Chapter 14: Reunion

While they are at the beach, they manage to find Theo standing in their way. Ash says, "Theo? What are you doing here?"

Theo says, "Hey! Issat who I think it is? Yeah! It's Ash, Serena and Aurora! So...so you survived the trip here, huh?"

Ash says, "I mean, we did manage to get here with little problem."

Theo notices the device in Serena's pocket, he says, "What's that you've got there? It's that speech translator thingy, right?"

Serena says, "You mean this? Well, Professor Cypress gave it to me so I can talk to Pokemon without any problem."

"Well, Bamb'o called me to tell me about that, and then he sent me one! Now I can also understand Pokemon! Neat, huh?" Theo says.

"That is great news." Aurora says. "Since it will be good if you can know what your Pokemon is thinking."

"A-anyway, I blazed straight through Rochfale. What a boring town! Ah! I've been training ever since. I am going to beat that Gym Leader before you do, Ash!"

"We'll see about that." Ash says, "How about a battle first?"

"Sure, don't think I'll go easy just 'cause of what happened in Comet Cave." Theo says. "I know you are able to calm down the Terlard there, but I was able to knock out those bad people's Pokemon as well."

He sends out Cubblfly first, Ash sends out Palij first.

"It seems like you also have some new Pokemon as well." Theo says.

"Yeah, I caught him back at Route 4, and I just evolved it not long ago." Ash says. Then with the help of Fire Type moves, Cubblfly is defeated. And then Theo uses Minyan, which defeats the Pokemon with the Mean Look and the Bite, causing Ash unable to recall his Pokemon and also flinching at the same time. Ash sends out Cassnail, much to his surprise at he has a Ground Type like that Pokemon. Cassnail uses Mud Bomb, which causes Minyan to get knocked back and then defeats him with a Earth Power.

And then his third Pokemon is Chicoatl, Ash hasn't seen this kind of Pokemon before, so he just assume that it is a Grass Type. But the fact it uses Grass Whistle to make it fall asleep and then a Leech Seed at the same time is able to knock the Cassnail out. Ash uses Aveden next. The Flying attacks like Air Slash makes the Pokemon flinch, in the end it defeats the Chicoatl. Forcing him to send out his last Pokemon: Raptorch. Aveden struggles hard because of the Flame Wheel and Extreme Speed, but he still wins thanks to Roost and Hyper Voice.

"Gyaaah! I picked the wrong starter!" Theo yells, and Serena rolls her eyes, "You are still going about that?"

Theo cries a little and he says, "*sniffle* Y-ugh...I-I-I don't care what happens! My Pokemon are the strongest, they were just weak from all the battling that we'd done before we fought!"

"Sure, whatever helps you cheer up." Ash says.

"A-anyway, they d-did get some experience from this battle..." Then Theo stops crying and he says, "I know! I'm-a challenge the Gym right now! An' I'll get ahead of you, Ash! You just see!"

Then he just bids them farewell as he rushes away. Ash says, "That went well..."

Aurora says, "Though he should change his childhood ways. But hey, we are now at Bealbeach City."

"You're right." Ash says as they enter the city, they are in awe at the sight of the beach like city. Serena says, "This city sure has some vibes of Cyllage City..."

"Indeed, over there is the Beachside Resort and Casino, like the one in the Celadon City, you can gamble to earn coins and exchange some prizes." Aurora says with a smile.

"And it is also a relaxing spot." Serena says. "Is that a Department Store?"

"Why yes. The department store offers the widest assortment of items in the Tandor Region. Nearly all consumables for purchase in Tandor can be found among its five floors." Aurora says.

"And what about that building?" Ash points at the building with a Green roof, and Aurora smiles, "That is the Ranger HQ. How about we go there first?"

"Ranger...wait a second, didn't you say that our Dad is the chief of the Rangers?" Ash says as he gasps a little. "Does that mean Dad is here?"

"You got it right." Aurora says and Ash can't hold his excitement any longer, since it sure has been a while since he has met his father.

Once they get into the Headquarters, a staff member notices them and says, "Aurora! It has been a while. Is this who I think it is?"

Aurora smiles and says, "Yes, he is Ash, my brother that I haven't seen for years."

The ranger gasps and he says, "The Chief's son has returned to Tandor! Quick! Someone get Adam!"

At the same time, Adam, who is wearing just like Ash's Kanto outfit, except the fact that the shirt is not blue but green, he is looking at the photo of Delia with worry. "Just where have you been...Delia..."

"Chief!" The same ranger rushes into the room and Adam asks, "What's the matter? Does something bad happen right now?"

"No...it's Aurora, she has brought Ash here." The ranger says, and Adam gasps in surprise. "Ash? You mean...he is here?"

He quickly rushes outside of the office, and he can't believe that he is seeing Ash in front of him.

"Ash? Is that really you?" Adam asks in shock, and Ash also gasps to see the person in front of him, he looks just like him but older, Ash rushes towards him and gives him a hug, he says, "Dad...I finally get to meet you..."

Adam is surprised at the sudden hug, but he smiles and says, "I missed you as well, Ash." Adam turns to Aurora and says, "Well, thanks for bringing Ash here, Aurora."

"It is no problem." Aurora says. After breaking the hug, he turns to Serena and says, "And who might this beautiful lady be?"

Serena blushes a little at the compliment and she says, "I am Serena, I am from Kalos and I...I am Ash's girlfriend."

Adam blinks a second, and then he says, "Oh, just look at how many years have I been missing out of your life...congratulations for getting a girlfriend, Ash."

Ash says, "Dad, please stop tease me."

"But what are you doing here in Bealbeach?" After noticing the badges on his shirt, he says, "I see you have two badges, which means that you are here for the Gym Challenge, right?"

Aurora says, "Well...we also become Professor Pinewood's assistants...and the other reason we are here is to search for Mom."

Adam flinches a little at the mention of Delia, but then he shakes it off and smiles, "Ash, I'm...at a loss for words. It's been so long since I last saw you. I should have expected your arrival. After all, there is a Pokemon Gym here. It makes sense that you would come to Bealbeach."

Adam gives a sad frown, "Still...I always wanted to give you a special tour of the Ranger HQ. This is the biggest Ranger Station in all of West Tandor. And, as you know, I am the Chief. It's a job with lots of responsibility. So, you understand, I've been busy...Too busy to visit you in Pallet Town..."

"I know, Dad. I am not mad at you, it is just...without you by our side, I just feel like something is missing..." Ash says.

Serena says, "You see, Ash has been traveling around for years, and he has already completed six leagues."

Adam smiles, "My goodness, you've grown so much, Ash. Traveling the regions and challenging Leagues...Of course, I was the same when I was your age. I was a Junior Cadet back in my days."

"I know. Aurora told me everything, including my past..." Ash says.

"Speaking of which, how is Gary doing?" Ash flinches at the mention of his childhood friend, he didn't know that Adam knows Gary. He tells him about how he has become a Proefssor like his grandfather, and he is very proud of it.

Just then, a Ranger comes and says, "Sorry to interrupt, Chief, but there's a letter for you!"

"A Letter? Hmm..." Adam reads the letter and says, "It's from Cameron at the Nuclear Power Plant."

"Nuclear Power Plant?" Ash and the others are confused. Adam says, "He says that the construction is proceeding as usual. Soon, the new Plant will be fully operational. He certainly works fast, I'll grant him that."

"Cameron is Theo's father, right?" Serena asks Adam, he says, "Oh? So you have met Theo?"

"Well, we got the Starter Pokemon here at the same time." Ash says. "But what is about that?"

Adam sighs, "A new power plant...So soon after the old one was destroyed..." He turns to Ash, "I know that this is a sudden, but I have a favor to ask of you. I need you to go to Power Plant Epsilon and deliver my response to Cameron. It's important to proceed with caution. Delia...your mother...disappeared on that very island 10 weeks ago. It's important that we never forget that..."

Ash and Aurora frown as they can't believe that they are going to the place where their mother was last to seen, and then Adam gives him a letter, says, "I will send word to the Power Plant and tell them to expect you. I think that Cameron will be happy to see you, too."

Ash asks, "So Dad, are you going with us as well?"

"I would come along too, but I have to stay here and train the new Ranger Cadets. But I am certain that with the three of you together, you can handle it yourself. You are my children after all...and in law as well."

Serena blushes after hearing the last ones, which means that Adam has approved of her relationship with Ash. Then they bid farewell to Adam as they leave the HQ. Ash says, "So we are going to the Power Plant Epsilon...maybe we will have a chance to find Mother there..."

"Yeah..." Aurora says. "But with the radio there, who knows what will we encounter on our way there..."

Serena says, "So how are we going to get to the Power Plant? I mean...we don't know where it is..."

Aurora says, "I know, it is on the east of this beach, we can go there by boat. I am sure that the staff there will let us get onto the boat."

Ash and Serena nod, and Ash says, "But you know, I am glad that Dad is approval of our relationship. I was really worried at first."

"Me too, from the looks of it, he seems like a strict person." Serena says. Aurora says, "Deep down inside, he is a kind father, it is just because of Team Rocket that he acts like that..."

Here is a new chapter, and Ash finally meets his father Adam, who is the Chief of the Ranger HQ. The next chapter is going to be the Nuclear Power Plant, and there are going to be the first Nuclear Pokemon in the story.
