Meanwhile, Hans and the rest of the search party tread cautiously towards the castle as Chameleon, disguised as a palace guard, grinned.
Hans then turned to everyone to give them a warning. "We are here to find Princess Anna. Be on guard for the villains, but no harm is to come to the Queen. Do you understand?"
The Duke's thugs exchange a look as Mack seemed to be the only one who spotted that and was getting ready for anything they had to throw.
But he was not ready for a mass of snow that suddenly began to rise from the ground behind Hans. It was Marshmallow, Elsa's snow guard who had fully recovered since his last battle with Dr. Ock and Mr. Negative.
The snowman slammed his fist inches from Hans who deftly dodged and got out of the way.
All of the guards began to take up arms against Marshmallow, throwing their spears and arrows while Chameleon just watched, not helping. Mack acted defensively as he used his shotgun-axe to help.
But that only caused the snowman to get angrier and knocked them over into a snowbank. Marshmallow continues to throw a guard and his horse, who topple over Hans.
Marshmallow raised his foot to stomp on Hans, but he barrel-rolls himself to safety as Hans quickly drew his sword, as Elsa peeked out the front doors where the Duke's two guards, Chameleon, and Mack saw her.
"The Queen!" One exclaims as the two charge up the stairs, followed by Chameleon, who had once again shapeshifted into one of the Duke's thugs before tackling the one he looks like as he trips him off the edge as nobody noticed.
Mack then claws his way out of the snow and ran after them as they somehow got easily past Marshmallow as he fought Hans and the other men.
The guards burst through the ice doors just to notice Elsa flees to the top floor of her palace.
"The Queen!" Chameleon announces.
"Come on!" The guard says as they begin to race up after her.
Mack seemed to be the only one able to enter the castle before he followed after them.
Upstairs, the two have trapped Elsa on the top floor, as Chameleon aimed his newly made weapon.
"Don't move, your highness, if you know what's good for you."
"No! Please..." Elsa pleaded with her arms stretched out.
Chameleon shot right at her with a dart as Elsa creates an ice shield, stopping the tranq from hitting her. She opened her eyes in shock at how she acted on impulse as Duke's remaining guard takes a crossbow and aims it at the Ice Queen.
"Stay away!" Elsa warns as she shoots more ice at them.
The guard ducked out of the way as Mack smacked him in the back of the head with the axe part of his gun.
"Back away now, Smerdyakov!" Mack shouts as he shoots at the Chameleon.
"If it ain't Mackenzie. Haven't seen you in a while." Chameleon's eyes narrowed as he pulled the gun out again.
"I just wish it was behind steel glass." Mack says before continuously shooting as Elsa is confused what is happening. "Don't worry, your highness. I work with Spider-Man." He explains to the Queen.
"You work for Spider-Man?" Elsa asked, confused how that works.
"I work with him, not for him." Mack explains to her.
"Is he here?" Elsa asks, looking towards the balcony, expecting him to make a grand entrance.
"No, he's still protecting your sister." Mack answers as Chameleon opened fire again and Mack tries to protect her.
Meanwhile, back outside, Hans was nearly crushed by Marshmallow as he rolled away and jumped to his feet.
With all his might, he slices right through Marshmallow's leg with his sword.
Marshmallow stumbles back, off balance and begins to fall over the cliff, but not before striking Hans.
Hans clings onto the edge but catches himself on the ice stairs as the other men help save him up.
Back inside, Mack shoots at Chameleon, keeping him within eyesight so that he can't immediately shapeshift into someone else to escape again.
Elsa watches as he fights, not able to get a clear shot herself when the Duke's guard wakes up and takes aim.
In a swift move, Elsa traps the guard in a cage of spikes against the wall and one positioned at his neck to keep him there.
She then looks to Chameleon, who was near the balcony and created a wall of ice, pushing the man up against the doors which began to crack until the balcony doors shatter.
The shapeshifter is then pushed as far as to the edge and was inches away from falling to his death, but while neither was able to see, he waited for an opportunity as he had one more trick to pull from his bag of disguises.
Hans and the rest of the men run in as they all saw the destruction and the guard.
"Queen Elsa! Don't be the monster they fear you are." Hans called out causing Elsa to snap out of her rage as she looked and saw the men, frightened as she was moments from killing them.
Elsa looks to Hans and Mack, overwhelmed, frightened as the duke raised the crossbow and gets a shot as he aims it at Elsa.
Hans and Mack quickly caught this as the Prince quickly made a plan and rushed at the guard pushed the crossbow up just as the bow releases.
The arrow hits the ice chandelier, hanging directly above Elsa and Mack swiftly pushed the Ice Queen out of the way of the falling ice when someone grabbed him from behind.
The chandelier crashed down as the ice smashed like glass; the impact knocking Elsa out as some of the men went to check up on her and Hans went to check on Mack as he pulled him out of the ice.
"You all right, Mr. Mackenzie?" Hans asks as he helps Mack stand.
"I'll live." Mack promised as he got back up and wiped the ice off of himself. "What about the Queen?" He asked as Hans turned to her as the men gave him a nod.
"She'll be okay." Hans says before turning to the others. "Arrest that man for attempt on her life, they will stand trail once this is over."
They quickly arrested the Dukes guard but couldn't seem to find Chameleon anywhere.
"Where did he go?" Hans wonders.
"He must have gotten away during the confusion." Mack took a guess. "We can't leave her here, he could just come back and take her when she's alone."
"We'll take her back to Arendelle, put lock her up in a cell...for her own safety." Hans ordered. "Hopefully, we can get her to tell us where Anna is and bring back summer."
Mack nodded and being the strongest of them helped carry her out, what Hans didn't know that Mack pulled a shot a stuck it in the Queen's arm and drew some of her blood.
Still unconscious, Elsa slightly winced as Mack, with the shoot of her blood, turned back to the smashed chandelier where the real Mackenzie lied buried and unconscious.
Elsa wakes up later to find herself locked up in a cell in the castle where she took notice of the window and runs towards it but is stopped by the chains on her hands, she strains to look out the window and notices Arendelle is completely frozen and covered in snow.
"Oh, no. What have I done?" She whispered, seeing Peter was right.
Just then, Hans entered her cell as Elsa turned to him.
"Why did you bring me here?" Elsa asks, knowing she's less safer here than in her castle.
"I couldn't just let them kill you." Hans replied.
"But I'm a danger to Arendelle." Elsa argued. "Get Anna."
"Anna has not returned." Hans replied.
Elsa turns to look at the window with worry. "What about Peter?"
Hans looks confused as to what she means. "We didn't know Peter left with her." Elsa now looks confused as to how nobody noticed as he continued. "If you would just stop the winter, bring back summer. Please."
"Don't you see? I can't." Elsa whispered with tears in her eyes. "You have to tell them to let me go."
"I will do what I can." Hans promised and turned to leave as Elsa looks down at her shackled hands and saw the shackles begin to freeze over with her powers.
She knew that she wasn't in the cell that was made to hold her as she could see that Azazel was still locked up in that cell, hearing his screams and slams as he hits against the walls of the cell.
Elsa then just looked back at her chains as they continued to freeze over and weaken with time, seeing she might have to wait for them to get weak in order to get out.
Back with the others, Peter had gotten everyone up the cliff side of the North Mountain, wanting to get there faster as he used his webs to carry Sven as Olaf, Anna, and Kristoff sat on the reindeer on his back whilst Scott was flying on Anttony.
"Okay, so, the queen has ice powers, can create living snowmen, and people sporadically break into song like it's normal?" Scott recaps everything Peter's been telling him about this place as he grows back to normal size and Peter pulls everyone up.
"What, that not happen a lot back home?" Anna asks the two heroes.
"No! That's crazy." Scott states. "I mean, I joined in with the trolls because it seemed fun, but you're saying it's normal?"
"Yep. Trust me, it's weird." Peter said as he starts stretching from the climb.
"You know, I never really heard you sing other than back there with the trolls." Anna stated to Peter.
"That's because, once again, back where we're from, and mostly everywhere else, nobody goes around singing like you guys." Peter explains.
"Unless we're talking Karaoke Night at the Tower." Scott chuckles and Peter rolls his eyes.
"We agreed never speak of that night again." Peter reminds him, still remembering Tony's terrible singing voice.
"So, I guess it's a pretty big change coming here for you guys?" Anna guessed.
"Yeah, it's pretty strange, to say the least. But Arendelle's actually a pretty nice place. At least when you forget about the super villains who are trying to kill me." Peter admitted with a shrug.
"Can we continue this conversation later? Right now, we need to get you to your new girlfriend as soon as possible." Scott reminded them they needed to get moving.
"She's not my girlfriend!" Peter replied in annoyance before turning to Anna. "And before we do go any further, I have the feeling I'm gonna have to warn you not to try and pick a fight against anyone bigger than you. In this case, of course I mean Marshmallow, Rhino, just about anyone we've already met. Now, don't get me wrong we fight guys who are bigger and stronger than us all the time. In his case literally." He said, nodding towards Scott. "And it's not as easy as we make it look; with great power, comes-"
"Please don't say it again!" Scott pleads.
"Say what again?" Kristoff asks.
"It's like his catchphrase; 'With great power, comes great responsibility.' Trust me, innocent the first time, but gets annoying the thirtieth time." Scott says while covering his ears. "It means if you can do something to help others, you should do it. If you don't, then whatever happens, its on you."
"That about sums it up, yeah." Peter guesses with a shrug. "It was the last words of my Uncle before he died."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. But what am I'm supposed to do? I don't have powers or any special abilities." Anna said as she nodded towards Scott and herself. "How do we fight if you're off fighting off one of your villians and the others come after us? I mean, Kristoff can handle himself but I really can't."
Peter gave it a moment of thought before deciding they might have a minute, and if the Sinister Six are waiting for them up there, she's gotta learn something about fighting. "All right, put 'em up, Princess."
Anna stood there in shock as she sees what he was doing. "Seriously?"
Peter nodded as he put his fist up. "Yeah, come on. You need to fend for yourself, I'm gonna teach you how. Mulan style. Classical, not the remake."
Anna turned to Kristoff as he and Scott shrugged so she put her fist up as Peter began to instruct her on some simple maneuvers to keep her alive.
"Now, first thing's first; don't let the adrenaline get to you. Breath in slow." Peter instructed Anna who took a deep breath as he continued. "Breath deeps. Relax. Keep your hips squared to your opponent. Let your opponent make the first move. Then use your feet, and once they go off balance, look for a opening and make your move." He instructed as he placed her hand to his face.
Anna lightly punched him as instructed. "Like that?"
Peter nodded as she seemed to be getting it. "Yeah, that's it." They then went back to their original stances as he gets ready for her to hit. "Okay. Now, only this time, let me have it. Right in the jaw. I promise you, I can take-"
Before he finished, Anna punched Peter in the face and sent him toppling back into the snow.
"Oops! Sorry. Sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't-" Anna quickly started apologizing as Peter just chuckled.
"No, no, no, it's all good." Peter assured her. "You keep it up and you'll be fine."
"Really?" Anna asked.
"Yeah." Peter promises her, causing Anna to smile. "Although, you might want to leave the super armed guys and powered villains to me and Scott, because it's more likely that you'll end up hurting you before hurting them."
"Fair enough." Anna agreed.
"Hey, guys, we might want to get moving if we want to beat Hans to Elsa." Kristoff warns them.
Anna nodded in agreement. "Right, let's go." As soon as they kept walking, Anna turned to Peter. "Hey, Peter...thanks."
"Anytime." Peter promised and walked off as Anna looked at her fist as she smiled.
"Super villains, watch out! There's a new hero in the Kingdom!" Anna cheered.
"Cool down there, Black Widow." Scott tells her as they continue to walk.
"Who?" Anna asks.
"Explain later!" Peter tells Scott as they keep walking.
"So, you and Peter know each other well?" Anna asks Scott.
"Yeah, we met a few years ago during a big battle to stop a guy named Thanos who wanted to kill half of all life in the universe." Scott explains. "We defeated him, easily."
"Not how I'd put it!" Peter told him as he could feel the bruises from that fight on another planet. He and Tony met a group called the Guardians and fought the titan, but failed to stop him. Luckily, Thor came in at the last second and chopped of his arm so he couldn't snap no matter what.
"And he was with Gwen at that time?" Anna wondered.
"Yeah, up to two years ago when she died." Scott answered. "Me and the guys all tried our best to help him out and we got nowhere as he promised he would never love again to keep others safe. Little did we think a vacation was all he needed!" He says loud enough for Peter could hear.
"I'm not in love with Elsa!" Peter did his best to try and stop them.
"Come on! We could easily see it at the party. Why don't you see it?" Anna asks him.
"It's so obvious, why don't you just admit it?" Kristoff asks as Peter just kept walking as suddenly, slow music began to fill the air and Scott begins to look around confused.
"Where's that music coming from?" Scott asks them all.
"Me and Elsa. Yeah, that'll never happen. I mean, she can do so much better than me, easily. And like I keep telling everyone; heroes like me never get the girl." Peter says to himself as he keeps walking up towards her castle. "If there's a prize for worst hero, I guess I've already won that." He says while leaning against the rock wall.
"Why is he singing?" Scott asks as Sven smacks him with his side, dropping Scott into the snow face first. "Did anyone see that?! The reindeer just smacked me!"
"I am not worth the aggravation. That's ancient history for me, been there, done that!" Peter keeps singing as he keeps going up the mountain.
"Who do 'ya think you're kidding? She's the Earth and heaven to you. You're trying to keep it hidden. Buddy, we can see right through you." Anna and Kristoff began singing at him as Scott watches in confusion as to what's happening. "You can't conceal it. We know how you feel and who you're thinkin' of!"
"No chance, no way! I won't say it, oh no." Peter promised as he kept going through the snow and comes across several ice statues Elsa might've made by accident during her song sequence.
"You swoon, you sigh at the thought. Why deny it?" Anna asks. "I don't know."
"It's too cliché, I won't say it!" Peter keeps on saying as Kristoff and Anna shrug, still not understanding why he doesn't want to admit it. "I thought my heart has learned it's lesson. It's always amazing when you start out. My mind is still screaming 'get a grip, man'. Unless you are ready to cry your heart out!"
"You keep on trying to keep on denying who you are and how you're feeling. Trust me, we're not buying. Buddy, we see you and her hit the ceiling. Face it like a grown-up when you gotta own up that you got-got-got it bad!" Anna and Kristoff told him.
"Oh, no chance, there is no way I'm gonna say it!" Peter says as he begins to cross over a small gap and nearly slips when he grabs ahold of a ice statue of Elsa that helps him rise back up.
"You can give up and givein." Anna and Kristoff told Peter as he looked into the statue of Elsa's eyes and ended up getting lost in them as they were almost identical to Elsa's.
"Check the Queen, you're in love!" Anna stated as Peter shakes himself free and keeps walking.
"This scene won't play. I'm not going to say it!" Peter stated as he smacked himself for what he was doing.
"You're doing flips. Read our lips. You're in love!" Anna, Kristoff and Olaf sings.
"You're way off base. I won't say it! Get off my case, I'm not saying...oh my god." Peter stopped when they came across the now damaged ice palace.
"No." Anna whispered as they all ran up the damaged ice stairs as Sven waited for them at the bottom.
"I don't know what to comment on first; your weird musical burst or the ice castle." Scott states as he ran up the stairs with everyone else.
"Not the time, Scott." Peter tells him as they raced to the top floor and saw it was all damaged and Elsa was no where to be seen.
Anna began to fear the worst as she whimpered. "We're too late. Elsa's..."
"Maybe not. If she were, the world would be frozen over ten over." Peter observed.
"So...we can still save you and Elsa!" Olaf cheered.
"Maybe. But first thing's first; who has her?" Scott questioned.
Just then they heard groaning as Anna turned to to the chandelier and saw a man was under there. "Someone got left behind!"
Peter ran up and pulled the man out and quickly recognized him. "Mack!"
Scott ran up and slid down to his side to check if he was breathing. "Wow. Even when a chandelier is dropped on him; nothing. We sure this guy ain't got powers?"
Just then, Mack groaned as he started to come too. "Scott, just help him out."
Mack then noticed Peter was in costume without his mask and was with the princess, another man, and a living snowman.
On any other day, this would seem strange to him.
"What happened here? Where's Elsa?" Anna asked as Mack started to sit upright while placing a hand to his head.
"Hans put together a search party to find you after your horse returned with no sign of you, then I noticed Fisk sent who I assumed was Chameleon with him. I knew they couldn't be trusted, so I volunteered to tagged along. As soon as we got here, we were attack by a Hulk sized snowman. And sadly, I'm not surprised at that by this point. One of the Duke's guards managed to sneak inside as the Chameleon changed into the other one and tossed them off the stairs. They then went after the Queen so I went to help her. We managed to stop them when Hans and the others joined us. Elsa came close to killing Chameleon in defense, and the Duke's guard tired to shoot her but Hans was able to redirect the shot and it hit the chandelier instead. I pushed her out of the way, but Chameleon grabbed me from behind and then I blacked out when the chandelier hit the ground." Mack explained while rubbing his head from the pain what happened to the group until he noticed Scott. "Wait, when did you get here, Scott?"
"Like maybe a few hours ago." Scott answers with a shrug.
"Chameleon must have taken your place during the confusion. So Hans might have Elsa but Chameleon might pretend to be Mack to get to Elsa." Peter took a wild guess.
"He probably already has. He might have a sample of Elsa's blood for the Kingpin." Scott says.
Olaf looked to Peter in confusion. "That's bad, right?"
"Yep." Peter said just as he winced again and Scott quickly caught the hero as he fell to his knees and Kristoff quickly pulled off to mask to reveal his hair got even whiter.
"Guys, it's getting worse!" Scott commented.
"Pete? What happened to you?" Mack asked in concern.
"Elsa stuck Peter's heart by accident." Anna explained.
"If the ice doesn't get removed from his heart, he'll be frozen forever." Kristoff added.
Mack groaned as he dropped down on the ice floor. "Oh, c'mon. Why can't things go our way for a change?" He asks in annoyance. "Okay, maybe some of the Avengers can remove it with surgery. They managed to remove Stark's arc reactor, they might be able to use the same treatment."
"That won't work. We went to an expert on this and only an act of true love can thaw a frozen heart." Anna told him.
Mack turned to Scott in disbelief. "You mean to tell me Pete's life depends on the most cliché thing in fairy tales and Disney movies?"
"Don't look at me, man. We just got done with a song sequence I'm still wrapping my head around." Scott states only confusing Mack more.
"Seriously, you guys too?" Anna groaned with annoyance. "It's not cliché, it's true love. And we need Elsa to do it or Peter will die."
"You and the queen?" Mack asks Peter.
"There is nothing between me and Elsa." Peter told them, getting very annoyed by these guys.
Anna was getting very irritated on how Peter has basically given up on any hope. "Why not? Everyone needs somebody, Peter. Why are you trying to shut Elsa out? Look, just because Gwen died doesn't mean you should-"
"Gwen died because of me!" Peter yelled a he slammed his fist on the ground, as he ended up cracking the ice in anger at the memory.
Everyone looked to Peter in confusion, all except for Mack and Scott since they knew all of this and felt sorry for him as they both know in their own way how it feels to loose someone.
"Wait-what? What are you talking about?" Anna asks.
Peter knelt on the ground as he sighed and rubbed his face. "Gwen and I were dating for as long as I can remember. Gwen was smart, beautiful, kind. She was always able to bring out the best of me. The best out of anyone she met; kinda reminds me of you, Anna."
Anna giggled at that as Kristoff and Olaf gave amused smiles while Peter continued explaining.
"We had a tough time telling each other how we felt at first. But then the Green Goblin came, he is the worst villian I've ever come across. He was a total psychopath…a real monster. After several battles and close calls on both sides, he discovered my identity. We fought one more time before we finally took him down. I thought the nightmare was over…but I was wrong." Peter says as he looks in sadness. "He broke out of the S.H.I.E.L.D. facility he was being kept in. I was stuck fighting the original Sinister Six, they change up members every now and again. And while I was busy fighting them, he decided to go after Gwen. He told me that he had Gwen, and she was at the Brooklyn Bridge. So, I swung over there in a heartbeat."
"The Avenges tried to get there as fast as we could. But we were still dealing with Ultron." Scott explained to them why they weren't there to help.
Peter began to have a flashback to the confrontation on the bridge, how Gwen was falling off the bridge, how he tried to save her, shooting out a web line, pulling her into an immediate stop. When he pulled her up, how he was relieved to have saved her, checked for a pulse...how there was no pulse.
Tears begin to fall down Peter's face as he finished his story. "It all happened so fast. When I saw her fall, I didn't know what to do, and it ended up getting her killed. Now I have to deal with the fact that she was killed by Spider-Man." He kept crying as his tears fall on the ice floor.
Anna had heard enough as she refuses to let Peter blame himself for this girl's death as she pulled him into a tight hug.
Peter hugged her back as Olaf, Scott, and Kristoff comforted him as well.
Mack was the only one who seemed to see this as strange as he gave a confused look. "Is this not weird to anyone else?" He's watching a princess, an ice harvester, a snowman, a man who can shrink, and a spider hero hugging in a ice palace.
Probably the strangest week of his life so far.
"It wasn't your fault, Peter." Anna whispers in a soft tone. "You weren't the one who threw her off the bridge, you were trying to save her."
"Gwen wouldn't blames you for what happened. None of us do. None of the Avengers do either." Scott agreed with them.
"But now you see that's why I can't love your sister. If someone like him knew who I was...she'd be in danger. I can't love again, Anna. For everyone's shake." Peter explained to them.
Anna knelt down in silence as the others break off as she didn't blame Peter for what happened to Gwen. And she could even understand why he doesn't want to fall in love with her sister.
He was shutting Elsa out to protect her, to try to prevent the same thing that happened to Gwen to happen to Elsa. However, that just made Anna realize that Peter needed Elsa just as mush as Elsa needed him.
"Peter, what happened in the past wasn't your fault. Elsa knows what you're going through, and you both need each other. The Sinister Six may not know who you are, but she's still in danger. You have to save her." Anna tells him as she puts her hands on his shoulders. "With great power..."
"...comes great responsibility." Peter finished with a sigh.
Anna nodded with a smile, seeing she's getting through to him for the first time this whole trip. "Exactly! I mean, look at you. You're a hero! And Gwen...she'd want you to find love again. But if you give up on your responsibility now, you'd be letting her down."
Peter began to see their points and began to rise back up. "You're right. I can't defeat Fisk or the Sinister Six if I'm dead. I have to stop them or everyone on Earth will be killed. I can't let that happen."
"That's the spirit, Spidey!" Scott cheered him on as he patted him on the back.
"And we've got you're back!" Kristoff promises.
"So...back to Arendelle?" Mack assumed before Peter stood up then thought of something, as he turned to Mack.
"Say, Macaroni...was there anything else you noticed before you blacked out?"
"Like what?" Mack wondered. "There was a lot of craziness going on at the time."
"Like did Hans moved in to stop the Duke immediately?" Peter explained his question.
"Not really, he just stood there at first. Like he was thinking to himself." Mack began to remember.
Peter paused before he had a brainstorm as Anna turned to Peter slightly confused.
"What? What is it?" Anna asks.
Before Peter could tell them the plan, Marshmallow returned to the room as Mack groaned.
"Not this guy again." Mack sighs.
Scott looks at the giant snowman in shock. "That's a new one."
Peter scanned the room and spotted Elsa's crown across the room and shot a web at it before pulling it towards them, "Hey. big fella. Catch!"
He handed Marshmallow the crown as he took it and stared at it before putting it on his head and calmed down, retracting his icicles and teeth and began to smile and then walked away from them.
"I honestly didn't expect that to work." Peter told them.
"I am just surprised as you are." Anna stated as Olaf just kept smiling before she turned back to Peter. "So, what was you're plan?"
Peter smiled and knows if he's right, he can take down the Kingpin, reveal his new partner, save Arendelle and the world if this plan works.
And if this doesn't work, they're all doomed.
