Capsule Corps
Goten flew up to Bulma's place and asked for a bed to place me on. Bulma offered the guest room, although it was not prepared for guests, she quickly made things available. Goten placed me gently on the bed as he looked right at me.
"What the hell happened? How did she get here?" Bulma questioned.
"You're not going to believe how she got here," Goten replied.
"Try me," Bulma stated.
At that moment, Trunks had walked in with Jade. They went straight to the guestroom where I laid.
"She is the one who brought Iltani here," Goten replied.
Bulma looked back and saw Jade and was stunned at how much she looked just like Iltani.
"What is this? Who are you?" Bulma asked.
"My name is Jade," Jade replied.
"Are you related to Iltani? You look just like her," Bulma replied.
"No, I was offered a lot of money, to have all this done and look like her," Jade replied, "At the time, I didn't know who she was. I thought she was a lost love of Pentti's but then I found out and I felt disgusted by it all."
"So, you were with Pentti this entire time? How are we to trust you here?" Bulma asked.
"I understand you may not trust me, but Iltani needs me. I can help mend her wounds. All she needs is some antibiotics and her fever to fall back to normal," Jade said.
"What if Pentti decides to look for you both? He already knows she has been here before. He may come here again," Bulma said.
"You're right Bulma, he may come here, but if he does, I'll give a fight worth fighting," Goten added, as he looked at me.
Jade looked away, afraid to face the idea that Pentti would die.
"Fine, you can stay, but fair warning, I am keeping my eyes on you," Bulma stated.
"I understand," Jade added.
The necessary items were brought over to fix me up, but the wound was extremely aggravated. Jade had to only stitch a section of it and leave a small section open to help it drain. She bandaged it gently and then stood up, allowing Goten to sit close to me.
"Your name is Goten correct?" Jade asked.
"Yes," Goten replied.
"I can tell you must be of great importance to her, and she to you," Jade replied.
"How so?" Goten asked.
"While she was unconscious for the time, she was at Pentti's place, she would mention your name, and Pentti would grow furious. She must care for you a lot," Jade replied.
"I, I don't know," Goten said.
"You love her, don't you?" Jade asked.
"It's much more than that," Goten replied, "But I don't want to talk about it with you."
"I understand," Jade added, "I will let you be alone with her."
Jade left the room and began to talk to Bulma and the others.
"Trunks says you are expecting a child from Pentti, is this true?" Bulma asked.
"Yes, it is true," Jade said nervously.
"Why would you allow such a disgusting man do such things?" Bulma questioned.
"I don't know, I just fell for him at first sight. I tried to drive the idea out of my head for years, but it only intensified when he would pay me any attention," Jade replied, "If it weren't for the obsession he has for Iltani, he would really be a great guy."
"I wouldn't think so," Vegeta added.
"You don't know him as I do," Jade said.
"We wouldn't want to know him at all," Bulma said, "He nearly killed my son Trunks and Goten."
"No, I don't think that's him," Jade said, "Well, then again, I have seen him kill some of his men for doing tiny mistakes."
"See what I mean," Bulma said, "Pentti is not to be trusted."
"I think he's changing," Jade said, "Before we would make love and it was different. More like an animalistic behavior, and the last time we made love, it was with so much more gentleness and passion. He even looked at me differently. I swear he may even have regretted doing what he did to Iltani."
"What is it he did to her?" Vegeta asked.
"Uh," Jade stuttered.
"He took advantage of her while she was weak and wounded," Trunks replied.
"What?" Vegeta exclaimed, "Uh, no that can't be possible."
"He did do what he intended," Bulma added.
"I'm sorry, I tried to intervene, but Alex wouldn't let me. He said it had to happen," Jade said, "He held me back and took me back to my room. That's when I decided I couldn't remain there any longer."
Jade's eyes began to fill with tears. Bulma saw this and began to have pity for the girl. Bulma then handed her a box of tissues.
"It's not your fault Jade," Bulma said, "Pentti is the one responsible for all of this, not you."
"But I feel that I fed on to his obsession, even after knowing the truth, I tried to look different by cutting my hair, but I think he actually enjoyed me more," Jade said.
"Stop defending him," Vegeta stated, "He's nothing but an animal who needs to be put down."
"You plan on killing him?" Jade said.
"Of course," Vegeta stated, "Someone like him doesn't deserve to live."
Jade's eyes swelled up with more tears as she then walked away from them to the balcony and sat down in tears.
"She really has fallen for Pentti," Bulma said, "Poor thing."
"Where are Whis and Lord Beerus? They should be here right now," Vegeta stated.
Goten remained at my side, as he continued to put a cool cloth over my forehead.
"Come on Iltani," Goten said, "Come back to me."
At that moment my hand moved and gripped his arm. My thumb pressed upon his forearm and with that my eyes opened and glowed white, causing Goten's eyes to also glow white. It was as if he fell into a trance and then his head fell onto the bed next to me. My eyes then closed, as my grip on his arm remained.
Goten opened his eyes and noticed he stood at a familiar place. He was back in my past. He saw a little girl laughing and playing with two boys. They looked extremely innocent playing about. The girl saw him and race to include him in the game.
"Come play with us," the girl said with a huge smile upon her face and taking his hand.
"You can see me?" Goten asked.
"Of course, silly," she replied and then ran off to play again.
"What is this?" Goten questioned.
"No, you're cheating! Come on Pentti that's not fair!" stated the little girl.
"Pentti?" Goten questioned.
"Of course, it's fair, you're just too little to get to it," Pentti stated.
"I am not too little," stated the girl, with an angry look.
"Then try it," Pentti stated.
Goten then saw the other little boy go toward the girl until Pentti shouted at the boy.
"Yanzu don't you help her," Pentti shouted, "She needs to learn on her own."
"I was just," Yanzu said.
"No," Pentti stated.
"Sorry Iltani," Yanzu added with a smile.
"It's ok," she said, "I can do it."
"Pentti, Iltani, and Yanzu," Goten thought, "What the hell am I doing here?"
The little girl started to climb a tree to reach a toy that Pentti put up there.
"You're not supposed to climb the tree Iltani! Dad will get mad at me if you get hurt," Pentti exclaimed.
"Be careful Iltani," Yanzu exclaimed.
"I'm fine," stated the little Iltani.
She looked at Goten and smiled, as she then jumped to the branch above her. Goten began to walk slowly toward the tree, as he watched carefully over little Iltani.
"I almost got it," she shouted.
The toy then fell on its own to the ground, as little Iltani then had a sad look upon her face.
"I almost had it," she stated.
"Come on down Iltani, I have it now," Yanzu stated as he stepped away from the tree.
"I'm coming down," she shouted.
As she shifted her weight, the branch she was on began to snap and crack with her weight.
"Oh no," little Iltani said.
The branch snapped but still held on to the tree, and now Iltani was hanging from the branch.
"Aah!" she screamed.
"Iltani!" Goten shouted as he was about to rescue her.
"No!" both Pentti and Yanzu shouted.
"You can't interfere," Pentti stated.
"What do you mean I can't interfere? She's going to get hurt," Goten said.
"She already did this before, and the past can't be changed," Yanzu added.
"What?" Goten added when he then realized the branch broke and Iltani was falling.
Pentti raced to her rescue but only broke her fall by hurting himself in the process. Little Iltani stood up barely bruised and looked at Pentti, as he now held a broken arm.
"See, nothing changed," Yanzu said, as he then ran off toward them.
Suddenly everything around Goten began to spin and change. That's when he saw himself outside, but his clothing changed. He was younger than he was, but still knew it was him. He looked around and saw Iltani racing toward him.
"Iltani," Goten exclaimed.
"I hate him," Iltani said, as she hugged him.
"What are you talking about?" Goten asked.
"My brother, he has changed. I don't like it, I hate him now," Iltani added.
"What do you mean he's changed?" Goten asked.
"I'd rather not say, but Yanzu, promise me you will never change. Promise me you will always be my friend no matter what," Iltani said.
"I promise," Goten added.
"I love you Yanzu, you're the best friend I could ever have," Iltani said as she hugged him again.
She then pulled away and smiled as she then vanished from his view. His clothes changed again and remembered this attire he had on. He held on a tool for farming and he quickly turned and saw Iltani standing there. Goten quickly dropped the tool and walked up to her.
"Iltani, what's the matter?" Goten said, as he then remembered what would happen next.
Goten let the scene play out as it did, remembering that kid Yanzu told him he can't change the past. It was at the point where he ran off with Iltani and asked her to marry him.
"I love you Iltani," Goten said.
Just at that moment, he was brought back to the recent past, when Pentti attacked but instead of killing Goten, he struck Iltani.
"No," Goten exclaimed.
He saw Iltani looking up to him and smiled.
"I know," Iltani said.
Everything then went black as Goten was hurt to relive these moments with me. I finally approached him and put my hand on his shoulder. Goten was startled as he then turned and looked at me.
"Iltani," Goten said.
I smiled at him as he stood to his feet.
"Is this another vision or something? Is it really you?" Goten asked.
All I did was look at him with a smile upon my face. He then saw that the tears began to fall from my eyes.
With tears falling from my eyes, I put my hand to his face and looked him deep in the eyes.
"I choose you," I whispered.
"Iltani, I'm in love with you," Goten said, as he cupped my face, "Please come back to me."
"I approve you, Goten," I said, as the tears fell from my eyes.
Goten began to wipe my tears away, as he leaned in and was about to kiss me when he heard a rumble of thunder in the background.
"You need to leave Goten," I said, "You can't stay here."
"I'm not leaving without you," Goten said, "I need you to come with me. Please."
"It's not time," I said," It's not time."
"Not time? Not time for what?" Goten asked, "I don't understand."
"Just know that I approve you," Iltani added.
Goten cupped my face again and kissed me. I was startled by this as I didn't expect him to kiss me. With that, I remembered the feeling of his lips upon mine. How could that be, if this was the first time we ever kissed.
"Let me go," I whispered.
"I can't let you go," Goten whispered, as his forehead was touching mine, "I don't want to let you go."
"Goten, I'm dying," I said as I looked at him, "I don't have much longer to live."
"Don't say that," Goten stated.
"Not even your dragon balls can bring me back," I added.
"How did you know about the dragon balls?" Goten said.
"I know you; I see you; I hear you," I replied, "You were thinking of it, but it won't work. Once I'm gone, there is nothing in this world that can bring me back."
"No, there has to be something I can do," Goten said, "You can't die."
"Tell me about your dreams of me," I said softly.
Goten pulled slowly away and looked me in the eyes, as he then began to tell me of his dreams. He told me every detail and I was shocked that he knew so much of me.
"Then it wasn't Yanzu, it was you?" I asked.
"I don't know how it happened but yes, it was me the whole time," Goten replied.
"You loved me then," I added.
"And I love you still," Goten said.
"Now I know why I am here," I smiled.
"Why?" Goten asked.
"Because of you," I replied with a smile, "It is our fate. We are meant to be together."
"How can we be together, if you just said you are dying?" Goten added.
"I don't know," I replied.
Goten held me close in his arms, as he felt heartbroken to know that I was dying, and he would never see me again.
"I'm sorry, Goten, I wish you had never been involved in this," I added.
"I'm glad I was," Goten said, "I would have never known you."
"I love you Goten," I cried, in his arms.
I had to tell him what I was feeling, I couldn't let him leave without knowing. I had to tell him before it was too late.
"I love you too," Goten said, as our eyes locked upon each other and we stood there not knowing what else to do.
"It's time," I said, with tears in my eyes, "You can't stay here, or you will be lost for the rest of your life."
"I'd rather be lost as long as it's with you," Goten said.
"I can't allow that to happen," I said, as I took his arm, "I brought you here, now I have to send you back."
"Iltani, please," Goten said.
I then gripped his arm and with the tears falling down my face I looked at him one last time.
"Perhaps we will find each other again in another time or world entirely," I added.
"No," Goten said.
I then pressed my thumb onto his arm with a strong grip and looked at him one last time.
"Goodbye Goten," I said, looking at him with a broken heart.
In that instant Goten returned to reality as he gave a big gasp of air into his lungs and almost fell over his chair.
Goten looked at me and he saw I was turning pale.
"Iltani," Goten shouted, "Iltani!"
Everyone raced into the room to see what was going on, and they saw that I was as pale as a dead person could be. Jade walked into the room and pushed everyone aside. She was afraid to confirm what was happening, she checked for my pulse.
"Does she have a pulse?" Bulma asked.
"Her pulse is very low," Jade replied, "She's dying."
"No!" Goten exclaimed as Trunks held him back.
Vegeta left the room with even more anger upon him.
