be mine."

Latuka shouted his "For Hyrule" battle cry, charged at Demise and attempted to go for the legs so he could weaken him and then take the arms and spike him.

Anticipating this move, knowing what to do, Demise kicked Latuka and knocked the sword right out of his hands.

The Royal Blade flew through the air and wedged itself in a pile of nearby rubble and rocks, Latuka was considering more options to take on the Demon King when…

"Sayanara fool!"

Demise brought down his sword and cut Latuka in half at the waste, blood spilling onto the ground, but before he could crumple to the ground in haves, Demise cleaved what would remain of him in half from head to toe in one swift strike, spilling more blood

No words could be spoken, no thoughts, nothing. Latuka's four-split remains crumpled to the ground, the heart no longer beating, the breathing stopped. What remained of the soldier was his quartered remains and pools of red and black blood.

Demise raised the left half of his head in the air, cackling viciously and declaring the Siege of Akkala over as his forces mopped up the remaining Hylian soldiers and non-corrupted Guardians as many were forced to retreat with their own lives.

Ghirahim cackled with glee, "We've done it, master. We destroyed a citadel, now we must obliterate the rest of Hyrule and rebuild it all in our glorious image."
