"Levi! Don't forget your lunch!" Eren hurried to the door and present Levi a cute looking lunch box. The raven was already on the doorway, ready to close the door, walk to work and spend half of the day reading books with Armin or maybe help visitors when Eren, in a pink ruffled apron stopped him.
Levi stared down at the box, then back to the brunette who is beaming at him. Levi wanted to decline, saying that he'll buy lunch at the convenience store but after looking at Eren's big ocean green eyes, Levi started to hate himself.
"O-okay," Levi stuttered like an awkward teenager and accepted the box with slightly trembling hands. Levi cursed his own weak body.
"Yey," Eren cheered, smiling widely at him as if he is expecting something from Levi.
Levi averted his gaze with a cringe, he had no idea what to do. They just stood there with the awkward silence hang above their heads.
"I was thinking..." Eren started, making Levi flinched in his spot. "Maybe we can have dinner in the restaurant across the street, what do you think?" Eren asked shyly while scratching the back of his head.
Levi blinked, frozen. Eren was asking him out. Eren, the Rogue prince is asking him out for dinner. His heart started pounding erratically, making the Omega panicked. "I-I-I-I can't!" Levi almost shouted.
The shock and disappointment that flashed on Eren's face made Levi regret what he said. But the brunette quickly recovered, smiling as if nothing had happened. "Okay, how about let's buy together some ice cream down at the convenience store later?"
"I have to go!" Levi quickly said and closed the door on Eren's face.
Levi walked down the stairs, panting with his heart pounding in his chest. It feels like he just ran a marathon with his current heart rate and it scared him. What is happening to him, or more like, what have Eren done to him?
"Levi! I'm so happy for you!" Armin cheered after hearing the news.
"Thanks, I'm still uncertain of things but I think I'll be able to figure it out soon enough," Levi flipped the page of the maternal book he was reading.
"You know, I can give you information ahead if you want, my mom worked at the hospital, specifically in the birthing ward." The blonde Omega offered.
"Sure," Levi closed his book, perhaps it is much better to hear the information to those who had the experience of pregnancy.
"Well, except that you'll be craving for your partner during a certain phase!"
"What?" I gaped at him.
"Well, it's an Omega's nature. Especially during those times, your hormones will be all over the place," Armin explained.
"Oh, I see..." Levi nodded shyly.
"In that note, I suggest that Eren should always behind your back."
Levi blinked at him. "Is that necessary?"
After Levi blurted out his little confession (asking Eren why he was perfect) things got a little awkward for Levi.
The raven didn't mean anything like in the romantic side, it is more like confirming how Alphas can be so perfect. Eren miss read him and started gushing over him with love-struck eyes. It scared Levi at some point, he knew that the Pharaoh will walk the ends of the earth for him but Levi is not sure of what's his feelings towards the Alpha. Sure, he enjoys another company, one that cleans very well and makes him tea but... Levi is not sure.
Levi looked down at his flat stomach, brows furrowed with worry.
"Hey," Armin rests his hand on his shoulder.
The comforting touch of another Omega soothes his nerves, Levi sighed with a smile.
"Things will be okay," The blonde reassured. "This is what I'm telling you, you needed for a partner of this continues."
Levi nodded, deep in thought once again. He is not sure that he'll survive without feeling awkward around Eren, what happened this morning just proves it. He knew Eren adored him but Levi... he doesn't even know how to properly give it back. His mother died when he was too young, he was raised by his asshole of an uncle and he never engaged in a romantic relationship in his life. Levi doesn't know how things work and he doesn't just want to go-with-the-flow with Eren because they are having a child. Levi is not even sure if he is prepared for a child!
"Ugh!" Levi groaned, pulling his raven hair.
"Whoa! Easy there," Armin cooed, wrapping his arms around Levi and started to gently rock him. "Breath."
"Armin," Levi sobbed. "Why is this so hard?" He broke down. It's different when he was talking to Hange and Eren. Now he is talking to an Omega like himself, Levi felt more comfortable to open up his worries.
"It's okay, everything will be okay," Armin continued.
Levi pressed his lips in a thin line. No. Everything will not be okay, he had a dead Pharoah with magic that can turn into a giant if he wants to, he became pregnant with his child and there is a possibility that he's carrying an Alpha. And most of all, Eren is fucking cute, caring all the time, and too perfect that made Levi worried if his even worth all of it. It's a mess, Levi's life became a mess.
Yes, indeed that he confessed that he felt grateful falling into that hole in Egypt but looking at the big picture. This means trouble. The world is bigger now that he is expecting and deep down, Levi is not sure what to do.
"Does Eren know?" Armin asked carefully.
"Yes," Levi nodded, wiping the tears in his eyes. "He's happy with the news."
"Then what are you worrying about?"
Levi remained silent. A lot. There is a lot to worry about.
"Alright, listen to me," The blonde Omega straighten and gently turning Levi to face him.
"You have to follow what I have to say, okay?" Armin stared at his eyes, bright blue eyes filled with determination.
"Okay," Levi said weakly.
"I am an Omega." Armin started.
"I am an Omega."
"Whatever comes to me, I can handle it," Armin continued, putting more emotion in his voice.
"Whatever comes to me, I can handle it," Levi straightens, motivated with the blonde Omega's words.
"Because Omegas are stronger than any dynamic in the world," Armin smiled, taking Levi's hands on his. "That's what my mother always said to those Omegas in the ward. We are stronger than anyone else."
"We are stronger," Levi replied with determination.
"Yeah, sure that we needed a lot of space to think and someone to talk with but that doesn't lessen our strength. It only made us stronger. Thank you, for sharing your worries."
Levi nodded at the blonde, a small smile pulled on his lips. Armin was right, all he need was someone to wholeheartedly share his worries and some space.
Space... Levi echoed in his mind. Since he went to Egypt, the raven no longer had his own space even in his home. There always Hange popping in every corner, then Eren came and lived under his roof. Maybe that is all that Levi needs.
"Okay," Levi breath, clutching holding Armin's hand. "I think I can handle this, thank you Armin."
It's was exactly 5:30 when Levi reached his building. While walking home, the raven tries to come up ideas on how he will ask Eren to leave his apartment for a little while. He doesn't want to sound like he is getting rid of Eren or anything, Levi just wanted some space. Like the usual, only him, a cup of tea in his hand and his quite apartment.
Reaching his floor, Levi fished out his keys and unlocked the door.
"Welcome home!" Eren greeted the moment the door opened. The Alpha quickly dried his hands on his apron and walked towards Levi, taking his jacket and bag. "How was the library? Did Hange visited?"
Levi let himself in silently, his fingers fiddles with the hem of his shirt as he took a deep breath before asking. "Eren, can you... Ummm," He started, successfully grabbing the brunette's attention.
"Yeah?" Eren put away his things and properly face him.
Levi took a deep breath again before continuing. "Can you.. stay outside in the halls for maybe... ah... an hour or two?"
"I..." Eren was taken aback of the Omega's request. He felt his heart hurts at the thought that Levi wanted to get rid of him. But Eren shook his head, despite the ache in his heart, Eren nodded with a forced smile. He loved his queen and if Levi wanted him out, Eren won't think twice.
"Thank you," Levi said, relieved that the brunette didn't question further. He watched as Eren took off his apron and step out of the apartment.
"I'll just wait here... then," Eren smiled.
"Yes," Levi frowned. "Thank you. " He utters before closing the door.
Eren's breath shook when he heard Levi locked the door. His smile dropped.
The brunette stared at the wooden door, not sure what to do. He didn't dare use his powers to see what Levi was doing inside, he trusted the raven. And Eren trusted Levi to open the door for him after an hour or two.
Eren sat next to the door, patiently waiting no matter how bored he is staring at the empty walls of the halls.
He started humming, trying to occupy his mind to stop it from thinking negative things such as the list of 'what ifs'. Levi had been edgy since morning and Eren had been wacking his brians out to figured out what he did that cause his mate to act that way. But.
Eren stared at the open window at the end of the hall, the last rays of sunshine illuminated the dark and quiet halls. Sighing, Eren pulled his knees up to his chest. Silently praying to the gods that his mate will be alright.
Half an hour past, Eren fell asleep sitting on the floor. The sounds of a vehicle parking outside snapped him out of his slumber. Covering his mouth, he yawned. Eren rubbed his eyes clear of sleep and look up to the close door of Levi's apartment. His heart sunk. Maybe Levi forgot that he is outside. Eren felt like a dog that was forgotten outside the house and under the cold rain.
"No, I can handle this-" Came a voice from the stairs, catching the brunette's attention.
Eren leaned forward to check the newcomers. Lately, a lot of people were taking the empty apartments on their floor. First was Mikasa and Jean and then another one thus explained the moving van that parked outside. Eren doesn't mind having neighbors the walls seem soundproof enough to be a problem and maybe creating friends near will benefit him and Levi.
"Yes, I can handle this," A small blonde female Omega came from the stairs, holding a box in her hands as she shouts at someone below. "Yes, I got the keys."
Eren stood from his spot hoping to help the small struggling Omega. "Hello, I can help you?" He offered politely once he is near.
"Thanks but-" The Omega turned to him and they both froze.
Emerald eyes locked on Crystal blues. No matter how many years had past, Eren never gets a face and this particular Omega in front of him is in the same boat.
"The Emerald prince," The Omega gasped quietly, dropping the box that she was holding.
"H-Historia?" Eren gaped, not believing that this Omega was once his bride. "You're-"
"Oh, hold on right there you spoiled bastard!" Historia's calm angelic features morphed in rage. She stumped her way to the Pharoah, jabbing her finger on his chest. Eren stepped back until his back his the end of the hall where the window is at. "Killing me because you wanted to go your way! Aren't you just being a bitch!" She spits.
"Whoa," Eyes blown wide, Eren still can't believe what is happening. His late bride is well and alive and she remembered him. Remembered how Eren killed her. "You remembered?"
"Of course, I do." Historia huffed, crossing her arms on her chest. "You're not the only one who leans towards black magic after what happened."
"What did happened?"
Historia sighed. "After you killed me when you got coronated as King of Egypt, my parents held on black magic to resurrect me. But I got reincarnated on the next generation with intact memories, I discovered my parents did that so that I have to remember to never get involved with an arranged marriage. To follow and marry who I love. In that generation, I lived a happy life and died in old age. Then I got reincarnated again with intack memories and I follow my heart. Died happy due to old age and it kept going on and on. And here I am." Historia spread her arms wide. "Born in a modern world with intact memories of how I died. How you killed me!"
"Historia... I know I'm a horrible person back then and I'm so sorry," Eren raises both hands and lowered his head with guilt.
"I moved on with it. I mean, who doesn't when the first thing you saw when you open your eyes as a baby, you saw *that* scene. And I've been reincarnated a lot," she shrugged.
She admitted that it was a little traumatic at first. In her first reincarnation, Historia recalled crying all day and night like as a babe. But when she grew older, she understood that it was a message from her late parents.
People think she was going crazy but the blonde Omega moved on, got married to a beta. She had two beautiful children, had a happy life living on the farm with her family, meet her grandchildren, and died in old age. And she reincarnated again.
By her third reincarnation, Historia was a pro. She visited different places now that the trains were built and steamboats connected the lands. She fell in love with a guy in a different country, got married, had children, retired, and died of old age. And it kept on going and going. She tried everything, traveling, learning new skills, tasting every food, meeting people, changing her styles. But at the end of the day, she knew that she will meet someone she loves, get married, have children, and died of old age.
When she was born in the modern world, Historia almost wanted to try going into crimes to spice up her life in this generation but it seems like she doesn't have to. Now that the Emerald prince is here, somehow in the back of her mind, Historia knew things will be different this time.
"So... what are you doing here? You finally get out of your chambers and see the world?" Historia asked awkwardly. She is aware of what happened to Eren, the tales of how the Rogue Prince's people turned against him spread like fire in Egypt back then but as quickly as it came it dies down. Making Eren, the Rogue Prince that can turn into a giant monster, a legend. She barely even heard Eren from history lessons, making her think that the world had forgotten the Alpha Pharoah.
At first, Historia was happy to know that the ruthless spoiled prince is no longer known as if he didn't exist but she didn't know how that the Alpha population grew thin by the days. At her first reincarnation, Historia witnessed how other tribes go against their Alphan leader. As she kept on reincarnated, the same thing happened until not a single Alpha is left.
Within intacked memories, Historia can tell how much the extinction of the Alphas had shift society. Looking at Eren right now, the only living Alpha in the modern generation. She's not sure how things will unfold in the future. Upon further observation, she noticed that Eren still had his magic, which must be the reason why he smelt like a Beta than an Alpha.
"Well, my fated mate got me out of there." Eren can't help the smile that was pulled on the corners of his lips.
"So the Gods finally given you a mate," Historia smiled as well, deep inside she was happy to see Eren this calm and happy.
When she first met Eren, the Alpha wore a stern face. Always angry and hot-headed, he will explode if he didn't get what he wanted but to be fair, she knew Eren is good to his people. During the courting (Historia barely called it courting with none of them spend time getting to know each other) she always spotted the prince, playing games with the people, telling stories, and sometimes helped them with the chores. She knew Eren will be a good Pharoah but of course, Eren wanted to push his way.
Historia rakes her eyes on Eren from head to toe. The Pharoah looked the same as she remembered, it could be the works of the black magic. She blinked, thinking maybe the Gods had planned everything all along.
"Eren, you can come in-" Levi paused when he heard the brunette's voice out at the end of the hall. He left the door ajar, just enough so he can listen silently to the conversation. Eren seemed to be talking to someone.
"Eren," said a girl's voice "It's nice to see that you are doing good as well but... when do you think this black magic will end?"
"I... I'm not sure..."
"It's just that all my life I've seen the scenario of how you killed me and then having all my memories intact is not that fun... I want to end this somehow and live a new leaf."
Levi's brows furrow at the conversation that he was eavesdropping. He had no idea what the girl is talking about.
"Eren killed her and she remembers?" the raven Omega whispered, utterly confused.
"The Gods must have planned this," the girl continued.
"I thought so too, Mikasa and Jean recently moved in."
The girl gasped.
"If this what the Gods had planned," Levi can feel the sadness lancing in Eren's voice. "There is a possibility that black magic is slowly dying down. That means... I'll die."
