Your next dose of Buffy is here
Recap: Buffy wrote in her diary about Angel and how she will be ok when he leaves again and she kind of understands why he is going again. She feels guilty about putting her Slayer duties first and Angel second. Angel convinced her to go to The Bronze to see Willow and Xander promising to be there next to her the entire time. Buffy suddenly ran out to get sick and Angel took her home.
Thank you for coming back, I am very excited for this chapter. Buffy is finally going to come face to face with her attacker and we're going to see what she is going to do and how Angel reacts to him as well. I have been looking forward to posting this chapter for a little while now so I'm glad it's finally time for you to read it.
Trigger Warning – Rape details
I know there was some issue with the update last week, hopefully there won't be any problems this week!

Built Up Walls: Chapter 12: Him
Buffy
I felt so stupid for running out of The Bronze last night so I was going back there tonight. Angel thought I should leave it another couple of days but I was sick of being this helpless victim that was started to get scared of her own shadow. I cannot let that evil and sick little man ruin my life and ruin a place like The Bronze for me, Angel was right, I had so many happy memories there and I shouldn't allow one bad one to ruin it for me. It was time I pulled myself together and started getting my life back because being too scared to leave the house was not going to help me and I was The Slayer, I had to get back to that before I end up with a massacre on my hands. I don't have time to be this poor victim when other lives depending on me being The Slayer and doing my duty. I was looking at myself in the mirror this morning and I didn't even recognise myself, I didn't look like the same Buffy from a couple of weeks ago... I looked like the ghost of Buffy.
Angel was coming with me to The Bronze like he did last night and like last night he promised to be by my side the entire time and be there for me. I have to admit I will feel safer knowing that he's there but he will be leaving soon so I can't start depending on him for protection every time I leave the house or I will be back to square one and I don't think he'd come back a second time. I need to be strong and get through this.
I walked down the stairs and saw Angel standing at the bottom waiting for me, he smiled when he saw me making me blush. He always had that effect on me. I got to the bottom of the stairs and he kissed my cheek.
"You look beautiful," He commented.
"You look gorgeous honey," My mom said from the living room, she had a large smile on her face.
"Are you sure you'll be ok here mom?" I asked.
"I'll be absolutely fine. Go and have some fun," She said.
"I plan on it." I replied.
Angel opened the front door and held out his hand which I took.
We decided to walk to The Bronze and get some fresh air, it was a lovely evening and there were still a lot of people out. Angel held my hand as we walked and he looked content, I felt content too. Just walking down the street hand in hand with Angel felt so right and normal, like our hands were made to be together. His hand rough and large, holding onto my small soft hand and the pad of his thumb making calming circles on the back of my hand... this was what I have always wanted.
They say there is always one person you feel at 'home' with and I used to think it was my mom but then I met Angel and my whole life changed. Angel is home now; his scent, the feel of his skin, his eyes and his smile make me feel like I'm protected, safe and loved. There really is no better feeling than this and I'm thankful for all of the time Angel and I have had together, I know it's not going to last but I'm happy he's back so I can experience all of this one more time before he goes.
"What are you smiling about?" Angel asked as we crossed the street.
"You," I answered with a wide smile. Angel smiled and placed a kiss on the top of my head "I know I've said it before but I'm going to say it again; thank you for coming back, it really means the world to me," I told him.
"There really is no other place I'd rather be." He replied.
"I-"
A loud scream from the park across the road cut me off. Angel and I took one glance at one another before we started running across the road to the park. Angel held onto my hand as we ran, he pushed the bushes out of the way so we could get through and then we saw a girl, she was lying on the ground and a man was sitting on her. She was trying to fight him off but she was losing. I stopped running and let go of Angel's hand, he carried on going and tackled the guy off her and to the ground. The man got up and started running away and Angel went to go after him but stopped and turned to find me.
I walked over to Angel who was now kneeling down next to the woman, I approached and saw that her shirt was ripped but still covering her and she was pretty out of it. I kneeled down next to Angel and took hold of the woman's hand, her eyes started closing.
"Who was he?" Angel asked her.
"The Bronze," She muttered "We... at... The Bronze," She closed her eyes but she was still breathing.
"She's been drugged," I stated "That was him," I added in panic and started looking around the park for someone who might be watching, maybe Angel didn't completely scare him off and he was still here "We need to call an ambulance for her," I told him.
"Buffy-"
"Call an ambulance for her. I'm going to The Bronze and I'm going to find this guy, I'm not allowing this to happen to someone else," I said and stood up but Angel grabbed hold of my hand before I could start walking away "Stay here with her until the ambulance gets here." I told him and yanked my hand out of his and started walking in the direction he ran off in.
I will not allow this to happen to another girl. He will not have any more victims, he has ruined enough lives as it is already and he will not ruin another one. I am The Slayer and I don't care how wrong it is for The Slayer to kill a human... he needs slaying so he can be stopped and not do this to anyone else.
A stick cracking turned my head and I saw him, just a flash, he was in the trees and he was watching me. He obviously doesn't know that I'm The Slayer and what kind of powers I possess. If he thinks he can freak me out by watching me from the trees then he is mistaken.
I turned away from where he was watching to make him think he was winning and he had the upper hand but I could hear his movements. He has heavy footsteps and big boots on by the sound of it. I walked 10 steps away and stopped but he didn't, he kept moving thinking he was being clever and stealthy but he wasn't. He was about to walk straight into my trap and his time was about to be up.
His footsteps started running towards me and at the last second I turned to face him, kicking him to the ground. He fell hard and loud. I looked him in the face and recognised it, this was definitely the same person, he was about to get what he deserved.
"I remember you," He breathed out as he tried to sit up but I kicked him back down.
"Do you remember what I said to you?" I questioned.
"You said your face was going to be the last face I saw before I died," He laughed and pushed himself up to stand "Now sweetheart, let's be honest, you're not going to kill me. You don't have it in you to kill someone." He teased.
I punched him in the face and again and again. I kicked him down to the floor again and sat on top of him as I punched him in the face over and over again. He put his hands up to fight back but I broke his wrist with one simple movement, I put my hand to his throat and started squeezing.
"Still think I don't have it in me?" I asked him "I have been dreaming about the different ways to kill you but I am definitely going to torture you first and there are so many ways to do that; electrocution, pulling your teeth out, pulling your nails out, burn and brand you and my personal favourite... castration. So many fun ways," I explained.
"You haven't got the guts," He spat.
"I'm not squeamish," I replied.
"Buffy!"
Angel appeared and rushed over to me and placed his hand on my shoulder.
"Don't kill him," He said calmly.
"He has to die!" I shouted.
"Let go," Angel ordered.
I hesitated but I let go of his throat and Angel helped me stand up "The ambulance have just taken the girl to hospital. They paramedic said she's going to be fine but she'll probably have a headache tomorrow, the police are on their way down here. Let them take him away and deal with him," He tried to reason.
"No," I replied harshly "I promised him that I was going to kill him, I don't break my promises," I told Angel as he grabbed hold of my arm to stop me. I yanked myself free from me and stood over my attacker, the one that had me scared to leave me own house. The piece of shit that nearly ruined me... he didn't look so scary lying there like that; near to crying, holding a broken wrist and bruises around his neck.
"Remember what you told me; killing him will not change what he did. Please do not kill him Buffy. Let him go to prison and be someone's bitch, he won't do well in prison, they will make him suffer in there," Angel told me.
"She was amazing you know. She was so tight and warm; her breasts were full, perky and soft. Her skin felt like silk against mine, I just couldn't get enough of her," He said with a laugh so I kicked him in the ribs and was sure I heard a couple of them crack.
Angel hands turned to fists and he began to shake in anger but he was holding himself back, he wanted to kill him as much as I did but for some reason he was holding back and showing a lot of restraint.
"She showed me a real good time!"
"Please, don't kill him," Angel pleaded although I think he was beginning to lose his patience.
"Yeah, please don't kill me," He mocked.
"You didn't listen to me when I was pleading with you!" I shouted at him as he lay on the ground "You didn't listen to the other girls as they pleaded with you! Why should I give you mercy? Why should I let you get to live the rest of your life when you have destroyed so many others?" My fist clenched and started to shake, it took a lot for me not to carry on hitting him.
"Don't do it," Angel whispered.
"He didn't stop," I argued with Angel "When he forcibly took my clothes off and clawed my legs apart as I lost consciousness... he didn't stop when I was begging and pleading with him. He didn't even stick around to make sure I was alive afterwards; he just left me in the alley like day old trash! He doesn't deserve mercy!" I shouted "He clawed at my body like I was a lion's diner. He never showed me or any of his other victims any mercy so he doesn't deserve any either," I finished.
"Prison is not a mercy," Angel stated.
"He gets to live, that is mercy," I told him.
"He gets to live in a prison as someone's bitch... he's not going to live a pleasant and happy life, he'll probably kill himself within the year," Angel said
I looked down at him lying on the ground still. He was still in pain and holding his broken wrist, he looked pathetic. How did he cause so much pain and misery to so many people, he doesn't even look like much lying there. How did I let this worm nearly destroy my life?
I heard sirens coming. The police. I had to make this choice now, do I kill him and tell the police it was in self defence, they would believe that as he was the one that originally attacked me. I wouldn't go to prison and I'm sure the police wouldn't mind that serial rapist was dead but was Angel right; would killing him mark my soul?
Angel gently touched my hand and then interlocked his fingers with mine. The sirens stopped and then there was a lot of boots running and people shouting, I let Angel take me a couple of steps away from him and he wrapped an arm around me. I started crying, once again, the police appeared and Angel indicated to the scumbag lying on the ground.
"What happened to him?" One of the officers asked.
"He got caught," Angel replied.
"We're going to need to get him to a hospital before we take him to the station," Another officer said.
"Can we get a statement?" The first officer asked.
"I want to get her home. It's been hell of a night; can we do it there later on or tomorrow?" Angel questioned.
"Of course."
Angel started walking us away from the scene.
Was this really all over? It doesn't seem real. To me he was the Bogeyman or something, I was so scared to leave my house and be alone because of him but when it came down to it he was nothing, I didn't even break a sweat kicking his ass. It seems too easy to me that it's all over, he was going to be taken to the police station and charged for what he did to me and the other women and then he was going to go to court where he would receive a prison sentence... wouldn't he? There's no way he was going to get away with it, was there? Oh God, what if the jury doesn't find him guilty? I don't want him back on the streets doing this to anyone else.
Was it really all over?
So Buffy finally came face to face with the man that attacked her and she had a very tough choice to make. Did she make the right choice? Was Angel right in stopping her killing him? Is this really the end of it for Buffy? Should she be worried about him ever coming back?
I just want to explain something very quickly; I haven't given the attacker a name and there is a reason for it. Although the story is about Buffy being raped and dealing with it, the rapist doesn't need a name because he's not central to this story and being nameless means he doesn't exist and something that doesn't exist can't harm you... do you understand what I mean? I've probably explained that really horribly, if you need help understanding it more please let me know and I'll do my best to explain further.
Thank you so much for reading. I really hoped you enjoyed this chapter, I did enjoy writing it and I had many different scenarios for them to come face to face but I think this was the better one. I liked the idea of Angel and Buffy being there to stop him hurting someone else.
