Episode 14: Shark Tamer.

Shinyshore City. 12 am.

Ryoga: wait, Shinyshore City? What are we going to do that, Jane-chan? Oh well, I know: let's have a beach vacation there!

Jane: well you could, Ryoga-kun, but first I want you to catch your very first Pokémon in your life too. By the way, most of people get their very first Pokémon at age of 10 and you are already 18 right now …

At least, Ryoga was glad: Ash and others were absent since Jane – his beloved Giratina aka Galaxy-eyes Acceleron Dragon – had been focusing and spending her time at him and even at beach itself! Though Jane didn't want to spend that much of time on it, yet it has been a good sign for Ryoga himself.

Jane: Ryoga-kun! Did you take your PokeBalls with yourself? Because taming won't be enough and those sharks are not just sharks but actual warriors!

Ryoga: like those my cards summon, Jane-chan? How strong are those … Sharpedos? Or how are they being called?

Jane: #319: Sharpedo. A Brutal Pokémon. As soon as it catches the scent of its prey, Sharpedo will jet seawater from its backside, hurtling toward the target to attack at 75 mph. It evolves from Carvanha starting at level 30.

Ryoga: so as I understand, I can either catch this guy or either catch another one which is considered as its baby?

Jane: bingo, Ryoga-kun! But, of course, I do believe you can start with a Sharpedo itself instead of wasting your time on training its baby!

In fact, there had been a plenty of time till Kaiba's tournament: in other words, Jane&Co had had around 3 weeks till preliminaries. Of course, after Mr Heartland's death from Vector's hands, there was an another mayor of Heartland City, who had signed a contract with KaibaCorp, of course. In other words, both could focus on things other than tournament and such, on teaching Ryoga how to train his Pokémons especially.

Jane: get ready, Shark, in accordance with TV news – Sharpedos are usually appearing here at that time exactly.

Ryoga: and how am I supposed to tame them? By fighting them literally? Or is that a different way to do that?

Jane: well there is an almost extinct chance of befriending one of them without battling them, but … to catch one, you must defeat one …

Ryoga: gotcha!

Ryoga had changed into his Barian Emperror form immediately, making a high long-distance jump into the water. He wasn't afraid to get wet and salted – at least, [Water] had been his "element", one he trusted and loved through all of his life and incarnations. But on what had he jumped, what would have had his starting point been? Right – nothing: for Ryoga, his intention had been to become a Sharpedo by himself. Not literally, of course – though, of course, his nickname is "Shark" for him loving water and being a pretty tough duelist. He had 5 PokeBalls, provided by Jane herself – a starter pack for every rookie trainer ...

Jane: wait, I see their find, it should be no mistake – Ryoga-kun, time for hunt! Be careful – they are way more powerful than casual sharks, they are warriors!

Shark had thrown a PokeBall, but a pissed off Sharpedo has just jumped out of water – trying to bite a Barian Emperror to eradicate him. Ryoga knew what to do: at least, he had his cards which he had managed to activate outside of duel instead of strict rules he had to obey while dueling anyone.

Ryoga: I activate a Trap Card, [Raigeki]!

Jane: wait, Ryoga-kun, since [Raigeki] is similar to [Thunderbolt], an Electric Type Move … CARFEFUL, Ryoga-kun!

Ryoga: I know, but, Jane-chan – don't forget that cards work in different way than Pokémon moves … I guess! Plus, there is no such a type as an "Electric type" in Duel Monsters card game, there are 7 types only!

Jane: fine, just be careful. Oh yes, one more thing: it could learn a Poison type move too, so try avoiding it attacking you, ok?

Abyss Knight base.

?: Seems like Giratina itself took everything in its hands to ruin our plans … And knowing its powers, we are in trouble … Plus it was the one to ruin Team Galactic itself, they were pretty dangerous with their ambitions to reshape the Universe …

?1: DON'T COMPARE us with those colored losers, they would never succeed with Saint Maids neither with Lakers. They had nothing besides Pokémons and primitive outdated technologies, plus it took a while for them to get artifacts. Plus, don't forget that Saint Maids just … I would say they overplayed to make them feel they succeed with taking control over them.

?: so that scene with Di … Diana and Hikari … was just a play to make their plans getting shattered in pieces?

?1: Would you really believe those 2 would get being controlled by mere humans? While being around 14 billion years old each? I doubt so, especially knowing their abilities, there is nobody above them … well, maybe except of Arceus itself since it is one who has created them … their parent, in other words …

?: Yet, Giratina itself was that the one to ruin a Team Galactic completely … what if it didn't appear at that moment?

?1: I do think they made a plan before. Anyway, thanks to Giratina, we have one less rival since the whole Team Galactic crew is either locked behind the prison bars or rather been killed literally.

?: what shall be our next turn? Should we try to attack Giratina again? Or wait for a better moment and day?

?1: We are better attack her friends rather than herself, we cannot risk. If we distract her and keep from ruining our plans, we are getting what we need for a purpose of our [Order].

?: So no attack for now, I guess? Or are we going to make one more move now? I am ready, though I am gonna die someday …

?1: We are gonna wait. I don't know if you have heard already, but that man known as Kaiba Seto – or just Mr Kaiba – is organizing a tournament. A dueling tournament, something like Battle City years ago. [Void] has allowed me chose few representatives, so we could use this event for [Void]'s purposes. By the way – know what is the best for us in this situation, my friend, hah? Know it?

?: That nobody knows about our existence, meaning we cannot be treated as neither a terrorist organization nor just criminals?

?1: BINGO!

Shinyshore City's Outskirts. 6:00 pm.

Jane: Ryoga-kun, may I borrow you my Mamoswine? Because you seem to fail again and again and I feel like you are in a big trouble …

Ryoga: Sorry, Jane-chan, I want to finish it by myself … People are calling me "Shark", meaning that if I want to tame that big fish – I must use my strength only! I want it recognize me as its master, as one who is worthy to command …!

Jane: Ryoga-kun – Pokémons are not servants neither pets, they are allies, they are friends. Treat your Pokémons as your brothers and sisters, not as your army who serves you without any question!

Ryoga: Jane-chan, I know because I date a Pokémon meaning I am always gojng to respect those creatures or it shall be a total paradox then.

Jane: fine, look and try catching it, I believe in you – Ryoga-kun. I believe you are able to tame it by yourself without a help of my Mamoswine.

Ryoga had been just facing a Sharpedo – who had been looking pretty bigger than it would be usually supposed to be and even … shiny. Yes, first ever Pokémon encounter of Ryoga turned into a literal shiny hunting. Though neither Jane nor Ryoga had used to be caring about that fact: Jane especially who had some experience and who had no interest in seeking for any Shiny Pokémon at all.

Suddenly a heavy raining had started, covering the whole area – including Shinyshore City itself, making sky around dark.

Jane: Ryoga-kun, it is a Rain Dance. Careful with that, it raises Water-type moves power, meaning you should be careful since now!

Ryoga: may I wait till this rain ends? Never thought Pokémons of such level can change a weather, to be honest … By the way, I just remember that powerful Duel Monsters only like Osiris the Holy Dragon can do the same … Though I may be mistaking since I don't know every single existing cards at all …

Jane: you are right – Rain Dance is not permanent neither it ends if you faint its user only, anyway – again, be very careful till it ends. Or use your WATER attribute cards, Rain Dance must be able to affect them in similar way too!

Ryoga: that's a good idea by the way … wait, are Dragon-type monsters good against Water-type ones? I don't know …

Jane: unfortunately, no, but Water-type heats way weaker since dragons are Elemental Masters, but I am not sure if Type can be treated in same way as Attribute … Wait, I know. Try combining it with either traps or spells or all together!

Ryoga: Jane-chan, it would be pretty … pretty hard and long, but wait, I know what I can do with that! I have it!

Jane: what are you saying? Wait, are you going to use THAT card? Ryoga-kun, don't! It is a very very very very very bad idea!

Ryoga: no worries, it is not what have you thought about, Jane-chan – otherwise I would make a lot of mess here now. Ok, time to finish! I activate a card, [Big Jaws]! [Big Jaws], attack this Sharpedo now!

Jane: [Big Jaws]? Sounds good … Think it would be a good rival for this Shiny Sharpedo … Btw, Ryoga – you remember, it is your last move with cards? Once you use it, you cannot use it again outside of duel, Ryoga-kun! Remember that!

Ryoga: fine! Ok, [Big Jaws], let me ride you. No worries, I am not going to make you feel bad, you know me for ages! Let's go!

Ryoga rode [Big Jaws] from above, without any kind of equipment like stable or something else similar to it. In fact, that out of all known Pokémons, [Big Jaws] had been reminding of Lanturn – an Electric/Water Type fish-like Pokemon - made Sharpedo feel kinda uncomfortable. Despite the fact that Lanturn has a pretty adorable appearance despite the fact what kind of a real life animal it reminds, it has a powerful type advantage over warrior shark Pokémon at all. In other words, it couldn't simply underestimate it at all.

Jane: Ryoga-kun, seems like your duel monster reminds this Shiny Sharpedo of Lanturn … A fish-like Pokémon who is partly Electric type …

Ryoga: what does it mean, Jane-chan? Sorry, I am yet to learn about those creatures … with your help, of course …

Jane: well, Ryoga-kun, there are 18 types of Pokémons known and discovered so far … For example, I am a Ghost/Dragon type Pokémon.

Ryoga: wait, Jane-chan, aren't you here and alive like never? What does it mean - you are a [Ghost] type, Jane-chan!?

Jane: there is nothing to worry about in my very own case, Ryoga-kun. My Ghost typing means my body is different from a physical one most of known creatures do have.

Ryoga: Jane-chan, don't scare me like that please, I thought you died for a moment because of what you have just said!

Jane: Ryoga-kun, you have too much of negative inside, be more positive. And yet, better concentrate on your prey!

Jane had been looking annoyed, yet she had been careful about one of her boyfriends' trying to tame a shark-like Pocket Monster. Ryoga, still being both shocked and confused after Jane's words about Pokémon typing, had been looking pretty exhausted – yet, he couldn't give up yet and at all. He could use just this card, then he will be forced to use nothing but his very own powers.

Ryoga: I, Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 – declare you, a Sharpedo – my servant!

Jane: wait, Ryoga-kun, what are you supposing to do? "Ma-an, that guy is weird time by time I should say to myself …"

Sharpedo got pumped while being annoyed by what Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 had just said to it. Seems like Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 had decided to use one very risky but very good strategy: to provoke an opponent. Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 knew that sharks are pretty hot-tempered animals and he guessed it right that it would work on a shark-like Pokémon who is technically not a Pocket Monster by it is very own self at all.

Jane: "well, Ryoga-kun, guess you can distract its very own mind by your actions for now, guess you are doing it completely right … Ryoga Kamishiro-kun aka Shark-kun aka Nasch-kun the Barian Emperror-kun aka Master-kun # 101, you must've found the most perfect decision in this very own case!"

Ryoga: TAKE THIS, SHARPEDO! I use a [Poke Ball] with an effect of turning you into my very own and very first Pokemon ever! I, Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 – declare you as my very first Pokémon!

Once Poke Ball reached and touched Shiny Sharpedo's head, it sucked it into itself, felt down on a water surface and started to shake. Because of what Poke Ball are being made of – appricorns from all around the Johto region – it couldn't get drown.

Ryoga: and what's now? Why is it shaking, Jane-chan? What to do next? I am not sure, what if it breaks out?

Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101-kun, just wait. If it breaks out … well then – you have 4 more Poke Balls in use.

Shinyshore City. PokeCenter. 9 pm.

Jane: in fact, it took you 9 hours to do, though you had no any Pokémon in your team … Congratulations, anyway!

Ryoga: well I doubt I would fail, I never thought local sharks are that strong anyway … sorry if offended.

Jane: there is no reason to apologize, Ryoga-kun. You did achieve what I have just tried to teach you about.

Ryoga: thanks, Jane-chan, for being my very own Pokémon Professor, I feel a big gratitude – I really do, Jane-chan …

Jane blushed by words of Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101, especially when he had started to hug her and kissed suddenly. Ryoga Kamishiro aka Shark aka Nasch the Barian Emperror aka Master # 101 couldn't simply let his girlfriend go for now, through holding a Poke Ball, containing a Shiny Sharpedo – his the very first Pokemon, his the very first shiny – he had just healed …
