"Come on, Katie!" Alicia grumbled to her girlfriend as she tapped her foot impatiently, in front of her office at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

"Coming!" Katie called, as she scribbled furiously on as piece of parchment in front of her, glasses perched adorably on the tip of her nose.

"We don't have all day!" Alicia reminded her. "Well, we do, but Angelina was expecting us half an hour ago."

"Yes, yes! I know, I just really need to finish this!" she answered as she flipped furiously through a file.

Alicia had their bags dumped around her. She had her coat on, and was leaning against the door-frame of Katie's office, looking more and more impatient. Katie, on the other hand, was buried under a flurry of files, papers, and paper air planes zooming at her from all sides, waiting impatiently to be read. Her hair was pulled up with a pencil, and the glasses she had refused to get and pretended she didn't own were slightly crooked.

"All right, done!" she exclaimed.

"Finally," Alicia groaned. "I've been standing here half-an-hour!"

"I told you you could sit down," Katie argued, quickly putting away the much despised glasses, and tugging a jumper on.

"That's not the point."

"Aww, come on, darling, I'm done now, aren't I?" Katie teased, laughing, and kissing here briefly. She pulled her coat on and tried to rearrange her hair.

"You all good?"

Katie slapped her forehead in a most comical way. "I forgot, I just need to send this letter!"

"Kaaaaaaatiiiiieee!" Alicia groaned.

"It'll be really quick, I promise!"

It was rather quick indeed, and soon Katie was locking the door to her office behind her (after already locking it once, realising she had left her purse, and having to go back in). The pair hurried through the Ministry offices and downstairs as quickly as possible, though Katie took the time to shout a quick goodbye to the already much empty Department.

"You work too hard," Alicia told her.

"No, I don't!" Katie argued, as they took one of the exits of the Ministry of Magic and appeared on the street of Muggle London.

"Yes, you do. How many hours did you work today?" Alicia demanded.

"I don't know, 8?"

"You were gone at 5 this morning," Angelina told her.

"Oops?" Katie offered, and gave her a pleading look. "But I had this enormous project to finish, and everyone had already gone to the World Cup, so I had a lot on my plate-" she rambled.

"Yes, the freaking world cup, where our girlfriend is flying for England!" Alicia scolded.

Katie sighed and said: "Do you think she'll mind very much? That we're late?"

"That you're late."

"Lishy!"

"No, she won't. Because you two have the strangest notions about hard work and she understands working until you drop dead."

"Well, there's a reason she's flying tomorrow!"

They finally reached their portkey, in a very quiet alley in London. They grabbed hold to it and were whisked to a field in Wales, only a very short distance from the entrance to the grounds for the World Cup. After all, being the girlfriends of a player did have it's advantages.

They continued to bicker tenderly until they reached Angelina's tent (but of course, they got lost several times in the protest, because if there was one person who could read a map out of the three of them, it was Angelina, and she was precisely the one they were trying to find.)

Alicia knocked at the door of the tent and Angelina threw it open.

"Alicia, Katie! I thought you weren't going to come!" Angelina squealed and kissed them both.

"And miss our girlfriend play in the World Cup. That seems relatively unwise," Alicia said.

"I just had this enormous amount of work-" Katie tried to explain.

Angelina laughed and waved her excuses away. "Who cares! You're hear now! Oh my Merlin!"

She dissolved into a bunch of hysterical squealing and chattering, very much similar to when she had learned she'd be playing for England, or when they won the match and England was going to be the playing in the finals.

"Woah, calm down, Angie!" Alicia told her after she'd burst out squealing for the third time.

"I'm no scared, and excited and nervous!"

"You're going to do absolutely wonderful, Angelina, I'm sure of it," Katie reassured her. "You've worked so hard for this."

"Something Katie knows very well," Alicia muttered, but the other two just laughed.

"Oh, I couldn't have done it without you!" Angelina said.

"Neither could I," said Katie.

Alicia rolled her eyes, but only a little. "Me neither, you bunch of saps. Now go get some rest, Angelina. You have a match to play tomorrow!"

"You're right!" Angelina squealed and she bounded of to bed, where the other two would soon be joining her. All was just right.
