No Chapter-by-Chapter updates on this platform.
Both positive and negative reviews have asked where I am going, have said they are confused or they don't see this or that element yet, or have tried to tell me what the plot of my story "is" and what I "should" be writing and what they "should" be seeing.
I do not need to lay out my credentials for why I don't need to be taught how to write.
I have everything plotted out and I know where I am going. As a reader, I don't review a work until it is completed so that I can read the author's vision and evaluate the work as a whole like I would a novel or short story; I know the work is in progress and that the writer will resolve everything by the end. I'm also not one to try to tell someone what they "should" be writing or some make or break thing I "must" see in their writing for them to have my validation. I never want to influence someone to change the story they feel so compelled to tell. If I want to see something, I write it myself.
I will update on FanFiction when the last chapter is written, and the work is complete. I will continue to update chapter-by-chapter on Archive of Our Own (AO3), a platform I like much better. This will also probably be the case for any other multiple chapter fics I chose to write in the future.
Below are a list of situations or questions I may receive and my response:
To those who tell me you can't wait to see how I write this element or another: thank you for being so excited to see my interpretation.
To those who prefer chapter-by-chapter updates: follow the work on AO3 under the same story name and penname.
To those who are writers or are interested in becoming a writer: the best thing to do is start writing. Challenge yourself to write something you've never thought or written before. Stay true to whatever vision you see in your head.
To those who are unhappy with elements of this story: write your own with everything you would like to see. Other people want to see that vision too. The world needs more fanfics with different perspectives and elements to the story.
To those who would like to see an outline of where I'm going or a highlighted version of each chapter where I have pointed out some motivation or detail because you don't see or understand something: message me with your contact information.
To those feeding on the anonymity of Guest to be negatively bolder than you would be in person: please consider leaving your contact information in your review or write a review on AO3 where guests can be responded to and the author's response can be read by everyone. The ability to respond to guests and the ability to see an author's response to reviews is one of many reasons why I prefer AO3 to FF.
To those who will be waiting for the complete fic: hopefully, I'll finish quickly. Most of the dialogue is written and the action just needs to be fleshed out.
To those who would like to know more about the story or process once the work is finished: I will be doing a Q&A response after the Epilogue. If you have a question you would like to appear in that final installment, please leave a review or message me and start it "Q&A:"
To be clear, I am neither offended nor upset by any review; I thank everyone for their time at the end of each chapter regardless of whether they love, hate, or are indifferent to my writing. This is not a hiatus. I will be writing the story I wish to tell. I am not silent—I am working.
Author's Note: To everyone who reads, gives Kudos, leaves favorites, leaves reviews, follows/subscribes, bookmarks, or any other way you show your interest, a huge thank you. I'm glad that you are receiving something from me telling the story I want to tell.
