Dominic's dorm, day
Dominic visited a fabric store to see if he could make a suit for the dance. It's just WHO was fitting him that was odd.
"When are we going to be done again?" Dominic said in impatience.
"The more you struggle, the longer this will take." Said D2. Dominic split himself to do this.
"Why didn't I have Mimikyu do this to you?"
"Because you never think."
After trial and mostly error, Dominic re-fused to see what the rest of his team were doing in the ballroom. "Hey guys, what are you doing?"
"Weiss is having me pick out a tablecloth color, but they're both the same!" Ruby complained. Dominic took a quick peek at the tablecloth options.
"No. This one is slightly paler." He pointed out, surprising Ruby.
"How did you do that!?"
"I tend to be more perceptive than other people. It helps with fights."
Yang walked over and saw what Weiss was doing. "Weiss! I thought we agreed, no doilies!"
"If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines!" the white haired heiress said.
"Your dance is going to have fog machines?" Neptune said, causing Weiss to lose her edge a bit.
"We were thinking about it." she says a bit meekly.
"That's pretty cool."
"You ladies all excited for dress-up?" Sun asks.
"You bet I am!" Dominic said, igniting his eye for a brief second.
"Yeah, i'll be turning heads tomorrow night!" Yang exclaimed.
Dominic looked at Yang's outfit. "In which direction?" Dominic asked before getting hit in the head by the blonde.
"What are you three wearing?" Weiss asked.
"Uh..this." Sun said, referring to his lack of a shirt.
"Forgive him, for he knows not what he says." Neptune defended.
"Sounds familiar." Dominic said before getting hit in the head by his copy. "Ow."
"Hey, I may have moved to Mistral. But I was raised in Vacuo. That place isn't exactly shirt-and-tie." Sun tried to explain.
"We noticed." Yang commented.
"What about you, Dominic?" Weiss just hoped he had something more professional.
"I have Mimikyu working on that. He's quite skilled when it comes to fabric." Dominic said.
"So..is Blake still being all, Blakey?" Sun asked.
"Obviously." Weiss said.
"I have a sneaking suspicion that she'll come. After all, I wouldn't want her to miss my performance." Dominic said.
"What?" everyone said in confusion.
"Yeah, Ozpin let me perform at the dance tomorrow. You all will see how much flair(flare) I have." Dominic said with a grin. "Anyways, i'll have Blake at the dance faster than you can pronounce the word otorhinolaryngologist." I dare you to try and pronounce that word.
Random classroom, day
Dominic had followed Blake into the classroom to discuss something Dominic knew all about, sleep deprivation.
"Dominic, if you're going to tell me to stop, you can save your breath." Blake said.
"I don't want you to stop, I want you to rest." Dominic pleaded.
"I don't have the luxury to rest."
"It's not a luxury, it's a necessity."
"The necessity is capturing Torchwick."
"And he will eventually be captured. But before that, I implore you to listen to me."
"...Fine."
"You may be aware that I have rather low amounts of stamina. But you don't know how that happened. When I was 10, I came across a...Grimm with a peculiar ability. It was able to absorb the life force of anything around it. I got cocky and lost half my strength, and one of my eyes."
FLASHBACK
Team Flare secret base
Dominic had never seen anything like this before.
A large creature that resembled a Y was challenging Dominic to a battle. "YYVVELLL!"
(X/Y legendary battle theme, pokemon)
Dark aura filled the room.
Dominic sent out Charizard.
Charizard used Fly.
Yveltal used Dark Pulse, but it failed.
Charizard swooped down, ramming into Yveltal.
Yveltal used Phantom Force to disappear from the battle.
Charizard prepared Dragon Claw and anticipated Yveltal's next point of attack. Behind itself.
Yveltal reappeared and used it's talons to attack the Fire/Flying type.
Dragon Claw and Phantom Force collided, but Yveltal was able to overpower the not-dragon. This sent Charizard plummeting to the ground.
Dominic quickly ran to his starter to protect it from damage.
Yveltal began charging Oblivion Wing.
Dominic began charging a ball of fire, both eyes igniting with flame magic.
The ball of flame and beam of death combined to create a literal legendary explosion that sent Dominic into the wall, injuring his eye. The impact knocked an Ultra Ball loose, hitting Yveltal and capturing it.

The doors burst open to reveal a younger Gregory with a large creature with antlers that shone in all the colors of the rainbow.
They saw Dominic, Charizard, and Yveltal all on the ground. Dominic being much more damaged than the others, probably because his right eyesocket was pouring blood.
"DOMINIC!" Gregory shouted. He ran to his brother and tried to heal him.
Gregory's mother was Life element, so it was natural for him to inherit some of those powers. He only got one, but it was a doozy. Gregory, blinded by sadness, was able to heal any injury of everyone in his vicinity. If he tries it calm however, he risks losing all cognitive function. His brother is an exception to this rule.
Cyan and green swirled around Dominic. Xerneas assisted by using Geomancy. Dominic eventually woke up, but only one eye worked.
END FLASHBACK
Dominic, clearly, didn't tell Blake everything. "I narrowly got out there with my life. If it weren't for Gregory, i'd be dead."
"Dominic, i'm sorry that happened to you. And I understand what you're trying to tell me. But i'm not a child, and I can't just stop-"
"I already told you, I just want you to rest. You will get your answers, but if you kill yourself along the way then what's the point!?"
"You don't understand, i'm the only one that can do this!"
"(sigh) If Torchwick came through that door right now, what do you think would happen?" Smoke started to emanate from Dominic's body.
"I'd fight him!"
"You would die!" Dominic's eye ignited.
"I can stop him!"
"You can't even stop me!" Dominic takes a deep breath as his eye returns to normal. "Like I said, just rest. Calm down and perhaps you'll find a new perspective. In fact, I think someone wants to save you a dance." Dominic said, glancing at a certain eavesdropper behind the door. "Now if you excuse me, I need to find the only person I can bribe to perform with me." he says before running out the door.
Tomorrow night, Dominic's dorm
Dominic's scout reported back. "Thanks Rotom. I still need you to spy on Cinder, she just...rubs me the wrong way. Please let me know if you find anything."
"Roto!" the Plasma Pokemon says before flying off. Dominic then called someone to sing with him.
"Hey...Of course I need a favor, why else would I call you?..I need you to sing (read next chapter to find out) with me...Fine, you can bring a guest...7...7...7...7...Anything but 7." He then hung up.
