Welcome back to the Mortal Kombat intros! Today, a character many have said I maligned unfairly enters the arena. That's right, it's time for Raiden. But before I do, I want to address something on the last time he showed up. The last time I covered Raiden, in my Injustice Intros, most of my research came from the first timeline of Mortal Kombat, the "Midway Timeline" we'll call it, not the "Netherrealm Studios Timeline" that we're currently in. This time, that won't be the case. So let's do this!

Raiden: I sense you still do not trust me.

Spyro: Given both timelines I've seen, I've got my doubts.

Raiden: You wound me, Spyro.

Spyro: So Dark Raiden's gone, right?

Raiden: Physically yes, but he is still part of my soul.

Spyro: I get that feeling.

Raiden: You too have a dark state?

Spyro: Let's hope for everyone's sake Dark Spyro and Dark Raiden don't meet.

Raiden: For the sake of all, I concur.

Spyro: So with the Elder Gods dead, do the rules of Mortal Kombat still apply?

Raiden: Since Cetrion still lives, it is highly likely.

Spyro: Let's hope for everyone's sake they still are.

Raiden: You are your realm's Protector?

Spyro: I am one of many, yes.

Raiden: Your humility is refreshing.

Spyro: If you go bad again, what's protecting this realm from you?

Raiden: Fujin has taken it upon himself to defend mortals from any threat.

Spyro: So what does that say about you?

Raiden: I worry Earthrealm's defenses are not enough.

Spyro: You know where to find us if you need us, Raiden.

Raiden: Your vigilance and readiness is all I ask for.

Spyro: What the heck happened to the timeline?

Raiden: Kronika has returned.

Spyro: How the hell is that even possible?!

Raiden: The next generation is blessed to have your council.

Spyro: In all honesty, I find it ironic, since I know nothing about dragon culture.

Raiden: Even so, your wisdom astounds me.

Spyro: I don't trust people calling themselves gods.

Raiden: You will find I am nothing like Malefor.

Spyro: I'll be the judge of that, Raiden.

Quick Question: Is anyone else just curious to know whether the rules of Mortal Kombat still apply if the Elder Gods somehow die? It seems just glossed over in the story of Mortal Kombat 11. Or does Cetrion's continued presence mean it still applies just because of her. Somebody get this to Ed Boon! We need to know!
