Author's Note:
This is the request of a guest user, who asked for Percabeth during the final battle at CHB. Sorry it took so long!
Also, some text is from the final Battle in BoO, and anything that is Rick's writing and not mine will be italicized. (Changed a bit to fit into the scene better. Sorry Uncle Rick, for messing up your beautiful story)
Cheers!

Count on them
Percy and Annabeth stumbled out of dragon-Frank's claws, right into a raging battle. A little ways off, Reyna called, "About time! Glad you could join us!"
"We had some giants to kill!" Piper answered
"Excellent! Help yourself to some barbarians." Then Jason, Piper, and Reyna all disappeared from sight into the tumult.
A cyclops found its way behind them, and tried to knock Annabeth over the head. Percy spun around and stabbed it, ignoring the empousa that had been attacking him. In response, Annabeth dropped down, and rolled underneath his sword arm, turning the vampire-monster to dust as she tried to sink her claws into Percy.
He offered her a hand up. "Thanks." they said at the same time.
They fought back-to-back, taking care of each other as naturally and fluidly as they did themselves. At one point, Nico joined them as they waded through their opponents. It was a welcome addition, as they were close to being overwhelmed by a group of telkhines. Normally it wouldn't have been a problem, but twenty on two wasn't a fair fight. With the son of Hades's help, they quickly disposed of the problem.
They fought by Nico for another few rallies or two, before Will ran over and said something to him. "I have to go!" he shouted over the din of battle. The two disappeared into the crowd.
"Percy! The beach! Can you do anything?" Annabeth asked, having to yell to be heard.
"Too far away to have good control. I'd need to-"
"Then why don't we just go over there?"
"You don't have to come with."
"With your seaweed brain, yes I do."
The two struggled toward the shore. Several monsters followed them, but Annabeth held them off, allowing Percy precious seconds to make his way to the water. Unfortunately, their escapade attracted the attention of a much larger group of barbarians. As the daughter of Athena cut down the last few of their pursuers, the mob was on top of her.
"Percy! Any day now would be nice!"
A torrent of water shot through the monster ranks, completely ignoring Annabeth, but crushing the enemy. It receded, and rejoined a wave that was conspicuously not in the middle of the water. Even more conspicuous was the demigod sitting on the top of it. He nodded, and the water grabbed Annabeth, and seated her next to him, before rolling back towards the battle.
Now with a large source of water, they tore through the ranks until-
"Little fools. The paltry magic of your statue cannot contain me."
The fear among the demigods was palpable.
"Stand fast!" Piper shouted. "Greeks and Romans, we can fight her together!"
The charmspeak flowed over them, reminding them of their courage. In fact, Gaea wasn't any scarier than what they had seen in Tartarus-or in fact, Tartarus himself.
"The whole earth is my body. How would you fight the goddess of-"
What happened next, was unexpected to say the least. Gaea was there one moment and then-
"Pipes! Jason! You coming? The fight is up here!"
"That idiot!" Annabeth shouted. "What does he think he's doing?"
"No idea. Let's go help him. Wait! Frank can fly the rest of us up there! We can all-"
"You're even more of an idiot right now!" Annabeth called, but she doubted he heard her. There was a brief exchange between Jason, Frank, and Percy, but her focus was quickly drawn to the wave of monstrous forces that had gained the momentum after Gaea's appearance. "Hey! Problem over here!" She continued hacking off limbs, as Percy joined her.
There was a short lull in the battle. "Hey. You okay?" Annabeth asked.
"Yeah, I guess. Just wish I could be helping up there." Percy pointed toward the bronze dragon holding the angry earth goddess.
"They'll be fine. Jason, Piper, and Leo are smart. I'm sure they know what they're doing. Take care of you. They'll come back."
"You don't sound sure."
"Percy, when you're a demigod, can you be sure of anything?"
"Well when you put it that way…"
"The answer is yes, Seaweed Brain. You can be sure that your friends can count on you and that you can count on them. If we don't trust them to complete the quest-"
"Alright. But it doesn't mean I have to like it."
"No, I guess it doesn't. But it does mean you have to deal with it." she gave him a peck on the cheek.
Overhead, a screaming load from an onager flew towards Festus and the Earth mother. There was a fiery explosion and then-
"Oh, Styx. Look." Annabeth said, already taking off running. Percy saw exactly what the problem was. Someone was falling out of the sky. Overtaking them were Hazel on Arion, Frank in dragon form, and several giant golden eagles, but they still kept running.
"That." Annabeth muttered out breathing hard. "Idiot! I knew it!"
"What?" Percy asked
"He had the right idea, getting her away from the earth. But if Leo had gotten that far, he knew what would happen to him."
"Gods, you don't mean."
"If I'm right."
"You're always right."
"Then for once, we better hope I'm not."
"Annabeth." He stopped, and grabbed her arm, forcing her to look at him. "Count on our friends. Leo's got this. And we still have the cure." It was only as they'd stopped that he noticed she was shaking. He placed a kiss on her forehead, and wrapped her in a hug to calm her down.
"I'm glad I can count on you Seaweed brain."
Author's Note:
I think I stared a blank document for hours on end for at least a week. I don't know what it was, but for some reason, my brain said, "Mmmmmmnope, not feeling like being creative today. Or tomorrow. Or the day after. So I apologize for the wait, it's been over a month.
The request:
"How about some good old Percabeth? Maybe POV during the final battle at CHB, or after the underwater kiss scene?"
Ah, as you can see, I did the former. Thank you, my muse!
I will try, try TRY to have the next one out in half the time it took for this one, but life likes to get in the way.
That's all I have to say, besides stay safe, and have a lovely day!
